2501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON Dumps as CEO “Locked Down” in China Ahead of Warren Buffett Lunch on: July 24, 2019, 11:04:55 AM
Couldn't verify about the accusations made on this post about Mr. Sun but what's in my knowledge is Tron is getting into some trouble as many of it's prominent members are leaving the team. Tron is still in it's early stages of development and losing some of the prominent minds behind it would surely hinder it's roadmap.
2502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the purpose of investing in alts? Make Fiat Money Or Make More BTC? on: July 24, 2019, 06:35:42 AM
This has been the largest question for last couple of years. Before the introduction of stablecoins people jumped from BRC to alts when the price of Bitcoin started to decrease and vice versa when it increases but now people are moving towards stablecoins which is making it hard for allts to gain price.
2503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: KYC Process (Sportsbook) on: July 24, 2019, 02:34:46 AM
How is the KYC Process if you deposit with Bitcoin.

- ID
- Utility Bill

what else? Proof of Deposit, example Screenshot of your Wallet? Any other torture?

I haven't encountered any crypto based gambling site enforcing a KYC on me. Though there has been some cases of such.
It's easier to do a KYC with the ID and bank statement and most of the sites would stick with that at the current time.
I have always struggled to submit a Utility bill and would skip any sites implementing that.

Its sad to know that gayle will not be playing in series with India. Indian team is already very strong and there was only hope that gayle will give tough time to Indian bowlers. Now with no gayle, West Indies team will be very weak and there would be one sided matches.  Undecided
Gayle is in poor form these days and he will not bring any much good for the team if you think WI is not a good team. Would be a nice series if both team played away series. India will have the benefit of home. Otherwise, in t20, West Indies still a big team.
West Indies is a big team in T20, but they don't have any consistency in the game. If a player starts good then the same gets continued through the match. If the start gets out to the pavilion the same gets followed. This makes them struggle to score reaching an average total. Though it is home benefit for India, West Indies too have got equal winning opportunity.

The west Indian team does not lack good players. West Indies team has been mismanaged for some years now. But they still can turn the game any side with their individual performances. T20 is a format less predictable than others and a single player can make a difference. So we need to wait and watch how the things turns.

2506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra – The Good, The Bad & The Ugly on: July 22, 2019, 03:36:59 PM
A well written and non bias analysis. I had no idea about Facebook being just a node after the release of the blockchain. If that's the case and the nodes are limited just among those enterprise, we as a general crypto enthusiast and users has nothing to hope from the Libra token. It would just be another Paypal that is not based on a fiat currency.
2507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover on: July 22, 2019, 03:27:46 PM
Sero has had an impressive growth. I accept I didn't had my attention towards this particular coin during the ICO but I don't think anything presented by the project or the logo is anywhere near being less attractive. They seems to have a good team and are doing a weekly update about the coin. It's still a good time to buy if you believe in the future of mineable privacy focused coins.
2508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Exchanges are not recommended. on: July 22, 2019, 03:20:20 PM
Bitebtc is one of the popular scam exchange. They have scammed a lot of people, not sending the withdrawn amount. They have a self moderated thread here in the forum. Yobit is infamous exchange with it's shady behavior and a lot of ponzi running on site. A good place for pump and dump.
LAtoken is another large exchange being accused of shady behaviors. Liquid had some problems in the past but I guess are now solved. Bitforex too has a lot of accusation for the exchange of that size.
2509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Impossibility of a gambling system (Why methods don't work) on: July 22, 2019, 03:02:33 PM
There's no actual 50/50 chances. The chances are always below 50 as there's always a house edge involved.
Wining as an individual is not an impossible task as it totally depends on the luck. But our instinct won't make us just withdraw our wining and leave gambling. A person who has won would again come back to gamble until he lose all his winnings.

For anyone to be successful in cracking the printing algorithm, he needs to be a genius. For most of us even though we tried our best and take advantages of the computing power, we'd still not be able to achieve what he did. Not just because we are not good at maths but also because all of the lotteries after that even has changed themselves to be indecisive till the final moments and as everything is discrete, there's no algorithm to look at.
2511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: World Cup Champion into Lucky.io Ambassador. on: July 22, 2019, 02:18:51 AM
Sports and sportsperson are just advertising and they do it about any ethical business. Arsenal's deal with cashbet was the first measure breakthrough of cryptocurrency into football. If sportsbooks like bet365 and betfair can do a partnership with the clubs than surely ICOs and crypto sportsbook can do that too.
2512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEOs are more safe. But there are still problems that must be solved. on: July 21, 2019, 02:47:58 AM
Buying the tokens on exchanges seems to be more safe than buying them on ICOs websites.
But there are still some problems:
1. Using IEOs instead of ICOs, we are adding a 3rd party than can control what we buy. This is in contradiction with the main purpose of cryotocurrencies which is centralization (edit: decentralization)
2. The big bonuses that big investors are still giving buying the tokens directly from the team and cause big price decrease
3. KYC that is still implementing. The only thing that has changed is that we are giving our documents to the exchange instead of the team ( In my opinion KYC should be completely eliminated or a new safe method which I have no idea about that should be implemented)
4. Exchanges might get money and do not pay attention to healthy of the project like what they do for listing the tokens

What do you guys think?
What should be done to have safer fundraising? Assume that you are making some rules. Just try to preserve the decentralization as much as possible.

IEO has eased up many things for the investors. They can easily buy tokens with any coins they hold. They don't have to fill up KYC everytime and providing your KYC to a trusted exchange is better than providing to each ICO. Exchange supported projects are more successful than independent one, so there's nothing on exchange side to blame for.
2513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 💲💲 Stable Coins?? 💲💲 on: July 20, 2019, 04:53:37 AM
Theoretically DAI looks great but is not widely accepted. TUSD is my choice for exchanges and storing as Tether is having larger fluctuations.
And for the conversion, I send them to NEO, they just let in any stable and let withdraw any stable.
2514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the martingale system sucks! (doubling down on losses) on: July 20, 2019, 04:08:37 AM
Hypothetically if you have an infinite amount and start with a small amount, you'd never loss. But as no one has an infinite amount and the martingale rises more quickly (geometrically), you'll soon reach to your amount limit. Yet, there are few people who insisted they have never lost due to martingale, I believe they didn't bet a lot.
Infinite amount is not really the best word but a very substantial amount; here we are talking about multi million dollars and there are gamblers with this type of money actually. I think that most of the gamblers that might have this type of money to play are not really playing for money, they do it for entertainment and as well they keep on making money.

I have not seen but have heard stories of gamblers that have played using martingale and never lost and from what I learnt they bet but because of the increased amount deposited, it never goes down to them losing, so while recovering there’s a greater chance of winning. This is the reason it’s called a winning strategy but it should be stated winning strategy for rich gamblers.

Deciding to stop is the key to success here. But when people get the taste of easy money, people would not stop gambling until they lost it all.
Even though they win and withdraw from one site, they'll eventually lose it on some other.
2515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup Of Nations 2019 - Discussion Thread on: July 20, 2019, 04:00:11 AM
The luck was always with Algeria. It's their second Africa Cup while Senegal is still devoid of one. No doubt they are a good team but whole of this competition had been a tough call for every of the finalist. Anyway congratulations to the wining side.
2516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: July 19, 2019, 02:56:24 PM
~snip~

West Indies may be having the home advantage and they may be able to surprise the Indians if all of their super-stars turn up for the matches. A star-studded playing XI, which includes Gayle, Pollard, Russel, Bravo, Lewis.etc may prove to be a tough nut to crack for the Indians. Some of their bowlers, especially the pacers like Cottrell, Roach and Thomas has the ability to trouble the Indian batting lineup.
This T20 series will be an entertaining one. WI are master in T20 so we won't see a broken West Indies like we have seen in the World Cup.

Now I have seen some news about Kohli's captaincy to be replaced by Rohit. Not sure if the news is really a news but if that's true then I think they should not do it. India only played a bad match in the semi. For any team a bad day is common. Except the semi, they played world class cricket in the World Cup. It's a winning team with a very young and talented captain.

I never understood why Dhoni was striped off of captaincy. He was the most successful captain India team ever had. Kohli on the other hand misses what I look for in leadership. He is always being surrounded by some controversy and is infamous with his temper.
2517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sending BTC from Gambling Site to Binance? on: July 19, 2019, 02:50:19 PM
Does anyone know if there is any issue with this?

Can someone here confirm if there is any issue sending btc from a sportsbook to binance?  Someone a while back mentioned there is nothing in the TOS against it.  I know with coinbase or gemini.. ppl said they would ban accounts if you send btc from gambling site to coinbase and vice versa.

Has anyone done this and if so, anyone ever had an issue with this?

I don't think there are any TOS regarding sending in from or sending to gambling sites or sportsbook. It's also difficult to track them as they send coins from different addresses from their hot wallet. Coinbase seems to have some terms cautioning users not to send and receive from gambling sites. But I've done it hundred of times without any issue.
2518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading Competitions on: July 18, 2019, 03:49:55 PM
Guys, do you think is worth doing them and is it a good time to do one? And what do you think about trading competitions at all?

If you are into day trading and the trading competition is from a good exchange with good volume, than it would be a piece of cake for you.
But these trading competition are generally hosted by less popular exchange and if done by a popular one, there would be tough competition and only the highest volume day traders would receive any reward.
2519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you see the future of exchange going? on: July 18, 2019, 03:47:52 PM
Do you believe that businesses and enterprises will get into DEX’s as well?

DEX is now proved to be beneficial for business. As large enterprises are entering the crypto market, they'll surely create better dex and a token required to trade on the dex. They'll loosen the fees to attract users. They'll hold 90% of the token while circulating 10 and make gradual profit by sending those tokens to the market gradually. Then there would always be those fees.
