Can you really blame him?

I still don't think that avalon batch 2/3 will have a negative roi, and i'm most worried about the production capacity of avalon itself, not of bfl.

The asicminer usb miner stuff should fit it.

Yeah I highly doubt they will have that at the place I will go shopping Cheesy Otherwise I would be delighted to buy one right now Cheesy
I gave up at buyng hardware at local shops. You will not find anything appealing.

maybe a 2K BTC buy just seems big to noobish little me Smiley

by the way since I'm posting already, I want to publicly praise DougTanner for being a friendly, on-topic beacon of light in the shitstorm this topic has been devolving into lately.  Cool
You should have seen the 50k market buy that drove us out of the shit 2 days ago... 75 to 105. That was huge. This seems huge because the market depth was tiny.
2525  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 05, 2013, 08:20:07 AM
How many times do I need to tell that we will not see 100 again?  Huh

We've heard this one before  Grin
The buy wasn't huge at all, and I started to see ignore that egomaniac guy.
2526  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Very cheap hosting and support for mining in Iceland, opinions? on: May 04, 2013, 10:22:11 PM
This is Thor DC, we bought them over (advania did) last year.

Well, ask for a better price.

Full Rack colo specials
Full 42U Rack
8kW Redundant Power
Only €1100 per month – and yes, that says €1100 for an 8kW rack including all power charges!!!!!!
2527  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Very cheap hosting and support for mining in Iceland, opinions? on: May 04, 2013, 10:15:57 PM
4kW @ 1000? Its not cheap. At least, not as cheap as you would expect with almost free energy.
I was quoted 1200€/42u/11kW @ Thor data center, and I declined cause its not cheap...

Also, you had to go to the datacenter to measure the rack? Seriously?

What beats everything is starting a rally with your wrong order and gaining instead of losing out of pure luck. Smiley
I admire your bot, Richie!
2529  Economy / Speculation / Re: holy shit, china is going parabolic.. on: May 04, 2013, 05:13:59 PM
And honestly, if this is a 30 minute special being continuously aired on a channel like that... it means they already have.
What's the data we have on that? How often is that being aired? And for how long is it planned?
2530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 04, 2013, 05:09:20 PM
I think it's an extremely low volume, it's possible that we are overreacting.
You don't say? Bitcoin overreaching? Tongue
2531  Economy / Speculation / Re: holy shit, china is going parabolic.. on: May 04, 2013, 04:15:24 PM
BTCCHINA shows no parabolic thing at all.

The amount of BTC traded per day has increased from some hundreds to now over 10K per day over the last few months - it might not have increased as rapidly as some are suggesting but for certain it is rising dramatically (it is now the 5th highest listing on the bitcoincharts.com list).

That's correct. During the bubble (< 10 april) the btcchina price was always 10$ or so above mtgox last. However during the last days it was below. Right now, it's a few dollars above.
This report imo is not gonna cause a lot of movement. However, we will see. There is no need to predict such a move, if it happens, like these guys are sure about, you can just get in early.

Which BTCChina did you look at? The price has been about 10% higher than Gox for a few days.
it was at 108 vs 102 when i saw it.
2532  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 04, 2013, 01:27:01 PM
I think we got a rocket on fire.
Yea but why? I still can't find a reason to buy...
I guess i will wait a few days, whatever happens...

BTCCHINA shows no parabolic thing at all.
Maybe the downloads are being manipulated?
Just like yesterday we saw a crazy attempt to save the price from this downtrend?

Whoever he is, he decided to claim back bitcointalk.org.
2536  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 03, 2013, 12:09:37 PM
How did you guys get into the forum ? Ip address trick like me, or are the proper dns records finally propagating ?

Yep. IP Hack here too. I heard a that new address will be http://bitcointa.lk although I can't confirm it.
No, it's not. That's my domain, and i pointed it to the correct ip, however theymos has to edit the parameters here with SMF to use bitcointa.lk as the main domain. If he does so, it can bring the website up again thanks to me... And i would fell proud of it.
2537  Other / Meta / Re: status of bitcointalk on: May 03, 2013, 11:55:37 AM
Interesting.  I had to edit my hosts file to access the site.
What IP do you have to force?

bitcointalk.org is now resolved as 184.170.143.141 which I suppose is wrong.
Mi sembrava strano vederti online...
109.201.133.65 bitcointalk.org

Wow i feel so lonely in here!
You are not alone.
I was thinking whatever placing an ask at 10$ or not. Is a btc worth 10$? With all this shitstorm?
LOL.
2539  Other / Meta / Re: BOOKMARK THIS SITE AS https://109.201.133.65, DOMAIN WAS TRANSFERRED on: May 03, 2013, 10:43:44 AM
its possible to transfer the domain with a hack ?
if you hack into his registrar account, yes... Also, i don't know for how long, but there is a period of time (1 month i think) during the which the domain can't be transferred another time. Or maybe you can only transfer it back to the previous owner, i'm not sure.
2540  Other / Meta / Re: BOOKMARK THIS SITE AS https://109.201.133.65, DOMAIN WAS TRANSFERRED on: May 03, 2013, 10:40:50 AM
Domains get hacked often. The problem is if someone hacked the domain registrar account and transferred the domain away, it may be a bit of work to get it back. It's 7pm on a Friday in Japan, 3am in the US. It will take time through the  Transfer Dispute Resolution Protocol if the receiving domain doesn't immediately hand it back on the word of registrar #1.
Just convince theymos to use my domains... I offer them for free for 2 months at least and my goal is not to earn money, but rather to have a better community... Also, i would feel uber cool for the rest of the week.
