My bad, I didn't bother to look at who's playing as I'm only monitoring the score via sportsbook. I could have bet the other way around if I knew that Miller didn't play in that game because on the bookies, they are the favorite to win but without an import, most likely they will lose and that's what happened.

Actually, that was a game-time decision and it seems that the punishment will not totally force. It means most bettors don't know what will be the actual situation on that game that's why I understand if you put up some money on Converge.

But I think Converge should let it go and punishment should be the other way and not a game suspension where the final seeding is now taking place and every game is necessary. It will just result in negative speculation that they are giving up their last games for an unknown reason.

Unless the PBA itself punishes the import, that needed to be followed. I understand Converge decision and that was a good example to follow on other teams but the timing is not just right for me.

Speaking of Miller who didn't play, i have read on my social media feed that the reason why coach Ayo didn't bother to field-in Miller because it is some sort of a punishment for him for not attending practice because he overslept due to the celebration of Miller's 30th birthday. Have coach Ayo fielded Miller, their winning streak could have not been broken yet but i think it was still a good decision to show the whole team that if anyone is messing around, they will be punished.

What a good stand by Converge as part of disciplining their players but what if that was on a crucial game, for let's say Semis or Finals?

Either way, I'm sure Miller ask permission to go to the party but just overslept because of that celebration.

Converge now sits in 4th place because of that recent loss but still, they will have the twice-to-beat advantage in the QF if they maintained that spot.

Speaking of Quincy Miller, he was also considered to become a naturalized player but I doubt it will be pushed through.

Justin Brownlee on the other hand is now having a good status to become one. And guess what, Myles Powell has also shown interest to become a naturalized player although I'm not sure if he is serious.

What's your thought about that, guys? Smiley

Powell is a good facilitator plus a good scorer too, but I don't think he's serious about taking part with gilas, though his playing style will be fit for chot's dribble and drive system, I might go with Miller instead of him personally, same with Brownlee, Miller is a good adjustable player, he can play all the position and you will see his value when he is inside the court, he can help the gilas if ever he will proceed and process his naturalization.

Moving on with Brownlee, I'm excited to see him playing with both Japet and Scootie, then add Kai or Fajardo plus JC or Dwight.

Gilas is gaining the momentum and if they continue doing their practices and the bond among them, they will again develop that
capabilities to win and keep moving up from this competition.

Brownlee is in Ginebra so it's easier for him to be naturalized. Power Smiley
It's just a rumor but in order for you to increase your chances to a naturalized player, you must play on a SMC team.

Miller and Powell are 2 great players and we've seen these 2 played very amazing and carried their respective teams this conference, but I don't think that they will be a naturalized player. Just look at McCollough. He played in the PBA and won a title with SMB, but still he's been ignored by the authorities. It's easy to say for these players that they want to be a naturalized player of Philippines but it's not that easy as 1,2,3 and it will take years like what we've seen with Brownlee. Overall, it's good to see that there are imports who wants to be a naturalized player for our country, but the chances of it to happen are very slim to no IMO.

Brownlee has been so consistent and he gives championships to his team, so I think that's already enough tests to prove how good he is and how good his chemistry with in his team. Brownlee has played with the Philippine team before already, so it's not new for him to play with Gilas, being a naturalized player makes him happy, so for sure he will play better to represent our country.

I agree with LogitechMouse, it was the influence and power of politicians that makes the naturalization process of Brownlee easy but in fairness to Brownlee, IMO he deserves to be naturalized as he has been in the country for quite some time now and his skill set to be in the Gilas lineup is a good fit.

Brownlee is enough for now, that's why Miller and Powell will not be entertained this time as we have Jordan Clarkson who is the priority of them all to play in FIBA 2023 as a naturalized Filipino if he will not be counted as a local.

Brownlee and Clarkson playing together, I guess would make our offense flow get better, however, we don't have a tall and big center who could battle inside for the position and rebounds. Our naturalized players before playing the center position, this time it's different, so let's see how it will impact the team in overall.

Brownlee deserves to be a naturalized player, the committee who would choose a naturalized player will never be questioned as Brownlee is a crowd favorite. Well, there's really no big center for now but if Kai Sotto will improve, he will be a big help to make the Gilas more competitive.

About JMF, I'm not counting him now because he is slow in international competition, bigs now can already shoot 3's and they can handle the ball well.

Personally, I'm happy for Brownlee and Gilas team.

Clarkson and brownies is a good team up and also kai sotto if he can improve a lot then it should be a good news because 3 star players will be shine in the fiba and about JunmarFajardo still I recommend him as gillas team as we all know that his skill and power can dominate other player even though junmar fajardo don't have 3 point play but as a center and big man he is useful for rebound and points as well

That's the advantage of Blatche when he was playing with the Gilas, he is tall and can handle the ball very well but come FIBA23, we have big guys like AJ Edu, Kai Sotto, and Fajardo that will man the middle while Jordan Clarkson will wreak havoc in the wings hehe. The good with Clarkson is that he never shies away from shooting that ball when badly needed as he doesn't know the word "pressure" in international basketball and also he is a name in the NBA now that will bring the Philippines into the limelight.

BTW, Brownlee and Clarkson can't play together as FIBA only allows one naturalized player at a time so i think it would be Clarkson that will play.

That's really sad but it's okay because they have Clarkson who can carry the team. He will surely be an all star this season in the NBA, so that alone is already a big plus factor for the Gilas team to be recognize in the FIBA. What they need is a good chemistry, not only Clarkson will contribution, everyone should do their task although it's very obvious that Clarkson will do a heavy load.

That is a very bad news about gillas pilipinas as they are needing another star player to improve well anyway as you said gillas have Jordan Clarkson which we all know how he play in the court and also kai sotto is plus points by them as he is a big man who can work in the center and a good contributor as a defender and for rebounding the ball. Now all can gillas do is to build their chemistry in order to have a good play.

We should not expect that we will be a strong team in the FIBA world because we are not, maybe competitive but we will not belong in the top 10. Having Clarkson is good, and since Clarkson is already a superstar in the NBA, he should be able to make Gilas team an interesting team.

Hopefully he won't easily get tired as FIBA world competition are very physical, and with his body size, I doubt he would dominate inside.

Clarkson isn't always available to play in the Gilas Pilipinas so it's good to have a 2nd naturalized player like Brownlee that can join and participate to different tournaments aside from the FIBA World Cup.

On the upcoming world cup, Clarkson will play no doubt and I think Brownlee already knew it. The chemistry is starting to build up already and our team played very well on the recent window for the FIBA World Cup against Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

2 is better than 1 like they always say, and Clarkson isn't always available since he's also playing in the NBA so we will expect some conflict of schedules, so a secondary naturalized player like Brownlee

Yes of course, but if they can both play the better, hehe.. anyway, our naturalized player will not be tired because we have two and they are both ready to represent our country anytime. I already saw Clarkson played with Gilas but have not seen Brownlee yet, so I'm excited to see and have the comparison of their performances.

Brownlee will serve as good backup since JC is not always available unless he will show his interest playing then Brownlee will give him the spot, for now, we will check if how brownlee will impact the nationals, gilas is alredy forming their solid combination, adding brownlee to tha squad will give them extra offensive threat.

We will only see if what addition can he provide once the game starts for FIBA competition.

Brownlee could play in the FIBA ASIA while JC will play in the FIBA world. I guess most of the international competition, it will be Brownlee that has more available time than JC because he is an NBA player and they have a long season. Anyway, it doesn't matter though, both players are great and they are loved by the Filipino Fans.

Yes you are right that mate once they added Justin brownlee for the team Gillas Pilipinas then it will makes the team more stronger than before and also it's a good option for the team as we all know that Jordan Clarkson currently playing in NBA which is they have longer season and Jordan Clarkson sometimes can not play in Gillas once his team has a sched to play. And Brownlee must fullfil the needs of Gillas pilipinas team.

Not a sched or something, but the season should be over before Clarkson can play with the Gilas as it will also take time to practice before playing in the actual competition, and that cannot happen while the season is still on going. Also, right now, he is the star player of the Utah Jazz, so his team will surely not gonna him to loss his focus on their goal to be in the playoffs.
