2401  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: December 29, 2022, 08:23:30 AM
1/3 of total monthly income going to savings? This is a subjective topic because people are living differently.

There are some people who are living on cities which earns a daily minimum wage and, in our country, if you are living in a city and you're a minimum wage earner, you'll be having a hard time saving money because your monthly income might just be enough for your needs and bills. On the other hand, if you are living outside the city (let's say in a province) and your monthly income is higher than that of a minimum wage earner then obviously saving 1/3 is possible.

Aside from the place where you are living, maybe you can consider too the monthly expenses and their kind of life. A person who doesn't have any family yet and has a higher income obviously can save 1/3 of their monthly salary. Now a person who already has a family might be having a hard time saving 1/3 because of the expenses.

Overall, saving 1/3 of the total monthly income depends on the life of a person. Some can do it which is very good, and some are not for some reasons. As for me, I don't have a family yet so I can still save 25% of my total monthly income.
2402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 29, 2022, 01:34:39 AM

As a die-hard fan of the Dallas Mavericks for a long, I was impressed with the recent win that almost cost them to lose it but got saved by Luka's magic.

My concern is, the fact that Luka needs to average 50 or 60 points per game to win is something not good for me in the long term, especially that with the stats like that per game, they are only winning by a small margin or the worst, they are losing that game. I know he's getting more points like that as he's the main guy for the team but still, he badly needed some help.

As I always said, Mavericks can always rely on Luka's consistency but I do hope that his teammates will also do their very best.
I just saw a recent post in Facebook regarding this one:
Quote
0-13884. In the last 20 seasons, no NBA team had won after being down by at least 9 points with 35 seconds or less remained. The Mavericks are the ones who broke that streak.
Just imagine that for a second and many will think that what happened yesterday was a miracle. 1 historic record has been made by Luka and 1 historic record has been broken as well. Cheesy

Like you, many are concern on how the Mavericks are relying too much on Luka when it comes to offense. Luka is 23 years old only and he's carrying the team like Lebron was in Cavaliers where they got swept in the NBA Finals. Luka is getting and better and better season after season, but his teammates aren't, and they are staying like an average player out there. His teammates need to step up if they want to achieve what they achieved last year.

The good thing right now is that the Mavericks are on a winning streak but still, Luka's teammates must step up offensively so he will not carry all of the burden of the team because that's hard. It will affect you physically and mentally.
2403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 29, 2022, 01:18:23 AM
Nothing unusual. As I expected, the Dragons won that Game 2 with a double-digit advantage as well like in Game 1.

If you've watched PBA Finals for many times, you might know already that this is "always" the scenario. One team will win and then the opposing team will win on the next game. That's why I didn't surprised when the Dragons won because it's kinda like a pattern just to hype the fans coming into the next game.

Don't like to see a game where a big lead always happened. I want to see several exchanges of lead, especially in the last quarter where everyone watching will be put on silent mode as no chance of seeing who will win at the end.
Not in the first games of the series.
I expect this kind of game to happen on around Games 4-6 or 7 if it will go to 7 games. TBH, Ginebra is trying to cut the lead, but the problem is that their offense is almost non-existent. Only 2 players got in double digits against 4 on the Dragons. They will be going back to the drawing boards and find an adjustment to their mistakes.

It's already tied so I guess the excitement is back again.
2404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your experience with bitcoin in 2022 and your expectations come 2023. on: December 28, 2022, 07:53:26 AM
Many can compare 2022 and 2018 and many will say that it's the same. Well, if you will base on the price movement, they really are the same, but for me it isn't. In 2018, I'm still a newbie at that time that's why I considered 2018 as the "Year of Hell". Fast forward to 2022, it happened again but this time, I'm already ready if the worst thing comes and it came this year. I'm ready for it and instead of me panicking, I took the opportunity and accumulated slowly.

My experience this year has not been very happy but at the same time, not that sad. I might be a bit disappointed since I had an impermanent loss in my portfolio, but I'm happy that I bought cryptos and stock market for a cheaper price.

My expectations for 2023? For the market none but I expect, and I hope that the world will be better next year than this year. Crypto market will be moving in sideways. That's what I expect. I will continue accumulate still until next year as long as I have spare money.
2405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Preparing For 2023? on: December 28, 2022, 05:40:16 AM
We all know that 2022 has not been friendly to the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin, being the top ranked lost over 60 percent from its all time high value.
Many altcoins have also lost more than half the value they had in 2021, the several occurrences in the cryptocurrency industry caused several bloodbath we experienced in most parts of the year 2022.

But I am optimistic concerning 2023, I foresee a major breakout for Bitcoin and several other top altcoins, and some new altcoins that are really promising..
If we will look at the cycle, I guess many already anticipated that 2022 will be the same as 2018.

2022 had been an awful year for investors because many lost their money the whole year but on the other hand, there are some investors who took the opportunity and bought some coins especially Bitcoin. This might be a bad year for some but for me, it's a good one still even though my portfolio's total value went down a lot. I took the opportunity as well and bought some cheap Bitcoins and also invested into Stocks for long run.

OP is optimistic and it's good to see optimistic investors after what happened this year. As for me, it will not be the same as 2022 but I expect a sideways movement for the whole market including the crypto market. 2023 will be the recovery year until we enter the bull market. My preparations for next year? None but I'll continue to accumulate Bitcoins and other cheap altcoins until the bull market comes.

Maganda yung management nila noon.

2407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 28, 2022, 02:45:07 AM
The Nets are starting to look like they’re firing on all cylinders. They’ve quietly won 9 straight with Kyrie and KD both scoring more than 30 in their last outing. KD looked a little frustrated at times yelling at teammates, but maybe that’s what they need out of him as a leader because whatever they’ve started doing seems to be working. They’re now the #3 team in the East and looking good.
They've won 9 straight games but surprisingly, nobody is talking too much about it, or I'm not updated only Cheesy.

Nevertheless, it's good to see the Nets starting to get some wins already after that awful start and a lot of drama that went on. Looks like their new coach is a perfect fit for the team. It seems like the yelling that KD is doing is firing all of the Nets roster and performing way better than what they are. KD and Kyrie are expected main offensive players for the team but what's better is that they are getting enough help for their role players and Simmons is slowly getting his rhythm already.

The Nets are 3rd in sportsbook before the season in which team has a higher chance to win. With their current roster and their current performance and if they will continue to play like this and there will be no injuries, they are formidable team to deal in the Eastern Conference.

2409  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin My Best Chrismas Gift on: December 27, 2022, 07:33:23 AM
I decided to spend my money buying myself some Christmas gifts which is Bitcoin instead of buying some expensive clothes or shoes I decide to carry the digital BTC  in my wallet, instead of wearing shit that will soon get worn out.
Nothing wrong with it.
There are some people who really are thinking about their future all the time and there are people who are thinking of the material things only.

For me, there is nothing wrong if you will buy material things but better to balance the 2. I mean you can buy some material things that you need but at the same time, you will still keep some money in order for you to buy Bitcoins or any investments out there.

Overall, I hope that you bought something important for yourself aside from Bitcoin like material things that you need, or you gave presents to other people because they always say that "sharing is caring".
2410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing with your alt bags on: December 27, 2022, 06:48:11 AM
Almost all altcoins are now making new all time low, Gala games for example look like it's going to 0.015$ after holding 0.025$ for months, I have halted my buys right now because I believe that BTC will go lower, what are you plans?
I put them to work thru staking. I've been doing it since last year.

TBH, with the current bear market, I only think of Bitcoin as the coin that I want to buy. I mean we are in a bear market, and we know that if we are in a bull market, altcoins tend to give more profits to holders than Bitcoin is right? We always see altcoins that are going x5 or x10 or even x20 in a bull market.

What are my plans? Just accumulate Bitcoin and maybe Ethereum for the rest of the bear market. I might buy some other top altcoins as well, but I'll be focusing more on the 2 coins that I said.
2411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 27, 2022, 05:43:02 AM
Regard to LeBron James, he continues to play, most of the games he manages to have a good score, in others not so much, unfortunately he cannot carry the team on his shoulders as he did before, and it is clear that he needs help, especially AD to get the Lakers to the playoffs and perform well in this stage of the competition!

Lebron is not the main man anymore. Though he can still contribute to the offense, he is not that much anymore in defense. He is not as intense as he was when he was in Miami or in Cleveland. AD is the main man of the Lakers right now but his availability to play prohibits him to carry the team. IF Lebron is not bringing too much income to the Lakers organization, I think he will be out already. Let's see how far the current roster will take them and how long the Lakers will stick to AD and Lebron if they do not bring success to the Lakers.

What do you expect. A 38-year-old player that still the main offense of the team?

Yes, he's been an all-star all throughout his career and he also gave all of the team he went a title in the past but like others, he's only a human and his body also weakens overtime. At 38 years old, we consider a player already past his prime, but Lebron is different (well kinda). He is still averaging 27 PPG still and with his age, that's already a huge contribution to the team. His defense? Well, at his age, he's stamina is relatively low as well, but the surprising thing is that he still plays 36 MPG.

Right now, the Lakers has no main man. AD? I can't consider him as a main man because just look where he is "AGAIN". A foot injury that will let him sit until February. It can't be Westbrook also. Now the Lakers are in a 4-game losing streak. I know that there are still many Lebron fans here but...it's pretty obvious that he can't carry a team anymore or not at least if he has all-star players on his team. The Lakers will not enter the playoffs this season "AGAIN".
2412  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FTT Token - SCAM! on: December 27, 2022, 03:57:03 AM
FTT is the same with BSV. Not backed by anything. The only difference is that your coin has been delisted on Binance while FTT doesn't. That hurts BSV holders right that's why you are posting threads like this Cheesy.

LUNA also scammed people, but they didn't get delisted on Binance. Correct me but I think the total trading volume of that coin in Binance also affects the decision whether they will delist it or not regardless of if it scammed people or not (which is kind of funny TBH).
2413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 26, 2022, 11:06:15 AM
One of the reasons why Bay Area loss the game is because they are outrebounded by the Ginebra Kings.

The kind of defense of Ginebra is a championship defense, Bay Area should match that intensity, otherwise they will have no chance against the home team. It's only their import who are playing well, sure they can't win relying on their import heavily unlike the Gin Kings where everyone was contributing most especially on the defensive end.

Imagine this stats, 58 rebounds vs 35 rebounds for Bay Area.
Stats don't lie. Their main weapon which is their three points is a bit awful. 13/42 for 30%. In a finals game, it's awful especially if it's one of your main weapons in winning the game.

The intensity is just too much for the Dragons to handle. For them, it's like in NBA where they are facing the home team in a finals game. Well, the Ginebra can be considered a home team Cheesy. They knew it in the eliminations that they will face a crowd like this. It's just it's too much for them and they don't have any answer for how Scottie is playing. His presence in the court greatly affects the Dragons especially on how he is getting offensive rebounds. He's just everywhere.

If only I put a bet yesterday, I won because it's 2.48 ML for the Ginebra IIRC. Game 2 is on the 28th. The question now is, will the Dragons use Powell if he's capable in playing. What will be the adjustments the Dragons will be doing coming into Game 2.

Just for context. 60 out of the 90 teams who won Game 1 in a PBA Finals come out to be victorious. Game 1 is always a huge game because that team will get the momentum.

It's exactly 25 of December here at 12:20 AM PH time. Merry Christmas to all of us.

I just hope that:
- you didn't make any bad decisions with regards to your investments this year and in the future
- you didn't lose your patience and sold your holdings at a loss.
- you're still ok despite of what's happening not only with the market but the recent events around the world
- you will make better decisions next year and, in the future, if you made some bad decisions this year

2022 really is a tough year not only with the whole crypto market but all of the markets. Aside from that, we've seen some people who are struggling more than they are years ago. We've seen 2 countries fighting with each other. I hope that all will be better this upcoming 2023 not only with the crypto markets but the life of each person.
2415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading With Borrowed Funds!!! on: December 24, 2022, 02:54:53 PM
It is true that some people have become rich through crypto trading in the recent times. But considering the high risk involved in trading, do you think it's proper/wise to trade with borrowed funds as your capital irrespective of your trading experience?
Trading with borrowed funds? You can do it but with your question that is it wise to trade using borrowed funds, I don't think so.

I mean many of users here are against that one because of the risk that it may cause to the trader. You might lose your money especially if you are just started trading and after you lose, you will think of paying the capital plus the interest of the money you borrowed.

Maybe just borrow if you will invest it into an asset that is appreciating in the long run like in Real Estate or maybe in Stock Market. Even though many are against into it, it isn't illegal so you can just do it, but be ready with the consequences that you will face if you lose your money.
2416  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: December 24, 2022, 02:25:39 PM
There are many. You can't just enumerate one as the biggest because all of them are somewhat connected and will help you not achieve financial freedom.

- Government.
- Way of lifestyle
- Attitude (not disciplined, always procrastinating etc.)
- Plans in life
- Your ultimate goal
- Financial Education

These are just some of the biggest obstacles or let's just say problems that will help you not achieve financial freedom. Overall, achieving financial freedom is very easy to say but TBH, it's very hard to achieve. On the other hand, you might surpass what I've said but, in the end, you might still fail to achieve financial freedom for some reasons.
2417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should your wife or husband know your seed phrase? on: December 24, 2022, 02:13:12 PM
When a man gets married to a woman to become husband and wife, they become one and everyone expects that they can get to share everything with each other. I know of women who have the passwords to their husbands bank cards and they can make withdrawals on his behalf. I will like to ask the Men here if they have shared their seed phrase with their wife's? I will like to ask the women here how they will feel if their husbands refuse telling them their seed phrase?

I'm a man and I don't have any wife yet.

There will be a time that I will be a husband soon, and I guess I will share my seed phrase to her. All of my seed phrases which contains all of my altcoins will be shared to her. I guess there is nothing wrong with it right because your husband and wife already.

This might how I feel but I know that this is a subjective topic, and we aren't experiencing the same. The word here is trust. If you trust your husband/wife, you will give all of your seed phrases to him/her. The good thing is I trust my current partner thus, I will share it to him in the future.

Yes, I will share it to her, but he doesn't know how to withdraw funds. Cheesy

Betting odds are now available.

https://sportsbet.io/sports/basketball/philippines/pba-commissioner-cup/matches

What are you waiting for? Pound that Moneyline now because that attractive odds will be gone because I'm pretty sure bettors will take the ML.
Brownlee will surely play, so I guess Ginebra is underrated.
I saw a post on Facebook that the Dragons are discussing whether they will choose Nicholson or Powell in the PBA Finals.
I don't know but this might affect the whole performance of the team. Ginebra beat them with Nicholson as their import, but they don't know if they can still defeat them if Powell will be their import.

If Nicholson will be their import, I guess that 2.44 ML of Ginebra is an attractive bet because they have a chance to defeat them because they already did in the eliminations and Brownlee played really well against Magnolia and his momentum might continue in the PBA Finals. Ginebra might take Game 1. Smiley

Interesting rumor that Zach LaVine is trying to force his way out of Chicago and into a contract with the Lakers.  I honestly don't see how this would work out with a trade, but it's fun to speculate about.  The crazy thing is that DeRozan wants to be a Laker also.  With the Lakers not having much to offer but Anthony Davis, it seems unlikely that a swap for LaVine would work and this is interesting because the Lakers have been trying to get DeRozan with a trade, and now the Bulls have 2 guys that want to play for the Lakers...  This is going to be one rumor filled trading window.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-rumors-zach-lavine-is-forcing-his-way-to-the-lakers/ar-AA15BD0a

Yeah, read that rumors as well, I was really surprised that Lavine wanted out of the Bulls, since he was being made to be the face of the franchise. But it looks like he was frustrated on how the teams are turning specially last season when they got DeRozan because they expecting that they will make a final push.

They do good in the beginning, but when injuries keeps piling up, barely made it to the playoff last year and then exited on the first round.

And this season, it's worst for them.

Yes, it does seem within the realm of possibility that the Bulls will blow up their roster.  I don't see them wanting a piece like Anthony Davis to build around though.  It's too much of a risk.  Just after reading the article about Zach LaVine, there's another one about DeRozan wanting out...

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/demar-derozan-considering-massive-trade-request-from-chicago-bulls/ar-AA15AlbM

The crazy part is that they seem to be disagreeing how they should play together, but they both want to go to the Lakers...  I think we may see a bit of a pissing contest on who will be able to get to the Lakers.  It would be a bit funny if they both ended up being teammates there again...
Derozan is 33 years old. Lavine is 27 years old. A bit younger but the problem is that their supposed big three isn't working for them.
The supposed big three of the Bulls which consists of Derozan, Lavine and Vucevic isn't working. Also include those role players that aren't doing much for the team to win. At least the Bulls are now in a 3-game winning streak but still, they are in the 11th spot.

If the Bulls do not play well this season, we will expect these 2 players to be traded and find another team. What makes me curious is that, of all the teams out there, why they want to be a Laker. It doesn't make sense because Lebron might retire after his 2-year contract with the Lakers or might play with another team. Wesbrook and Davis might get traded after this season especially Westbrook who will be a RFA and they don't have any draft picks.
2420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 23, 2022, 03:56:55 PM
Looks like there's no Bay Area Dragon bettors here.... am I right? hehe.

Also find this weird because on papers, the Dragons is a talented team with Nicholson leading the charge for them, even though the Kings have beaten the Dragons in the elimination, it is not the gage (at least for me) that this series is in favor of Ginebra. We all knew that a series is very different from a single game in the elimination as in the series they can make some adjustments on the succeeding games.

Anyways, i will update this post if ever i have already decided to bet for the Dragons.

Honestly, I find the Bay Area Dragons vulnerable to losing because they rely so much on their 3 point shooting. Nicholson won't be able to drop huge numbers if he will be limited in the 3 point line because Ginebra have two bigs (Aguilar and C. Stand) to limit him by frustrating him. Look what happened to the Magnolia import, he was suppose to be a great import but he was ineffective in the semi Finals.
Remember TNT? There was a time where they are shooting a lot of threes. While that playstyle helped them, they didn't help them this time because most of their threes aren't going in especially in the PBA Philippine Cup.

TNT and Dragons are different. Relying on three-point shooting is a double-edged sword. It might help you win the team but if shots aren't going it, it will be their reason for a team to lose. If you will look at all of the team's three-point shooting percentage, the Dragons have the highest percentage with 37% and they are shooting 36 threes per game. Ginebra on the other hand is 3rd with 35% with 30 attempts per game.

Will the Dragons rely on threes? I believe they will because they have good three-point shooters but on the other hand, if threes aren't going in for them, they will lose. As for Nicholson, he will always find a way to score. He scored only 28 points when these 2 teams matched up, but I'm pretty sure the Dragons want some revenge since Ginebra is the one who gave them their first loss.
