F@H is the "miner" for the gpu/cpu.

After that, same as any coin. Set up the pool to payout to your wallet.

Of course, if you have a sha256 asic you can mine on a pool using cgminer.

I'm folding at 30k ppd and 500gh on the pool.

1 go to http://folding.stanford.edu/
2 Then at the top middle of page click download.
3 On the next white page click download again
4 Now go to your downloads and open Fah installer as admin.
5 Follow the easy steps, once down loaded go to step 6.
6 Now what GPU are you using? is it up to date, via Bios and catalyst update? go to your manufactures web site and update.

First of all - Great job on the coin guys. This instantly renders most of the alt coins irrelevant now.
I do have a few questions about folding performance:


1. How much performance boost can I expect going from Catalyst 13.12 to 14.4 ?
2. Same thing about the cpu. How much boost can I expect going from a 2 core Celeron  g3220 to a I7 3770K or smth ?
3. Can I use the same username and password for all my Rigs ? Or will this cause them to all work on the same project ?

Hmm i followed the guide and i am folding with my gpus. However, its extremely slow. It says 1 job is like 10 days and it also says its at 0.01% after some minutes of folding. I this correct?

3 Yes. It is recommended to use same username and passwords on all rigs. up till about 3 pc's /setups. After that make 2nd username & pw and devide.

I believe it's only calculated every 24 hours? One of the devs can clarify that.

cryptobullions will keep showing 0. But you will get paid daily for your PPD. To look if its working/ look at your current points / look at curecoin team stats...

Running FAH for 3hours ? Depend on the assigned work unit it can take several hours to one day to finish it. Only after the WU is finished, send back to Stanford and verified you get credit/points. Mostly around one hour, sometimes longer for that check. Then CureCoin can update their stats. Depend on how they do it can add another 3hours delay.
What I want to say: be patient and keep running. It's not a fast action game.

And please: do not just delete started work units.

Those WU are sequential in nature and if one got stopped the subsequent WUs can't be created and research get delayed. Once a WU is started please finish it ! also if you get less points.

If this is done to often it will harm this coin with respect to its reputation.

Oh, and it might harm the status of your own passkey as you need to keep a 80% success rate on returned WU to keep the QRB

This is true and I can verify this. Dumping work units will lower your points. I know many of you are still learning how to get rigs that are built for mining to fold. In some cases this will be impossible because many miners have too little CPU power to feed work units to multiple gpus. ( many miners built machines with cheap cpus because a high end cpu is not needed to mine coins via a multi gpu setup)

If you are bottle necking because of too little cpu power you might want to consider buying a cheap quad core or eight core processor providing that your mobo can handle it. As mentioned in other posts you will want to leave atleast one cpu core per gpu plus an additional left over cpu core to prevent this bottle neck. If you want to go all out and run 4 gpu's on a quad core system post your results. If you have a fast enough ghz cpu you might be able to pull that off, however in most cases a single spare cpu core is needed.

ChristianVirtual is a pro folder, he has mentioned QRB ( quick return bonus ) and the fact that you have to have an 80% success rate in returning work units in order to receive this bonus (QRB). If you want to get the full potential earnings from your gpus then you simply must learn how to work with the QRB rules. Take his advise, and learn how to earn quick return bonus (QRB).

To give an example of the loss in points due to QRB rules, one of my gpu's is folding a work unit with a base credit of 4000 points. Since I'm meeting the qualifications for QRB I will receive around 27000 points for this work unit.

To add a little encouragement to upgrade your cpu, take a look at this...
