1861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the best welcome offer for you? on: June 21, 2020, 01:55:43 PM
Offers coming from a gambling site seems to be interesting for me as always because it is one of the criteria or factor I check on exploring and choosing a gambling site I would play with. But before getting amaze on such offers, I do always check first the legality of the site because good offers for me seems to be traumatic or might be suspicious that they might tend to caught players but they have a hidden agenda out of it so I do always check up for background information before getting amaze from offers.

For me a great offer that would satisfy or would caught my attention to play is the welcome bonus of course which can be monetary or a big discount for game plays because that was already a big thing to me. But still legality check first for me before the offers.
1862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Home Court advantage = Not an advantage now because of no-live audience? on: June 20, 2020, 10:46:29 PM
I think even though there will be no live audience at the "new normal" set up of setting the live sports event just to make the postponed games make happen, home court will still took as an advantage because the psychological effect that knowing you were playing at your own court where you tend to spend most of your game plays and training will make you familiarize the place which is an advantage compared to playing on the opponent's place.

But that was just one factor affecting the result of the game. I think having the presence of live audience in the home court although it provides support do also provides pressure on the players due to crowd expectation that the home team will win the game. So I think it is better or best that sports event will take place on home courts even without the presence of live audience.
1863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this considered cheating? or Ilegal? on: June 20, 2020, 04:26:34 PM
Hello, This happened to me today, on a provably fair Dice Bitcoin gambling site I lost some money, then I checked my bets using an online verifier, in their website they say they use SHA512 algorithm to hash server seed, however, when they revealed the unhashed server seed I checked it using a SHA512 calculator... It should match the hashed server seed they provided to me, however, it does not match.

So the hashed SHA512 of the server seed is different from the hashed server seed they gave to me when I started my session. Isn't that considered cheating? I mean they probably are calculating right the dice value, however, the only fact of having wrong information on their provably fair statement should be enough for a legal complaint, shouldn't it?

Please someone tell me if it is enough to put some lawyers to work, or if it would be just a waste of time. Thanks!

The first thing that you have done is right since that was really suspicious and since you have tried to check out yourself what's really going on, better do have some contact or conversation with the gambling platform you have played with so that they would take responsible actions and state if there is some error that happened and maybe your bets might be retrieve.

But once there is no response from them and you have a proof about what happen, it might be considered illegal or cheating already since you have done comparison of the first hash you have than the current you used on playing. That will be the time you must seek legal consultation to know what actions you can do to solve the problem.
1864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel this pressure on physical gambling? on: June 20, 2020, 01:43:46 PM
In physical gambling (whether it's a big casino or just small gambling), do pressure on your opponents or playmates actually happen? Like for example, you only set a limited capital but since your friends still want to play, you will end up using all of your money. Or let's say in a casino, you have used all of your allotted money on gambling but since your opponent is winning and he wants to play more, do you exceed on your limit? Just because you don't want to look like you are afraid, that you don't have enough money already, and that you are losing?

Since I do online gambling, I don't feel this kind of pressure. I can stop whenever I want or when I have used all of my money. I don't feel embarrassed or what.

PS: I'm not sure if this topic already existed here and if there's I'm gonna delete this thread.

That was normal and it really happens commonly specially when gaming have been exciting and the players are still into a hype and the momentum of the good game has already been set into fire.

But being driven by this kind of pressure will still depend on the player because as a responsible gambler, you still must know your limitations to avoid being pushed into the limits of your resources you have set for playing. Remember that you can do always have chance to play on some other time because once you agreed or get in touch into the invitation of playing even you are already reaching your limitations, it might lead you into a decision of borrowing money that can lead into debts. Even pressure is present in a physical gambling on casino establishments, still you must be patient and know when to stop to avoid worst cases to happen.

1866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A new survey shows that UKs gambling addiction is getting worst day by day. on: June 19, 2020, 10:48:49 PM
GambleAware charity in association with Yougov conducted a survey which revealed shocking information, that around 1.4 million gamblers (UK citizens) were facing problems with their gambling addiction.

It’s also worth mentioning that the report further claims that around 3.6 million people were effected due to someone’s else gambling problem, though I don’t understand how would they be effected by someone’s else gambling problems?.

Lastly many experts have downplayed those numbers quoted in the survey, but they have acknowledged the truth that addicted gamblers are not getting the help they require to cure themselves, and since we’re a community I feel that we should try and help these gamblers as, and when we find out about their gambling addiction.

This information is really bad for the number of gambling addicts are still on a high rate due to unmanageable gaming experience. Actually, seeking help would be easy for there are many professional people that could help those that are affected by being addicted on playing gambling. It is just that the help would be efficient or effective if the gambler would also help himself out because nothing would happen if he just undergo int certain treatment but he doesn't help himself to get over playing gambling or controlling his playing to get rid of addiction.

Moral support and presence of people he trust would also be a great help on fighting gambling addiction. We must all be aware that like other cases, gambling addiction is something that we must take seriously for it is affecting not just the individual but also the people around him. The key to avoid addiction is really to control and manage your gaming for the addiction starts when you are already in no control of yourself.

1868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Spend Bitcoin? on: June 14, 2020, 10:59:26 PM
Hi Y’all,

I don't know how about you guys but I'm really bored being quarantined in my flat. So I did the “Best” thing possible. I started to shop online. I had some bitcoins left so I decided to spend them as well.

And it turned out that was an adventure in itself.  Roll Eyes

So I compiled my favorite options of spending bitcoins in an article, which I managed to publish on Paybis.

In case you are interested, you can check it out here: https://paybis.com/blog/how-to-spend-bitcoin/

I’d like to turn this post the best one on the topic, so I’d appreciate some
recommendations as to what other spending methods I should add.

Thanks and see you around after this quarantine ends!

You do have clearly elaborated on how Bitcoin can be spent in many ways which are not already new since I think everyone already knows those common ways but it was really a big help specially for those who are new into having Bitcoin and wanted to use it for quite sometime at this stage of pandemic.

Your blog just shows on how Bitcoin can really work to be spent on many ways possible and that was really good. But still always remember that having Bitcoin is really like a privilege since it is already hard to obtain or earn by just doing campaign unless you are knowledgeable on trading or have money to buy or invest to have Bitcoin by that way. The point is that do not just focus on how you can spend your Bitcoin, still do also think about how you can obtain more because it is valuable and you can use it on a more important matter. Learn to balance the spending and at the same time earning so you can stabilize having Bitcoin specially now that it is hard to be acquired.
1869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your stategy how to grow bitcoin on: June 14, 2020, 10:35:35 PM
Hello bitcoin lovers!
Because of wrong or weak stategy, most of traders/holders unable to grow the expected amount of bitcoin. Kindly share your best stategy how can anyone grow their bitcoin amount?  I believe, thus we bitcointalkers will help each other Wink

Actually it was not easy to accumulate Bitcoins by just depending or relying into joining into bounty campaigns since we all do know that the amount we can obtain from working into campaigns are sometimes just enough so sustain our daily needs

But if you do want to really earn and grow your Bitcoin, be active on engaging into campaigns and do not spend whatever you will gain so it means you have to get a stable work out of cryptocurrency which will sustain your necessities. Acquiring Bitcoin is another way on which you will buy or trade using fiat so having a stable job is great in need. Working into a company or people that pays Bitcoin can also be possible (though I think it cannot be possible or it might be rare since stable jobs are payable with fiat). Actually the answer on how you can grow your Bitcoin is to constantly working into possible ways on how you can acquire it because it is impossible to get something by doing nothing.
1870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One mistake and l have lost all bitcoin on: June 14, 2020, 10:24:48 PM
There really comes an instance in our crypto journey that we face such scenario of being a victim of such scheme or other related reasoning since we all do start of being newbie in this kind of industry we are all currently in to.

The good thing that you can get into the experience you have is you have learned something that you must not depend or rely into something you just saw and decide that you wanted to invest. Better be always sure and verify everything to avoid experiencing loss when it comes to doing investment. Also invest only the amount you can do afford to loose since there are really times that when we explore, trial and error is applied because potential coins can be discovered out of the comfort zone of just looking up into the top cryptocurrencies. Although it was a bad experience for you, well you at least have learned something so that you will be aware now to check first before coming up into deciding to get in an investment.
1871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you do think you can start betting in sportsbook again? on: June 14, 2020, 02:00:25 PM
We are all aware of the present situation, there's a pandemic and most of the sports are not permitted at the moment, however, with some news and rumors going around in the space, I have a feeling that sports will resume soon.

The sports that I like to bet when sports will resume.

1) PBA (our local basketball organization)
2) NBA
3) Boxing especially on popular boxers.

Maybe it may take quite sometime before everything gets back to normal which includes hosting a live sports event since there is still no vaccine or medication being discovered that will cure or stop the covid-19 pandemic. But there could be a possibility that there can still be a soon response on this on which sports events might be conducted in a "new normal" manner in which only players are allowed in the place with no audience and if there will, social distancing and other health protocols will be needs to be strictly conducted to avoid the spread of virus

I have read a post in this forum that at this month of June sports betting on boxing might be held which will follow strict health protocols.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5248072.0

Slowly, sports events will come back in a "new normal" manner while there is still no vaccine so betting on sports book will sooner or later be back once again. Let us just all wait until such time for there are alternative ways possible so that we can still be able to have sports betting.
1872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Good news from Ohio - Sports betting will be legal now. on: June 14, 2020, 10:52:54 AM
That was really a great news because there will be no more fear of getting caught specially for those people who wants to play gambling but being restricted due to the law residing in their place of Ohio.

The passing of the bill would benefit both the government and the people for sure because mutually people will get to enjoy sports betting due to government's support to this implementation and government can also benefit from the taxes that can be gained on this gambling game (because legal gambling games pays taxes to the government).

Hope that people will be responsible enough so that the government will not get into a change of mind towards the passing of the bill allowing the legalization of sports betting in Ohio.
1873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Betting this June? on: June 13, 2020, 04:35:19 PM
As what the title of this thread we may bet online on boxing if this ambitious plan of Bob Arum pushes through.

Quote
Arum: We'll Do Four-Fight ESPN Cards Two, Three Times A Week Starting In Early June

This may sound ambitious but knowing the connection of Arum in the boxing world, i hope he can pull this one and this is good for us bettors too  Smiley.

Quote
“We have contacted most of our fighters,” Arum told co-hosts Gerry Cooney and Randy Gordon. “We plan to launch the first week in June in a safe, secure way. We’re gonna initially launch in Nevada.

What are your thoughts on this guys?

https://www.boxingscene.com/arum-well-four-fight-espn-cards-two-three-times-week-starting-early-june--148810

That was an alternative initiative just to let sports events to continue even at this state of pandemic. Bob Arum was really an influential personality in the world of boxing so there could really be a possibility that this idea of him to have boxing event might push through as long as there will be strict Health protocols that will be implemented.

This news is good specially for sports bettors because they can now have a chance to bet on sports events even they are staying at home. I think this will also be implemented into other sports events on which only players will be at the venue with less audience capacity or no audience at all just a live stream of the game. If that would happen then it will be a great thing because sports betting events will now take into place enabling sports bettors to play even at this pandemic.
1874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your recommended ways of gambling. on: June 13, 2020, 03:40:35 PM
(..)
If you have some tips which helped you to gamble for years, please share here. I have limited budget but want to gamble for longer duration even I will not make profits.
For me, the less is more. If you gamble too much, the risk is too much also. What is good, you should control your gambling and don't chase losses. There are still more upcoming opportunities.
If you win some, go log out and enjoy your winnings because as you said, you can't win every time.
That what I learned in my gambling experience since I admit I am not really lucky in gambling but still, winning sometimes.

I agree. Learn to let go of the losses you have obtained on playing gambling specially if the amount is still manageable or accountable to be forgotten. It is just like you must only play based on the resources you have so that you will know your maximal point or your limitations that you must not exceed so that you can still control the way you play gambling.

Also, having discipline and being able to control the times you play gambling can also help you to manage yourself on your journey in gambling. Always see into it that you do still know what you are doing to avoid creating impulsive decisions that might just bring you into another problem related to the main problem.
1875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you borrow money as your bankroll if you trust your skills in gambling? on: June 13, 2020, 01:11:38 PM
I am currently thinking of making an experiment on my own, I have friends who are willing to lend me money for whatever purpose I like.
For this purpose, I like to use the money that I will borrow as the bankroll in sports gambling.

Anyone here have tried this? What can you recommend?

It is great that you have a bunch of friends that are willing to lend you some money and use it into any ways you desire. But it was risky in a sense that it will be a shameful matter once you haven't been able to pay or return back the money you have borrowed once they already need it.

Having skills on playing gambling is really an interesting thing that people do want because it is like an easy key to get rich once you have that skill because by just playing you can already obtain lots of money. But we all know that was kinda rare so it is risky to trust your skills on playing gambling knowing that it is not literally your money you tend to spend. Better yet use it on doing business or other stuffs that is profitable which is also suitable at this point of time so that you can gain profit and that the money you have borrowed will be worthy.
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Physical Gambling Casino Simulation through GTA V on: June 11, 2020, 11:25:02 PM
Let us just all be contented for a moment on playing at online casinos since casino establishments are still temporarily closed due to existing lockdowns to prevent the spread of virus. Although we are not experiencing the same excitement and enjoyment just like playing in a real casino, but still let us all be thankful that we have an alternative way possible to make us still play even at this quarantine wherein we tend to stay home for our safety.

GTA was really a fascinating and an interesting game to play because it is not just a role playing game but also a simulation game which is really good that enables you to somehow feel or experience like you were the one in the scene. At this point of time, let's just be contented by playing such simulated games while vaccine is still not available. All of this are just temporary and time will soon to come that we can all be able to play into casino establishments again.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 11, 2020, 06:35:19 PM
After 2 months of strict quarantine in the Philippines, PAGCOR (Philippines Amusement and Gaming Corporation) submitted an approval to resume land-based gaming to IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force). Last month they submitted the request including the proposed safety guidelines to follow by the operators.

Last March when the Philippines started its ECQ (Enhanced Community Quarantine) where most businesses have closed, and only essential businesses remain. While the start of June, they lifted the lockdown to GCQ (General Community Quarantine) were workers and employees can go back to work and the opening of some businesses. For the whole 2 months of ECQ, most businesses have no income, same with casinos. Until now, casinos are closed and gambling is still banned in the country to avoid crowded places.

Now, PAGCOR revealed that they submitted a request to resume the operations of land-based casinos. They included safety protocols such as;
-wearing of face masks
-strict compliance of social distancing
-limiting the capacity of not more than 50% to both table games and EGMs
-preventing standing bettors or loitering in the gaming areas.

Quote
The possible date for re-opening is June 16 when GCQ restrictions come under further review.

Some land-based casinos have already shown their preparations for the possible reopening of casinos. Safety measures include regular disinfecting of equipment, thermal scanning, sanitation mats, and more. Big casinos are being monitored, waiting if they are planning to re-open soon.

This is good news for gamblers who badly want to gamble if they allowed the reopening of casinos. But knowing the correct situation, our country has already almost 19,000 positive cases, they might reject this request. And if ever they will reopen land-based casinos, perhaps only high-class people can gamble because lower-class gamblers don't gamble in a big casino. Personally, I don't know if they will approve this request or not because unlike the gamblers, the public will probably don't want to reopen casinos.

Do you think it's safe to reopen land-based gaming knowing that the cases are still increasing by hundreds every day?

Source:
Code:
https://pokercastasia.com/2020/06/02/pagcor-waiting-for-approval-from-iatf-for-covid19-to-resume-land-base-operations/

Update as of now that the whole Metropolitan Manila or the National Capital Region (NCR) have been put from MECQ (Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine) down to the GCQ (General Community Quarantine) that is decided by the president and the IATF, the total number of covid-19 confirmed cases in the whole Philippines have reached and surpassed the 24,000 mark which is really alarming for the past few days after the backlogs test results from the past months have already been released.

This comes into my mind that letting people get outside make them to get into excitement because the crowd seems to be going out in a massive number knowing the pandemic is still on makes the cases to rise up to even higher number of confirmed cases.

How much more if the land based opening of operating the casinos would bring once the request of PAGCOR have been granted? Even though there were precautionary measures that will be implemented, still prevention will be better than cure since there is still no presence of vaccine to cure this pandemic. But if it is in need or a call for the re-opening of the economy that is intended for the essence of rising up the economic state of the Philippines, then it would be fine with me as long as there will be strict restrictions that will be implemented all the time.
1878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "NEW NORMAL" Betting on: June 11, 2020, 03:47:58 PM
There won't be a problem doing "new normal" type of betting strategy if the people who are relying or depending their daily needs are already claiming to start up operating sports betting events as long as there would be precautionary measures that the facilitators will do to avoid the further spread of virus.

On other countries live sports events do still happen but with the absence of live audience to exhibit social distancing measures. I think that would be a great idea to inhibit such practice if it is really in need to start up opening the economy where sports events can be categorized.

The vaccine is still under thorough experimentation so precautionary measures that they call to be entering the category of "new normal" must be implemented if the people will insist to operate such sports events for betting as well as for the income of many people depending on sports bet.

But still it would be best to wait for the vaccine and keep ourselves inside our home though economy is in need to be open but on a "new normal" basis.
1879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: June 10, 2020, 11:37:59 PM
I guess we all knew that Las Vegas casinos were planning to open soon, but how many of you’ll actually thought that they would be opening it so soon? because I’m shocked that they have opened it as the number of corona cases are rising only.

Furthermore flights to Las Vegas are already full, and people are coming in large numbers to play out there, hence I’m sincerely praying that no one gets infected while playing out there.

Though they have set up various safety measures, but I’m not sure what their protocol will be if it’s found that an infected person played out there, will they be forced to shut down their casinos, or will it be business as usual for them?.

Sources:

https://q13fox.com/2020/06/04/after-historic-casino-closure-gambling-returns-to-las-vegas/

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2020/05/graphic-tracking-coronavirus-infections-us/

That was quite alarming as for now that there is still no vaccine or cure for the Coronavirus pandemic and the death toll is still rising on a daily basis although the rate is partially slowing down due to precautionary measure being done by different countries, still it is not enough because those actions are just to lessen or slow down the infectious rate but not to cure the virus.

I think if ever there would be an infected individual once the casinos have opened in Las Vegas, maybe they would just make it confidential or hide it into public notice because I have read on an article that even the pandemic is still on, the mayor of Las Vegas is already insisting to open the casinos so we can conclude that they are up into business more than public health safety.

To be sure, better not to play on casinos at this time until vaccine is available because playing casinos and gambling can still be possible through online which is the most convenient way possible at this time which makes as safe at home away from the possibility of acquiring Coronavirus.
1880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The best device for online gambling. on: June 10, 2020, 03:31:28 PM
Well,  many of us have already appreciated the benefits of online gambling whether it be casino or even poker. But what device is better suit for it, mobile or  big screen monitor connected to PC?

I'm feeling awfully uncomfortable being connected  via mobile, even the big mobiles of 6.8-inch screen  are not entirely satisfactory. Therefore I largely at my 32-inch & 4K  monitor when gambling online, primary  the slots machines. And what about you?

Well, it is up to you on which device you would be satisfied and be comfortable to play online gambling. Both smartphones and big screen television are great devices to start with since you can do have a convenient gaming experience just like playing MMORPG on a daily basis.

For me, I would choose playing online gambling using my smartphone since it is the most common device or gadget I hold on the entire day and I think it doesn't matter on my case if it will be just playing on a 6 inches mobile screen or into a 32"-64" flat screen television. What matters the most is the you enjoy playing on a comfortable manner with no pressure because it would be a lot more fun playing online gambling if you were just enjoying the play.

Also, you might also consider using laptops or desktops as well if the availability of smartphone or television won't suit your preference.
