NLEX won by 3 points and with that win, Ginebra's chance to get the twice to beat spot decreased. There are rumors that they will be targeting the 4th spot so they will face the Bay Area Dragons on the Semi-Finals.

I wonder why would they target the #1 seeded team for the semis? Isn't it better if they avoid that team until the finals. Yes, they beat the dragons in their match but that is just one game. It will be different when it is in a series.
Ginebra defeated them so they know what to do to defeat them again. Well, that's only my prediction and it's a rumor only that's being spread on Facebook. The only difference now is that, when the Dragons lost, they got Nicholson as their import but now, they have Powell already and nobody, I mean nobody can stop that scoring machine. I doubt that somebody from Ginebra can stop that monster from scoring 30+ points if they meet on the playoffs. Maybe the referees can. Ooops!! Tongue

Ginebra can still seal the twice-to-beat advantage:

- if they will win all of their remaining games (against Northport, Nov. 27 and Converge, Nov. 30)
- if Magnolia Hotshots will lose their last elimination games (against Meralco, Nov. 27 and Rain or Shine, Dec. 2)

With these remaining games, for me, Ginebra vs Converge will be the most interesting match here.
I'll make a prediction base on that 2 scenarios.
-Ginebra might win against NorthPort even though the Batang Pier is on a 3-game winning streak but against Converge, if Miller will play, they might have a difficult time beating them.
-Magnolia has a high chance that they will beat Rain or Shine. Meralco Vs. Magnolia is an interesting match-up as well because Meralco is on a winning streak right now with McDaniels as their current import.

With the 4 games that you shared; I'm also waiting for the Ginebra-Converge match-up because that game will be big for the 2 teams. It will be on the 30th and I'll watch that game for sure.

Another big night for Anthony Davis as he puts up 25 points and 15 rebounds in tonight’s Lakers victory. Another win without LeBron… They better keep winning when he gets back or there’s going to be even more trade talk.
Lebron played tonight and tallied 21-8-5 against the Spurs.
That's also why Davis' numbers are slight lower than where it was when Lebron didn't play. Russ didn't have a good night scoring only 3 points but it's a good thing that Brown Jr and Walker stepped up offensively thus, getting the victory on the road.

The problem with the Lakers tonight is their turnovers. 22 turnovers are very high and if you want to enter the playoffs then at least lessen the average turnovers per game. What's even worse is even though Lakers got 22 turnovers, the Spurs didn't maximize on that one because they are one of the worst defensive teams right now in the league. The Lakers still won by 11 points despite having 22 turnovers. They need to lessen it in their next games, but the good thing is the Lakers is starting to get their momentum and Davis is starting to be what he was when they won in the bubble, and he's becoming more efficient in his new position as their starting center.

Looks like NLEX will have a chance of breaking their losing streak tonight, the game against the Ginebra now goes to OT and NLEX are leading by 3 points with 3 minutes left in the game, if they will handle the ball well and make some effective plays, they might upset the heavy favorite here.

I'm not watching the game now but it looks like they already won the game.

Based on the play-by-play record, the score is 120-117 in favor of the NLEX.
https://pba.ph/playbyplay

Brownlee had 39 points but Clark had a great game as well with 37 points, and Trollano contributed 26 points from the local.
NLEX won by 3 points and with that win, Ginebra's chance to get the twice to beat spot decreased. There are rumors that they will be targeting the 4th spot so they will face the Bay Area Dragons on the Semi-Finals.

I've been watching PBA for quite some time already and it's my first-time seeing MVP teams out of the playoffs. I mean I'm always watching playoffs where both SMC and MVP teams are playing, but now it's different. SMC are on the playoffs while the MVP teams are out. This conference really is different especially for those independent teams as some of them might enter the playoffs. Well, we still have a few games left and every win and lose are important for all of the teams who are still competing for the playoff spot.

With the Blackwater's loss against the ROS tonight, they are officially eliminated this conference along with TerraFirma.
2504  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 1 in 4 americans are skipping thanksgiving in 2022 to save money on: November 25, 2022, 03:25:24 AM
The wages of a regular employee at this moment can't keep the pace on how the inflation and prices are increasing.
It happens to the point where one source of income around a family isn't enough anymore and you need at least 2 to survive at least.

2018 for me is what I call "Year of Hell" because of what happened to cryptocurrency at that time. 2022 now is what I call "Year of Survival" because of what's happening globally. Every person is doing everything just to survive right now. People are becoming frugal nowadays. People are spending less compared to what they are spending years ago. Prices of commodities increasing to the point where people can't buy the things that they can buy a few years ago.

There is no thanksgiving in our country, but we are celebrating Christmas season and our birthdays next month. In the last 2 years, we choose to celebrate our birthdays and have some foods for us to eat because we can still afford at that time. I'm not saying that we can't afford it this year, but we choose not to celebrate anymore and just go to church so that we can save money because we know that the worst is yet to come. We expect more difficulties coming into next year. I expect more negative things happening globally and even though inflation might go down slightly, things will not change.

Right now, saving money and keeping our job is our main priority. It's just sad but understandable at the same time for the Americans not to celebrate a thanksgiving just for a year. I mean they can still just celebrate it next year if things will be better, right? It would be useless if you will celebrate thanksgiving but after that, you don't have money anymore.

Kita nyo ba yung ibinagsak ng wemix? Currently nasa 32 pesos(according to coingecko) Ang presyo per wemix ngayon.

Based on recent rumors, it seems like DeMarcus Cousins will be playing in Taiwan with Dwight Howard soon.

Actually, it was not a rumor but it was close to happening. DeMarcus Cousins will play in Taiwan’s T1 League.

What remains unofficial is what team he will play. But one thing is for sure, he will continue his basketball career in Taiwan.

At least, he won't remain vacant and idle for long as he really still has that good playing level although unable to fully compete with today's NBA.
Well, if nobody will sign him in the NBA then at least he can still continue playing basketball outside the US.

As for Taiwan, getting Howard might create a domino effect towards those NBA players who doesn't have contract right now. We might see more NBA player who doesn't have contract playing not only with Taiwan but maybe other countries (more likely in Asia). A win-win for both parties as the player might be paid higher than what they are giving to their local player (it's the case with Howard this season) and at the same time, getting ex-NBA players will boost the popularity of the T1 league.

I guess Cousins can still be a dominant player. Him and Davis are the top scoring players back when they are at Pelicans. Injuries caused Cousins' career to decline but I think he can still dominate a league lower than NBA obviously. Just look what Howard is doing right now in Taiwan. Dominating the paint, a double-double machine and also shooting threes as well Cheesy.
2507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 24, 2022, 03:09:42 PM

Damn, so that's how long the Kings have this winning 7 games in a row.

That was like their prime years, with CWebb, Bibby and Peja and add Divac to that equation. They are one team that really put competition with the Lakers and Spurs in the West that era. They felt short though specially against the Lakers.

They are against the Hawks on the road, might be difficult for them to continue with their run at the Hawks leading by 11 points in the second quarter.

Atalanta brought their advantage to 15 points in two quarters, which was enough to defeat Sacramento. In any case, it was a great win series, I hope we don't have to wait another 17 years for the next one. Philadelphia failed to repeat their feat with the Nets, and despite a solid 12-point lead in the first quarter, they still lost to the Hornets, yet the lack of leaders is palpable for the team.

Maybe we jinx the Sacramento Kings hehehe, they have been winning in the last 7 games but when everyone highlighted it, they suddenly lost to the Hawks. However, Atlanta is somewhat a hot team, so I'm not surprised that they were able to beat the Kings.

Also good win by the Bulls, DeRozan carry it till the fourth quarter, he had to 2 great assists as well to White and Vecuvic for the 3 to ice the game for them against the home town Bucks and Giannis. Also good win for me as I was able to get on the Bulls.
Looks like you really jinxed the Kings Cheesy.

Kidding aside though, the Kings really surprised me aside from the Jazz because of their 7-game winning streak. Even though they lost now against the Hawks who is a strong team TBH, I just hope that they will continue the way they are playing until they reach the playoffs because they haven't reached the playoffs since 2006. Just imagine how long the Kings fans who are waiting for their team to enter the playoffs. It's the same as the Knicks when they entered the playoffs after a long time.

It isn't a sad news because they knew it from the start that there will be only one naturalized player that can play for each team.
2 is better than 1 like they always say, and Clarkson isn't always available since he's also playing in the NBA so we will expect some conflict of schedules, so a secondary naturalized player like Brownlee

Yes of course, but if they can both play the better, hehe.. anyway, our naturalized player will not be tired because we have two and they are both ready to represent our country anytime. I already saw Clarkson played with Gilas but have not seen Brownlee yet, so I'm excited to see and have the comparison of their performances.

Brownlee will serve as good backup since JC is not always available unless he will show his interest playing then Brownlee will give him the spot, for now, we will check if how brownlee will impact the nationals, gilas is alredy forming their solid combination, adding brownlee to tha squad will give them extra offensive threat.

We will only see if what addition can he provide once the game starts for FIBA competition.

Brownlee could play in the FIBA ASIA while JC will play in the FIBA world. I guess most of the international competition, it will be Brownlee that has more available time than JC because he is an NBA player and they have a long season. Anyway, it doesn't matter though, both players are great and they are loved by the Filipino Fans.
You know the PH fans when it comes to basketball. If they like a basketball player, they will be loved so much that even the player himself will be grateful to it. That's how we PH fans are when we like a player. Just look how we are seeing Brownlee and Clarkson right now. Even Blatche was loved by the PH fans and now, Prosper is the one who got the attention of PH fans. More to come.

Brownlee has more time than Clarkson, but it will still depend. I don't know if it's possible, but can a naturalized Filipino player still play outside PH and sign a contract with other teams other than PH?
2509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Two important lesson I learn from this forum this year 2022 on: November 24, 2022, 03:19:28 AM
THE TWO LESSONS
1: I will never trust an exchange, most especially centralized exchanges e.g FTX Binance, etc.
Not your keys, not your coins.
A famous quote that has been shared numerous times on the internet already but until now, there are still many people who are storing most of their coins in these centralized exchanges. For what? Because there are some exchanges who are offering staking like what Binance and other does. It's not worth it for me especially if you know that your coins might vanish anytime knowing that there is somebody that is holding your coins. I hope what happened to FTX will be a lesson to all who always wants to store their holdings on exchanges.

2: never n trust any other coin aside from Bitcoin for long-term goals, most especially the highly centralized altcoin as there are open to external influence just like centralized exchanges are also exposed to external influence.
After the FTX scam, many investors changed their mindset now and those who are investing into altcoins will prefer investing into Bitcoin because they know that it's a good coin to hold for long term. Don't expose yourself too much on altcoins especially those centralized exchanges. Always go for Bitcoin. Right now, I'm trying to increase my Bitcoin holdings and it's my own preference but I'm also buying Ethereum.

A newbie who just experienced gaining profits investing into cryptocurrency for the first time. Cheesy
I feel you because that's what I also felt when I first gain profits into crypto. The only difference with me and OP (who doesn't reply in this thread at all) is that I didn't share my first profits here while he does which is kind of funny at least for me.

Out of the 3 that he shared, MATIC is the only who looks like a good project for me. Their recent partnership with Starbucks made the coin pump but as of this moment, the coin isn't an exception with what's happening right now. MATIC is also affected by the contagion caused by what FTX and Scam Bankrupt-Fraud did.

Bull run? Maybe you should wake up OP (even though you aren't replying here). Bull run will not come this year or maybe next year. Based on Forbes, the average bear market last for around 289 days. I expect it to be longer this time just by looking on what's happening globally.
2511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I Am So Done With Betting Until.... on: November 24, 2022, 02:34:29 AM
Well, it happens in Basketball as well. Expect the unexpected and it happened to you as well.
I'm not a soccer fan so I don't know anything about it, but I will not blame you with your decisions because I might do the same if my favorite team in Basketball will go up against a team who is much, much weaker than my team.

For sure, it's not only you who lost money because many also bet on Argentina as well and it's unfortunate and very disappointing for you who bet on them. That's sports I guess and that's the reason why it's entertaining at first place. You may never know what can happen in every game. As for you quitting, it will depend on how addicted you are in gambling. I also experienced losses back when I was still gambling, but I can quit very easily because I'm not addicted into it, and I always set my mind whenever I gamble. Maybe stop for a moment and move on with it then after a few days, make a decision if you will gamble again or not.

BTW, Brownlee and Clarkson can't play together as FIBA only allows one naturalized player at a time so i think it would be Clarkson that will play.

That's really sad but it's okay because they have Clarkson who can carry the team. He will surely be an all star this season in the NBA, so that alone is already a big plus factor for the Gilas team to be recognize in the FIBA. What they need is a good chemistry, not only Clarkson will contribution, everyone should do their task although it's very obvious that Clarkson will do a heavy load.
Clarkson isn't always available to play in the Gilas Pilipinas so it's good to have a 2nd naturalized player like Brownlee that can join and participate to different tournaments aside from the FIBA World Cup.

On the upcoming world cup, Clarkson will play no doubt and I think Brownlee already knew it. The chemistry is starting to build up already and our team played very well on the recent window for the FIBA World Cup against Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

That is a very bad news about gillas pilipinas as they are needing another star player to improve well anyway as you said gillas have Jordan Clarkson which we all know how he play in the court and also kai sotto is plus points by them as he is a big man who can work in the center and a good contributor as a defender and for rebounding the ball. Now all can gillas do is to build their chemistry in order to have a good play.

2513  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter Crypto head and staff resigns on: November 23, 2022, 10:30:16 AM
I read the article and there's nothing wrong with him being strict. They resigned and they aren't fired, and, in the end, Elon approached some of the employees telling them to stay.

Tesla is now a successful car business because of Elon and with the new management, I think it's normal that there will be some employees that will resign and knowing that Elon will really change what Twitter is, there might be some who will not like how he handles the company therefore, they resigned.

Now with regards to it having an impact towards the crypto space, I don't think there is a significant impact of what's happening with Twitter in the crypto market. Twitter is a social media platform after all. Expect more changes towards Twitter in the next months now that it's under a different person already.
2514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 23, 2022, 07:46:48 AM

Now the only question right now is, will it be sustainable? Will his performance in his last 3 games sustainable to carry the whole team? I expect for his numbers to go down in their next games, so I hope that there will be somebody who will help him offensively if that happen.

let's hope for the best, Davis has the talent and he can always deliver, hopefully, he won't be injured so we will not see the Lakers suffer again. Davis is really prone to injury, I can't remember a season where he finish without an injury, so most likely the chance of him being injure is like 70% most of the time.
Davis played well tonight against the Suns making 37 points, 21 rebounds, 5 blocks and 5 steals. He's like the prime Anthony Davis that we saw back when he's in the Pelicans. The sad thing though is they lost. Seeing him playing like this boost the morale of the team. Having LBJ back again will be helpful to the team, and I hope that their big 3 will step up and get more wins because they're at the bottom right now of the standings.

Sacramento finished the game last night with an away win against Memphis and got their 7th consecutive win, but now there are Atlanta and Boston games. If they can close these matches with a win, they will show everyone how assertive they are. Los Angeles lost to Phoenix 115-105 in the night game after a 3-game winning streak. LeBron James better return to the team as soon as possible. Otherwise, the decline will continue in Los Angeles.
Surprisingly, the Kings are winning and currently at the 3rd seed with a 7-game winning streak.
The team who didn't have any moves during the off-season at all except for signing Dellavedova are the ones who are on a winning streak right now. Aside from the Jazz who surprised many, the Kings are also the same and take note that both teams doesn't have any all-star player at all. We are nearing the 1/4 of the season so let's see if they will sustain how they are playing as of this moment.
2515  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think that we will see 13500 Dollars In 2022 on: November 22, 2022, 12:29:58 PM
So what are your speculations and I will be more curious to know about this.
Bitcoin dropped to below $16,000 and the last time it is on that price range was 2 years ago.
Crypto fear and greed index is at 22 meaning investors are extremely fearful to invest.
Expect the worse next year.

$13,500 is possible this year if there will be another FTX drama-like again. There is still a chance that it might reach that price knowing we are in a place where we always see bad news that affects the sentiments of the investors. Right now, the contagion is still in effect, and it will affect more and more companies as days and weeks goes by.  Maybe I'll predict that there is a 10-20% chance that it might reach that price this year and if not, it will be next year.

A very subjective topic at least for me and for some here.

I'm investing in cryptocurrency and stock market currently but at the same time, I'm also putting a small portion of my monthly income into the banks. Yes, inflation is eating it slowly, but I have my own reason why I'm still putting a small amount of money in my bank account rather than investing all of my money and that is emergency funds just in case worst thing happen to me or to my family.

I also thank this forum because it's the eye-opener for me to get involved into cryptocurrency. I might be lucky that I involved myself into crypto and earn from it just after I graduated in college but overall, Bitcoin and the forum helped me a lot especially when it comes to knowledge. I have no negative feelings whatsoever on these banks since I'm not using it for transaction, but only for emergency funds.
2517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 22, 2022, 08:11:03 AM
Yes, they seem fine on paper as their stats are steadily increasing but if you will watch them closely, you may think that they really lack something or it's just me? I can't just point out what it is. It's like AD needs someone who can play with him side-by-side and not only relying on LeBron when it comes to contribution.

LeBron is already an old news, and the league needs to accept that. He can't do big things anymore just to guarantee a win on their behalf, he is just in the league now to break another record but after that, I think he'll slowly rest because his age is catching him up already.
Yes, i have no doubt about it.
I even imagine that if the current Lakers roster were playing with chemistry with each other, they could simply be one of the best teams in the NBA right now.
I believe this is a possibility... I also imagine that LeBron James will set a few more NBA records and after that, I believe he will focus on the development of their children, Bryce and Bronny.

Watching them playing against the Spurs maybe yes if that same chemistry will be developed into a solid systematic form of plays,
AD still can dominate inside, he just needs to have someone who's willing to play and attract the defense.

WB and Walker can really create a good opening for AD. They just need to continue breaking the defense and make sure that they

will drop the ball to AD and let him finish the business. This Lakers squad can compete even without LeBron, they just need that
winning mentalities to focus on their goals.
AD is a very dominant big back when he is in the Pelicans a few years ago.
The only problem for him is his health and his body being very fragile and very susceptible to injuries.

Injuries affected him so much that it affects his whole NBA career. Now the Lakers are in a 3-game winning streak thanks to AD's very dominating performance in these 3 games and he is the 3rd Lakers player in franchise history who did 30+point - 15+rebound in 3 straight games alongside Shaq and Elgin Baylor.

Now the only question right now is, will it be sustainable? Will his performance in his last 3 games sustainable to carry the whole team? I expect for his numbers to go down in their next games, so I hope that there will be somebody who will help him offensively if that happen.

Speaking of Quincy Miller, he was also considered to become a naturalized player but I doubt it will be pushed through.

Justin Brownlee on the other hand is now having a good status to become one. And guess what, Myles Powell has also shown interest to become a naturalized player although I'm not sure if he is serious.

What's your thought about that, guys? Smiley
Brownlee is in Ginebra so it's easier for him to be naturalized. Power Smiley
It's just a rumor but in order for you to increase your chances to a naturalized player, you must play on a SMC team.

Miller and Powell are 2 great players and we've seen these 2 played very amazing and carried their respective teams this conference, but I don't think that they will be a naturalized player. Just look at McCollough. He played in the PBA and won a title with SMB, but still he's been ignored by the authorities. It's easy to say for these players that they want to be a naturalized player of Philippines but it's not that easy as 1,2,3 and it will take years like what we've seen with Brownlee. Overall, it's good to see that there are imports who wants to be a naturalized player for our country, but the chances of it to happen are very slim to no IMO.

after a while, they seem not to update their old campaigns. today 1xBit opened a new campaign 1x₿it.com | The World Cup Adventure Signature Campaign 🏆 | Up to $100/week.
some of their old participants will likely join again. but several new accounts have also applied. some with negative tags but not from previous campaign participation.
maybe soon the OP should update the list.

At every big sporting event, 1XBIT is always there to take advantage to victimize more people, I remember just last year in the month of December when the market is doing great, they are running three signature campaigns on their Christmas giveaways, they are likely to make a repeat, of these campaigns, and after the Christmas campaign giveaways, we have many scam complaints at the first quarter of the year against 1XBIT these are those who join in their Christmas signature campaign.
Most people are gullible and gullible people are the ones who fall easily to scams. Wink
TBH, many users here already warned the users multiple times already regarding the 1xbit scam. Though there will still be gamblers who will try and gamble with the website, I still believe that most here already are aware with regards to 1xbit and what they did in the past right?

As of this moment, there are many who applied on their signature campaign, but nothing is eligible because of their negative trust in the past. Intelligent gamblers here are aware of the past of 1xbit. Very disgusting like what @qwertyup23 said, but since they can still advertise their scam casino here anytime they wanted to, they will just do it and victimize those gullible and newbie gamblers.

Regulating these crypto exchanges especially the centralized ones will help lessen frauds like what happened to FTX.

We've seen similar instances of these in the past and we've also saw Bitcoin declared dead 453 times according to 99bitcoins and here we are still. We are still on our way for Bitcoin to reach $100,000. We are still in a way to see the new technology being adopted globally. We are still seeing crypto surviving despite of what's happening. We might see different altcoins going down gradually because of this bear market but cryptocurrency in general will survive.

Anyone out there have words of encouragement regarding the future of crypto? Anything the future holds to look forward to?
Words of encouragement? Put your coins in a safer wallet. A wallet where you will hold the private keys. I guess that's enough words of encouragement for you.
