2501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the advantages of crypto wallet versus a physical wallet? on: August 20, 2021, 10:53:52 AM
Come to think of it, there are so many advantages of having a crypto wallet versus a physical wallet. You can carry your crypto wallet anywhere as long as you have your phone with you and you will be able to use your funds there just the same way you do with the physical wallet carrying cash on it. If you carry more than $10k at the airport, you have to declare it with customs. You don't have to do that with a crypto wallet.

The wallet of coins cannot be confiscated by a court for debts, alimony, etc. The law has a “blind spot” here.

Can you add some more please?

I would say that crypto wallet also has it's downsides. You need to be very careful with your data or all your funds can be lost. Just imagine you lose your Phone and some IT savvy dude finds it and then somehow manages to access your crypto wallet, you would lose all of your funds then because i would guess most people have all of their wallets connected to their phone which means all of your crypto value could be gone at once. In contrast to that you only have a relatively small amount of cash in your wallet which you need for your daily life.
2502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Can We Expect Gambling on Axie Infinity? on: August 20, 2021, 05:49:46 AM
As we all know ESports has been one of the features of Online Gambling, and recently Axie Infinity had announced the Upcoming ESports Events.

Will this be the path that might lead to Gambling?

I don't really think that this will lead to an ingame gambling feature that is built into axies infinity because i think it just does not fit into the game World of axie and would probably have a negative impact on the game in the longterm. But now that they have a Server that is dedicated to host e-sports tournaments of axie in the future i think that it is only a matter of time until we can also place bets on the outcome of those tournaments and the results of each match. First we have to wait and see how popular those tournaments are and if they can also stir the interest of the viewers on twitch.
2503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook stablecoin on: August 20, 2021, 05:37:04 AM
A bit of history:
June 2019 - Facebook crypto project announcement
"In April 2020, Libra shifted gears, aiming to become a traditional stablecoin

Do you think this will be the reason for a new pump on the crypto market?

In the end it is just a new stablecoin that is pegged to the USD as far as i know so i don't see this having a huge impact here. Yes of course Facebook is a Company that everyone knows and if they bring out a stablecoin then users can be sure that this coin is backed enough by real dollars and that the contract of the coin is thoroughly tested and audited. We already have stablecoins of coinbase and binance though and both are also multi billion dollar companies, so i would say their stablecoins are just as safe as the one from Facebook will be.

I think we are simply witnessing the inevitable future Smiley
How many times it will takes the full process from selection ---> job interview ---> hiring ---> on-board ---->  etc etc?
My two cents... When a behemoth like this will release some app or official launch crypto service the effect on the price will be something explosive....

I am not really surprised that big companies are beginning to make plans for implementing blockchain technology into their businesses or at least are exploring if the implementation of it is possible or if it makes sense for them. WalMart is of course a huge player and a company name that almost everyone in the world has heard before even if you are not from the US. I don't think that i have ever seen a walmart store in germany and i don't know if there even is one, but still know about walmart of course. I also think though that news like this are nothing special anymore so i don't expect this news to have any impact on the price development now.
If Walmart announces in the future that they will also accept cryptocurrencies as payment in the future, then this will surely have an impact.
2505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFT games also another way to gamble your money? on: August 19, 2021, 10:13:34 AM
I don't think not all of them, most of them involve some form of strategy so it already discounts the fact that NFT games are a way to gamble money. Take Axie Infinity for example, it's a skill based game with an element of chance in terms of cards, critical hit and skill of the opponent so it's not gambling.
Axie game is a game that is quite popular for crypto lovers this year, and even many of its users dare to spend a lot of money to play on the game and in my opinion the game really provides a pretty fun playing experience, moreover we have many options to be able to get tokens , in a way that players can breed it, raise, and fight Axies in the universe.

If you also want to join and play axies infinity then you need to own at least 3 axies. The last time i checked 1 axie did cost around 300 $, which means you need to invest 900 $ to even start the game with the absolute minimal Equipment. To get that investment back if the prices for axies stay stable will probably take a few months and only after that you begin to make Profit. So i personally would not start with axies infinity now. If you do start now though then you basically make a bet that the prices of axies will remain stable or even grow within the next months so you can get your money back and add a little profit on top.
2506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Jamaica Adopt cryptocurrency on: August 19, 2021, 05:52:39 AM
More and more countries around the world are adopting and tapping into the advantages of blockchain-based currencies, with Jamaica launching its first digital currency issued to bank customers on personal or business account pegged to the Jamaican dollars on a 1:1 exchange ratio, this development is the latest among others with Venezuela aiming to lunch it owns BCDC in October 2021.

I have to say that on the one hand it is if course a great development that more and more institutions and countries start to take cryptocurrencies more serious and start to use it instead of making fun of them or even banning them. On the other hand i fear that, if every country just creates their own blockchain-based currency that is pegged 1:1 to their national currency, the need and demand for the other cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and ethereum will go down. So it could just be an alternative approach to fight  cryptos, if you cant beat them, join them.
2507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- now at: 21/22 3rd Qualifying Round on: August 19, 2021, 05:41:42 AM
The UCL Playoffs have been completed. In the important match of the evening, Benfica beat PSV 2-1. Despite staying with 10 players in the match, which could be the surprise result of the night, Young Boys defeated Frençvaros 3-2. Malmo beat Ludogorets 2-0. The first matches have been completed.

The first legs of the qualifying Playoffs are done now and it seems like that we can already congratulate Sheriff tiraspol for reaching the Champions League group stage. That is an accomplishment, that only a handful of people expected them to achieve i would guess. I also think that it is a shame that only 1 Team can advance from the matches of Eindhoven vs. Benfica Lissabon and As Monaco vs. Donezk as all 4 teams should play in the Champions League. At the moment those two matches are still open but Donezk and Benfica are having an advantage.
2508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Suggest Me some altcoins which could be 40x to 50x within next 4/5 years. on: August 19, 2021, 05:22:18 AM
There are so many top altcoins available in crypto market. Those are already hundreds time pump from their tokensale price. so there are less chance, those top coins could pump again 40x to 50x (although some are exceptional)

Please don't throw Ether, bnb, doge names blindly (some people always suggest btc eth bnb everywhere)

Now kindly suggest some altcoins those have potential enough to grow 40x to 50x within 4/5 years and Kindly explain your logic for supporting those.

I think that a time span of 4 to 5 years is very long for the crypto space where we usually see a lot of day trading, but as i am a notorious hodler myself i really like your approach. If we assume that the overall direction that the crypto market as a whole is moving will still be upwards because cryptos in general are still very new compared to traditional finance, then i think it is also pretty likely that there are more than just a few coins out there that should or could give you a x50 return of your investment after 5 years. You don't want to hear the big names here so my Suggestion would be to take a look at Lithium finance. They offer a crowd based pricing Oracle and have received Investments from very reputable VCs.
2509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The connection between gambling and addiction behaviours? on: August 18, 2021, 04:31:42 PM
Gambling is staking something of value on a game or event whose result is dependent on chance. Gambling is one of the most insidious of human vices, as it presents the illusion of easy money yet can quickly lead to financial ruin. The odds are never in your favor whether it is poker, blackjack or anything else; gambling is a successful industry because the house always win.
A study from psychguides.com evaluation shows that and I quote "People with a substance abuse disorder are more likely to have a gambling disorder. Alcohol use disorders are particularly common in people who are diagnosed with a gambling addiction.
Alcohol disorders have been found to have the greatest link to gambling addiction, and alcohol is served at most casinos.
On the flip side, one pattern that is commonly seen among people with a history of alcohol dependence is the development of a gambling problem—even after being in recovery for many years.
Additionally, gamblers may use drugs and alcohol to celebrate a win or to cope with depression after a loss. Some also use it to deal with the guilt and shame associated with gambling.
Gambling and cocaine abuse may occur together as part of a broader antisocial lifestyle. A person who uses cocaine may view gambling as an acceptable method to acquire money to support their drug habit. They might also have increased energy as well as an inflated sense of their gambling skill because of cocaine use and believe that they can’t lose".
Is there a gambling pattern that eventually leads to one of these addictions?

https://www.psychguides.com/behavioral-disorders/gambling-addiction/symptoms-and-effects/

https://www.psychguides.com/behavioral-disorders/gambling-addiction/

Well i think every adult person is aware of the fact that overall the house always wins, because if that would not be the case than there would be no casinos of course. That does not mean though that it is impossible to make a nice profit while gambling. It is also no surprise to me that people who are in general more prone to develop an addiction are also more prone to develop a gambling addiction, that is just common sense. In the end it is the responsibility of every gambler themself to never spend more money on gambling that you can afford to lose, if you are risking to much money and then you lose it you just want to win it back which in most cases just lead to an even bigger loss. So just play it safe and gamble for fun.
2510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is more green? on: August 18, 2021, 04:26:43 PM
Hello,
According to Elon Musk concern about the Bitcon energy consumption, which of TRON, EOS, Stellar Lumens, Nano, Chia, BitGreen and Cardano coins are good?

Thank you.

There are many coins out there that can be considered green coins or environmentally friendly coins. I would say this label basically fits to every coin out there that is not mined via proof of work but via proof of stake or has a masternode functionality. To take a coin all you basically need is a rasperry pi in most cases and those little devices have a energy consumption of 1 to 3 W which is nothing. You can also send your PoS coins to a centralized exchange where the exchange basically stakes the coins for you and gives you an APY for that, but of course that is not so good because it makes the projects more centralized if very big stakes are controlled in one single wallet or by a single exchange.
2511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 18, 2021, 05:15:31 AM

the game is now over and bayern munich could win against borussia dortmund with 3-1 and secure the supercup again.
the goals for bayern scored 2x R. Lewandowski and 1x T. Müller - for the bvb scored M. Reus - E. Haaland remained without a goal

That game yesterday was really nice and exciting to watch as both teams played pretty aggressively and at no moment you could see that the supercup is basically a trophy without any value at all. The odds before the match were this time probably more in favor of borussia Dortmund as they won their first Bundesliga Match in a very convincing way and Bayern only managed to achieve a draw against Gladbach. Dortmund also started way stronger and was clearly the better Team in the first 25 minutes of the game and reus had a huge Chance to score there, but then bayern became stronger and in the end there victory was well deserved.
Bayern has now won the last 6 matches against Dortmund in a row.
2512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 17, 2021, 05:23:29 PM
I'm extremely suspicious of these Olympic Games becoming profitable, it is widely known that Olympic Games costs more money and many instances way more money than the profits that will be produced by the games, so I find hard to believe that with no tourists in the middle of a pandemic these games actually became profitable, I simply do not buy it, which is why they need to find a way to make the games more cheaply as this cannot continue for long.

I also don't believe that Japan made a financial profit with this olympic games so far. As you already said the main source of income during the olympic games are usually the tourists because a lot of them do not only visit the stadiums to see the Olympic games but they combine this with a longer stay in the hosting country. I am pretty sure though that the IOC already made a lot of profit with the games in Japan, which is a shame because the IOC should first and foremost care about the sports and not about money. It is still possible and also not that unlikely that the olympic games are big win for Japan in the longterm because of all those investments that were made in the infrastructure of the country prior to the games.
2513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why FOMO when a coin is pumping on: August 17, 2021, 05:00:29 PM
I always wonder why a lot of people fomo to buy a coin or token after the price has pumped. In this present bull run I've seen a lot of people FOMO and buy cryptos at a really high price and they quickly dump when they witness drawdowns.
Isn't that just hustling backwards?? Its almost like they are trying to loose money on purpose.
So i wonder why they FOMO to buy in the first place

Well i think the name FOMO speaks for itself. People that are buying projects after they have already pumped a lot just look at how many times early investors have already multiplied their investment and just want that the same thing happens to them. Of course the fact that the coin already pumped makes it actually more unlikely that it keeps increasin in a significant way but a lof of time people just act emotional and therefore make mistakes. It's the same when you have a coin that is suddenly dumping. There are also people that realize that one of their coins suddenly lost 50% of it's value and instead of waiting until the price recovers they also dump their coins, which generates a chain reaction of more and more dumping. This kind of behaviour is just in the human nature, but it should be avoided when you are trading and holding cryptos.
2514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the Paralympic Games? Ethical or not? on: August 17, 2021, 06:17:41 AM
We will soon see the start of the Paralympic Games.... ( 24 Aug 2021 to 5 Sept 2021 ) ...so I was thinking if it was ethical to bet on these events? Will it be disrespectful towards people with disabilities or will they want to be handled in the same manner that any other athlete wants to be handled?

I spoke to a few disabled people at work and they have no problem if their athletes get the same attention as any other athlete that competes in the Olympic Games.  Wink  They say it will be disrespectful if they are treated in any other way...

So what do you guys and gals think..... ?

I would say it would be unethical of you if you are a passionate bettor and will not place a bet on those competitions only for the reason, that the participants have a mental or physical Handicap. I am pretty sure that they want to be treated just like the other athlets and therefore it would probably insult them, if you would not place a bet on their games. That being said i don't even know how many sites are offering bets for the Paralympics, as it is pretty hard to calculate the odds because people with different types of handicaps are often in the same competition.
2515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Polkadot and Uniswap Survive? on: August 17, 2021, 06:08:11 AM
Polkadot and Uniswap are both present in the crypto market in 2020. As a relatively new coin in the market, many are asking and thinking whether they will survive in the midst of the great old coins?
In January 2021 Uniswap slowly rose in price from $4.9. While Polkadot also experienced an increase in the same month and year by $5. The market continues to run and they are also holding on to prices not much different (Polkadot $27, Uniswap $29). Their rankings on the coinmarketcap list are also close together (DOT #9, UNI #11).
*source: https://coinmarketcap.com/
Let's discuss

I am 99% sure that both of those coins will survive and not only that i expect them to do very well and that they will stay at least in the top 20 in terms of marketcap for a long time. Just look at uniswap, it was the first amm dex and made the whole defi hype that happened in the last months even possible, as new projects did not have to pay ridiculously high listing fees to get listed on a decent exchange. Of course a lot of other dexes appeared in the last months that are running on other blockchains with lower fees, but i am sure that ETH will manage to solve the problem with the high fees soon.
2516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 17, 2021, 05:13:42 AM
The latest creator update from Twitch says,

Quote
"To prevent harm and scams created by questionable gambling services that sponsor content on Twitch, we will prohibit sharing links and/or referral codes to sites that offer slots, roulette, or dice games,”

Now streamers have time till 17th August to remove any such contents from their videos.

News ref: https://dotesports.com/streaming/news/twitch-introduces-restrictions-on-gambling-related-links

Do you foresee any Impact on crypto gambling?

I would say that this news is mostly bad for the big streamers because online casinos offened them a huge amount of money if they regularly play on their casinos during streams and then afterwards post Youtube videos with compilations of their biggest winnings while gambling. There was a leak a few weeks ago which showed that the pretty big streamer adin ross was offered more than 1 M $ by different online casinos if he uses their site on stream for a month. So big streamers will probably lose their biggest source of income.
I don't think that the casinos will suffer from that ban, because gambling was always popular and will probably always be.
2517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: solana ecosystem coins give 100X on: August 17, 2021, 05:04:17 AM
I have invested Raydium, SOL,STEP Finance .

They have given me GOOD ROI. Try to invest in solana project. this is Solana bull run

It is definitely true that Solana is probably the hottest ecosystem at the moment. Solana itself had a big increase in price and so had a lot of coins that are running on Solana or planning to do so. I would even say that Solana and sol projects are hotter than polkadot projects at the moment and even dot itself is not really moving too much at the moment. The reason for that is probably that dot already gave a x100 to it's early investors and the supply is unlimited.
I also think though that you are also not early anymore if you invest into Solana now.
2518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a new blockchain that will compete with Ethereum? on: August 16, 2021, 04:02:38 PM
We all know about huge transaction fees, not the most convenient scaling and the difficulties of entering the ecosystem. Are there projects that will provide people with the best conditions for the implementation of their ideas in the cryptoworld?

The high gas prices and therefore high transaction fees on the ethereum network is probably the most discussed topic on this forum in the last few months. It is definitely true that Eth really needs to do something in order to bring the transaction fee down to even make their platform useable again for small and regular transaction, but they are working on it.
There are a few contenders to Eth out there already, like polkadot, cardano or radix. Yes also bsc but that does not count as it is only a copy of ETH.
2519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the possible outcomes if you join on a Gambling sites or in Casino on: August 16, 2021, 03:21:47 PM
For me there are 3 possible outcomes if you  join on gambling

First if you are in your lucky day for sure you will win and get more money and became rich.

Second If you are in your unlucky day accept that you will loss the game and come home angry and sad.

Third  addicted even if you are in you lucky day or in unlucky day you all you have in your mind is fight back without knowing that your win or loss .

I think that there is also a fourth way that is probably way healthier than your number 2 and 3. You just gamble with an amount of money that you can afford to lose withoug having any impact on your life and if you lose you may be angry or disappointed which is normal but you shouldn't be devastated because of that loss. In my personal opinion gambling and betting on sports results is for fun or to make a game of your favorite sports team more exciting because you know you can also win some money if your team wins. Of course i won't reach your number 1 with the small amounts that i use for betting and gambling but that is fine with me, because that way i also avoid of getting any addiction.
2520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the recent Ethereum upgrade? Is it good or bad? on: August 16, 2021, 05:24:49 AM
Lately, the Ethereum community of users including "me" is rejoicing and boosting that the Ethereum v2.0 London upgrade will be a game-changer, particularly the EIP-1559 implementation, But in a few days later, many are wondering why the Ethereum gas fees were still high, despite the upgrade was done already, some users are saying that Eth developers are just giving false hope, while other also saying that it's not working the way we are expected, in the time of writing the average gas price is $7.74(43 gwei) and for me, it was still high compare to BSC, Polygon and other Layer 2 chain.

What do you guys think? drop your fearless opinion below!

So far it really looks like the last Eth Update did really have no impact at all on the transaction fees. A few hours ago we even saw gas prices of over 1000 gwei. We did not see such high numbers for at least a few weeks now if i remember correctly. So in that regard i am really disappointed with the last eth upgrade. I also want to say though that, this was only one Update on the way to Eth 2.0 and therefore hopefully low transaction fees. So i still feel pretty comfortable, that we see low transaction fees pretty soon.
