The offer was for you not for opentoe. I am sure that he doesn't need my guarantees for this.

Well, if you are so sure the SP30 will ROI then why not guarantee it for everybody ?

The answer is because neither you nor anyone else can guarantee that it or any other machine currently on offer or pre-order will ROI.
To claim otherwise is fraudulent.

Because I don't have the finances to do it for everyone and I'm not speaking out of my ass like you do. If I say something I mean it and I always back it up with something. Promising it for anyone without having the money would mean that I would lie and I care about my integrity, not like you.

The guarantee isn't for ROI. It's only for shipping on time.

How many Neptunes you have on pre-order? Will you take a 0.5 BTC bet that no Neptune will ship this month?
2422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 15, 2014, 12:35:18 AM
Just looking back through some of the goings on in this KNC thread. This one caught my eye:

Raskul has proof that KNC won't get their 20nm chips until August …

Yes, I would say that what I have, is proof that it will be august before they get their chips, however, it's my proof and you are not getting to see it  Tongue

seriously though ...because my source would get the sack and i'm not being held responsible for that. Information fed via me means it could be one of 300 employees who leaked this info - so my source is safe (well, until that employee resigns).

Of course, we all know that it happened on the 2nd of June … http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/news-and-anouncments/44983-the-neptune-wafers-have-left-the-building

~L)L~

Of course we know that wafers have left the building. What you don't know is that it appears that there will be some problems. Let me refresh your memory about obstacles:

No "Official" press release, but sounds like they will begin shipping the Neptune next week according to their forum and Twitter.

http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/acccounts/45821-why-wont-knc-answer-valid-questions-important-questions-they-are-completely-ignoring?_=1402491925525

I can imagine there could be obstacles , he said , if they see any issues we should start hashing in their mining cloud.

WHAT???

I will brake my promise just for you since you said that you are a miner too. If you want to buy an SP30 I will guarantee it personally

There you go opentoe, RoadStress will 'brake' (sic) his promise and guarantee that if you order a SP30 it will ROI. I'll leave it up to you to negotiate the details of when it is guaranteed to ROI, and what compensation he will offer you if it doesn't.

The offer was for you not for opentoe. I am sure that he doesn't need my guarantees for this.

I don't think KnC will not ship any Neptune in August.

Double negative. Sounds like RoadStress is now agreeing that KNC with ship Neptune machines in August.

I have corrected that. It was a mistake. You haven't replied about the 0.5 BTC bet if KnC will ship any Neptune this month or not.

P.S. You can edit your posts you know. No need to post a new reply every time.
2424  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: June 15, 2014, 12:17:05 AM
The only person shilling here RoadStress is you. Check the signatures for confirmation.

And if RoadStress is so sure that the  SP30 will ROI, I'm sure he won't mind guaranteeing it personally. Right RoadStress ?

Being an affiliate for the best bitcoin mining company isn't actually shilling. It's called supporting the company while also giving back some to the community. As for guaranteeing I actually did it, but it was a one time offer and I got refused.

I would like to offer you a deal, but i want to make it only for you and it won't happen again and i don't want to have any influence for the rest of the group buy. I can offer to support your losses by fully repaying you in case of non-delivery in August. It's not much and it's only my word. I would get the scammer tag if i don't pay you and my reputation here will be over. You will need to agree it first and then after I post "I agree" it will be binding for me. I reserve the right to not agree it if there will be a lot of people that will complain that i'm trying to gather more units and if i feel that it's the wrong thing to do it, although until now this Group Buy is doing just fine.

I will brake my promise just for you since you said that you are a miner too. If you want to buy an SP30 I will guarantee it personally, but I know you won't.

Maybe I should ask it again but add "September". That's a whole month ahead of August and by that time I'm sure those KNC Neptune's will be out in swarms, which will put a pretty big dent in a September delivery. That is what I was thinking. Hey, that's what all miner's do, just sit and think and think and think. It is amazing how much just one month makes a difference in this "hobby".

My reply was aimed with September in mind. I don't think KnC will not ship any Neptune in August. Even if they ship you need to think that the whole network now is powered with equipment that is over 1W/GH. Having 0.5W/Gh is the way to go. There won't be a better offer for both $/GH and W/GH.

You need to think faster because as the days pass you will be further along the queue line or who knows maybe they will sell out faster than we think!
2425  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Bitcoin Wallet for Android on: June 14, 2014, 11:53:57 PM
Is this wallet still available? I can find Andreas Schildbach's apps on Google Play, all but the actual wallet.

I have the same question too. I see that there are few updates. Is this wallet ok to use? Besides having a problem when having lots of transactions is there any other big issue with this wallet?

Is there another decent/better Android Wallet?

I thought Mycelium is the successor of this wallet.

Thank you. I haven't read anything about Android wallets and when I started my research the information seems to be a bit scarce.

I think Android and iOS should have their own separate sub-forums for an easier access to information because when you enter the Alternative clients forum I saw the Android word and went straight there.

VPN is not that hard, more a matter of hardware. We are working on rolling it out to our 2 locations.

What hardware would they need to VPN? 1 server? More servers? There are numerous advantages of having VPN than to just give all miners a public IP.

Any one got a unit? Are these guys for real?

Also what date is June shipping?

If you ask if these guys are for real, you already know the answer to the question... Wink

No, they're for real.  They do have a cloud mining operation.  Where do you think those 750+ units they sold but never delivered went?

Real? We never saw any live demo of a unit. What chips do they use?

Dunno.  I haven't seen it, I was just doing a little educated guessing.  Last year they sold a ton of preorders for this Poseidon 3 unit as they call it.  They got the money, but never shipped any units (or some tiny amount like 10).  Now here they are a few months later offering cloud mining with Poseidon 3 units.  I was just putting two and two together; when I asked them this, they vehemently denied ever taking preorders and not delivering, then when I pointed out that THEY THEMSELVES told us about it in the OP, they said they didn't mean for it to happen, "it just happened".

So they haven't delivered any Poseidon, but you say they are real just because they are offering cloud hashing? You or anyone else don't know what equipment are they using for their cloud hashing so assuming that they are real is just wrong. Until we see a real live product I would just stay away.
2428  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: H/w Hosting Directory & Reputation on: June 14, 2014, 11:13:50 PM
They definately need better customer service for miners if they are serious about the whole thing.

My unit has been with them for 48 hours according to the DHL information, and is still not set up.

They charge 150€ in setup fees and then don´t set the unit up within an acceptable timeframe?

This was my test unit and i told them that i would be interested in a much bigger solution, but with them waiting two days to complete less than 10 minutes of work, i don´t see that happening.

I am loosing 36$ per day due to their inaction. I am going to try and get them to deduct that amount from the setup fee, as customer service at that level is a joke.

My local DC set up the unit in less than 10 minutes, and the guy had never seen a bitcoin miner. The Advania people are supposed to know their way around one and have indeed set up atleast one sp10 before this.

If they had any questions, they could have one of the tech people contact me, and i gave them more information than needed already, even including a setup guide with the shipment.

I think that the guy who set up my unit is in vacation until the end of the month and I suspect that they are a bit understaffed and that would explain the delay, but I would've expect a bit faster setup for your unit. The bad part is that the support won't be able to help you and they will need a real technician to do it. A simple TeamViewer would do the trick, but it seems that it's impossible. Oh well that's why we have this thread. Trial and error.

Electricity: 79 € per kW  p.a
Setup & Installation Fee: per device: 100 €

 Cool

My next SP10 will be hosted with you! When are you coming online? Will you offer bitcoin payments?

Post some picture from the datacenter! We are all geeks here and we love technology picture. Also since you are new here could you please post some references about your company history? No offense, but I wouldn't like to send my miner to you just to have it stolen.

Oh didn't got the Jupiter part. Well ok, but even so...having a normal 3TH/s Neptune at 0.7W/Gh you will have ~2.2TH/s(or something close) if you downclock it to 0.5W/GH which would suck considering that it costs so much.

If they can achieve 0.5w/gh at the wall, there is no reason they couldn't give you enough chips for 3th/s. And if they give 3th/s worth of underclocked chips we might see 6th/s overclocked neptunes.

It's pretty much up to knc how much hashrate they will give.

Although they have shown they don't really give a shit about their customers so who knows.

There is no room in the case to put more chips so they can't do it. And even if they could why would they sell something underclocked? It means less chips for them and by now we all know that they are greedy cunts so they will never ship underclocked stuff.
2431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 14, 2014, 09:36:20 PM
Also you mentioned that knc chips are capable of ~0.7w/gh at the wall. Got a source?

This comes from KnC's statement that the Neptune will require 30% less power than the Jupiter. No final/real numbers yet because there are no Neptunes.

No he said that the jupiter chips are capable of 0.7w/gh at the wall.

If that is possible then 0.5w/gh at the wall on 20nm should be possible.

Oh didn't got the Jupiter part. Well ok, but even so...having a normal 3TH/s Neptune at 0.7W/Gh you will have ~2.2TH/s(or something close) if you downclock it to 0.5W/GH which would suck considering that it costs so much.
2432  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: RK-BOX,450GH/S,480W ,shipping date 25th on: June 14, 2014, 09:22:16 PM
road stress has the best gear available in the world the sp10 and eventually the sp30 will be better gear.     But simple math shows  buying the rk-box is a better purchase .     I can earn from June 30th to Sept 30th   ...   The sp30 is delayed too long.

Also  if you are in the USA and buy a rx-box at .9btc you are not subject to US federal reporting laws.

A transfer of .9btc x 600 usd = 540 USD   UNDER THE CURRENT 600 TRANSFER LAW.  So I am looking to buy these and not worry about extra tax reporting.

I would have purchase an  in hand sp10 but was offered a deal in btc only not paypal. I was offered to buy an sp30 and that was also btc purchase.

I trusted the seller but with reporting laws I did not buy the gear.   My last over 600 usd purchase was a grid seed blade I did this purchase via paypal.

I did a purchase of 2800 for a 1th dragon miner  and that was paypal.

What make these rx box items interest me is the sale price will work with btc reporting laws of the USA.

These laws do not apply if you are not running a btc business, but i am so I have to report any 600 usd  of btc  transfer.

Thank you! Don't forget shipping costs too for the rx-box.

I don't understand how come you didn't get a SP10 for $2800 and you got a 1TH dragon miner, but it's your choice and I respect that.

I nominate Yifu Guo.  The avalon chip sale fiasco cost a lot of people a lot of money... and he certainly had enough funds that he *could* have done the right thing by his customers. Instead - he screwed over the end users as well as a number of promising miner assembly businesses.

+1 First ASIC on the market, also first one to fail/scam! This is pure and live bitcoin history.

*Not sure if he qualifies for the CEO position.

With the recent 51 % news, ASICMiner is the only company right now that can save bitcoin.

I must disagree!

What chip? Doesn't say in the advert for door #2.

Who knows, some "dream chip."

When are your "dream miners" being delivered?

That's not our company, just someone that likes our name. But based on the evidence, it does seem a bit like a scam. Or at least somewhat manipulative with the whole bitcoin payout thing. Ask theymos where the IP originates from..

I was asking about your own miners, but you didn't get it...

So why pay the expensive 20nm mask if you can get the same performance from a 28nm chip? What's the advantage?

You can get better performance from the 20nm chip.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_GPUs#Volcanic_Islands_.28Rx_200.29_Series  (for example)

You lack neurons. Really! I just told you that a 40nm chip has better performance than KnC's 28nm chip. This is real!

A 28nm chip will have better performance than KnC's 20nm chip. Are you that retarded to not get it?

Not at all.  Brucexie did it on BTCGuild and Eligius long before this.
2439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 14, 2014, 12:58:39 AM
A better/smaller process node is equal to zero if the performance is worse than a bigger process node. There is no advantage there. Why would I choose a 20nm Neptune that has ~0.7W/GH (just an assumption) when I can choose the 28nm SP30 chip that has 0.5W/GH at system level?

The Neptune can probably beat 0.5 very easily unless there's something wrong with the design/process, it's all about how much performance you have to sacrifice to reach a particular power target and if it makes sense at the time. Just look at the span on the bitmain 55nm chips, they can get anywhere from 1W/GH (probably a bit lower than that too) to 2,5W/GH depending on how high it makes sense to clock them and what voltage you need.

All things being equal 20nm will outperform 28nm for density/efficiency unless there are issues with the process/design, not saying a optimal 28nm design couldn't outperform a 20nm product, however as long as nothing is broken 20nm "KNC" will be better than 28nm KNC if you get what I mean so it ends up being better for them to rush 20nm.

The main reason that 20nm is no better than 28nm is the cost of the NRE, you get no performance/$ benefit and cant increase performance at a certain price point, hence why most of the industry is sitting back waiting.
KNC however took the easy route and had someone else fund their little enterprise so for them it made sense. The cost/transistor for 20nm will most likely drop below 28nm in 6-12months time and then KNC will have an advantage over the competitors who still are stuck on 28nm as long as they can match them on efficiency/density.

You are so clueless. SP10's chip that is on 40nm is more power efficient than Jupiter's chip that is on 28nm by far. (0.85W/Gh vs 1.1-1.2W/Gh at system level) SP30 will be at 0.5W/GH at system level which is on par with your prediction which will turn out false. I feel that Neptune will be 0.7W/GH which is worse than SP30. So why pay the expensive 20nm mask if you can get the same performance from a 28nm chip? What's the advantage?
2440  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: June 14, 2014, 12:53:04 AM
I guarantee that you will have a bigger profit margin on 1.2w/gh @ $0.1/kwh now vs 0.5w/gh @ $0.15/kwh in september.

Quote
Probably not much considering you could have it shipped via boat and have it in only a month.

Not your best day it seems. This is the second contradictory statement. Are they hashing now or in a month?

Their ROI will go down the toilet if they start hashing in a month when SP30 starts to ship and they will regret for sure not getting a more power efficient miner.
