2541  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: December 30, 2021, 12:52:45 PM
I don't want to see it as high volatility. But what I am seeing  now is that whenever bitcoin dips it use to recover so quickly than before. This means that as many people are selling. Many people are seeing it as buy opportunity.
Even if we cannot predict the future but with my small experience in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is still in early stage. Bitcoin will always recover and bitcoin will be still strong in the next 50 years.
2542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin scalability problem solve now? on: December 30, 2021, 12:10:24 PM
From Ln to sig wit to taproot.  Can we say that bitcoin scalability problem is solve
The scalability problem isn't solved. It'd only be solved if there were no fees and the chain could weight us all for free. It's just blunted.

is bitcoin TPS officially more than 7 now.
Depends on which transactions you're talking about. Those that happen off-chain or on-chain? The former are obviously much more than just 7. Theoretically, as of November 2021, it can handle up to 40 million TPS. As for the latter, it depends on the median transaction size. Note that 7 TPS was the maximum. I suspect it hasn't changed much with Taproot.
Ok. Which means the scalability problem will not be solve for ever.
Also I mean the one that happens on chain. The ones that happens off chain are not suppose to be counted in my opinion so.

He did this by separating the bitcoin signature data from transaction data.
Wrong. Signatures are still very much part of each transaction and are included in each block.
Quote from: Binance Academy
The term SegWit stands for “Segregated Witness”. SegWit is an improvement over the current bitcoin blockchain which reduces the size needed to store transactions in a block and it is implemented as a soft fork on the Bitcoin network. By separating the transaction signatures from bitcoin transactions, it allows more transactions to fit within one block. This will result in smooth and rapid Bitcoin transactions.
Please explain this well for me.
2543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Debunking the "Bitcoin is an environmental disaster" argument. on: December 30, 2021, 12:03:11 PM
This is a very good topic. I have bin reading the replies since and all of them are great. But I did not read all the reply in this topic. The person that start this topic try so much to analyse the arguments and the defence.
After I know how much energy bitcoin consume I begin to research why the amount is high. I understand that why the energy is high is not because of number of transaction. It is for security of bitcoin network.
Since then I check what order cryptocurrencies use to secure thier own network. Then I understand this two things.
PoW and PoS
Bitcoin which is using PoW was good from the beginning when only Satoshi and his team were mining in one room. But I think Satoshi did not know that Bitcoin will grow so big within short time.
I begin to think that all the miners using higher computer struggling to solve one and the same problem that can only be solve by one person at a time is waste of energy. I was not sure until I saw it where one person say it on internet.
I know the bitcoin network is now so big to change the whole protocol. But I saw another solution that was said by FORBES ADVISOR But what I don't know is weather the solution will work because bitcoin is not mined in one country alone.
Quote from: Forbes Advisor
Introduce Carbon Credits or Fees

Carbon credits represent the government-sanctioned ability for a company to emit a certain amount of carbon emission into the environment. They’re often securitized, meaning they can be traded to by companies that don’t need to produce a lot of emissions to other companies that do. This incentivizes a company to produce less than its allotment—as well as penalizes those that go over. In the case of a crypto mining company, this might mean it purchases carbon credits from another company to help offset the amount of emissions it creates or switches to greener energy so it can earn a profit from selling its credits.

“These are a tried-and-true method under a variety of programs like the Clean Air Act to get to net-zero emissions for products,” says Scott Janoe, Chairman of Environmental, Safety, and Incident Response Section at Baker Botts. “So I would see a move toward stapling credit products to Bitcoin mining and transactions to offset those emissions.”

Brody similarly foresees consumers being able to pay to offset their crypto emissions. “I anticipate a future where it will be possible to simultaneously pay a transaction processing fee on networks like Ethereum as well as a carbon-offset fee, just as you have the option when traveling by air,” he says.

2544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / is bitcoin scalability problem solve now? on: December 30, 2021, 10:30:10 AM
In 2017 there was the last civil war in bitcoin. This civil war gave rise to the hard fork to whom that gave birth to bitcoin cash. The reason for the war is because of bitcoin scalability. One part of the network wanted the fork that will make bitcoin have upto 200 and above TPS. But the order part of the network believe that if the change is apply it will lead to centralization of bitcoin. The result is bitcoin cash from bitcoin.

Some week after the civil war. Pieter Wuille came out with segregated witness. But this one is soft fork. What seg wit did is to technically increase 1mb size of bitcoin block to 4mb. He did this by separating the bitcoin signature data from transaction data. So that there we be more space in the block to accept more transaction. The reason for this soft fork is to solve the scalability too.

Lightening network has be there before the 2017 war. But is adopting slowly. The Lightening network use second layer bitcoin protocol to process transaction fast and small transaction fees. This one is design to happen not on the blockchain but will be add to the blockchain after transaction. The reason for this too is to solve the scalability.

On november this year. Important update was made in bitcoin protocol call taproot upgrade. This is design to aggregate the different signatures in one single batch and validate. This help to increase the number of transaction to be made on bitcoin network. This is brought to solve bitcoin scalability problem too.

My question
  • From Ln to sig wit to taproot.  Can we say that bitcoin scalability problem is solve
  • is bitcoin TPS officially more than 7 now.

Liverpool will miss Salah and Mane. Even Keita.
For people that will win the tournament. From the top stars to watch you will discover that Ivory Coast, Senegal, Nigeria and the host Cameroon has good squad.
In the poll Cameroon is suppose to be there.

2547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: what is data size of a transaction? on: December 22, 2021, 12:24:46 PM
If the mempool full or congested and miners start to add the transaction with high transaction fee. What will happens to the transaction with very low transaction fees if the ones with high transaction keep coming into the mempool after each one get confirm.
Will the ones with low fee need to wait until anytime or anyday the mempool will become empty. What of If the mempool stay very long without bin empty.
You weren't using Bitcoin in Dec 2017/Jan 2018 were you? Or indeed, for the first 4-5 months of this year? Huh
No. I started using bitcoin 2020. I am not good in following trend. But now I love bitcoin so much and I want to know the technical.
2548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BBCODES AND HTML (similarities and differences||questions) on: December 21, 2021, 09:42:21 PM
I don’t want some of the link I click to make me leave the forum, but all the link always take me out of the forum by not opening in a new tab. Any help?
Just use the "scroll wheel/middle button" instead... There was a security issue, so theymos had to remove or rather, alter its behavior: Links no longer open in a new window/tab
Thank you very much.

It's true that neither HTML nor BBCode are programming languages. A programming language tells the computer what to do. HTML and BBCode just add tags to text, to aid in formatting.
This is true. Thank you for confirming it.

. If you have a really old mouse that doesn't have that middle wheel or you are using your laptops touchpad, right-clicking on the link and clicking on "open link in new tab" achieves the same results.
Thank you for more solution.
2549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the fundamental goal of bitcoin on: December 18, 2021, 12:19:08 AM
[...]
Since we are talking about a rather abstract topic, let me deviate a little. I see that the total number of transactions in the BTC blockchain is less than in BSV, so I have a question. First, how did it come about that BSV overtook BTC in terms of the total number of transactions in such a short time? (If we take a fork as a starting point). Second, could bots be involved in this? Since the daily volume of transactions in SV also exceeds the volume of transactions of BTC by 3.5 times
There are no bots. BSV with a higher transaction throughput is out to show that bitcoin is scalable. And is doing it in a short time
2550  Other / Beginners & Help / BBCODES AND HTML (similarities and differences||questions) on: December 17, 2021, 09:17:41 PM

After seeing Bbcodes in this forum. I compare it to HTML and need to know why HTML is not use here even when is more organize.
I went through many of this links below to read the Bbcodes use in this forum
Quote
I enjoy the codes because it can make somebody creative and make article of someone to look nice or organize.
What I have been doing is to use the idea of HTML that I know to be trying in the forum and I was surprise that most of HTML work here.
I will write some similarities and differences that I notice.

Similarities
A.   Both Bbcodes and HTML are not programming language

B.   Both can maintain a style from outside software like ms word: if I type some text in ms word or notepad and want it to occur in this forum like that I will use this.
Code:
 [pre]the text style[/pre]
. I can use this style to make a table instead of using
Code:
[table], [tr], [td]

Quality     Bitcoin     Fiat
Centralized     No     Yes
Currency        Yes     Yes
Privacy         Yes     No

C.   When open a url if you don’t want to or you don’t want to leave the site: in HTML the link will open in the current tab, but if you want it to open in different tab you put
Code:
target=_blank in the opening of [a] tag
but in Bbcodes is assume the url will open new tab but if you want it to open in your current tab
Code:
[iurl]httpss://google.com[/iurl]
. But iurl is not working here. I don’t want some of the link I click to make me leave the forum, but all the link always take me out of the forum by not opening in a new tab. Any help?

D.   Both of them has two types of tag. The opening tag - [tag] and the closing tag - [/tag]: If you forget to close the tag, the code will not work or it will spoil your other work.

E.   Both of them have some self-closing tag: like for Bbcodes we have
Code:
[hr] to rule line horinzontal, [btc] to show bitcoin logo
and for of HTML we have
Code:
[hr] = horizontal line, [br] = Line break, [img]=Image

Differences
A.   HTML can be understand  by browser but browser will not understand Bbcodes unless the ones that match with HTML
B.   HTML is used to build website but Bbcodes is use in different forum which mean I can create my own Bbcodes if I have my own forum.
C.   Bbcodes is somehow simple than HTML
D.   In Bbcodes they forget very important thing in Table. that is table head (th). I saw some people that use to bold the first colon of table data (td) to formulate there table head (th)

Why does the forum use Bbcodes instead of HTML?

  • Because Bbcodes is simple than than HTML
  • So that the forum will not be attack.
my question
How will the forum be attack?
Because with both Bbcodes and HTML? someone can share link.
Too if someone use a strong HTML? parser will there still be risk?

2551  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Basic Of Escrow System; Q&A by Satoshi on: December 17, 2021, 07:03:34 PM
SATOSHI SOLVE A PROBLEM AND LEFT A PROBLEM.
Satoshi say that bitcoin will make a buyer not cheat a seller. If I buy from you and pay you digital money. You will be sure that the money will not reverse back to me. This is a problem bitcoin solve. Traditional institution did not solve it. They need 3rd party.
Satoshi said for seller not to cheat buyer a escrow should be used. Which is to trust a third party. This is a problem to bitcoin decentralization.
Let us get to work and find solution better than escrow.
2552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the fundamental goal of bitcoin on: December 17, 2021, 08:33:55 AM
but it fiat won't go away because humanity loves centralization of power even if they say otherwise. But we need that alternative to still be able to take some of that power back whenever we want.
This is great reasoning from you. I like this. This is how human beings are.

(Why should we be forced to use only one option that are backed by corrupt practices?)
Very good reasoning. Forcing everyone to use only one bitcoin is a high level of centralization by itself.
2553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can I get my address back? on: December 16, 2021, 08:54:44 PM
Question Y: is like personal problem.
You don't have to reveal any of your personal details, though. Just to explain us what's going on and we'll give you our best shot; you may get an answer that satisfies as a solution to your problem.
I did not mean that the question is personal to me that I will not release it. Maybe is because I do not use the english well that you did not understand me.
I have got why I ask question. You guys are genius. Thank u.

A good investor will make profit more than a bad trader.

2555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the fundamental goal of bitcoin on: December 16, 2021, 08:38:45 PM
But really, you can easily read the whitepaper. It's only 8 pages, very concise and not too technical.
I have read this carefully again. Thank you

Quote from: Satoshi Nakamoto
Abstract. A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online
payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a
financial institution. Digital signatures provide part of the solution, but the main
benefits are lost if a trusted third party is still required to prevent double-spending.
From Satoshi Nakamoto statement "without going through a financial institution " show that bitcoin fundamental goal is best describe as alternative to traditional financial institutions.
I am wrong?
2556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is the fundamental goal of bitcoin on: December 16, 2021, 12:56:39 PM
I have see in my research in many place that fundamental goal of bitcoin is to replace traditional currencies.

I am asking what is the fundamental goal of bitcoin. Is it
  • to replace traditional currencies
  • to provide alternative to traditional currencies
  • to provide freedom to everyone on how to use money

If number one is truth. There means bitcoin is deserving the fight is getting from government. Because nobody will fold hand for another person to replace him.
But if number two and three is truth. There means Bitcoin not deserve the fight is getting from government.
2557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will taproot upgrade kill coin mixing? on: December 11, 2021, 07:07:07 PM
Before now bitcoin is using ECDSA. Now is that taproot upgrade has bring to us schnorr signatures. This schnorr signatures now allow signature aggregation. So that signature of every signer in the network will be combine to single signature. This will make observer not to know single transaction and multi-sig transaction and who sign and who did not sign.

My question
Since we have seen this upgrade that is better privacy. If developers work hard and continue to improve the taproot upgrade. In the next four years or so do you think that technically is possible that bitcoin privacy problem will solve and coin mixing companys will not be needed again.

Please what is XY problem?
o_e_l_e_o meant that, instead of answering question X, we should answer the question Y.

Question X: How to see previous addresses?
Question Y: Why do you want to see the previous addresses again?

Anyway, as already stated, previous addresses are still valid and the problem seems to be solved now.
Ok. Thank you very much for explaining to me.
Question X: is like general problem.
Question Y: is like personal problem.
2559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can I get my address back? on: December 11, 2021, 01:50:40 PM
Thank you charlestim , findingnemo , hosseinimr93 and everybody. Is clear to me now on how it work and why I should not worry myself to have my address back.

As others have mentioned above, addresses do not expire, disappear, or anything similar, so if you've handed that address out to someone to receive some coins which you have not yet received before you generated a new address, then you will still receive those coins even if you are no longer seeing the correct address. You also do not need to worry about skipping that address if you never receive those coins, or handing out a subsequent address which you are still waiting for those coins. You can leave all the addresses you've generated empty and just use the next one without any issue.
This why I need it but am relax now. Thank you.

  • I will not give anybody my work to correct me
  • I will download grammarly application
The people here will not care too much for grammar. If I can write what people will read and understand. Little by little everything will be fine with me. Am happy everyone.
