1581  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience of failure and success can help us control the emotions. on: March 24, 2023, 07:31:12 AM
In trading the number one enemy is our self emotions, many trader loss because they can't control thier emotions and it really affects thier decision making and sometimes it will become a reason for the big loss, in crypto we cannot be free from different emotions because everytime market condition is changing and it is really a high volatility market, i think experienced had a very big role on decision making, is this a reason why most of the newbie loss is it because they don't have enough of experience?
The more experience you have, the better you control your emotions so to answer your question, it's yes.

When I was a newbie in trading, there was also a time where I got FOMO'ed, and because of that I lost a half of my capital. I learned from that mistake of mine, but that wasn't enough learnings from me because I did it again the second time. I got FOMO'ed again and lost more than half of my initial capital. From that, I learned from it because I already experienced losing in trading. Though I can't say that I'm not experiencing any losses in trading, I can say that currently, I'm profiting more than losing in trading, and I'm not doing the same mistakes that I did again.

Experience really is a huge thing when it comes to trading because from that, you will learn and you will adjust to it. If you made mistake, you will adjust base on what happened to you. You will not learn if you didn't experienced it. Maybe there are some traders who for some reasons, traded very well since they started, but most of the newbies really tend to lose their money as they start, and one reasons is their emotions.
1582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What could have happened to all meme coins on: March 24, 2023, 06:38:39 AM
I am wondering what the fate of projects like Volt inu, Baby Doge and other meme coins would have been if Elon Musk never supported Doge coin, would Shiba inu ever made it to top 20?
Meme coins in general doesn't have any use case at all... or I should say that DOGE has a use case while SHIB?? I don't know if there is any at all. SHIB just increases on it's rankings because of Elon Musk hyping it. Surprisingly, it stayed on the top in terms of market cap for an unknown reason.

What would have happen to meme coins? Will there ever be any if Elon never existed?
Most of the meme coins will die like what always happen.

They hype of memecoins was when Elon hyped DOGE and SHIB. After that, lots of memecoins emerged. Some are scam, some are just useless, worthless shitcoins. Some become deadcoins, and some have been abandoned by their developers. Anyway, even without Elon, DOGE has always been at the top for a long time already. It has been on the top 100 in terms of market cap.

Quote
Re: Is the government can really make a way to end poverty or it depends on us?
Poverty will not and will never end.
Government's help has limitations. We can't all depend to the government. We need to do our thing as well in order for us to get out of poverty.

In my country i observed so many people doing rally and blame the government why the basic needs price rise and the salary is still very low and not enough for daily expenses, is this the effect of the Ukraine and russia war that makes the gas or crude oil so high at price and they pass the gas expenses to the product and it ends to very high price of the basic needs that make us very poor, I see government has a move to resolve the problem but many people are still blaming the government.
When people are having a hard time, there is this nature of a person where they are blaming somebody for what they've done themselves like in this case, the are blaming the government on why the price of basic needs are increasing. These people are also the people who don't know what is called "inflation", and what they know only is that, it's the government's fault as to why prices are increasing.

Some governments are doing their job to at least decrease the price of basic needs such as oil, gas, and food, but on the other hand, there are some things that it isn't controllable at all like inflation. If people want to go out of poverty, they must do something and don't rely it all to the government.
1584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Game do you think is a Game of Chance or a Game of Skill? on: March 24, 2023, 03:13:25 AM
While going through multiple websites for my topic I found out that the online gambling industry has been growing rapidly. The growth has been significant as in 2021 the global online gambling industry size was recorded at $61.5 Billion, whereas it went up to $79.8 Billion in 2022. The rise as per my understanding is significant.
One factor here why online gambling industry has been growing rapidly is the fact that we had a pandemic.
Pandemic prevented those gamblers going out and go to a casino. Some of these gamblers really do want to spend their time gambling thus, they found a way, and they tried online gambling. Maybe some of those gamblers who are going on a casino preferred gambling online for various reasons. The rise is significant indeed, but if the pandemic didn't happen, I guess the growth will not be that huge.

~but my question is which one of these do you consider to be a game of skill or a game of chance?

  • Slots
  • Balckjack
  • Baccarat
  • Poker

Slots is pure chance I guess, Poker and Blackjack is both game of chance and skills because you need a bit of a luck in drawing the cards you need and you need skills or in this case experience so you will know what will you do. I don't know what Baccarat is, but I often hear it in some gamblers out there.

1586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 24, 2023, 12:20:41 AM
The ref immediately pointed it's the Warriors' ball and reaffirmed the call when two players approached him. I understand the confusion but I still don't think the Mavs protest would succeed if they plan to pursue that. Maybe the referees can talk about this as well and come up with a better sign for timeouts so this kind of situation doesn't happen again.
Another thing is their announcer. That guy had been making a lot of mistakes in the whole game.
Mark Cuban said it was the announcer who said the ball will be Mavericks' possession, perhaps he can first talk to him before ranting on social media.
~
And it was not a 2 point game. It was a 5 point game, the Warriors just let Bullock shoot the three with less defense.
If there are a lot of non-calls, it should be Steve Kerr that should be angrier. There was a 5 offensive possession incident by the Mavs where no call was made even though Warriors' players are getting pushed all over the place trying to get the defensive rebound.
I hope they will fine that announcer for not doing his job correctly.

I mean we know how important the announcement of the announcer is. What if it's playoffs already and unfortunately he made that mistake again? That wrong announcement can cause one team a win. As for Cuban's reaction regarding that, he was talking at the crew's table a few minutes after that mistake was done, and nothing changed so he just posted it on social media. He posted it for awareness maybe... and for some reasons as well.

I believe the problem with them is their defense. I mean you let Curry drive the ball without any defender inside the paint? You let Kleber guard him outside the 3-point area? That's just ridiculous, and we know that there are no teams who will let their big player guard a smaller guard like Curry outside the 3-point area. Only the Mavericks are doing it. Regarding the mistake, what if the lead is one-sided? What if it was a 15 or 20 point lead when it happened? Will Cuban still rant on social media?

I’m waiting to see if the NBA takes action against Luka for his complaints about the referees. There’s a clip of him accusing the refs of having bet money on the Warriors due to how bad the officiating was. With all the trouble the NBA has had with gambling and refs, that’s not a comment to make lightly. I sort of expect we’ll soon hear about a $25,000 fine in the next few hours.
I hope it does happen. Make him learn his lesson. I am a big fan of his but it is not fun to watch him anymore when all we could see is him talking to the referee like they were on a date or something.
I like the old Luka who just smiles at those no-calls and just goes back to defense afterward.
You can't blame the kid because after all, he saw all the flaws of these referees have. He saw all of the mistakes all of these referees are making, and sometimes, it causes them the game. These wrong calls sometimes make them lose. Though like you, I also like to see the old Luka who isn't complaining, but can't blame him for his actions. It's just me though because I can understand the frustration sometimes.
1587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 23, 2023, 04:20:26 PM
A miserable day for me I guess... or not. Cheesy 1/4 only today and the one with the lowest odds is the one where I won.

Miami Heat - New York Knicks - New York Knicks @ 2.07 - LOST
- The game was close the whole game until the final minutes of the game where the Heat stepped up, and getting the victory. Butler lead his team with 35 points, while Herro also scored 22 points. It's good to see bench players like Vincent, Struss and Lowry stepping up and scoring double digits.

Dallas Mavericks - Golden State Warriors - Dallas Mavericks @ 2.16 - LOST
- Curry did an easy lay-up to push the lead up to 3, the Mavericks made a very bad possession in the crucial seconds that caused them the game. TBH, the referees are kinda sus because they don't want to give Draymond Green his 6th foul even though there are some instances where he already fouled a Mavericks player. Anyway, a win is a win, and speaking of wins, it's the first time that the Warriors won back-to-back on the road this season. Curry only has 20 points, but had 13 assists. Overall, it was a collective effort for the Warriors that's why they won.

Los Angeles Lakers - Phoenix Suns - Phoenix Suns @ 1.89 - LOST
- Am I the only one seeing Reaves as a starter tonight? I mean after his career night, he already has been a starter, and it seems like he is having a good night as well scoring 25 points and 11 assists. This kid needs that $50M 4 year contract. He might be a big help offensively if their superstars are out. Anyway, good game for the Lakers.

Chicago Bulls - Philadelphia 76ers - Philadelphia 76ers @1.63 - WIN
- Didn't watch the game, but when I saw that the Sixers had a 22 point lead in the 1st quarter alone, I knew what will happen already. They got that lead, and never looked back. Embiid only played 16 minutes and scored 12 points. Is he injured? Anyway, the Bulls as a whole team just played very awful in their home to the point that the points of their bench players are more than the points of their starters. :X

Congratulations to all who won at their bets. Smiley
1588  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: March 23, 2023, 03:57:54 PM
If you can add a second/side job into your life without causing detriment to existing factors in your lifestyle, then why not? Work harder, plan smarter, progress faster! If you manage to balance something new alongside everything else in your life, there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't end up better off or more financially stable, if combined with financially intelligent/responsible.

There are no way to find a side jobs that you wont sacrificing any , like your time , sleep or energy because my self right now even i do work remotely as well as sidehustle i still don't have time to play on my child and also lack of sleep which you really need to sacrifice those things for you to achieve those things. Lucky those people who can still manage their time but again don't go over it that your health will got affected.
I can feel you.

Currently, I have 2 jobs because like many others are saying here, only one source of income isn't enough for the whole household to survive. Yes all of us here in the house are working (but I'm the one who's working from home), but still I prefer having a 2nd source of income just incase my main source of income unfortunately ends up for whatever reason it is.

Like you, I already sacrificed my sleeping time, and there are times where I only sleep 5-6 hours a day because aside from my work, I'm also the one doing the household chores since I'm the only one who's in the house all the time. I wonder how much sleep I can get whenever we will have our own baby. This is also the reason why I'm putting most of my money now in the stock market. I have a specific target where I want to earn X amount of money every month thru dividends. It will be a huge amount for sure, but I know I can reach that. Sacrifice first before comfortability.
1589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC needed for retirement in 10 years? on: March 23, 2023, 03:39:18 PM
With prices starting to slowly rise again (not sure if I really like that, always have the feeling to never have enough), what would you think
is enough to retire in 2032? I know that nobody can tell that with certainity, but would love to hear your estimates:

I think 10 BTC and 100 ETH would set you up for good, so once that is reached, I would stop accumulating, what is your plan?
A very subjective question I must say.

It all depends on how your lifestyle is. Are you frugal? Are you spending too much money on things you don't need? Are you a huge spender on some things? Are you a gambler? Are you a saver? Are you an investor? How much you need for retirement depends on how your lifestyle is. If you don't have any mortgages, any loans, but you do saved a lot of Bitcoins in the past then I guess 10 BTC and 100 ETH would be enough. However, if you are a big spender, have lots of loans, I'm afraid that you need more of that. Also take note that we don't know what the price of these 2 coins will be in 2032. We might see Bitcoin's price at that year still below $100,000 and Ethereum still below $2,000.

My plan? Accumulate and accumulate until I've reached the point where I don't want to accumulate anymore.
1590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which of your friends and relatives deals with bitcoin? on: March 23, 2023, 03:18:18 PM
Relatives? Hmm I don't think that there is anybody here in my place who's involved in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general, but maybe some of my relatives that lives in other places are involved especially those who are at least know how to use computer, and a bit of Google.

Friends? I know some, but they aren't investing at all which is kind of unfortunate, and make me sadden at the same time. I mean the ones that I know are at the 20's already, and whenever I ask them if they invested into Bitcoin already, they always say "We will do it next month, or maybe next year." I mean you can start even with a few amounts of money only right?

I just hope that one day, there will be a time where me and my other relatives and friends will be sharing our thoughts with regards to cryptocurrency. I would love doing that. I would love sharing my knowledge with them, and learning from them as well.
1591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Justin Sun sued by SEC. Effect on Bitcoin? on: March 23, 2023, 12:52:17 PM
Another stressfull news for the community.
Tron founder Justin Sun sued by U.S. SEC on securities, market manipulation charges.
Who's that person?? I don't know him at all
Ohhh he's the current founder of Tron. The founder who has lots of controversies already way back a few years ago. I can't remember, but there was a time where he said something that caused uncertainties to the whole crypto market. Anyway, I can't see it a stressful at all because after this, Bitcoin will just rise up again.

Will BTC bounce back from this, or will it continue to take a beating? Only time will tell, but I have a feeling this won't be the last we hear about this story.
Yes. It will bounce back.
I wish we would see Bitcoin going to touch that $30,000 price resistance this month or even next month. Like you, I don't believe that this is the last negative news that I'll heard in the next few weeks.

Check this out

~
But it only asks for the BNB address of the investor. How would these con-artists scam those who just dropped their BNB address there?
If they will redirect you to a fake link then that's the real scam, but anyways, on this one I don't see any intent of scamming at all, but the fact that they almost copied SPACE ID is already a red flag.

Overall, whenever you see airdrops like this, make sure that you double-check their official website or Twitter account so that you will not get scammed or whatever thing that they will do just to get your money. Be vigilant because scammers are everywhere. Just one wrong click of yours, and you might lose all of your money.
1593  Economy / Economics / Re: Replacement? on: March 23, 2023, 08:24:46 AM
I have been seeing the progress of cryptocurrency these past few years, and I've been thinking, will it definitely be a replacement for physical money and use crypto as a primary transactions in our everyday life?
No it will not happen.

It's good to see the adoption of cryptocurrency going up as the years goes by, and it's also good to see some small business, and establishments starting to accept cryptocurrency as another mode of payment on their business. Having said all of that, I don't think that there will be a time that cryptocurrency will replace physical money to be used for our daily transactions. There are some hindrances as to why it will never happen.

Most people don't have access to cryptocurrency, lack of device to be used to access crypto, lack of knowledge with regards to crypto, fear that they might lose money if they will use it to transact because of it's volatility. I mean there's many more reasons to why it will not be used for daily transactions. It would be better to keep crypto as an alternative mode of payment and will not replace our physical money because it will not happen... or it might be in the future we don't know. Cheesy
1594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 23, 2023, 08:02:32 AM
Good road win by the Warriors, Luka did play but there's no Kyrie. The game was really close, Steph though shows another part of his game, when he dishes out 13 assists together with 20 points. But it was Kuminga play's and Poole's razzle dazzle drive that kept the Warriors on this game.

So they are still in the 6th spot, but that position might change depending on the games of the Clippers (now without Paul George), or the Suns if they are going to struggle in the last games of the regular season.
It's the first back-to-back road game wins for the Warriors this season. The last time they won back-to-back games on the road was in the Games 4 & 6 of the NBA Finals where they won a title.

It was a close game I should say. I watched the game until the end, and at the final possession before the Warriors close the curtains for the Mavericks, Kleber is the main defender of Curry at the three-point area which is what Curry wants because after that switch, Curry just drove by, and made an easy lay-up to put up their lead to 3 and to seal the deal. Truly the Mavericks have one of the worst defensive teams right now in the league this season. Well, both of them are bad at defense, but the Warriors are only bad at home, and not on the road while the Mavericks are bad both on the home and on the road.

Suns struggling and PG13 getting injured for the Clippers has opened the spot for those bottom seeded teams. The Warriors won 2 on their last 5 road games. Their next games will be on their home (4 games). If the Warriors will win all 4 of their home games, that might put them on the 4th seed at least. I don't want to say 3rd because the difference between 3rd and 4th are 5 games.
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 23, 2023, 07:34:15 AM
Meralco vs TNT now are more interesting to watch, this best of 5 series will be wild for sure.
I'll bet on this for Meralco though TNT really have a great run this conference but I think Meralco will be more eager to bounce back ang get the chance to be back on the finals. Hopefully I can watch the live game as well to feel the excitement on court, looking forward for this game. SMB vs Ginebra are quiet boring to me, I know rumors will be made for the result of this match.
Well, kind of interesting, but it would be more interesting if it will be SMC Vs. MVP in the Semi-Finals. Instead, they gave as a 2 best of 5 series where SMC and MVP will fight with one another to secure a spot in the PBA Finals. Who will be happy watching that? Maybe those Ginebra fans will be happy, but me as a PBA fan, I might not watch the whole Semi-Finals and will skip to the PBA Finals TBH.

You will bet on the Bolts with this one. It's a good option to bet knowing that they are playing well in their last games, but I don't think that TNT will just turn their 10-1 record into waste, and because of that, I will choose them to be the victory of this series. I've had enough of Meralco Vs. Ginebra series already, and I want other teams matching up together in the PBA Finals. I mean TBH, I would rather see Ginebra Vs. TNT on the PBA Finals because the Bolts always lose when they face Ginebra in the Finals. Anyway, I respect your opinion. Smiley

Commissioner Willie Marcial is putting us viewers into a simulation where in the end, it will be SMC Vs. MVP. Kidding. It just went into my mind while sharing my opinion.  Grin Grin
Nothing new, don't forget the boss Al as well.  Tongue
Ohhh I thought nobody can get what I said regarding that. Cheesy
Anyway, it's just a joke coming from me, but to add to what you said, I also saw a Facebook comment regarding the real meaning of PBA. It wasn't Philippine Basketball Association, but it's "Pa-Basketball ni AL". Grin
1596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 23, 2023, 12:29:29 AM
So many games tonight, but not that much money for me to bet. Cheesy Anyway, here are my bets for tonight's games.

Miami Heat - New York Knicks - New York Knicks @ 2.07
- Currently, the Knicks have one of the best road records right now in the league, and because of that I think they will steal one on the road against the Heat. Anyway, the game is on-going with the Heat leading by 3 at the 2nd quarter.

Dallas Mavericks - Golden State Warriors - Dallas Mavericks @ 2.16
- Warriors will play on the road that's why I put my bet on the Mavericks. Luka is playing currently while Irving is ruled out. I put my bet on the Mavericks simply because it will be played on their home, and we know how awful the Warriors are on the road. One road game win isn't enough for the momentum to shift for the defending champs.

Los Angeles Lakers - Phoenix Suns - Phoenix Suns @ 1.89
- Davis is on a day-to-day status, but there are some posts on Facebook that I saw, and it says there that they might be letting Davis to play in back-to-back games. Still, I think the Suns can win on the road even though Ayton will not play.

Chicago Bulls - Philadelphia 76ers - Philadelphia 76ers @1.63
- Currently, the Sixers are leading by 18 points at the first quarter, and with their loss against them in double overtime a few days ago, I guessed that they will come back stronger and defeat the Bulls that's why I put my bet on them.

Good Luck to all bettors. Smiley
1597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 22, 2023, 02:32:10 PM
I can’t explain it but Orlando has been playing really well lately. Ever since they traded Mo Bamba to the Lakers they’ve been beating some good teams. I’ve been avoiding betting against them for that reason alone. I don’t expect that team to do much and maybe they’re winning because teams underestimate them, but I’d be careful betting against them unless they’re playing really good teams.
Yeah, I am avoiding this team too. It's true that it's unexplainable. Markelle Fultz could be one and he is proving why he is the number 1 pick.
The fact that they are up and down is the reason why even me as well are hesitant in betting with them either they are playing on their home or on the road.

They won against top teams like the Celtics, the Sixers and other teams, but lost to some bottom teams as well. We don't know how they will perform in their next games because sometimes they are playing well, sometimes they aren't which causes our bets to lose (sometimes even our parlays). Nevertheless, the Magic roster as a whole team has some promising players.

What they do only need is time to develop. Fultz has recovered from his injury and currently playing in his best season so far. Players like Banchero, Carter Jr., Anthony, and those Wagner brothers as well might be a good piece for the team (or into another team if they will be traded in the future). Let's not forget Bol Bol as well who played better now that he has given more time with the Magic.
1598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when new altcoins encourage religious, political and other agendas? on: March 22, 2023, 02:08:16 PM
On my 5 years in the crypto industry, I didn't encounter any single token/coin that is related to religion that became successful... or it's because there's no project that has been created that is related to religion at all.

Either way, I don't see any good use-case to that kind of token at all. I mean how will it help us people who aren't an Islam. I don't see any benefit from us aside from capital appreciation of the token which is highly unlikely to happen.

I guess it would be better to just stay away and ignore projects that are related to religions or politics at all. All of these are shitcoins that aren't worthy of investing our money with. Just focus on Bitcoin, and maybe Ethereum.

Commissioner Willie Marcial is putting us viewers into a simulation where in the end, it will be SMC Vs. MVP. Kidding. It just went into my mind while sharing my opinion.  Grin Grin

In the first game, it's pretty obvious that TNT will just dominate the Phoenix, and that's what happened. TNT's import and currently leading in the Best Import of the Conference, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson hasn't been shooting well on this game, but it's good to see players like Pogoy, Castro, Williams, and Oftana stepping up offensively even though their import isn't playing well offensively.

In the second game, I put my bet during the game and the odds of Meralco at that time was at 2.5 so I put my bet on them immediately. It's better to see 2 teams from both SMC and MVP fighting each other than 3 teams from SMC and only 1 team on MVP. Aaron Black's buzzer beater was a Hail Mary that's for sure. I shouted when I saw it. Magnolia was in control of the ballgame, but the Bolts took the momentum on the final minute of the 4th quarter, made a 7-0 run to force an overtime, and from that, the Bolts continued the momentum that they got in the 4th quarter, and won the game.

I hope those who bet tonight won. Smiley SMC Vs. Ginebra and Meralco Vs. TNT on the other side. Am I the only one thinking that Meralco and Ginebra will face again in the PBA Finals? Cheesy
1600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do we build a strong community of supporters for crypto projects ? on: March 22, 2023, 08:32:29 AM
Transparency, Honesty, Marketing.

There are many more, but I believe these are 3 of the most important things that developers must have in order for their project to become successful. Developers being transparent to other people increases the trust of the investors towards the project. Being honest and answering investor's questions without hiding or lying anything will increase the chances of our project to be a successful one. Marketing of course is the most vital part of every project because you want your project to be heard worldwide, and now that most of the people are spending time on social media, promoting your project has never been that easy.

Of course, having these 3 isn't guarantee a success towards your project. You need even more than that. You know that building a project in crypto isn't an easy thing. Good luck.
