2461  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Transaktion aus Blockchain gelöscht on: February 24, 2017, 09:09:54 AM
Majority of users here speak English, and in main board you should speak English or use local boards:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=16.0 (German)

Hey there, i have a problem.
10 days ago i did a transaktion with a too low fee. At the moment i have no confirmations. The website blockchain.info dont shows me the transaktion anymore. What can i do now to rescue the coins ?
Can somebody help me ?

better.
this means since your fee was lower than others your transaction has fallen out of the mempool which means bitcoin Nodes have forgotten about your transaction.

your bitcoin is back in your wallet and you can spend it again now. this time make sure to include a higher fee.

see this site for information about fees: http://bitcoinfees.21.co
2462  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin Costs 2000$ on: February 23, 2017, 11:23:52 AM
2000$ is just the beginning
$2000 doesn't look like the beginning. I think the beginning for the price moves from $1000, because bitcoin price is stabilizing around $1000-$1010 most of the recent periods upward and downward price variations. Only thing is that we'll get a stable price above $1000 for 2017.

The beginnning is the first price of Bitcoin if you want to put it that way.  But I guess the next chapter starts when Bitcoin break its ATH.  So possibly the beginning of the next chapter for Bitcoin will be $1200.  I hope Bitcoin will start its new chapter soon Smiley  The road to $2000.

these "chapters" aren't necessarily determined based on the price. it is mostly based on the news and all the other things that are going on with bitcoin.
for example the next "chapter" can be when the ETF's fate is finally clear. or the next chapter can be when something changes about the block size. in any case the rise is going to continue but slowly without these things.
2463  Economy / Economics / Re: How to take advantage of ETF? on: February 23, 2017, 10:59:30 AM
most of what you said has nothing to do with ETF then why did you put it in the title!

there tightened conversion controls in an attempt to curb capital outflows.

that may have been one of their reasons but the main reason for what Chinese authorities did is to regulate these exchanges and start fighting money laundering.

What strategy are you putting to profit specially in trading bitcoin?
Are you holding your bitcoin right now and will dump in later?
or are you just buying bitcoin and dumping it as soon as you
see profit ala arbitrage?

Can you please share your thoughts?

i am always a long term holder, these ups and downs you see and get excited (such as 14%) are too small for me. i am holding bitcoin for prices that are going to happen in a couple of years.
but right now i also sometimes do some short trading to take advantage of super volatility when it is happening. which for me it means selling after a spike and buy back more coins after a calm down.
2464  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1139.9 resistance broken, 1142.2 hit (Bitstamp) on: February 23, 2017, 10:53:09 AM
the notion of ATH is a bit lost to me, we are already at the All Time Highs withing $20 more because the last time price was this high we were experiencing a bubble and for me the real price of these days is always the All Time High not only because i wasn't around back then but also because this is a genuine price and can not go down.
2465  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What we can do to confirm transactions faster? on: February 23, 2017, 10:44:05 AM
why do you keep repeating developers, they are just developing the code, it is up to the users and miners to adopt that code. and right now we are waiting for the miners to adopt a solution which you can follow in a website such as coin.dance to see how many of them are signalling what.

p.s. if you want to know about any of the solutions and see if it is good or bad, then read about it yourself from the code or ask someone whom you trust to explain it to you. otherwise you will get so many false information if you just read the comments around here.
2466  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What we can do to confirm transactions faster? on: February 23, 2017, 10:36:33 AM
the only thing you can do is to pay higher fees for the time being until this spam attack on the network is resolved otherwise you are just going to be stuck on thousands of transactions that are paying more than you.
2467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC be the major currency ? Maths says NO on: February 22, 2017, 11:59:34 AM
So do i have misscalculated ? Is my source wrong ? How would you say this problem can be fixed ?

i can't find any problem with your calculation, but i see a big problem here:

if all money is replaced by BTC

like many other hypothetical questions around here, you are making a big assumption without realizing how big and in some cases how unrealistic that sounds.

and the solution is not as hard as your calculations and assumptions.
in case bitcoin became so expensive that 1 satoshi was worth #### USD then the code can be changed with consensus and a fork to have units lower than 1 satoshi.

p.s. remember that there is no such thing as 1 bitcoin 21 million bitcoin. there is only satoshi.
2468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [LTC] Litecoin short and long term speculation? on: February 22, 2017, 11:51:37 AM
litecoin price movement is so depressing sometimes when you are checking the price of LTC versus BTC (meaning 0.00358BTC in OP) but that would only work if bitcoin price was stable. because that could clearly show the movement correctly.

but litecoin price is mostly changing with USD not BTC. that is why it is best if you check the LTC/USD price like the chart in post #9 to see the real price movement and then check the BTC market. that way speculation about litecoin price becomes easier.

in short when price of bitcoin goes from $1000 to $1110 (11%) if LTC/BTC stays the same, that means litecoin also was pumped 11% and that can not happen out of nowhere.
so it goes down keeping the USD value and then rising a bit because of bitcoin.
2469  Economy / Speculation / Re: THE DUMP on: February 22, 2017, 11:45:30 AM
Just sold my trading stash. Price is climbing too fast. Short  positions prepared at 1140 USD. Lots of them...

Some times I get the impression that you have so much in common with kwukduck, but you seem to be a whole lot less rebellious. Price is climbing as people are anticipating on the ETF that may or may not get approved next month. Until that day I am sure that we'll keep seeing the price increase to perhaps $1200 and who knows a tiny bit higher. In case it does get approved, you'll be finding yourself in a bad position since your shorts have been timed inappropriately. Only time will tell...

i have had the exact same idea.
but from what i have seen in all these years, there are a couple of these guys around with some newbies wannabe like them.
the biggest ones are kwukduck and ltcbtclitecoinbitcoin and with some smaller dosage OP.

this comes from the mentality that these guys think their spam here has any significant effect. and to be honest it may have some effect but it would be only on some newbies who want to either enter with a tiny amount (less than $500) or have that tiny amount and panic sell. and in a market as big as bitcoin these newbies are nothing and their shorts will never be filled.

- that is my speculation Cool
2470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Egad. 81,000 + Transactions Unconfirmed. Again. Ugh! on: February 22, 2017, 11:39:47 AM
Anytime BTC unconfirmed transactions are more 10,000 ,
I use LTC or Eth or Doge until it drops back down.

So exactly what are you using BTC for that the others won't work?

- buy a game on steam
- pay for my VPN subscription
- add money to my Microsoft account
- recharge my mobile
- buy something from OpenBazaar
- pay for lots of other small services
- buy giftcards that you seem to be so fund of.
- transfer money to someone else through bitcoin so that he can sell it easily all the way on the other side of the word and there is noone accepting altcoins for fiat there.

and many more that i can not think of right now (since the above are things that i have done but there are more), and none of them are possible with any of the altcoins. specially not with ETH Cheesy
2471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Once again, please explain to me why this is acceptable... on: February 22, 2017, 11:31:56 AM
it is simple we need to upgrade. not just the block size but also a new upgrade to fight the spam attack. increasing the fees is not a solution to fight spam but a way to give more money to greedy miners.
this is obviously not all legit transactions! out of this 80K there is at least 50K spam transaction.

Has anyone analysed the fee structure of the uncnfirmed transactions. Are any of them low fee spam transactions?

the spam transactions are no longer low fee, they actually include higher fees than normal sometimes.
2472  Economy / Economics / Re: After Chinese exchange comeback ? on: February 21, 2017, 12:21:52 PM
when Chinese exchanges come back after 1-2 months (if the suspension is not expanded) they will come back to $1300 at least and that means they have missed a lot of chance to buy bitcoin and join in the rise and if the rules are not changed they will join and price can even go higher.

but it is also worth mentioning that Chinese are still buying bitcoin with even more persistance. you can check out the volume on any other place than OkCoin,... such as localbitcoins,...
2473  Other / Off-topic / Re: How are you earning BTC? on: February 21, 2017, 12:16:24 PM
it is so sad to see so many people here just saying the same boring methods of earning such as signature campaigns and faucets an gambling!! and you never see anyone saying "i have a business and i earn bitcoin on my own with the services that i provide!"

i say this because i use all of the above methods and trading but it has been some time that i am offering bitcoin exchange for local currency in my country, and since there were no other person around the business is good so far Smiley
i may even start an official exchange website integrating the local banks for depositing fiat if i can find out about legality of it here.
2474  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed by seller in bitcointalk, why bitcoins are not to be trusted on: February 21, 2017, 12:07:12 PM
Okay ur right, but we buy without trust in paypal too, i am myself a seller where people who dont know me buy from me all the time in faith paypal will help.
then continue using Paypal if you are satisfied with the chargeback it has and you are not one of the millions of people who have been scammed because of charge back of Paypal.

Quote
Where will somebody from bitcoins help if it goes wrong?
bitcointalk is just a platform that allows people to connect to each other and i don't think they are required to vet everyone that comes in.

Quote
I didnt read escrow option but its all complicated I think for person who starts.
just try to learn from this mistake and next time educate yourself before using something new whether it is bitcoin or any other thing you use.

Quote
He told me to buy bitcoins from paxful and send i to him and thats what I did.

If somebody is not trustworthy in ur forum, better delete profile of person if he is risky else people coming from organic traffic like me siffer,
well, scammers will be tagged eventually as a warning to others and worse cases i suppose they will be banned if proven.

but the solution is very simple. you use escrow!
you find someone who is trusted and tell him to hold the funds and you make the trade if it went through you tell the escrow to release the funds.
better yet, learn about "multi signature" and use a 2 out of 3 signature with the escrow. in short, that means 2 out of 3 person should sign the transaction for it to go through, it can be either escrow and seller or escrow and buyer, that way you don't have to put any trust on escrow either.
2475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 21, 2017, 11:59:37 AM
The slower the price goes up now, the more the price will go up in the future.

You guys will be in for a ride

I prefer slow & steady, less chance of those crippling dumps then.

Regardless I'm ready to go.

[i m g]https://media3.giphy.com/media/pdtaN3WCeipkQ/200w_s.gif[/img]

as long as manipulators exist in the world dumps will exist too, the size of the dump will shrink though, as the number of panic sellers shrink since they are the ones who snow-ball the dump to the ground not the real initial dump.
2476  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed by seller in bitcointalk, why bitcoins are not to be trusted on: February 21, 2017, 11:52:27 AM
i am sorry to hear about your loss but trust system is put there for people like you to read: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=926839

it is even written in red so you can't miss it. when opening the trust it says USE ESCROW

also why did you even trust an unknown random person on the internet and send your money to him without knowing who he is, what kind of history he had, or whether or not he is trusted?
2477  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the problems you experience while performing arbitraj? on: February 19, 2017, 11:32:53 AM
the biggest problem in arbitrage trading is always going to be the price difference and the fees involved with the process of doing this type of trading.
and it is very easy to calculate these things too.
just open up an excel spreadsheet and put in the price of first an second exchange for buy and sell bitcoin and also check out their fees and include those too. then make the trade in excel with numbers and see the final result.
2478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: You have 10 seconds to post an altcoin that you think will go 100% in 3 months on: February 19, 2017, 11:26:20 AM
I think Komodo [KMD] can doubled next month.
Yeah, no doubt but they are at the dump phase. and the price will always steady below the ico price. but their development is really promising for the future. I hold enough KMD coin.  Grin

why else do you think many are talking about KMD? if it was pre-pump and was getting ready for the moon, you wouldn't have heard a sound out of anyone about it.

topics like this will always attract this type of answers. people buy into the pump and then start talking about it so maybe they can either make more profit or can dump their coins at the price they bought at so they can get out.
2479  Economy / Economics / Re: Washington Post declares Bitcoin dead - R.I.P. on: February 19, 2017, 11:18:26 AM
some people want their names to be written in the history and not everyone can be a hero, we need jesters and idiots too. and this is one of the examples of the second group. Mike Hearn is now a part of history as an idiot who was butthurt and spread some FUD.

it is one year later from that article and it will soon be 10 years and we will still be laughing at him. some of us not and some others will understand and laugh later.
2480  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at $1050.. China "inspection" has to be coming. on: February 19, 2017, 11:11:10 AM
China has lost their share of the market since their exchanges went out of the scene and they no longer are relevant to bitcoin price. we may see some random FUD here and there but no more inspections, suspension,.... can affect bitcoin price as big as they used to.

besides, if you really think about it with some logic. no amount of inspection or even disabling of exchanges can stop bitcoin price from going up, because as we can evidently see, people will continue buying bitcoin even if it means going to a back alley and exchanging bitcoin with cash as they are currently doing in China and on localbitcoins.
