2421  Other / Archival / Re: 2022 was the second worst year for Bitcoin on: December 23, 2022, 08:47:51 AM
I experienced both the bear market in 2018 and in 2022.

The only difference is that, when I experienced it in 2018, I don't have any knowledge at all and I don't have any crypto holdings at that time thus, I'm not affected that much. Now 2022, I'm holding a few coins including Bitcoin and I feel how my portfolio went down so bad. The good thing though is that I'm not letting myself affected thru it and I'm not making bad decisions at all. I'm just steady accumulating more knowing that it will recover anytime soon.

2022 might be the 2nd worst year for Bitcoin but expect more or at least it will continue in 2023 though not as bad as this year. Inflation in US is starting to decline already which is a good sign. On the other hand, the past performance doesn't mean that it will happen in the future. We've seen some events that only happened this year thus, let's not rely too much on past performances. Expect some changes but anytime in the future, I believe that Bitcoin and crypto in general will recover.
2422  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the entire Crypto Market ever likely to be Scammed? on: December 23, 2022, 08:12:40 AM
Could the entire crypto market ever be a scam?
How much faith do you have about the crypto world?
It would be too ironic if I will say that all altcoins are a scam because I'm holding some altcoins too. I will just say that altcoins are more likely to be a scam than Bitcoin is.
Faith? I don't have at all.

Can I confidently choose Crypto World to safely store all my hard earned wealth?
Like the bank?
Crypto world? Safely Store? Hard-earned Wealth?
You know that crypto is more volatile right than other assets, right?

Crypto world isn't bank and don't consider crypto as an alternative. If you are a conservative investor, just put your money into bonds or just put it into bank if you want your money to devalue because of inflation. You also said, "hard-earned wealth". Are you ready if the worst thing happens to your hard-earned wealth? If it goes down 60-70% or even more, are you ready for it? Will you not panic? If yes, then put it, but it isn't recommended. I don't want to put all of my wealth into crypto.
2423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's behind Donald Trump's issuing NFTs ? on: December 23, 2022, 07:45:09 AM
It means he could sell NFT's with absolutely no worth at all, no utility, no usecase, just to make sure that his followers would gobble it up and he could make some money out of it. And he is doing exactly that right now as well, he is just trying to make a buck. Some people are like that, they care about money more than they care about ethics or morality of it, and I understand, it's just in some peoples nature.
Trump's NFT has a use case like he said.
Each NFT that you will buy will give you a chance to have a special dinner with him, play in his golf course with him and have some souvenirs with a signature from him. That's it's use case.

It's kinda funny TBH knowing that he already said a few years ago that he is against cryptocurrency. I guess there is a group of people behind this project and they just asked permission to Trump to help them and in return, Trump will get a portion of the total revenue. Well, the 44,000 NFT that has been minted has been sold after a day only and if you will compute it, the company earned at least around $4.2M from it.

Most of those who bought these NFT's are probably his blind supporters who believed on the things that they can get once they bought one. Well, good luck to those who bought one.
2424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The reason Dogecoin could fail in the future on: December 23, 2022, 06:36:08 AM
An Outdated Technology doesn't mean a failure and on the other hand, an Updated Technology doesn't mean a success.

The fact that DOGE has been listed on many exchanges just shows that many are still supporting and using it. I'm using DOGE to transfer my coins because of its low transaction fee and relatively higher transaction speed. There are many people who are still using DOGE right now. It has been created as a tipping coin but even though it hasn't been used that way, there are still people that are using it for other reasons.

Now with regards to Elon Musk and DOGE, what is the last time Elon said about DOGE? I mean I'm not updated, and I don't want too but I assume that he isn't hyping it anymore.
2425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 23, 2022, 06:20:19 AM

Others are too worried about Boston Celtics' losing streak not realizing that this season, you can't expect dominating teams to always have that consistent win. Seems inappropriate to me to think that there's a problem with their system. That's not making sense.

What if the Celtics will snap their losing streak next game? Others will say now that the system is now working fine lol.

The real battle is in the playoffs where everyone will have a 0-0 record at the start. The season is still in the early phase. Let's just observe.
For those who are too worried about the Celtics on how they are in a losing streak right now, maybe think of what happened to them last season.

They are at the bottom at the first half of the season and just after the all-star, they went and win those games and got the 2nd spot and reached the NBA Finals that season. Like @harizen said, we are in the early phase of the season. We are just at the quarter of the season and many things can still happen in the future. We might see the Celtics having a losing streak, but they are still at the 2nd spot still so no worries.

We might see the Warriors tank like other are saying, we might see the Nuggets who are at the top spot as of this moment go down to the 8th. We might see the Nets go down because some might get injured (hope it will not happen). The season is still early and expect many more things to happen. No need to worry if you are a Celtic Fan. Worry if they will not enter the playoffs. Cheesy
2426  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: MIR4 NFT game? on: December 22, 2022, 11:26:00 AM

2427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 21, 2022, 02:14:39 PM
Congratulations Bay Area Dragons, they beat the SMB 3-1.

That was an intense game, if CJ's 3 point shot went in, things could be different and we might see a game 5 for this series.
But hey! it's all over, series over for both semi Finals and we will now see the Ginebra vs Bay Area.

So let the betting begins.
My predictions were right Cheesy. Ginebra Vs. Dragons in the PBA Finals.

I mean that would be more enjoyable than Ginebra Vs. SMB right or SMB Vs. Magnolia Cheesy. One thing more is that Ginebra really is performing very well on a conference that has an import. On the other hand, the Magnolia still has the curse. The "Perform well during eliminations but can't convert it into title" curse. It happened many times to them already that's why I call it a curse.

SMB has some highlights as well even though they lost. The circus shot of Perez in the 2nd quarter and the Devon Scott poster over Nicholson in the 4th quarter. I mean if you watched it then you might saw it. The problem with SMB coming to Game 4 is JMF is having an ankle or foot injury IIRC and Tautuaa is injured. They don't have any big that can match Nicholson or even Liu on the paint. The Dragons are also quicker than the Beermen and I also saw one time where both Liu (7 foot 5 inch player) and JMF ran in transition and Liu out speed him. The Dragons are more athletic, quicker, taller and stronger.

It's over and my favorite team lost but seeing Ginebra Vs. Dragons is much more enjoyable. A win-win for both the audience and the management. I'll bet on this series that's for sure. Maybe somebody will act as an escrow again here and some bettors will put some bet? What do you think.
2428  Economy / Economics / Re: Use your money wisely. Invest or Deposit ? on: December 21, 2022, 08:42:22 AM
Now you have $100,000 in your account, pure savings, and you don't need this amount of money to cover your daily expenses. Obviously it's good/free money to use at will. Let's say if you deposit the money into a bank and the annual interst rate is 3%, you will get a steady interest income year by year. If you use this money to buy Bitcoin, let's say the BTC drops to $17,000, you'll buy less than 6 Bitcoins. In the long run, what would you do with this money ? And why ?
A very subjective topic.

Not all people know Bitcoin. Most of the people especially the elderly ones don't know about investing that's why they prefer putting it on the bank because it is safer there and it earns interest annually. Little did they know is that the buying power of their money is slowly declining because of inflation. This is the thing that most of the people don't know.

For me, I don't need to choose between the two. I will pick invest since you said that "I didn't need the money to cover my daily expenses". Assuming that I already have completed my emergency funds, I will invest all of it but not in Bitcoin or crypto only. Diversifying into different assets is a better option.

Diversifying in different crypto coins is very different in diversifying into different assets. Diversifying into different assets mitigates your risk and lowering the risk of you losing money. For me, I will invest that amount of money into crypto, stocks, real estate (particularly in REITS), and Bonds.
2429  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will there ever be any safe centralised exchange ? on: December 21, 2022, 08:26:36 AM
Centralized exchanges have never been secure, not before, not now. The reason is very simple, if you store your coins on the CEC, then these coins are not actually yours, you just can see the balance that the exchange displays for you, but in fact you have no guarantees that you will be able to withdraw your coins at any time when you will need it. In addition, you may be required to pass verification, which is also not very good.
Too simple yet too hard to swallow.

If you are a trader, then maybe this doesn't affect you at all but if you are a mid to long term investor, putting and storing it on a centralized exchange isn't the best option for you. I'm not a trader at all (although I tried to be one, but I failed) that's why I'm not putting any coins into any centralized exchanges.

Just think about this OP, once you put your coins into any centralized exchange already, it isn't yours already therefore it isn't safe. Not your keys, not your coins. Just use exchanges whenever you will buy or sell your coins, but never store it there for a long time.
2430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 21, 2022, 08:09:49 AM
Dallas Mavericks, for instance, I don't think they won't be able to play in the playoffs.

We can have a better preview of what teams might enter the playoffs once the All-Star break commences. It's roughly about over a month and a half to go and team standings might show big changes, especially in the Western Conference where the competition is really tough.

Referring to the Dallas Mavericks specifically, there are games where I am really upset about their performance but still, I believed they will able to enter the playoffs. Although I'm expecting them to compete in a play-in tournament.
I thought that the acquisition of Christian Wood will make the Mavericks better than last season, but I guess I was wrong.

The Mavericks are better last season because their offense was distributed. They have more options to score. Now, most of the points are coming from Luka. I watched a video on Youtube yesterday and it shows that when Luka is off the court, they are -12 on points. Just look at how much points Luka is putting per game. 32 PPG and this just shows that he is doing most of the offense. Wood and Dinwiddie who are we expecting to help him only averages at around 16 and 17PPG.

Without an all-star beside Luka, he will never win a title. That's how NBA is right now. In order for a team to win, you need to have at least 2 all star player on the team. You expect them to be in the play-in tournament. I believe they might make a roster change or make some trades this season, and maybe that might change the tempo of the team. I expect them to be at the 5-8th spot. Slightly higher than your prediction.
2431  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What you really think about trading bots? on: December 20, 2022, 06:55:50 AM
When you heard that term for the first time, you will expect that a "bot" will just simply trade for you and will give you endless profits.  You will think that bots will help you not to lose money.

Well, trading bots really will help you trade as it can execute trades faster than a human does and it does work 24/7 but it doesn't guarantee you to give profits. Trading bots might be helpful for those traders out there while executing their trades on their own, but these bots aren't a bot that will not make you lose money. It isn't 100% profitable and there will be times that you might get lose in your trades. Anyway, trading bots are still very useful for some traders out there.
2432  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just can't get my eyes off my wallet. on: December 20, 2022, 06:23:40 AM
I am a new Bitcoin holder because I recently decided to terminate a bank standing order that transfers some of my extra earnings to a special account. I wanted to save this money for future use. But I recently decided to stop these savings and use the money to buy Bitcoin no matter how small every month. And the money is kept in a decentralized wallet.

But I have one problem which is I keep checking the price of Bitcoin every time I have the slightest opportunity. I just can't take my eyes off my wallet. I can check my wallet up to ten times and above in a day. My mind is telling me that it is not normal since I want to be a long-time investor. I also observe that a drop in price makes me scared, while a rise gives me the opposite feeling.

I want to know if there is an average number of times a new investor should check his wallet and how can I change my behavior if it is abnormal. Thank you in advance for your helpful responses.
That feeling where you're afraid if the market goes down and vice-versa to the point that you need to be updated on its price movement so you can make a decision.

I knew that feeling because that's what I did back when I'm starting in cryptocurrency. You are doing it 10x per day? I'm doing it at around twice per hour. I'm not a trader at that time but I also have this feeling that I need to see the price of market, but I don't have any reasons at all as to why I need to check it.

Experience and discipline. If you're just starting in the cryptocurrency, you will learn gradually that it isn't good to keep checking the price of market. It took me a while until I realized that I'm not that guy who's checking the prices of my portfolio that often. You will reach to a point where you will just make an adjustment yourself. Spending time doing other things will help and being discipline enough to not check your wallet will help you.

As of this moment, I only check my portfolio once every 2 days because there checking it once every 2 days and 10x per day will not make any changes to my holdings (at least for me).
2433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 20, 2022, 05:25:32 AM
For me, if Westbrick keeps on targeting triple-doubles it will not be enough, for me, I think do not target a triple-double but a huge output on scoring, like he recently have against the Nuggets it was an impressive triple-double but he needs to do more, and right now Anthony Davis has a foot injury that may cause some losing game for the Lakers but if Russell Westbrick would keep up his triple-double target it will not be enough I think he needs to do more on the scoring because Anthony Davis may return on December 19,

Did Westbrook still target a triple-double per game? Not that I noticed since becoming a 6th man and coming off the bench.

If he's good with rebounds and assists with fewer turnovers on average, that should do. It's not also good for him trying to make huge output on scoring. Refer to their last games and see how effective Westbrook is even not on his usual scoring.

Coach Ham is doing good so far utilizing Bryant, Reeves, Walker IV, and others. Good to see these players doing well with Lebron in the last game.
For me he isn't, or should I say his main goal isn't getting a triple double every game but, that's just how he plays right now. I mean he can do everything. He can rebound, he can be a passer and he can be a shooter as well though he is very awful on that aspect considering how much he's being paid right now.

Lakers are doing well compared to their first 10 games. Their chemistry is being built slowly. Coach Ham is slowly becoming a better coach right now and he utilizes his other players like Reeves, Walker and Schroeder. The problem right now is Davis being out for a month again. After him being the most dominant player to now getting injured again.

We know how impactful he is and how much he improved compared to last year. Now injuries are coming to him again and ruining his whole season. One month of him being out is a huge disaster to the Lakers already. Him playing and they are at the 12th spot still. How will the Lakers perform with him out for a month?
2434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 20, 2022, 03:56:16 AM

Game 4 for both teams on Wednesday. I'll predict that the Dragons will finish it on Wednesday and will win against the Beermen. On the other match-up, if Lee will not play again, (because of injury or health issues) it will be over for the Hotshots. I mean he didn't play yesterday, and we saw how Ginebra demolished them so we might see the same result if Lee will not play.

There's a chance that Bay Area will win because they'll bounce back from a lose. And about Paul Lee, I think he can play because he only had a fever last night which I'm pretty sure he will be fine next game, however, Ginebra had the momentum and I think they also are the better team, so they might end the series as well. As what we've seen last night, Brownlee is unstoppable, so as long as no one can stop him, things will be tough for Magnolia

Even with a healthy and complete Magnolia, there's no way they can defeat the Ginebra Kings. if they can even the series in game 4, I believe the last laugh will still belong to the Gin Kings. What they showed in game 3 was complete dominance, their defense is very impressive, so I think they'll be a great match up with Bay Area.

It seems that PBA is collecting more money with each semi final games, both are enjoyable to watch and fans who can afford to buy tickets and watch the game live will be there to show support with their favorite team. I don't want to be biased, but I will be on your side. Gin kings have a good advantage here. Even Mags will manage to extend the game into the do-or-die final game.

The chance of winning and moving to the finals is still for Ginebra and if ever the Bay Area will advance to the finals.

That will be a great matchup to watch out, more likely to expect a possible game 7 series.
Well, it doesn't matter for fans as long as they are entertained with the games then they can spend more money into it. I mean I will spend as well if I know it will be worth it. Both games are enjoyable to watch I agree, and it will be more enjoyable in the PBA Finals.

Lee is a difference maker in the series. Him playing give them the victory in Game 2 but him not playing is just like "you let your team get demolished" or they really got demolished literally in Game 3. If Lee will not play in Game 4, it's over for them but some say that he will play so that's good news for them.

Ginebra Vs. Dragons in the PBA Finals will make the arena filled with Ginebra fans that's for sure. People will be happy and at the same time, Comm. Marcial will be happy. A win-win situation Cheesy.
2435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 19, 2022, 10:05:19 AM
Crazy night in Denver.
Crazy Nikola "Joker" Jokic putting in some numbers in his stats. Huge triple-double. 40 points, 27 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Most points in a triple-double record.
March 1968 Wilt Chamberlain 53/32/14. I am not even alive on that day yet.  Grin We just witnessed another record-breaking performance from the Joker.
Despite Jamal Murray having a rough time with his shooting, the Nuggets still won against the Charlotte Hornets. Good game.

Right, that numbers though, worthy of another MVP this season for Jokic?

And he seems to be getting better and better every season isn't it? Magic winning against a Tatum less Boston, 2-0 for Orlando now against the best team in the West. GSW with Jordan Poole 43 points carry the weight on his shoulder winning against Toronto on the road. T'Wolves big 150 points against the struggling Bulls. If someone has bet on the Over for this game, easy win in the middle of the 4th.
Hornets are in an 8-game losing streak now. It's the second worst right now with the Wizards losing 10 straight which is just awful. Both of them are in the 12th and 15th spot respectively.

Jokic is just amazing. How he changed the playstyle of bigs throughout the years and how he is good at everything from passing to shooting to his court vision. He can do everything and aside from that, he doesn't get injured that much. I don't know the last time that he got injured. It just shows that he is also not fragile and that's why he got a super max contract with the Nuggets.

MVP season for Jokic? It's too early I guess but looking on his season averages, he might be considered one of the candidates again if he will maintain or at least have better stats than the current. An almost triple double average for him this currently. 25.2 PPG, 10.9 RPG and 9.0 APG. Who will not be amazed on that numbers and he's a center and not a point guard. That assist average alone is just amazing.
2436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 19, 2022, 06:43:05 AM
PBA for sure, will earn a lot of money. The game between SMB and Bay Area is more like the finals. They both have solid selections
that can spark and bring real entertainment to the fans.

If you noticed the live audience on that Game, others even commented that "are they still in a bubble"? haha.

But with SMB extending the series, and they will be on the second game on Wednesday, expect more fans to attend the live game as more fans will also watch the Manila Clasico on the first game where most BGSM fans are waiting to seal the series on that day.

MOA Arena is the venue and expects a full audience there.

One of the players of Bay Area was injured, I can't memorize the name but if that guy is not gonna play in game 4, I have a feeling that SMB could even the series. I like their physicality though their import is still playing at a lowest level, but JMF being their import is going to match the Bay Area.

About Ginebra vs Magnolia, I think that series will end in 4.
Both of my predictions were right. The problem is that I didn't put a bet on both of them because I'm busy.

Anyway, I expect SMB to extend the series and will not get a win against the Dragons. What I didn't expect is that they only won by 2 points and on a three point by Enciso. What if it didn't go in? The Beermen will lose and get swept but anyway, a win is a win and I'm happy to see lots of fans watching the game and enjoying every bit of the first game while waiting for the Manila Classico.

2437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 17, 2022, 05:20:10 PM
For those who want to risk it to the Beermen tomorrow, here are the odds in stake

I think this is already a good odd if you are an SMB supporter. I know that San Miguel will do everything in its power not to get swept by Bay Area Dragons. They have a formidable team that can compete against the Dragons and the first game shows that they can actually go toe to toe with them. Fajardo alone cannot do it but if the shooters of San Miguel get hot tomorrow, they have a chance to force a fourth game.
I have this thing in my mind where I'm thinking that they don't want to lose to the Dragons in a clean sweep. They will try and win at least one game before bowing down to them.

I expect this series to be finished in 5 games, but it seems like the Dragons really want to demolish one of the strongest teams right now in the league. If I bet, I will try to bet on SMB in Money Line and it's an attractive odd TBH. Anyway, some might think that they will sweep them but for me, I predict that they will win in Game 3 before getting defeated in Game 4. I'll put a bet as well on the SMB but not too much because their chance of losing is quite high.
2438  Economy / Speculation / Re: ELON sold his TSLA stock for $3.5billion. Will he re-buy BTC soon? on: December 17, 2022, 10:36:42 AM
I guess he sold his TSLA stock so that he has some money to be used for Twitter that he purchased.
His businesses aren't as profitable right now and his stock is continuing to plummet (like other stocks are doing) so... yeah I guess right now, he needs more cash to remain liquid and in case he needs something.

Now I don't know where the OP got that speculation. I mean yes, we are in speculation section but to think that he will buy Bitcoin or/and Dogecoin just because he sold his TSLA stocks is just out of this world. I can't relate it at all. He's done with crypto now and if he wants to get involved into it, I guess adding crypto payments in Twitter is the way to go.

Been in signature campaign for years and I didn't encounter this problem at all.
I didn't experience me failing out of the quota requirement because of the deletion of the thread.

Maybe the reason why I didn't experience this is because I'm only posting in threads that have been there for quite some time and not to some thread that just been created a week ago or two. Another reason is that I'm posting more than 10 in gambling section so that I have an extra incase the worst thing happens like what happened to OP. I agree with what others said that avoid self-moderated thread or if you really want to post on those threads, just think that it will not count as your gambling post at all.

With regards to the solution, I don't think it will be implemented or the mods will do something about it. It's the problem of the signature participant and not the mods. It's the participants that will adjust.

I personally think it's an end of an era with Warriors and they should think to trade some players if they still want Curry to be a on his top level for next year , because this year seems already like a lost one for them.
The Warriors are still on the top when it comes to offense. Number one in three points made and 5th in percentage and the 4th in points per game. The problem with the team right now is their defense. They are at the bottom this season when it comes to their defense compared to where it was last year. The change of players affected their defense for sure and we know that defense is a big key to a team's win. Just look the Celtics last season. They're one of the best, if not the best defensive team and they converted it to better offense thus, they went to the NBA Finals.

Then, we have Nets , who are kinda looks unstoppable in the last games , right ? Last night , VanFleet was simply on a godlike level but even with that , they couldn't even push the game to OT because Irving , like it or not , he is still one of the greatest in the current NBA era.
The Nets who started 2-5 on their first 7 games are now 16-7 on their last 23 games and now they are the 4th spot.

Durant is now on the MVP race after that bad start and now averaging close to 30 PPG while Kyrie is close to 25 PPG. Simmons is kind of silent still but he's still helping the team in any way he can. The expectation of the team changed when they changed the coach, and it seems like he's a good fit for the team. The Nets will enter the playoffs if they play like this all throughout the season and I just hope they will not get injured especially KD and Kyrie.
