2501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: FINALLY- we can now exchange coins between different blockchains (ETH,BTC,TRX) on: November 11, 2019, 06:42:51 PM
~snip~
It is different changelly is centralized service, this one is dcentralized and trustless.
This is interesting. How did you do that. I mean a little technical aspect will help me to understand and may be for the visitors too.
Cross-chain atomic swap shows the real essence of how Satoshi said bitcoin should be used, which is p2p, without having to trust any third party exchange (and is usually centralized). Cross-chain swaps allows users to trade bitcoin with other cryptocurrencies like ETH, TRX and such or trade bitcoin and other different bitcoin for the users privacy concern and purposes. Atomic swaps protocols that exchange two different types of cryptocurrency can introduce optionality. Optionality in financial context is expresssed by options pricing.

I think this Bitcoin Discussion board is a wrong board for this topic. The best suit will be Service Discussion (Altcoins)
Talking about the service - it seems like Changelly type ?
Changelly is a bitcoin and altcoin exchange where users can shift between coins without the need of depositing coins to the exchange. Although the service is quite similar, what makes Changelly different but what the topic is pertaining, is that changelly is a centralized exchange while the one that was mentioned in the post is using cross-chain atomic swap which makes it a decentralized one.
2502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple CEO: As many as 99% of all cryptocurrencies will likely go to zero, on: November 11, 2019, 06:16:14 PM
Ripple CEO believe that the 99% of crypto-currency will go to zero as those coin has no use to solve any real life problem. And some coins have grown just because of hype in the market https://cointelegraph.com/news/ripple-ceo-only-1-of-todays-cryptocurrencies-will-survive .
Most alternative coins are really just made out of the hype and the trend, there are even some coins that are being used for advertising and low key promoting some celebrities, for instance using it as a price for those fans who wants to meet their biases or vice-versa, using a celebrity's name to earn and sell coins. These instances are not speculations or not, this issue was even brought up at the local boards. Then so, after that phase of that new coin's trend, it will be eventually left out and forgotten losing its value and potential of surviving the crypto ecosystem, plus real crypto enthusiasts would know it best that they shouldn't invest money buying coins that aren't of any guarantee.
2503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are underutilizing Bitcoin on: November 11, 2019, 06:01:24 PM
People need to start accepting Bitcoin and keeping it, not converting it.
you should have said "continued using it" instead of keeping because if they keep it, it sounds like HODLing and that is not doing anything.

in any case this problem has always been with bitcoin. the price rise alone makes people want to "invest" in bitcoin instead of seeing it as a currency. that is why so many people are calling it store of value these days instead of a currency.

Quote
If you think of Bitcoin as just a virtual placeholder for fiat currency, stable coins will be the future and Bitcoin will slowly fade away.
Thoughts?
not unless someone finally comes up with some actually decentralized stable coin otherwise centralized ones are not even close to being 0.001% useful as bitcoin!

Hodling cryptocurrency actually does help. People are holding it because it has value to them. "worth" is given when something is valuable to someone.

I could sell someone a rock for $100,000 if they find "worth" and have the resources to purchase it.

If someone is willing to hold a bitcoin and not get rid of it because it has "worth" to them, then I am all for that.

Yes, HODLing could help someone individually considering their so called worth of it, but it doesn't really doing any help toward Bitcoin's economy. Hodling is non-sense and all it does is to limits the growth potential and adoption of bitcoin, and if you're part of the crypto space you should consider looking at the bigger picture before deciding because whatever you do within the community will surely affect you eventually, So instead of hodling, for us to be able to create an economy that fosters adoption and help the network grow we should practice      spend and replace strategy. For instance, buying $25 worth of BCH online, then use fiat in buying $50 worth of BCH to replace what had been spent.
2504  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to reduce signature campaign spam posts on: November 11, 2019, 04:54:23 PM

In my opinion, this is also due to the fact that the minimum number of posts for signature campaigns is far too high and the participants are virtually "forced" to write useless posts. Normal active users write between 3-4 posts a week, if at all. However, many signature campaigns require at least 15 or 20 posts.

This number of required posts per day would really be draining for a person since human body isn't that powerful and has its limits, especially mentally. When the members that are part of bounties continually deals with the long term stress and activation of their brain, their body's stress response releases cortisol that is higher than the usual level, this will eventually interfere with body's function, amd since the members are highly obliged to make a content and post something just so they would still get paid and won't get kicked out of the campaign. I think what is needed to be done for this spamming problem to be resolved is to really lower the post count per day, now if lowering the count of posts needed isn't possible, the campaign could set up a higher standards in accepting members that will participate to the campaign, just so the quality of the posts are guaranteed since the dedication and the ability of the member is also guaranteed.
2505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Will not Ban Bitcoin Mining! on: November 11, 2019, 04:31:15 PM

Should you have any questions and comments about this, kindly spread the word to the comments below.

in a few months ago China was one of the countries that hated bitcoin so their megara government had passed a law on bitcoin bans, their president only supported blockchain technology because of the reason they wanted to launch their own digital currency based on blockchain technology and now why they lift the ban they have issued, I doubt about this kind of news.
China has been known to be a competitive country and that characteristic of the country might have triggered their government to make such significant change of policy towards cryptocurrency. These past few weeks, China media has been being all about bitcoin and blockchain, in fact just today  they published an article where bitcoin is on the front-page. The article is entitled "Bitcoin: The First Successful Application of Blockchain Technology." This just shows how China's view with cryptocurrency shifted because of their support and plan of using blockchain technology. China might have saw the potential of applying blockchain technology with the businesses and concerns of the country, especially about security and counterfeiting issues since blockchain has a feature of being a ledger with an exceptional encryption.
2506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can more ATM's increase adoption for Bitcoin? on: November 10, 2019, 06:20:18 PM
Increasing bitcoin atm's migjt increase the convenience that crypto owners are struggling to have at this moment. Having many of it will make non. crypro people curious about ehat it was for and that will spark the start of their search about it knowing it phase of their life and will or might lead to adding the adoption of bitcoin that we are all aiming and thinks that this massive adoption is the only thing that stops bitcoin and being so perfect asset.
2507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3 Things You like To learn on: November 10, 2019, 05:30:46 PM
For all of you who follow various content creators to Crypto?

what are 3 elements or pieces of information you like to see?

That the content creators may be missing out?

What would you like to see?

What would make you generate interest towards a specific content creator?

Since the forum is getting older as time passes by, the member's population is also growing and the number of members that are so naive and innocent about how the community works and not knowing what they could stumble upon inside the crypto space. it would be best if more topics about tips and guides of what to avoid in this place like scammers, phishing, trading strategies, mining, investing, dangerous sites, and many more will be posted so we could get rid or stop the growing population of victims of scams and theft because thia kind of issues is giving cryptocurrency a bad name.
2508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How we can introduce bitcoin to local people on: November 10, 2019, 05:22:27 PM
One day, I think to myself about how to spreads bitcoin to other people. After I create threads https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5191717.0, I see many of us don't try or don't have time to come into a gathering or make a meetup. So how we can introduce bitcoin to local people in our country if we are not trying to tells them about bitcoin? I know that will related to the regulations in every countries but we can introduce to our close friend so they will spread it into their closest friends too.

And if this is succeed, I think cryptocurrency will grow step by step. I know we can spread bitcoin online, but that doesn't mean all people in your country are aware of bitcoin. How they can know bitcoin if they never use the internet to search the news while we can tell them about bitcoin and another coin by offline.
Since people is now being hooked with earning profits from anything possible especially if they would hear that they could earn in an easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy manner, we can actually catch their full and 100% attention. If we will introduce bitcoin that way, we can take them with us and teach or tell them further about how advantageous, profitable and convenient bitcoin is and how helpful it could be for them. On the other hand, although we  can do the latter idea, there's no such thing as guaranteed since not every local people can afford risking their dearly and hard worked assets over bitcoin and might settle with tgeur lives w/out bitcoin in it.
2509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For new people, when they go on the journey to bitcoin. on: November 10, 2019, 05:15:42 PM
Beginners will take a lot of help and knowledge from here. Considering their naive thinking, and innocent minds not knowing what they moght face upon entering the crypto space. This topic might change theur perspective and influence their goal since most of them beginners or newbies are mainly and higly driven by their aim to aern and earn without knowing and having any vcear outcomes ahead of them. Just to add, patience is also important because without it and the strong faith with their coin they might mess up and lise it all in the end.
2510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrency soon be an alternate payment option? on: November 10, 2019, 04:28:29 PM
Just a month ago, giants like Starbucks, Nordstrom, Whole Foods, and AT&T announced that they accept cryptocurrency as a payment option.
With the  popularity that cryptocurrency is growing there is no doubt that it will soon be among other payment methods. Especially for the international payments, with its ridiculously low fee and time taken for inter-border transfers it is surely the favorite among the traders.
Also, with giants accepting it as a payment option there is no other need to prove its authenticity.

Do you own any cryptocurrency yet?

Cryptocurrency's adoption is now being enormously done it is not surprising because cryptocurrency is really very advantageous and convenient to use especially for people whose schedule is really hectic. The acceptance of the society with bitcoin being a payment method have been seen in various institutions and businesses, not only in the giants like starbucks, Nordstrom and everything mentioned above, but also in small scale businesses like small tech store. Even in developing countries like Philippines,, cryptocurrency is widely accepted as payment option. All in all, cryptocyrrency has a high possibility of being a payment option cause at this moment it's actually alternative, but it can't still replace fiat.
2511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google Quantum Computer - Serious talk about it feasibility on: November 09, 2019, 06:25:36 PM
QC can break private keys, that's a fact.

""In the published article, Google explains how the 53 qubit internally developed quantum computer – Sycamore – was able to perform a calculation in just 200 seconds. Their benchmarks suggest that this would have taken a classic supercomputer around 10,000 years to carry out the same calculation.""

Even tho 53 qubit is impressive , it is still much lower than breaking the encryption.

A 54 bit encryption requires at least 54 qubit to break it's interaction.

As BTC is using RSA 1042, you would need 1042 qubit to break it, which is extremely diffuclt to build

I am guessing we are 15 years from a 512 qubit and 25 years from a 2048 qubit

A 2048 qubit would be pretty dangerous for us right now. But let be honest, in 10 years we might have already changed our encryption to a stronger one.
The ability of these quantum computers is quite threatening considering how fast it works. But if you'll look at it on a deeper and broader aspect, its not the computers that we need to worry about, computers are computers no matter how good it functions. computers will be useless without any man power involved. What we need to worry about is the people and the hands that these powerful computers will land on. Let's all just hope that those who will.take care of and use the computers are not the villain type that will use the power of technology and use it for their own advantages.
2512  Economy / Economics / Re: Private Coins from banks and governments on: November 09, 2019, 06:13:34 PM
Do you think that banks, governments and investment companies such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and other will try to replace the decentralised coins and try to lure their clients to invest into their own private blockchains? What can be done to prevent that?
Now that cryptocurrency is going mainstream, obviously banks and other big corporations are going to try make their own crypto. There were rumors of Amazon making a new coin, and such. There is no way to stop this, or rather the need to stop this. Most likely these coins will fail like the thousands of other shitcoins.
I don't banks and other big corporations could make it possible to make their own cryptocurrency becauae yhere would be a lot of things, disapproval, and obstacles that will get on their way and need to deal with before making it a succesful currency. Plus the government won't allow it since this will go against the country's currenciea and that is the least thing the government would want, to have competitors in terms of their money. That would be too much for them to handle if ever since they are also facing bitcoin's effect on USD.
2513  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: More time as a newbie on: November 09, 2019, 05:53:12 PM
The newer 'merit' system means you will be spending likely more time as a newbie.  Previously it was possible to rank up to Jr. Member and then to regular Member status in a matter of several months depending on how active you were.  Now it could take longer than that.  This should be good for the forum as it will bring less spam, low quality posts.
The new meritnsyatem will surely bring out the effort and creativity in members, most especially the newbies who aims to climb up the ladder and get that certain rank they always wanted to be in. Let's say that they will do it by force and not because they wanted to, so what? As long as it will make the forum a better one with better contents, all is fine. Soon they will realize that the new merit system will instill them a habit worth having and developing without them knowing that the forum caused it.
2514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: List and explain of posted Trojan,Virus and Malware in the last Months! on: November 09, 2019, 05:19:31 PM
Members are really having it all, especially beginners. They're having all the help and guide. All the cautions they need to take note just so they can avoid being a victim of viruses, trojan, and malwares, especially those that have been blatantly created malwares. These thread sums up what needs to be avoided, now we need to do our part which is eduacting ourselves about things like this because we can'tbalways rely on anti-viruses for they still has their limitations and incapabilities regardless of how guaranteed the quality of its service is.
2515  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain and Social Media on: November 09, 2019, 04:46:58 PM
Hello everyone,
How would you like an application that makes you earn with creating good quality content such as writing articles, creating fun memes?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
An application that would make me earn money just by creating good quality content such as writing articles and such would be great and will surely go for it if I've found out that the application's legitimacy is guaranteed and won't waste my time. There's actually a site that works like this and if I'm not mistaken it was called Steemit, like what the others have said, it will pay you for every content you'll make but the pay will depend on how many upvotes and reputation your post got.
2516  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Warning}: Fake Trezor pops up in Google on: November 08, 2019, 05:23:31 PM
This has been said and will be said a lot of times now upto the future, never trust pop up sites and windows, as much as possible ignore it so you could completely avoid it and be victimized by it. If you're really into uaing the site, evaluate carefully everything and if something seems off then don't ignore your gut feels and try veryfying if the site is fake or not. Make sure to only get application links at official community of the softwares and/or buy a licensed one.
2517  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin goes down, no new rich people anymore on: November 08, 2019, 05:16:23 PM
because bitcoin prices dropped as a result no new rich people arrived suddenly. . . on the contrary, many people go bankrupt because they suffer losses ... haha haahaa
Bitcoin is a very volatile coin so itbwill surely go up and down from time to time since its stability depends on how much or strong it was being used and demanded in the market. And your claim is obviously baseless. You seems like one of those people who failed at handling bitcoin because of the impatience about the volatility, the type that would panic and sell things out out of high influence of emotions and now being pessimiastic over everything at the crypto space especially about bitcoin.

Added  a poll.
Tsaka regarding sa pagbibigay ng merits, hindi natin mapipilit ang tao lalo na at iba iba tayo ng expression of gratitude and we can't judge them that easily, although your upbringings are good there's still a downside in it.
2519  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [KARAGDAGANG KAALAMAN] I-Maximize Ang Resources, Gumamit ng Grammarly on: November 08, 2019, 04:28:33 PM
