1761  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bizarre crash! What cause bitcoin crash?? on: November 29, 2019, 12:26:15 PM
36 of 39 posts earned coin for posting here.

why did we drop to 6500 price?  that is a supporting number for major mining companies.

a big player with 70 watt gear turns a profit mining at that price.

so there is a push towards  5000-6500 price level as it is the break even number for big miners.

10k 20k 30k numbers are speculative numbers for traders.

so we have two forces one is always pushing to the breakeven price level.

the other is always pushing to the moon.

definitely John Mcafee should read your post and he would take the time to call the time traveler to tell us how mining will be in the future

I wouldn't call this price drop "Bizarre crash" for some unknown reason it's been very strange days in the last 7 days. The price rises a lot in few hours and dropped a lot many hours later, even for day trading it has become much harder to predict the price.

The current sharp fluctuations came from the news from China where firstly President Xi praised blockchain technology which spread a buying trend on Chinese people. Than came the officials statement about cracking down on crypto trade. There were also news of raiding of different crypto related companies and projects that has spread a fear on Chinese investors.
1762  Economy / Services / Re: CryptoTalk.Org Signature Campaign [Yobit Panel] on: November 29, 2019, 11:30:51 AM
Give them some time to refill the funds, based on my observation here, signature funds were refill within the day or maybe a bit more but it did not reach at least 1 week. Most campaigns are paid on a weekly basis and I think its not exciting to withdraw everyday as the post count limit were reduced to 5 daily.
I think it's high time the Yobit team made the withdrawals weekly as this would go a long way to reduce the transaction fees that they have to incur on every tiny bit of transaction. Just imagine over 200 participants making all these little withdrawals almost every minute you can guess as well the accumulated transaction fee all this would amount to. I think we can all save ourselves a few bucks to go another day or two if withdrawals are done at the end of every week and not every time the account balance are updated with funds per post.

They are surely not making transactions everytime you click send to my account. It is just transfer of value. The coin resides in the hot wallet of yobit. The transaction occurs only when you withdraw. And the exchange takes a fee from your bitcoin for the transaction.  So it does not make a difference whether they let the users withdraw every hour or every week.
1763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance Drama Continues as OkEx CEO Calls out Shanghai Office Claim on: November 29, 2019, 07:41:31 AM
I just want one answer and that’s what difference does it make if their office was closed or not?

It's like getting arrested or leaving the country on your own. A raided office would put multiple data and confidential information related to the exchange in the hands of authorities. It's even sadder to see crypto community being divided for their individual profit than improving the overall crypto community.
1764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter CEO Sees Big Future for Bitcoin in Africa on: November 29, 2019, 06:58:18 AM
As said above, Africa could be a quick growth market for crypto as a large population still remains away from organized banking system. But for it to succeed, people need to be directly involved in providing direct connectivity and devices to the population as most of the population lacks internet and technical knowledge to operate electronic devices. A crypto based telecom could be a good option for Africa.
1765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum staking concept 2020 (Proof of stake) on: November 28, 2019, 02:22:29 PM
Vitalik decided to switch to POS due to their competitors scalability. But I think the reason it was taking too long is because its very hard to make this transition and ethereum had very large data in it. So transition from POW to POS is really hard though they are working hard, lets see if they can do it.

Though sharding would significantly increase scalability of Ethereum, it could also pose problems we have never encountered. Ethereum needed this risk if it were to compete with newer utility tokens. But this should come only after a vigorous stage of testing and operation. It would have been better if they would have opted for a completely new blockchain and swapping the coins.
1766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You think terrorist groups around the world use Cryptos as a means of payment? on: November 28, 2019, 08:42:30 AM
There are not many terrorist groups that has a global presence or reach. They are mostly localized and prefers to trade in fiat or goods as they lack active connection to internet and expertise to handle payments.
ISIS in it's prime was said to be accepting crypto as donations.
ISIS were nearly an operating nation with their own economy and military and had supporters from different nations worldwide. Crypto did fit their operations. There are no as vast and open terrorist organization in the world.
The greatest misuse of crypto comes from money launderers. As it becomes easier to send their money overseas without risk.
1767  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin short term loan on: November 28, 2019, 05:29:33 AM
A post from a brand new account asking for over 3500 dollars without a collateral and promising 1750 dollars in less than 2 weeks.
It's too good to be true hence a scam.
1768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cyber criminals are using Youtube to install-Crypto jacking software on: November 28, 2019, 03:02:36 AM
If you are fond of watching Youtube and clicking links on it this is something you should be aware of
Quote
Slovakian software security firm Eset has uncovered that cyber criminals behind the Stantinko botnet have been distributing a Monero (XMR) cryptocurrency mining module via Youtube.

More of this story here:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/cyber-criminals-are-using-youtube-to-install-cryptojacking-malware

Youtube is not a place to download softwares. 90% of those available in youtube description and comments are loaded with malwares and adwares. You can visit Youtube to watch a tutorial but you should visit the official websites to download the legit copy of the software. People even fall for obviously malware content like bitcoin generators and bitcoin collecting bots.
1769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest Shopping Mall in USA Goes All in BTC ATMs for Holiday on: November 28, 2019, 02:15:38 AM
I don't think bitcoin is fit for this situation. transfer fee would be too high for a small amount of money, other kind of altcoins would be great.
anyway, things are going wild there. happy to see cryptocurrency's being applied
If you'll be doing transactions below $100 I can't recommend you using bitcoin as a payment method but if you'll be doing big transactions on mall specially on a shopping trip bitcoin would really benefit you because sometimes people tend to exceed their credit cards limit for a transaction so bitcoin would be beneficial for that.

Nevertheless it's a great move towards crypto adoption. If you happen to have just crypto no cash than it'd be cheaper and easier to pay in crypto than to convert it to fiat to pay.
Transaction fees can be lowered using alts, lightning network or internal transfer like that within coinbase mail.
1770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Upbit exchange was hacked. 342,000 ETH lost on: November 27, 2019, 03:24:08 PM
It's still not clear about the nature of hack. Exchanges have been exploited and hacked using different vulnerabilities and they are patching it everytime a loophole appears.
I hope more and more exchange would learn from it and work together to create a hack free environment on exchanges. And I also hope that this hack won't have much effect on the users.
1771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the next Bitcoin halvening could be the most dramatic one yet on: November 27, 2019, 02:38:14 PM
This would be a much waited event and still the most uncertain one.
The halving of litecoin showed that a bearish market won't stop the price from rising. But again Bitcoin is a hot topic for investment and with all those leverage trading, whales and exchanges may act in an unpredictable way to make the price much more volatile.
1772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much Money You Need To Win To Stop gambling, Is This Possible. on: November 27, 2019, 12:32:11 PM
I don't think people gamble to leave. It's just the people that don't love gambling that tries ones and leaves. A person who gets the taste of gambling won't leave it for life.
A huge loss may force some people to stop gambling but a win would not stop anyone.
Though it's always recommended to withdraw your winning and just gamble with what you've left.
1773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next News from Ether. on: November 27, 2019, 12:26:22 PM
There are several reasons why the Ethereum is changing it's blockchain. Ethereum became the largest blockchain just after some years in service and it was unable to catch up with scalibility. Supply is the another thing this upgrade seem to solve with a flexible yet small increment in the supply every year. Changing into POS would also make it environment friendly and would be the largest coin by market cap that is POS.
1774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin up 250,000% in Less Than a Decade Compared to S&P 500’s 147% on: November 27, 2019, 11:43:45 AM
New form of investment are always a good chance for huge profit but they also have large risks. Bitcoin was valueless in 2009 and was cheap in 2011 but even the most of the miners, buyers and holders hadn't imagine bitcoin would be worth thousands of dollars one day. Bitcoin now has proved that's its not just another bubble and is here to stay.
1775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NOW the time to get into Ethereum ? on: November 26, 2019, 11:37:20 PM
Yes, I know that there are many coins , and everyone has a favourite. But with the Ethereum 2.0 upgrade close, the move to Proof of Stake and the performance improvements promised , is now the time to get seriously into Ethereum ? I discuss this in the following video , as well as the opportunity it provides :

https://youtu.be/O8gTpGu9D_c

By the way , if you forward to 13:15 I also share my equation for getting Bitcoin at a lower price

I too feel Ethereum is being underrated at the moment. Ethererum has went through many technological upgrades and are better than ready to compete with other utility tokens.
The price of Ethereum has not recovered as much as bitcoin with their move to POS, the supply too would be much more sustaining.
1776  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your thoughts about Greta Thunberg on: November 26, 2019, 12:06:10 PM
As the Foo fighter says, Just another product of today. I'm not a climate change denier and I believe everyone should work to slow down climate change.
But she's being portrayed as a messiah of climate activist while she is just a TRP material for the media. There are millions of people that are actually working to protect nature and fight against climate change but they never comes into such spotlight as this kid who's words are scripted by some grown up does.
It's like watching the movie.
1777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The ridiculous projects of this year on: November 26, 2019, 11:47:47 AM
Now 2020 is already getting nearer i want to know which projects are the most ridiculous this year, either through investing or bounty hunting, for me its BlueNote, a bounty project from a well known bounty manager called 'Arteezy'. With due respect Arteezy have conduct good bounties as well like tokoin among others, What about you?

NOTE: do not rely on bounty managers when selecting bounty projects, do your own research

Almost all of the projects were ridiculously under funded this year. Even the large name as Bitbond failed to get the cap they were expecting for.
I'd call bitbond one of the most ridiculous project of this year. They were a good STO and has promised atleast 4% per year return on the investment that could reach to 8%.
They are licensed in Germany and 4% is huge compared to what German banks are providing the interest in. They also have the scheme to buy back all tokens on maturity after 10 years.
1778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal CEO Is a HODLr, but Only Owns Bitcoin on: November 26, 2019, 10:28:43 AM
Glad to see Paypal CEO being bullish on bitcoin and sad to see Paypal still has not implemented any way to fund the wallet with bitcoins. Moreover their anti crypto instance on crypto trading is putting down many users. Skrill at least has integrated bitcoin deposit for selected market but the startup founded by crypto enthusiast Elon Musk and headed by a bitcoin holder is still suspending accounts of users buying and selling crypto.
1779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS Recognized as the Top Blockchain by Esteemed Research Analysts on: November 26, 2019, 10:15:14 AM
EOS certainly is a project with a huge possibilities. It has solved many problems the ETH blockchain is still suffering from and has one of the largest growth of clients in new utility tokens. It just comes in second after Ethereum for having a large number of dapps. It's just the bearish market thats bringing the EOS down. If we have a boost in the prices, there would be much more projects coming to EOS.
1780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If You Bought Bitcoin Each Week in 2019, You’d Be up 49% on: November 26, 2019, 10:10:42 AM
I would try to do it next year every time that I would have a spare money I would put it in Bitcoin and see how much I could get for a whole year.
This could be a great way to save some money for my future and for an emergency expenses.

I don't think this would be an effective way of investment. Because putting your money despite of the market condition is not maximizing the profits that you can get from it, also, missing out on the chances of getting the most out of bitcoin. If you would always buy in a consistent time, always consider selling when the market declines. Keep your fund in stable coins, and buy back again when the market stabilizes. Saving money in Bitcoin is not a good idea if you don't know how it behaves, so try to take advantage of its volatility.

You can always select an average point, say, $8K and buy everytime the price drops below that and sell everytime the price hits $10K and hold in the between.
If I or anybody had really followed that rule in 2019, they would have yielded a nice profit.
