1761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: fees for altcoin? on: September 02, 2017, 09:32:03 AM
every altcoin that i have seen so far has transaction fees! although if you ask me i say they shouldn't have any fees at all!

but in any case if you are interested in finding out how the fees of each altcoin are i suggest checking out this site: https://bitinfocharts.com/
it has a lot of other nice information about other coins (mostly the top and popular coins), it didn't have Waves!

ETH that you asked for has a $0.7 fee these days. but it fluctuates. check here for the average: https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/ethereum-transactionfees.html#3m
1762  Economy / Speculation / Re: Atomic chain swap between btc and ltc on: September 02, 2017, 09:22:29 AM
Litecoin is the fastest and the fee is very low. Litecoin had suffer over the years in terms of price. Bitcoin always take the shine. Lee has been so consistent. It is time for litecoin to shine

the speed is nearly the same as bitcoin, maybe a little bit faster because you will require more than a certain number of confirmation (usually 6+) until you can consider it final. and the fees are low but not the lowest.
Litecoin also doesn't really offer much different stuff although it is a better coin than half of the altcoins. and that is the reason for its high price and the rising price is because of the SegWit and more associated with bitcoin.
1763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So I sold my BCC ... on: September 01, 2017, 09:46:02 AM
  • Can it be good for the crypto economy if a load of money suddenly appears out of nowhere?
no it is not. but since this is not the first time an airdrop like this happened and nothing has happened so far, i can say the negative effects are not that big.

besides this is not the only time people get "loads of money out of nowhere". at the beginning of this year every single altcoin was pumped and each of them went up at least twice and some even went up 6000% and that is a lot of "money out of nowhere" for a lot of traders.

Quote
  • How much BCC immediately got converted back into BTC?
not that much actually.
many people never bothered to claim it. many don't even know about it, many don't know how! and many are holding it because they have small amount that is not worth selling or they think it can go up maybe!
the number of transactions shows there aren't really that many who are transferring their BCC to sell.

Quote
  • What's to stop people forking again, just to make a killing like this?
nothing Tongue

Quote
Was BCC good or bad in this respect?
it is good because it proves that if people don't want something it will become a useless altcoin and if they want it then nothing can stop it from growing. we will see which one is true in the long term.

but it is bad because it is similar to bitcoin as far things like mining goes but yet different which makes things a bit complicated. for example BCC's fast difficulty change is creating a seesaw for miners to switch back and forth (theoretically) and it can cause issues. and we saw it once already.
1764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats ETH value based on on: September 01, 2017, 09:36:46 AM
its value like so many other altcoins is based on pump and dumps and all the things that can contribute to its pump. for ethereum these things are all the ICOs that are being created on this platform. almost all of them are only accepting ETH tokens if you want to buy in their ICO phase and that creates some fake demand.

and so far the market for ICO is the hottest and their numbers is only increasing as time goes by. but at the same time the number of shitty, scammy ones is growing too. and that means a huge dump in the future.
1765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: traceability on: September 01, 2017, 09:27:33 AM
I read on several websites that especially gov agencies are not capable of tracing bitcoing transactions.
all those website are wrong. or possibly you didn't read the full thing to understand it.

bitcoin transactions aren't exactly traceable to you but they are not anonymous either. it is somewhere in between.
since everything is public, you can see everything on the blockchain and using this you can do some analysis and come up with some results about where the funds come and go and possibly tell who they belong to. but this is not 100% and will never be 100%.

On the other hand I read that Monero at this moment has the most security in tracing. Is this true ?
so far Monero is the best cryptocurrency with anonymous transactions that others.
1766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the idea behind Bitcoin already raped and abused? on: September 01, 2017, 09:21:50 AM
the idea behind bitcoin is what it is and will always remain just that. you can't do anything to it. any other project that has some real ideas behind it will also succeed.

but what is "raped and abused" is what all these ICOs are doing these days.
there is absolutely no need for any of their existence. they do nothing, contribute to nothing in the world. they just exist. and worst part is they are asking for money to just exist! and that is absurd!

many won't like what i am saying here, but that is how i see things.
if tomorrow all these ICOs were to vanish, nothing in the whole world would change.
and if they continue to be, again nothing in the whole world would change because they aren't doing anything!
1767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest threats to Bitcoin prices in next 12 months on: September 01, 2017, 09:15:39 AM
the biggest threat to bitcoin is always going to be its users in my opinion.

bitcoin is decentralized and the burden of supporting it and keeping it strong and alive will always be on the shoulders of every single user that is involved with bitcoin. some more than others. for example the miners and those with a full node have a bigger influence than someone with an SPV wallet and a small sum of bitcoin.

if people educate themselves and stay aware of everything that is going on with bitcoin, there is nothing in the whole world that can threaten bitcoin.
1768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Small Cap Altcoin Picks - Who do you like? on: August 31, 2017, 01:52:06 PM
nothing of what you just said is correct!

[...] small cap alt coins. [.....] I like Ripple, long term.

Ripple is currently the 3rd in market cap and not so long ago it was the first even higher than bitcoin!

and as far as your "Long Term" goes, here is how your Ripple has been performing in long term: a slow agonizing drop down from 25,000 to 5,000
1769  Economy / Economics / Re: advantages of trading satoshis instead of whole bitcoins on: August 31, 2017, 01:39:45 PM
it is just the common misunderstanding because of the interface that wallets and exchanges use. in fact at code base there is nothing called "bitcoin" there is only satoshis. you send 1,000,000 satoshi not 0.01 bitcoin.

but since everything is old and a long time ago it bitcoin was worth less than a dollar, i think that is why it has still stuck with us.

but other smaller units exist https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Units and there are a lot of them. i also agree with using Satoshi. it is best and easiest to understand instead of mBTC, uBTC, Bits,...

Google did something similar with their stocks. The primary google stock become to expensive, so they started a cheaper one.

since bitcoin is decentralized it would take time. i think at some point the wallets need to start using Satoshi in the interface as price goes higher. currently 1000 satoshi is about 4.6 US cents. and pretty soon 100 satoshi will be 1 US cent too. and that would be a start.
1770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin mainstream on: August 31, 2017, 01:20:28 PM
if bitcoin goes mainstream "ransomeware" will die because by then it means people finally have realized that bitcoin is not anonymous and ransomeware will either die or switch back to the good old US dollar that it has been using for years before bitcoin ever existed.
1771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I need your advice, please on: August 30, 2017, 10:23:16 AM
Hello,

I want to make a new portofolio. I have 10k EUR and I don't know what crypto to get in my portofolio. I want only altcoins, but I want a rise with minimum 2x until December.
What do you think?

Thanks,
Adrian

a very good plan but the only issue is that you need experience in this market if you want to succeed. it may seem easy to double your money in a month using altcoins when you look at things from the outside but when you actually make the investment and you make a huge investment that is when things start to crumble.

first issue will be choosing coins to invest in.
the second issue will be when the first dip happens. a simple 10% drop is $1000 lost, just like that.
third issue will be handling multiple altcoins. 3 simple 10% drops is $3000 lost just like that.

so first try to understand this market and invest in 1, then go bigger. you can't start at the last step. you need to take the steps one at a time.
1772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash Stuck?! on: August 30, 2017, 09:52:23 AM
why don't miners make a mind to either support btc or bch?

they have made up their minds. they support more money!
all miners are like this, it is not just bitcoin miners and it is not just bitmain,... that people like to repeat. every miner (even solo miners at home mining altcoins with their GPU or CPU) are always looking for a way to make more profit. when something is giving them more money they will switch there.

BCH was temporarily like this, they could potentially make a lot more so they switched a part of their power there and then back again to bitcoin that matters.
1773  Economy / Speculation / Re: Less Volatility Is Needed? on: August 30, 2017, 09:45:45 AM
bitcoin price is determined on exchanges and these exchanges are still very small despite seemingly having high daily volumes. if you look at the order books a small volume can change the price a lot and that is contributing to the big swings and the volatility, big time.

although to be fair this has been getting a smaller issue as time goes by and more people are starting to get involved with bitcoin. but we are still far from the day where there is little volatility and price is above 100K
1774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Satoshi Nakamoto transact 3000pcs bitcoin to test SW today? on: August 30, 2017, 09:39:37 AM
Reviewed a news from webo.com that "Satoshi Nakamoto seemly transacted 3000pcs bitcoin to test SW today".

If it is true, will it influence the current Bitcoin market?

Can you provide the link then, because I haven't read it in major publications online. If its not verified then its a fake news.

i don't know what the hell is "pcs" but there was a transaction recently that moved about 3000BTC from very old keys belonging to 2010 and all were mining rewards.

also this has nothing to do with Satoshi or testing SegWit. and it was not even today. https://blockchain.info/tx/4b60dc9cd051f4489420018bf52ead4f1f1377b0e0b4f2bc552f31b2649230ab
1775  Economy / Economics / Re: Forking Dilemma:The ticking time bomb that will render cryptos untenable... on: August 28, 2017, 08:51:25 AM
the thing is "there is money to be made", and that is the root of all the problems ever existed in crypto sphere!

from early days, there have been a large number of people who have only been interested in one thing and one thing only: to earn more money.
the most obvious way is to buy, invest, earn,... but the harder way to make even bigger has always been to create something new and "bling-y" so that you attract more attention.
the new altcoin creation has always been a thing.

that "bling" in this case was the use of bitcoin's name + Satoshi's name + taking advantage of issues bitcoin is facing. now there is an additional way of making money called BCH.
* users made money for free because it was an airdrop
* traders made a lot of money because they know how pump and dumps work
* miners made even more because they had the hashpower and knew how to abuse EDA which was implemented for this very reason.

sadly there is nothing we can do to stop this. it is how the world works. a bunch of greedy people taking advantage of anything that moves!
1776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese never seizes to amaze on: August 28, 2017, 08:43:18 AM
hah i said this over a year ago.. if bitcoin goes mainstream you will see small mining chips in almost every electronic device.. the manufactures will probably subsidise the equipment because of it.

1 small mining chip by itself does nothing.. but can you imagine a company like sony putting them in tvs and stuff.

of course there will probably be hacks to root your tv so you can change the mining pool lol..

but how much will you even earn!
mining bitcoin is not easy, the difficulty is very high. and if something like this happens and a lot of small chips come online and start mining, the difficulty will go even higher and that makes it even harder to find a block. and how much will you get paid for being 1 in a thousands of chips? 1 satoshi? 100 satoshi? per day?
and that is when you will be paying a much higher electric bill!
1777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3 months in. on: August 28, 2017, 08:36:07 AM
Hi all. So I'm three months in to crypto. Heard about BTC a number of years ago but found it hard to buy, so gave up. Doh. Oh well.
there is absolutely nothing hard about buying bitcoin. and in comparison buying altcoins is 100 times harder than buying bitcoin. there is only two ways you buy them:
1. with bitcoin!!!
2. with fiat, then if you can deposit fiat you shouldn't have trouble with buying bitcoin. and besides some of the exchanges having this option (like Yobit, c-cex, btc-e) are not really safe to use.

Quote
So here we are. 12 coins purchased at various prices and amounts. I'm sitting at a +35% increase on my capital. Low point was mid July at -47%. Ouch.
if you are new to this then you shouldn't really go big!
buying 12 coins is just going to cause you more headache that you can normally handle in a completely new market that you found out about 3 months ago!!!
that -47% was like a warning for you to tread more carefully. i hope you listened to it.
1778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The newly found block has size larger than 1MB? on: August 28, 2017, 08:27:25 AM
-snipped stupid meme-

your mining overlords that you are currently shilling for, have already proven that they only created bitcoin cash to make more money this year. they have implemented this little thing for their profitability called EDA and they are using it the best they can to milk the cow called BCH.

{insert a cow meme with BCH+EDA branded on its butt with bitmain holding the hot branding iron here}
1779  Economy / Speculation / Re: When kwukduck says bitcoin will surge, SELL EVERYTHING on: August 28, 2017, 08:19:09 AM
i once said that kwukduck is like the little green leaves that grow on the trees after a hard winter. he is the first sing of the coming spring. Smiley
each time there is a panic sell, dump, FUD,... and price tanks hard, kwukduck comes here and starts his FUD an as soon as he starts it, the market turns and it is reversed starting its surge upwards to the moon.

no exceptions!
1780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about these altcoins for long term investment on: August 27, 2017, 01:01:12 PM
For the past few days, I have been investing in some altcoins, I managed to invest in civic, nxt, dogecoin, reddcoin, and I am willing to hold these coins for a few years from now. I just hope that I will benefit from all the investments I have made so far.

i am not familiar with civic.

NXT is decent enough and it is mostly stable with small bumps, so don't expect much profit from it.

Dogecoin is a crappy coin that has no cap and there is billions of it available and there is only one future for it: drop down to zero

RDD: is more of a short term investment. it is the same as Dogecoin with no future and a huge supply. it will also go down to zero. but for the time being it is being hyped up because of Redd-ID and has a pump. there is also stake reward if you are into it.
