Looks like you lost your bet because the NorthPort has a double-digit lead as of this moment and there's only 4 minutes remaining.

Maybe before you took that bet, I hope you looked the players who played in Converge. Their import Quincy Miller didn't play because they already secured themselves in the playoffs along with Bay Area and Magnolia. A winning streak is useless if your import accidentally got injured in their remaining games and it will be a disaster for the team if he will not play in the playoffs. We know that's a good decision coming from Coach Aldin Ayo not to play his import. We know how impactful import is in our league and we've seen it tonight. The Batang Pier are on their way to win this game.

This is very important knowing that Converge is a team that really relies on their import without him inside the court is far from the performance that they can do when he is inside. His presence really changes the entire system of the team. I agree with you that the decision coach Ayo did is a good strategy to have a fresh import when playoffs start.

Winning streak is nothing if you have your best weapon because of an injury that can be avoided.

He choose his cards right allowing to give up this game and prepare for much tougher competitions.
I agree because after all, Coach Ayo has been a coach for Collegiate level basketball competition, so he knows when to let his trump cards play and when not to.

Converge really played well in their first 2 seasons. They clinched the playoffs on their first season and it's a good achievement already though they lost at the first round and now on their 2nd season, they are on the top (currently 4th) which is a good achievement. The bad thing that I'm thinking though is Converge is an independent team and we've seen how SMC and MVP are milking independent teams. I just hope that Converge will not make unbalanced trades to these 2 big teams like what other teams are doing. I see a good future with the team with their current roster (maybe a bit of trades might help the team) and their current head coach.
2522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 21, 2022, 02:33:28 AM
Will this be another season that Lakers fail in even qualifying for playoffs?

Considering the current level of performance, they are really going that way for now. They are the second worst team in the Western Conference after Rockets now. Lebron is giving his best in every single game as usual. Now he has got a thigh injury and missed three games because of it already. If they have another very poor season then I assume Lebron might think of leaving in case he gets a reasonable offer. He is already waiting for playing beside his son and the team don't matter for him I assume.

Seriously not. Judging from their recent performance, yes they got a few wins along the way but they are still struggling to be consistent which is surely not enough to even qualify in the play-in tournament. And if that's already their limit then they should start rebuilding in the next season because their current roster won't get anywhere far.

But they still have a chance to improve while the qualifying phase is still far, I'm thinking that they should stop revolving around Lebron because that's mostly where they messed up, Lebron end up working alone because they are following his play. Let Lebron adjust because there's no doubt that he can still contribute, let the other players step up so that they will be the ones who will end up carrying the team because Lebron cannot do that job anymore.
Yes, consistency is the key for them right now but I can see a hope for them. Last games were not so bad for them, I feel like we might see a little improvement in the at least short term. I agree with your point about Lebron. I hugely respect him and actually love his approach to basketball in the last 5-10 years, but he cannot carry the team anymore. He is just merely too old. That must be accepted by everyone, most of all Lebron. He is still a huge star but it is obvious that some things have to be changed for Lakers, and Lebron might be the biggest of them.
I don't know, but if you look at their last season, they started hot, but when Lebron got injured, they fell down on the rankings and then didn't make it to the playoff. And the situation right now, is that even if Lebron is playing, they are still a bad team. So I doubt that they can make the adjustment, unless they do some trade before or after the All-Star Break to somewhat change the course. And we must have to admit that Lebron is really ageing, he can't carry a team no more like he was with the Cavs, wherein he has the team in his shoulder every game. Now, it's different, he takes care of his body, but sooner or later it will show the wear and tear, and nobody can beat Father time, just saying.
Also add the fact that they are in the Western Conference.
I watched a video on ESPN (Youtube) regarding the possible position of Lakers right now and he said that the highest that they can achieve is 9th spot.

Currently, they are now at the 14th spot though they won their last 2 games, still it is very awful to see. Even though we are seeing Westbrook playing better now compared to where it was last season, the Lakers are still in the 14th spot. I don't know if it's only me but the competition in the Western Conference is tougher than that in the East (only my own observation and other might see the other way around) and their roster? Let's face the truth that the current Lakers team right now isn't a playoff contender team. That 9th spot that he said is when their 3 all stars will play, but we expect that they will not play the whole 82 games, so I expect a lower ranking for them at the end of the season.

Well, we know that Lebron will be 38 this year and he is on his post-prime years and a few years from now, he will retire so to those Laker fans out there, just accept the fact that they will not win a title unless they will change the whole roster.

Here is my bet for today's games:

Northport Batang Pier vs Converge Fiberxers

Since Magnolia lost against the Dragons yesterday, Converge is now tied with them at 8-2. They will want to win this game in order to clinch the top 2 and a twice-to-beat advantage in playoffs. They are in a roll win 7 wins streak and looking to extend it to 8 against the Batang Pier.

End of first half and the Batang Pier is leading by 3 point and the odds ML for Converge is @1.80 now so i'm taking it because i think they will come back and win this game against the Batang Pier and extend their winning streak.

Good luck to us.
Looks like you lost your bet because the NorthPort has a double-digit lead as of this moment and there's only 4 minutes remaining.

SMB won but did not cover the spread. I guess Fajardo did not play, if he did, then most likely they will cover the spread. Bad pick for bettors who choose the spread of SMB as the game was a bit close and Phoenix was able to ensure covering the spread.

The current game between Magnolia vs the Dragons is quite entertaining, Magnolia will be heavily tested here.
That was a good game for SMB even without JMF, they are still hanging there and hoping for more wins so they can have the chance for next round.
The game between Magnolia vs Bay Area is indeed a great match, it looks like a finals. Magnolia is down by at least 3 points only and still have the chance to tie or force an OT. As expected this is a high scoring game, watchin the whole quarter and its really hard to pick who will win because there's no safe lead for both teams.
There are still a few minutes left and the lead is very much manageable by Magnolia. If they lose this game, they still should be proud of themselves as Dragons are used to dominating their opponent but what we are witnessing now is a close game where Magnolia is not giving up this game.
It was a great game between this two top teams, both are not giving up but eventually Bay Area prevail and handed Magnolia their second loss this conference. I see how good Bay Area, and now they are the leading team which guarantee them a spot in the next round. There's nothing to be ashamed of with Magnolia, they played well and for sure they will bounce back against Bay Are when they meet again. Few more games before going into the next round, other teams are still working very hard for that spot, this is a very unpredictable conference so far.

Bay Area Dragon (BAD) won against Magnolia today which we can see is that a beautiful and good matchup the match are close both teams are keeping their momentum and defending very well but bay area dragon are very though team as we all know that their import scored well even though the beast abueva trying to break his play but Powell is dominating. Abueva can't break his play.
With that win, the Bay Area Dragons secured the top spot in the conference... or not Cheesy.
There is one win for them to be in the top 2 spot. The chances of it to happen is very low but it can still happen. If Ginebra will win their remaining 4 games, they will get the top spot even though the Bay Area Dragons win their final game against the TNT. It's because Ginebra won against them, and I guess that's the rule, right?

No one can stop Powell and that's a fact. His lowest score is 32 points against Converge and Magnolia. That's how dominating he is in the PBA and it's a good choice for the Dragons to pick them over Nicholson because with him, they have a point guard that can initiate some plays but at the same time, they have a scoring guard that can score more than 30+ points in every single game. Nicholson is big and a scorer as well but Powell's contribution to the team is way better than him and we've seen it in their performance every game. No one can stop this beast even in the playoffs. Every team in the playoffs will be having a hard time defeating this team.
2525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: November 19, 2022, 06:46:40 AM
Terrafirma's next matches are San Miguel Beermen and Phoenix. They can still affect the standing of San Miguel if they can beat them. San Miguel right now needs every win they can get in order to get into the next round. Dyip can deny that chance if they can beat the beermen. The odds are against them beating the SMB but still, this is basketball, anything can happen.

Though DYIP won its last game against NLEX but i do think that SMB Beermen will demolish them because like you said that every game is a must-win for the Beermen and also there a good news for the SMB Beermen fans out there, rumors have it that Junemar Fajardo will suit up for today's game against Phoenix which is a good tune-up for him for that game against DYIP on their next outing.

Beermen -9.5 @2.64 vs Phoenix

Risky bet but will take the risk because of Junemar's presence.
Both the Beermen and the Fuelmasters are in a 2-game losing streak, but JMF playing might change the complexion of the game though I believe that he will not play that many minutes because of his injury. I mean he might play but not in his usual form.

The remaining 4 games of the Beermen will be crucial. Winning them all will give them a 7-5 record after elimination and that record might land them to around 6-8th spot depending on the situation. Losing 2 of their remaining 4 games will increase the chances of the team to get eliminated. I'm a SMB fan for a long time already and I know that the team isn't performing very well when it comes to a conference that has import (at least in the past few years). It's always Ginebra that comes on top. Surprisingly, the MVP teams are currently at the bottom. Meralco at 7th, TNT at 8th and NLEX at 11th. Is this the time for independent teams to come on top now? Cheesy
2526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 19, 2022, 06:27:56 AM

The diversion of attention of the fans are now on this match. Okay, there's no more Spence and Crawford because of this match and that's why schedules and deals won't be possible anymore.

Both has good set of records, as Thurman's performance isn't convincing against Barrios. Maybe this time, he'll retrieve himself and will show the expected Thurman that everyone wants.
For now we will not see a mega fight between Spence and Crawford, but once they both win in their respective fights, for sure the hype will be up again as the fans would always want to witness a big fight which is the undisputed fight between them.
Yes, but not sure if both are still interested, the two boxers have said that they don't need each other as they have cemented their legacy.

Cemented their legacy? Nah! IMO, you can't have your legacy cemented until you fight the best of the best in your division.
When or lose, as long as you don't turn down any opponent, that for me is the true legacy.
They are just protecting their precious records. They wanna be like Mayweather. Well, if this fight between them won't happen, it will for sure hunt them for the rest of their lives. Either of them are not worthy to be called the best in their generation.

For Thurman, I don't think that he already cemented his legacy. He can't even beat a post-prime Pacquiao a few years ago and that's what you called "cementing their legacy"?
As for Spence, he's near but more fights are needed for him to cement his legacy.

Ali, Tyson, Pacquiao, Mayweather. These are some of the fighters whom I think cemented their legacy for their own reasons. Spencer Vs. Crawford like many wants to happen, has a chance that it will not happen at all because like you said, both of them don't want their records unscathed. They don't want a "1" in their loss record. As for this fight, I voted for Spence via TKO like what he did to Ugas, and I don't expect a KO on this one.
2527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 19, 2022, 06:06:43 AM
The NBA nowadays is becoming more and more competitive. More than 20 teams are capable of qualifying for the playoffs. We can only count the teams that are weak and some rebuilding teams with lots of future first-round draft picks like the Utah Jazz and OKC are performing at their unexpected pace. I am hoping that some teams without superstars can enter the playoffs as they are more fun to watch. Imagine the reactions of teams like the Brooklyn Nets with nearly $200 million in salaries and then all of a sudden a team like Indiana Pacers with less than a hundred million dollars performs better? The most expensive salaries this season will be spent by GSW with over $200 million. And there's Draymond Green wanting a max contract.
Looks like we are seeing a different trend this season compared to where it was a few years ago. It just shows that teams are becoming more competitive like you said to the point that a team doesn't need an all-star to be a better team.

A few years ago, in order for a team to enter the playoffs or at least have a chance to be a title contender, you need to have at least 2 all-star players in your team. We are still at the beginning of the season, but we are seeing teams that don't have either an all-star player or a superstar player but currently at the top 8. Teams like Pacers, Wizards, Jazz and surprisingly the Kings are now at the top 8 on their corresponding conferences and the ones who has an all-star player are currently at the bottom. Sixers, Nets, Heat, Lakers, Warriors now at the bottom 8.

Well, we are still at the beginning of the season, and anything might change as they play more games. We might see those teams at the bottom to go to top 8 and vice-versa.
2528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: November 18, 2022, 01:49:15 PM
DYIP won and ended their 25 game losing streak, what a win for them.
NLEX really needs to reorganize their players and have a better plan and strategy. This is very unfortunate for them, but expected at the lower position. My mistake to place a bet with NLEX, I thought they have a better chance here. Game 2, is for Ginebra and Blackwater as expected Ginebra leading all the way hoping to get some win tonight on my bet.
Many thought that the Dyip will try and make a new record for most consecutive losses in PBA history. It looks like they aren't since they got a win already.
Did anybody watch the whole game? I mean what is the reaction of the Dyip team when they got the victory? Blackwater was very happy when they got their first win after 29 straight losses against Magnolia so I expect that it will be the same for the Dyip team.

On the other hand, looks like NLEX getting Coach Frankie Lim as their head coach isn't working as the team are now in a 5-game losing streak. They might still clinch the playoffs at the bottom 8 if they will win on their last 2 games and other teams will lose. In PBA conference, you need at least 6 wins to have a higher chance to advance to the playoffs.

Twitter and Bitcointalk aren't the same.

Elon Musk can get profits from Twitter. Can he get profit from Bitcointalk if the worst thing happens, and he bought it? Maybe he can get profit from advertisements coming from different website but overall, I don't see Theymos selling the forum to some weird businessman like Elon Musk. I don't see Theymos selling the forum for no important reason, and it will be a disgrace since this forum was created by Satoshi. I mean the value of this forum is way higher than any might think here.

2531  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are the chances of FTX raising funds... on: November 17, 2022, 09:01:05 AM
If there’s a hype probably someone will invest.
If the purpose to raise funds is to compensate all the losses and stay in the competition then why not. This might not be so easy for them because of what happened, most probably there’s already a trust issue with them. The question is what if SBF committed another fraud? This might be double kill for FTX. Well, we will see if they will push it through.
Double kill not only for FTX but also for those who still trusted him and fell to this "raising fund" shit again.
Hype? There is no hype with this one. The only thing that this has is lack of trust because of what happened.

I don't know if it's only me, but we are in a crazy world of crypto where there are still people who are trusting the project regardless of what happened to them in the past. Just look at LUNA. We expected it to crumble and fall down after what happened to them but still, there are investors who are willing to give them a second chance thus, they are still operating though thru a different project already.

I will not be surprised though if there are still some investors who will try and help SBF with his +$6B fund raising and I will not call them stupid or whatever others want to call to them since they still trust him regardless of what happened. I'm just a bit confused why he is the one that is organizing it though he already resigned as the CEO of FTX.

2532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ONE MAJOR LESSON LEARNT SO FAR THIS WEEK FROM THE CRYPTO MARKET 😥 on: November 17, 2022, 08:52:59 AM
What lesson did you learn from the market this week?

I personally, learnt to always take profit.
This week alone. Hmmmmmm let me think for a minute.
I don't know if I learned it just because of what happened last week since I'm already doing it for quite some time but, being patient and doing nothing is better than panicking.

I mean for me; I didn't learn anything since I'm already doing it for a long time and things like these are the ones I always see year after year after year. It's just that what happened to FTX was the largest one.

For newbies, maybe they learned a lesson. Things like "Don't put huge money on exchanges." or "Not your keys, not your coins." or whatever it is. You learned to always take profit. That's good for you as long as it's working on your favor. Some investors aren't taking profit for short term unless they are traders and for me, what happened last week is something that will not change my long term strategies.
2533  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So many good news but Market and coins don't go up on: November 17, 2022, 08:34:13 AM
Good news? Where? Can you share links of good news right now?
I can't see any good news right now on the internet because it's been flooded with one of the worst ponzi scheme in the crypto history which is the FTX-Alameda ponzi scheme and Scam Bankman-Fried.

The bad news weighs the good news and bad news = negative sentiments to investor thus, making the price of the whole market go down. I don't see any good news right now. All I'm seeing on the internet is the FTX scam, Alameda scam, the contagion effect caused by Scam Bankman-Fried and no good news at all.

Don't expect good news right now because what happened last week and its effects towards other businesses and firms might take weeks or until the end of the year or possible until next year. Just look at the effect of FTX scam. BlockFi in trouble, Genesis in trouble, more companies that has connection with FTX might be in trouble as well because of what happened. Contagion effect.
2534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: November 17, 2022, 08:15:40 AM

Yes, Meralco became a different team when they had a good import, so they keep winning, thus far, Mcdaniels is already 2-0 with his new team.

Mcdaniel's impact to his new team really help them to play harder, they won the game to continue the chase of having that spot for the next round, to those bettors who loves in staking with the underdog this win gives them decent amount of money. I was in the impression that SMB will also have that same result since they are the slight underdog and the game is close up to the last minute, but Mags didn't give them that chance to win this one.

No sister team for now for the SMB, as Mags doesn't want to leave the number 1 spot yet.
We know what's the capability and how McDaniels played during his stint with TNT and NLEX.
When he was in NLEX, he is my top bet for import of the year at that time but because of some personal reasons, he left the league thus, NLEX lost in the playoffs.

TBH, I know how McDaniels play and how he will dominate the league again to the point that I bet them to win against the Bay Area and he didn't fail me as they won and now, they are on a 3-game winning streak. I just don't know why other teams aren't prioritizing him to get as an import where he already proved that he can be a dominate import in the PBA. Now the bottom team Bolts without McDaniels are now at the 7th spot already with him.

SMB on the other hand is now on the verge of eliminating in the regular season as they lost against the Hotshots. I don't know but it might be shameful with the SMB organization if they will not clinch the playoffs this conference.
2535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 17, 2022, 12:42:09 AM
I saw the news about Dwight Howard is playing on the league in Taiwan. There's now a follow up news that a team there too, the GhostHawks are wanting to take Carmelo Anthony to their team.

So, it's very likely that he'll take the sign there and play for that league. I felt bad again for Melo when he's got stuck with no team want to take him just like the past seasons when he's on the same situation.

But hopefully, he gets to sign there and play against Dwight's team.

Carmelo isn't signing in that league.  If he doesn't get signed anywhere here he will just retire.  Most likely he gets picked up mid season.  His wife La La wouldn't live there she likes the LA/NY life.

Well, if there is no other option then playing in Taiwan is better than nothing. He is not that valuable anymore in this era of NBA basketball though he still has it. He can still be competitive coming from the bench.

He can showcase what he got in Taiwan, play basketball that he loves and earn a decent income.

If Howard and Carmelo becomes successful in Taiwan, it can be a trend for veteran NBA ballers that can't have a contract in NBA. The schedule there is not that hectic like NBA so even veterans can perform better there.
Carmelo is the kind of player where his ego is more important than any others so I guess I'm leaning to the fact that he will not play any lower league than NBA because that might hurt his ego. I still remember the time where he doesn't want to be a bench player but instead, he wants to be a starter (I guess it was when he was in the Thunder where it happened).

On the other hand though, what Howard did might create a domino effect for some NBA players out there who didn't have an opportunity to play again in the NBA. We might see some veteran players that can still play to play outside the US. I would not be surprised though if Melo will play not only in Taiwan but maybe other league outside US since I guess no team wants his services anymore or maybe... there might be one team who will sign him.

He particularly chose Black 15 for $10K on roulette which he could have won $350,000 but a friend took the $10K and replace a safer bet. I know this is likely not to happen in real life. But let's say it did. What would you do?
At first place, my friend doesn't have any rights to change my bet because it's my money and not his/hers.
Second, we can't predict the future and that safer bet might be a better choice. It's just that, the riskier bet won and unfortunately because of your stupid friend, you didn't win that money.

These scenarios happen rarely and TBH, I don't know if there are some stupid friends out there who will change the bet of their friend because at first place, it wasn't their own money. Maybe on the next time you will go to a casino, try to go alone so nobody will change your bets. If I'm on that situation, I'll just move on with it, but the friendship will be over Cheesy.
2537  Economy / Speculation / Re: The most stupid dip in Bitcoin's history - and why we can be happy now on: November 16, 2022, 08:02:28 AM
Just what happened last week is a quick reminder to us investors that don't keep too much money on exchanges because things like this can happen.

Stupid dip or not for some, I always like dips. We always like dips. Intelligent investors like dips for an obvious reason. We know that sentiment plays a big role towards every market. Binance not buying FTX was a positive for some but for most, it wasn't because they thought that it would be a good thing if CZ buys FTX and instead of the sentiment being positive, it went the opposite. This just shows that there are some investors who still can't understand what's happening and what can happen in the future.

Well, the dip that happened is like "another opportunity" to buy at a lower price. We all know what will happen in the next years Smiley.

Do we need to switch our jobs to online jobs or a full-time investment in cryptocurrency? If you were fired by the company, would you still find a job you love as quickly as possible?Or you might choose to relax your mind and look for work again after a while.
Do you have better advice for work?
Online jobs are always at the top of my list, and I would rather do online jobs than a regular 9-5 job.

Luckily, I'm on a state where I love what I'm doing but at the same time, earning from it and it is enough to cover all of our expenses and at the same time, I still have a portion of my income to be used to invest into different assets. Being fired by a company isn't good especially if you sacrificed anything from it. We've seen tech companies laying off employees or freezing their job hiring because of what's happening globally.

Finding job that you love is always the choice for me although there are some people who love to go out of their comfort zone so that they will learn more that will help them in getting jobs easier in the future.
2539  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never depend on cryptocurrency as your only source of income. on: November 15, 2022, 01:38:58 PM
You can earn in many ways that is related to crypto. If I remember correctly, there are some freelancing websites that can pay the freelancers cryptocurrencies, right?
Trading alone as your main source of job is very risky because you don't know what can happen to the market.

What your friends did was wrong because they left their main source of income to another thing that isn't sure whether they will get income from it or not. They chose to go for a quicker way to get money but riskier than a slower way to get money but more sustainable and can be for long term. On the other hand, if they are a professional trader and when I mean professional trader, they are earning more than they are losing then maybe they can make it as their income source.

TBH, I almost did what your friends did but I didn't continue because I choose to remain on my regular job because it pays me my monthly bills. My earning from signature campaign is what I'm using to invest into different assets, and it serves as my emergency funds as well (I'm converting it into fiat).

Based on recent trend in Bitcoin, this is the worst year in crypto history and the year is not over yet. I was talking to a friend this morning concerning the current crypto trend and guess what? This dude is loosing hope already.
I also heard that bolded text in 2018 when Bitcoin's price is on a freefall. Cheesy

When people seeing Bitcoin and crypto going down, they often use that phrase and it's pretty common already. Now with regards to investors losing hope, if you are new to the crypto space, it's normal I guess to feel this because I myself as well felt this one. I started in 2017 and in 2018, I saw the huge dip and I thought "it is over already". I always read comments in social media platforms such as "Bitcoin is dead" or "It's over for the crypto space." blah blah blah but here we are still.

What I'm trying to say is that, just trust the process. An investor can't be a millionaire overnight (unless he invested into a shitcoin and pumped miraculously, or he is a billionaire at start Cheesy). It takes time for an investor to gain profits and in Bitcoin. If you bought in 2017 at its peak and chose to hold and sold it last year, then you will end up making your money 3x. Patience is virtue like they always say, but not all patience pays off the investor so always do your own research.

And I don't even know how to encourage myself to invest more in Bitcoin, is it right for me to go ahead and buy the dip ?
Just look at the charts.

See the 2017 bull run and the 2018 "year of hell". That alone might be enough to convince yourself but if it wasn't then you might backtrack even more and look at the price of Bitcoin. I always believe that bear markets = opportunities whether it is in the stock market or crypto market or whatever market it is. As long as you invested in long term coins then you'll be fine.
