1561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which one? on: October 29, 2017, 10:16:09 AM
bitcoin for long term and the rest only are good as short term investments.

for example you can see how bitcoin price is rising in the long term, so you should buy and hold some in cold storage and don't touch it for years.

also you can see how Bitcoin Cash is getting pumped these days, these pumps of altcoins like this are always good chance for making a lot of profit. you invest in them short term to take the profit and sell after you do.
1562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why BTC going up on: October 29, 2017, 10:01:13 AM
alt coin market is unstable in this time because BTC is going up.

altcoin market is always unstable and now it is so because they have been pumped an the altcoin bubbles are busting and the prices come down over there.
it has nothing to do with bitcoin. the only connection can be the fact that bitcoin rise causes the altcoin dump process to speed up. that is all.
1563  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Big News From China" is spreading false information, Exchangers are banned ! on: October 29, 2017, 06:34:03 AM
Huobi, which is one of the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges in China, will resume its operation at 12:00, 26th, October (China Time) and they have also announce that with that resume of operations they will also add USDT to their platform to increase the convenience and compete with other exchanges that already have it.

1564  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Gold hard fork has happened on: October 29, 2017, 04:25:31 AM
not it has not yet happened. the hard fork is apparently scheduled to happen on November 1. what is already over is the block that they used as their reference for distributing the BTG coins.

you can already see what the bitcoin price is!
and you can also see the BTG price which is very different in different exchanges. i have not checked bitfinex yet but in yobit it was 0.08BTC=456$
If that is correct that seems like a great opportunity to do some arbitrage between the exchanges, unfortunately I’m not into that kind of thing so I wont be able to take advantage of that opportunity but I’m sure there are any people in the forum that could do it if they have the right tools and knowledge.

the coin is not released yet. these exchanges only gave their users some promised fake tokens which will only work on their platforms so that you can trade them.

in other words there is no blockchain available for you to buy at one place then transfer the tokens using the BTG network to other exchange to sell. that is why the difference exists!
1565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fees make me angry on: October 29, 2017, 04:20:48 AM
it's way too much . i pay higher on fees than the amount i'm sending to people
and i work a lot with bitcoin on small amounts..
you can combine all the payments into one transaction to save time and fee.
you can also use an altcoin which had really low fee not some altcoin that already has high fee like ETH. use litecoin for example.

Quote
The best solution i found now is  pay using ETH , then convert it to BTC using changelly. (something like 0.2$ fees) and its automatic.
Shapeshift is also take huge fees and blockchain.info support it to be part of their site. (don't use) .
i am curious to know how you "pay with eth". nowhere really accepts ETH as payment. unless you are paying someone for some job they did and forcing them to accept it.
and also ETH has one of the highest fees altcoins can have.
compare to it other altcoins have much lower fees. why not choose one of them?
1566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Hack Bitcoin - Let's Talk Real How its Done - Being Done on: October 29, 2017, 04:12:59 AM
you are indeed a fool and you are misleading people.

1&2) the first 2 options are not even "hacking bitcoin"!

3) option number 3 is a brainwallet and again has nothing to do with bitcoin. it is like breaking a weak password.

4) you think SHA256 or eliptic curve cryptography is only for bitcoin? no, they are being used in most places. even banks and other security related places. if there was the smallest chance of them being broken all these places would have switched in a heartbeat.

5) that is a joke made to do two things: first to run through a list of private key from 0, 1, 2,...., 10000, 1million,... and so on and in that list find the private key which were placed there to be found by a puzzle and take the reward of that puzzle. and secondly to use the backdoor that the script has to run malicious code on the computer of users who are fool enough to run that collider

In summary its easy to ROB BTC community, its probably easier to mine BTC's with an antminer rather than 'brute force' find a valid private-key with BTC funds.
it is always easier to "rob" people. but it is impossible to hack bitcoin, and you will have a much much much easier time mining bitcoin with the same power than you have hacking it.
1567  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Big News From China" is spreading false information, Exchangers are banned ! on: October 28, 2017, 11:46:51 AM
In conclusion, exchange of bitcoin or any crypto for fiat or reverse is banned in China. stop spreading false information.

unless you can give us the official Chinese government announcement saying "exchange of cryptocurrences with CNY is banned", you are spreading FUD.

they have closed exchanges. true.
these exchanges were big and were working with CNY. true.
but it doesn't mean they have banned trading of cryptocurrencies. there are still other exchanges and people are trading them easily. you can check out localbitcoins and the huge CNY volume that comes out of there if you want.

Yo fuder. here is the info you asked, you are welcome.

"中国人民银行 中央网信办 工业和信息化部 工商总局 银监会 证监会 保监会 关于防范代币发行融资风险的公告 04/09/2017" Announcement issued by "People's of China Central Bank, Internet Information Regulation Office, Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Trade and Industry Bureau, Banking Regulatory Commission, Securities Regulatory Commission, Insurance Regulatory Commission 04/09/2017"

"三、加强代币融资交易平台的管理
本公告发布之日起,任何所谓的代币融资交易平台不得从事法定货币与代币、“虚拟货币”相互之间的兑换业务,不得买卖或作为中央对手方买卖代币或“虚拟货币”,不得为代币或“虚拟货币”提供定价、信息中介等服务。"
Chapiter 3,
Since the day of this announcement, any kind of so called cryptocurrencies exchange
shouldn't provide fiat CNY <--> cryptocurrencies nor cryptocurrencies <-> other cryptocurrencies trading service,
shouldn't sell/buy cryptocurrencies,
shouldn't set/provide price index for cryptocurrencies,
shouldn't act as trading escrow (p2p) neither.

cryptocurrencies = all kinds of cryptocurrencies, bitcoin, altcoins, shitcoins, ico scam coins, myass coin, fud gold, fake money, talkbitcoin fuddermonies or whatever..

Exchangers should be thankful to be given some delay (until the end of this month) to close down and clear the house and refund client's fund.
Now, you cool?

i read the page three times now. all i can conclude is that this article is talking about ICOs and how they are disguised way of illegal fund raising and because of that they are closing exchanges.

and i can still see large trading volume coming from localbitcoins in China and other places with CNY.
1568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell alts for Bitcoin on: October 28, 2017, 11:07:53 AM
it is impossible to say for sure, all we can do is guess.

and my guess is that bitcoin may have some small downtime for a short period of time since there is not much time left before the fork and in that time two very good opportunities will represent themselves:
1. at least some altcoins will have huge pumps which mean a lot of profit.
2. bitcoin will be in a dip and that means buying opportunity before the for happens and if 2x thing becomes a new altcoin you get more money out of it too.
1569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit 2x warplan revealed by 2x insider [RED ALERT] on: October 28, 2017, 10:54:18 AM
It seems like their plan is already in place with Bcash rising in value !!! Although this could be a mere coincidence !

this has been the plan all along, i don't think all this article is true and i am doubtful about the "insider" thing too. but there has never been any doubt about bitcoin cash pumping the price because of bitcoin's upcoming SegWit2x thing.

it was even speculated multiple times by traders.
you know this is not a new thing to happen in this world either. just this year about 7-9 months ago the same so called "insiders" from Dash community said they have been behind the spam attack on bitcoin and as expected Dash and ETH and a couple of other altcoins were the ones that benefited from that spam attack and their pumping motto was "we will replace bitcoin because it is slow".

the same thing is happening today and will happen again the future.
1570  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin can never go past $7000 on: October 28, 2017, 10:43:37 AM
Bitcoin's volatility has been steadily decreasing over time,
a quick look at a price chart will clearly tell you how wrong this statement is. the volatility is actually increasing by time. it still has not reached the maximum rate of volatility. until then the price will rise faster and faster every day.
that is the main factor for any kind of adoption based technology.

Quote
which means huge price movements upwards are less likely than ever.
quite opposite. the bigger price movements are becoming more common.

Quote
I think 5000-6000 range is the correct or fair price, so selling at the higher end of this range would bring profit at least and then I think alt coins start making more sense at that point
they said the same thing back at $1200 that is why the first rise afterwards was huge. then they said the same about $2000 and same story was repeated. they repeated the same a couple of more times but each time people paid less attention to it because they knew it has never been true.
1571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has Dogecoin reached it's full potential (Price)? on: October 28, 2017, 10:36:31 AM
not it has not yet reached its full potential because the full potential of Dogecoin is to be worth 1 satoshi to 0.01 satoshi and since it is not there yet, i say we still have more time at high prices and more pumps until that day comes.

the large and unstoppable supply of Doge guarantees reaching there too so you don't have anything to worry about Wink
1572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Billionaire Investor Warren Buffett Says ... Bitcoin in 'Bubble' Territory on: October 28, 2017, 10:20:26 AM
Warren Buffett has always been so negative about bitcoin. he takes any opportunity to call bitcoin out like this. and now is a perfect time to start and have a good chance of being right. like what JP Morgan's CEO did recently back when there was a correction on the way.

there is always some sort of benefit for them to say these things though. we saw Jaime Dimon's action led to them investing a lot in bitcoin when price dropped. now Warren Buffett may not be directly benefiting from this but if it wasn't somehow beneficial for him, he wouldn't have spoken about bitcoin at all.
1573  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 22 hours+ and no confirmations with Electrum's recommended fee! on: October 28, 2017, 10:14:19 AM
your first transaction (879d88...) has a low fee, that is why it is taking too long to confirm. there is a big backlog in the mempool, probably another spam attack, which means you have to pay a higher fee.
your second transaction (75376b9...) is the same with 60 satoshi/bte. you probably chose the lowest fee of Electrum

your last transaction is different though (adfdfae...) that one is spending 4 unconfirmed transactions and until all those 4 transactions are confirmed this tx won't be.

next time try to pull the slider more to the right so that you can get a better priority for your transactions.
1574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why aren't any ALTS picking up post BTC-BTG fork? on: October 27, 2017, 12:28:51 PM
that is be cause people never do that. by the end of the day everyone goes back to bitcoin despite what they may claim (lie) about in public. there are of course others who will always be bag holders but that is a different story.

the prices of altcoins went up though. so your expectation was not that far off the mark. but they never went to the moon as you may have thought because they weren't ready for a pump as long as the dumping was ongoing and the alt bubbles still intact.
1575  Economy / Economics / Re: If the powerful governments wanted to, do you think they could stop Bitcoin? on: October 27, 2017, 12:03:59 PM
first thing you need to know is that why would a government want to do this? the government is not above the law, they can not force unacceptable and illogical laws upon their people. and people want bitcoin and this will only increase. not to mention that because bitcoin is global, banning bitcoin means shooting yourself in the foot!

additionally, since bitcoin is decentralized which means bitcoin is peer to peer, nobody can interfere in this. you can look at how torrents work. the government has been trying for years to fight illegal torrents aka pirating, but they have been failing miserably. and pirating is growing day by day.
bitcoin is not even illegal or immoral thing like pirating. it is like torrenting Ubuntu for example.

1577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2X:Users care which side wins? Or do they? on: October 27, 2017, 11:41:20 AM
i think a better question would be "how many users understand which side is correct and by how much?"

that in my opinion is the most important question that should concern everyone. are people just blindly following, investing, dreaming about the future? or are they actually knowledgeable enough to at least understand why things like bitcoin cash are bad or maybe even good?

that is one of the things that occupies my thoughts these days. and i try to educate myself enough so that whey i say i am against BCH fork (or Segwit2x or others in the future) i say it because i understand what i am saying (even if i am wrong) not just following what others say emotionally.
1578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Not The Best? But... on: October 27, 2017, 11:33:14 AM
the "best" does not exist in the world we live in. if anyone wants "the best" they have to move to an alternate universe where unicorns fly above.

Bitcoin is not really so anonymous which give rise to Monero or Bytecoin, coins performing much better along this realm.

the average Joe has proven so far that they do not care about more anonymity than what bitcoin is offering them. otherwise we would have been using Moreno in all the shops not bitcoin and cash.

Compared to Ethereum or even XEM, we still have to see a myriad of extra utilities  or features which can convey to us that indeed Bitcoin is the future.

i am not that familiar with XEM but ethereum doesn't really have any "utility or feature" apart from smart contracts. and it is idiotic to even begin to compare eth (a token) with bitcoin (a currency) if you ask me.
1579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is that it? Too late for BTG? on: October 24, 2017, 10:57:46 AM
when you are talking about investing in altcoins generally then no it is never too late, there is always some altcoins that are rising. even a couple of days ago when the prices of all altcoins were dropping hard, some altcoins were still rising.
that is how the pump and dump (manipulated) market works. the coins go up for no reason. you just have to be lucky and get in at the right time and be wise enough to get out at the right time.
1580  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be careful. (Newbies and others ...) on: October 24, 2017, 10:42:12 AM
Can somebody explain what is ETF? I'm glad to read an optimistic speculation. It's probably true that there is high posibility that price will decrease but I hope price will increase.

that is short for Exchange Traded Fund. you can read more about it here: http://www.investopedia.com/terms/e/etf.asp

a lot of the things that he said are open for debate though. for example this ETF that you mention can be a good thing as a positive news for bitcoin and puts it in mind of some potential investors but i don't think it will be the reason for a rise to $10k, specially since it was posted last month and price was $3500-$4300.
one reason for it is because the money for ETF is already in the market and anybody who invests in ETF is not investing in bitcoin but in an ETF!!! so it is not a direct rise.
