1661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who holds the most bitcoins? on: December 21, 2019, 01:27:16 PM
I've always been interested in this question, but I found a lot of confusing information.
I recently came across this article in Quora, and I wonder how accurate and verified this information is: https://www.quora.com/Who-holds-the-most-bitcoins
According to this article, it seems that Satoshi holds the most bitcoins, between 600,000 and 1,600,000 BTC.
The following are the Winklevoss brothers, with 91,666 bitcoin.
Next is Barry Silbert with 48,000 BTC.
Next in order are Tim Draper with $250,000 worth of BTC and Michael Novogratz with his crypto net worth to be around $700 million – $1 billion.
Do you agree with this assessment from the article or do you have more credible and accurate information?

Satoshi definitely has the most bitcoins and they haven't moved for years. Either he knows it's going to be worth more than what it is at current time or he has lost access to it. Whatever may be the reason of Sathoshi's bitcoin not in circulation, it would further decrease the total supply.
1662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Cash the real Bitcoin? on: December 20, 2019, 11:34:35 PM
Things should change according to the need of time. Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash implemented different techniques to solve the (same) problem and are working on independent ways.
As an open source project, there was no ownership of the coin. So to decide which chain would retain the name Bitcoin, it was the one with the highest hashrate, larger number of miners and community.
You can fork a open source project but you can't have it's original git or claim your fork is the original one.
1663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Staking WAR has begun, who is wining it? on: December 20, 2019, 11:29:11 PM
Binance has advantages and larger profit in staking user coins. There can be concern on using binance for staking considering how huge it has became in terms of holding coins and is already in the place to manipulate total crypto market according to their will. Coinbase is also not far behind. So, for small investors, choose the one that gives you most percentange. On most case it would be binance and Coinbase for some. Have an ID on both.
1664  Economy / Economics / Re: Exchanges are rebelling against constant hard forks on: December 20, 2019, 03:49:20 PM
Well they are here because of the crypto. And whether be it a scheduled update or a forked coins, it's the duty of Exchages to provide the best service to the users.
One of the reasons why binance dominated every other exchange at that time was due to the treatment of the user from those exchanges. Binance put the users first.
And it's users and user satisfaction that brings profit to the exchange.
1665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hong Kong Police Freeze $10M Fund for Protesters - Bitcoin Becomes Attractive on: December 20, 2019, 03:34:25 PM
This would associate bitcoin with freedom. Which it really is.
The world of crypto coin and blockchain based social networks would lead to new waves of revolutions around the world.
They would create a new society based on democracy, transparency and personal freedom.
1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your preparation for 2020? on: December 20, 2019, 03:16:43 PM
summer will pass and 2020 will come soon.
while the market is still below and cryptoqurrency prices are cheap, then how do you prepare for the coming year?

I personally have added some bitcoin and altcoin.
I believe if half of the bitcoin is reduced, there is still hope for the crypto market, especially for the price of altcoin.
How about you?

I too converted every of my stable coins to bitcoin and one another crypto. I'm now focusing on just two coins in 2020 and spend my time making direct investment in crypto related companies rather than participating in ICOs. I'm going to hold 2 coins and also increase their amount alongside again increasing the ratio of stablcoin as I can't still fully trust the crypto.
1667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright: "BTC is not Bitcoin" on: December 20, 2019, 03:06:54 PM
I think we have sorted it all before. And let's stick to what we agreed upon.
Satoshi Nakamoto is not a god, neither is Bitcoin or the name Bitcoin. Craig Wright can create a new coin with his new name if he believes he can build a better bitcoin.
1668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are smart as well. on: December 20, 2019, 02:37:44 PM
Scammers don't have to give huge promises anymore, believe me they are among us and they know how smart investors have become too, they always reshape their tactics, now projects don't have to give too good offers because they know people are aware that too good to be real offers are scam, honestly scammers are not idiots

People keep saying good projects always have good team and brilliant ideas to solve crypto issues, who tell you that scammers can't deliver all this?

And they are getting smarter everyday. They present themselves flawlessly, sometimes they seem even more reliable than a real project.
It's better to know about the project and the people involved beforehand or personally. Anything on the internet cannot be fully trusted.
Even something as regulatory license should be verified and while paying online, you should also be sure you are going through the right channel.
1669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons to be thankful than hate him on: December 19, 2019, 04:29:44 PM
There are many kinds of people and there are different opinions inside ourselves.
It's a human nature to resist sudden change human also has curiosity to try something new.
Bitcoin has completed it's first decade and is not a new thing to this technologically advanced age.
Though bitcoin may have some issues that are stopping people to use it, it's the general hate of large business and government that's putting crypto back.
1670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ETH dump even more due to PlusToken? on: December 19, 2019, 04:02:24 PM
Plus token is busted already and it would not create any much difference to the prices. Thought the demand could have increased further and so the price if the ponzi had run for more time, there's no reason for the prices to drop as well. We could see the general trend of price change alongside other crypto but the real price of Ethereum would be decided by the success of it's new update.
1671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has this year Christmas favor your cryptocurrency portfolios? on: December 19, 2019, 03:57:14 PM
I played good with my crypto this year. And this month is when I made the largest profit. I had converted half of my crypto holdings to stablecoin a few months ago and I was lucky enough to buy much more coin on the last dip. Though there might be much larger dip in coming weeks, I'm not going to sell them until the prices gets a bit higher.
1672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are American tax laws holding Bitcoin back? on: December 19, 2019, 03:46:51 PM
Taxes may be a thing but it's the attitude of the authorities and the government that's holding bitcoin back. Most of the people would not mind paying a little from their profit if they are buying and selling from legal medium. It's the use of crypto in money laundering and terrorism that troubles the authorities. Their consequences is much dire than tax evasion.
1673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How and why to buy Stablecoins in 2020 on: December 19, 2019, 03:27:25 PM
There are two reasons for me and for most of the people to buy stabecoin.
1. To make a profit in volatility. It's a temporary buy where I sell my crypto into stablecoin on decreasing market and buy back on increasing market.
2. To keep my liquidity ready for unforeseen condition. I generally put this money on NEXO as they provide better interest than banks and the coins are always ready to trade.
1674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promoting cryptocurrency through altcoin on: December 19, 2019, 12:38:35 PM
Bitcoin no longer can be the face of cryptocurrency as it has become a rare asset to hold.
Currency should be easily used and transacted for trades and deals. People could buy bitcoin after being familiar with crypto but most of them won't even try a crypto if their first experience of crypto was costly and late.
1675  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN]Kswallet.net - New Micropayment Service Launched +22 Coins - Official on: December 18, 2019, 05:24:13 AM
Hi,

When I enter my receiving addresss in Tensorcrypto ETC Faucet, I get this message:

"Multiple accounts are not allowed"

I have only one account, of course.

This is one of the common errors while using tensor, try again after some minutes and it works.
1676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the highest number of TPS a crypto has ever reached? on: December 18, 2019, 04:47:13 AM
Technically there are many crypto that could achieve thousands of transaction per second. But for most, transaction per second does not matter as their number and volume of transaction are low. Bitcoin is about 5 transaction per second while it's about 20 for ethereum. They are the most transacted currency so we feel a congestion on their transaction. Any other coins would be perfectly fine with low TPS but coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum need to scale up their TPS.
1677  Other / Politics & Society / Re: can the media be sued for falsifying serious information? on: December 18, 2019, 02:22:33 AM
So lets say an entire industry is affected by their false claims. Can others who work in said industry file a class action lawsuit against all of the media companies?

Has anyone ever tried?

There have been many cases of media being sued.  If you could prove, the written, audio, video are a great evidence to justify your claim.
If the wrong statement has caused damage, you can claim a compensation.

So if you had a group of individuals who work in a specific industry who the media is slandering , and if all of them were to build a class action lawsuit against them , and all of them came together to sue together with their financial losses of Q1-4 etc...

Is there a way for them to take back their statements on national television as well as money for their slander?

Yes, if proved false, they need to take back their statement.
1678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins delist and Bitcoin only on: December 18, 2019, 02:09:12 AM
Some services here in crypto only trust Bitcoin then they not use Altcoins now like example in Faucethub that very useful and helpful in the past with different cryptocurrency but base in government restriction then they can only run with Bitcoin and not Altcoins then now i read this news so i want to hear your opinion about this because i think in future we can only use Bitcoin

https://cointelegraph.com/news/coinfloors-ceo-explains-decision-to-delist-all-crypto-but-bitcoin-to-cointelegraph/amp

There are a lot of Exchanges and a lot that does fiat to crypto and vice versa. Coinfloor has been of the trusted and successful.
The team must have taken this decision with some plans in mind. They surely want's to make them distinguished from others.
1679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to introduce crypto currency to newbies on: December 18, 2019, 01:23:40 AM
People would be familiar and easy with currencies when they are widely accepted by businesses around them.  Another thing that's stopping most people to use crypto is volatility. A internal trading platform like coinpayments can ease on that. But the real advantage of crypto lies on getting a profit from trading. An intuitive forex like platform to trade crypto with some demos and bonuses would bring people in.
1680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is very bad for the European crypto community! on: December 17, 2019, 04:43:46 PM
New anti-money laundering (AML) regulations are coming into force by January 10 in Europe. The rules, which address cryptocurrency companies for the first time, look set to have a large impact on the industry.

The Fifth Anti-Money Laundering Directive (5AMLD) is set to take full effect in less than a month. It was first detailed in May last year.

It means that they're clearly in a war against decentralization.

They are doing whatever it takes to "take over" and make centralized payments dominant once again.

Bitcoin was created for us to have no limits in cross-border payments. Now they're trying to take it away from us, because of KYC. There's very little freedom on how much BTC and altcoins are we gonna withdraw, especially within the European union.

It's just that these lawmakers are doing something to make sure we do not prosper, but only them.

There’re two ways to look at this news one view is that it’ll force people to avoid bitcoins because of KYC hassles, second view is that EU has recognised crypto’s as an currency and this may pave the way for legalising it. As the article states many companies are shutting down, and many are making sure they comply with the rules hence only by February or March will we will come to know it’s real impact on bitcoin prices.

I'd rather look at it as a positive one. There have been attacks on the existence of bitcoin and crypto around the world.
There are both type of people, one who are okay with KYC and one who not who uses bitcoin and other crypto.
A general trader and investor has nothing to hide from the authorities and the involvement would restrict the fraud in crypto industry.
