@ Bitbay Team

When are we going to have a (Bay) forum to build a constructive community? The creatures that are lerking and hanging on every word getting involved is not a good look.. IMO this place is not going to attract many new investors just haters, and as an investor it annoys me a little that this is not already done! all the time spent deleting posts etc

Could have been spent sorting this out..

You never replied to my inbox so here is something else that's on my mind, maybe others also>> who knows......

I have yet to see a set date for forum hence my reason for asking..

Mick.

Personally, I would want them to hold that for now. Btctalk forum gets lot of traffic and that means more investors. Creating new forum can help once everything is set up and ready. Once they create new forum all the current investors will move there and this thread will turn into 100% fudfest which means new investors would become less attractive to it.

I hate going through Fud myself but BitBay gets more visibility here than it will get anywhere else.

I just downloaded the windows wallet yesterday and still not synced only have 1 connection. Has anyone else had any trouble? Would really like to get my coins off the exchange before I get impatient and sell them.

I have 12 connections. Are you using smart contract wallet? It takes an hour or less for it to sync

David, i installed the new wallet why does my Balance show 0 bay?

Cos your wallet isn't sync'd yet ?

synced 100% says what now:)
Got your BAY in the QT wallet? Then just send them to the new address in the smart contract client.

yes problem is is have 2FA enabled so this won't work.. cant i just disabled it for 30sec let it authenticate and then re-enable?

@unusualfacts30 yes i had old wallet now the new but i have my google secured with 2FA
Sorry, but I don't understand what you are talking about. I really don't see the link with 2FA.

Sorry this was when registering a mail addres (with gmail).. now working on the transfer:)
to backup the wallet are the key 1 and key 2 also the backup? i want to store that

key1 and key2 ARE your wallet. Wallet.dat is not your wallet make sure you know that. You can put different passwords on key1 and key2 and you can even hide them in jpegs. Very secure and hackproof.

What does wallet.dat do? I just deleted it and my balance went 0. lol

I didnt say "delete it" either. It IS used. It holds a history of the multisig addresses in watchonly. Just hit the "rescan" button at the bottom and your coins will appear again.

I tried rescanning and it stayed zero. I restored it from recycle bin. I was curious to see if I need to back up that file with my key1 & key2 and it seems like I will have to back it up. Grin

You have to wait for the rescan it can take up to 30 minutes. Also make sure your keys are loaded when you do it. Open the wallet again so it imports the wallet. Since when you rescanned it may have not been actually imported so it wasnt in the watchonly list.

I see. You're right. I saw something that said "It'll take an hour to rescan". I just ignored it because it was still at 100% after few minutes and I thought it was done. Thanks! I'll try again tomorrow. I do need to create new wallet.dat.

I dont even think you need to make a new one do you? It should generate a new one automatically.

Yes, it generates automatically but re-scanning part takes a bit before my coin reappears.

2FA? Where? You don't need to set up e-mail to send coins. Do you see BitBay address in new wallet?

Follow steps 1-8 if you don't see BitBay address in new wallet. Skip step 1 if you see it.

1.) Open New Wallet. Go to File>New wallet> Save key1> Save key2
2.) Copy your BitBay address
3.) File>Exit
4.) Go to C:>Program Files>BitBay>bitbay-qt
5.) Send. Paste
6.) File Exit
7.) Go to C:>BitBay>BitBay
8.) Wait 15 minutes and they should appear.

Great work David. All question marks work fine and they're very helpful in understanding different functions!

This is the most critical part. At least for me because I have tendency to shut down my computer few times a day. If you have only one computer please be sure it's always on after you send an offer and clarify this to buyer as well when you send an offer. This can be real pain and leave the other person in confusion if one of you turn off his client before deal shows under "Open Contracts"

"Once an offer is accepted, you will see the Halo client start negotiating. Please always have the Halo program running or else the deal can not progress. The two peers must be able to talk to each other at all times."

Ok so with a lot of thinking, I realize that following the dev schedule and doing markets is the wisest choice because it is low hanging fruit. It doesnt make sense to shift gears. An earlier comment said that funds will circulate before the peg and even if the price goes lower, true investors will stay in the coin.

I'm still going to draft up what i need to peg, start to identify what parts of the c++ source need to be changed and so forth.

Regardless, the immediate goal of getting markets is the road map for the coin, it gives the coin more impact etc.

There was mixed community reactions to the drop in price and the comments were about 50/50 which makes me see its best to fulfill the immediate foreseeable goals.

Sounds like a winner.  Although no one wants to see constant losses in their portfolio, better to work on creating value and usefulness for the coin than worrying about artificial means of support IMO.  Especially when it's unfamiliar territory (so take your time on pegging strategy and code and test the hell out of it first).  Without the markets and client working perfectly - or at least smoothly without too many issues - there's no reason to even bother with the rest.

At a guess... almost all of the 50% wanting pegging immediately are just seeing that as way of exiting at a higher price.  After all, regardless of whether the value of 1M BAY is worth .0001 BTC or 100 BTC... it's still just 1M BAY unless you're more interested in selling it than you are in holding and using it.

It'd be great if everyone could get what they want immediately.  It would also be great if I could fly and had X-ray vision.  Neither one is very realistic however.  Wink

Anyone up for testing smart contract via email?

Make sure your bitmhalo.exe is running and you aren't getting libeay32.dll error.

If it's running smoothly on your side we can test it by creating smart contract for tiny amount.

Thanks buddy a vid is coming shortly and a wallet update with a minor fix to the help menus that my obfuscator changed.

I'm going to take the obvious milestones which are low hanging fruit. The community here has had mixed opinions on pegging first so im just going to be speccing it out making some flow charts looking for a few superdevs continuing my search for trainees and keep my mind strong.

My days get insanely busy, I dont get days off and i work from morning til night. it doesnt benefit me all that much to post on forums either so you guys should help respond when you can fill gaps. I'm going to stay focused.

No worries. Focus on your goal..don't worry about these fools they're always looking for something to complain about. Most of them have never designed a working software in their entire life.  Wink

BTC/BAY has nearly triple the volume of any other coin on Bittrex... That's something to keep in mind even if the price is low. I am happy where we are as an investor, personally.

yeah, which is mostly fake. no sugarcoating things please. Let's be real with things around here.

Fine, let's be "real". You have not a single clue that any of the volume is "fake" and you are just talking out of your ass. Some of the volume might be, and it might not be at all. You have literally no way of knowing so you cannot come in here and state it as fact and act like you know everything when you are just spouting off a bunch of ignorant, factless claims.

factless? get a dictionary you fool before you go around abusing people. Shows your level of intel and mentality altogether. Any kid from the block can tell the fucking volume is fake as fuck. Go learn to read a chart and "market history" that bittrex provides for free for your education.

162 BTC fake volume?

lol. Let me get a hit of what you're taking

There is no investor protection without coin distribution. Right now the coins distribution is low. Pegging will destroy the market.

I think it's up for debate whether it's pegging or free market that's better for distribution. So far I've only seen volatility increase wallet inequality not lower it. Dogecoin being a prime example of that.

How can you create distribution with pegging? You are limiting the volume available to be moved from hand to hand. How can that create distribution?

You take away the advantage whales enjoy in the short term. Whales can manipulate and set walls. By limiting that volume you're freeing up that game for everyone.

A dump is meant to create wallet inequality followed by an increase in price. The richest wallets get richer during a dump. They're the ones scooping up coins during a firesale.

A pump is meant to create wallet equality in order to get out of a coin which is usually followed by a decrease in price. The more bagholders the merrier.

To limit the volume in both ways you're basically spoiling the game for short-traders. Whales can't get out of their own dumps as easily and they can't reap as many coins during their pumps.

So, in the end you only care how much your coin is worth. As I said, you don't think long term. You can't ask for stability within a young market without proper distribution.

You are very wrong. This is not about pump and dump. Pumps and dumps are nothing but freemarkets. You are better with FIAT if you don't like pump and dumps, or with GOLD. Pumps and dumps are still creating distribution, which result in more healthy market.

To limit the volume in both ways is a BIG mistake. Yes you don't have your evil pump and dumps that everyone fear, but in the same time you won't have distribution.

Whales are no the problem my friend into this market right now. I invested around 50 BTC into this. Do you consider me a whale? I don't consider myself a whale. Whales are not a problem within a 400k marketcap coin. Whales starts to be a problem from 10m marketcap coin because they can damage the coin.

This volatility is generated by daytraders. This is a new kind of game.

In the past, the things worked differently. They changed the game.

- They are not pumping the markets with bots anymore, they are creating volatility and they are milking BTC out of the market. BUT this is working only on fresh markets with low distribution. That's why we don't see those 2-3x price increase after the ICO. Because the players don't make money like this anymore if everybody expects to dump for 2-3x ASAP after the ICO ends.

Believe me, a coin will die as soon as the distribution stops. With a pegging system so early present, the distribution will stop very fast. The tech will come, but new investors will not wait days to invest few BTC. They will look for another investment. And this is how you kill the coin.

+1000

If no one sells..no one would buy and coin will die. Buys and sells are required. Whether you call it P&D, Whale manipulation, Organic move..it's up to you. If you can show the investors that coin has value...price will have no choice but rise. We're still in phase 1 so patience is the key at this moment.

Bumped from the other thread. Worth noting:

What i can tell you is this and its important. The guy who hired me wants more than all the investors combined to have a successful project despite the absolute obstacles that are thrown in his way. He is way too kind a person and probably was not making the wisest of business calls. I'm doing everything in my power to help him as much as i can to make his project a success.

I believe it will be as long as there is a bit of patience.

It's pretty obvious from his post that there isn't one or two person working on it. It definitely looks like big project with solid long term goal in mind. David said that THEY had him fill out tech stuff in FAQ and then there is THIS guy who is kind and hired him.

It's safe to say that these guys are not playing around and they're serious about the project regardless of obstacles that comes in their way. Only time will tell the rest.

In one post David also mentioned that these guys are well connected. Truth be told they've assigned David a job of  Lead Dev and he wouldn't know much about what's going on in marketing side or other side for that matter. It's just like working in big corporation where HR doesn't know what IT is doing and vice versa.

It could also be possible that their original plan was to create a competitor site to Alibaba but then they heard about decentralized marketplace and thought it would be a good idea to combine both of them and that's when they hired David.

Not enough transparency. If things are left to the imagination you can't really blame people for using their...imagination.
That's true and for me David is certainly not to blame of being not transparent. No, for me it's the BitBay Team, that I only see moderating this thread and for the rest depending on their lead developer to do some PR. They should do the talking and just let the developers do their job, which is...well...developing.

Well I agree, but there's one problem with that whole thing, to me it looks like the Bay has a broken wallet situation.  Can't PR a situation that ain't getting fixed. The working wallet was supposed to be out by now, and meanwhile instead of dev work 24/7 to get that wallet fixed all i been seeing is dev spending half the day flaming the net the other half hooking up with his BC homies on some campaign to get him elected dev of the year. Halo shill accounts keep posting vote for david z and whatnot. So marketing is getting done, just not the right kind, and by the wrong people, at the wrong time, for the wrong outcome.

Wallet works. Please chillout.
