2581  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Open API to request Bitcoin blockchain data? on: February 28, 2017, 09:46:35 PM
or maybe you found some open source web wallets with built-in API ?
Is there a thing called "Open Source Web Wallets" ? Welp! I need to look that up son!
Would really help figure out transparency behind the wallet. Most of the online wallets do provide built in API's but with limited access and cross verification of the tokens.I'd rather write my own API instead of begging them to provide me unlimited requests per minute.
2582  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: New scammer is here name TXminer2011 on: February 28, 2017, 09:24:44 PM
Why would you look for ways to get scammed ? Mate, you should just stop dealing with newbies if you know they're going to create problems. No one really has time to tag every newbie account that you deal with and if they turn out to be a scammer.

Yes I also spotted another scammer and sent info to realiable members who don't care.
Why should they care ? lol They're paid on salary basis to tag obvious scammers ? No.
2583  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sportsbet.io Scam Accusation on: February 28, 2017, 09:20:03 PM
There you go! Finally, their scams are unfolding slowly. It was only me and TwitchySeal who were bragging about this website run by scammers since day1.You don't expect much from them.Unfortunately, forum has lot of idiots who'd buy anything that is wrapped as a gift.

They are even confused about their very own terms and conditions when it comes to these promotions.
Best to not use them any longer as a reliable and trusted book.
Exactly! Don't understand why in the world would anyone want to use any sportsbook apart from DirectBet.They're much reliable.
P.S. : Wait for another exit scam from Cloudbet in the progress.

OP,have you posted the same in their main thread ? Don't worry, they will refund you and additionally 100 mbtc for being their sock puppets.
2584  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] Do you have signatures enabled? on: February 27, 2017, 07:57:02 PM
Signatures reward posters for activity. Increased activity helps the board revenues. I suspect this is what was meant in an earlier post. There is a counter argument that sig spamming reduces the quality of the board, and this means that ad impressions are less valuable.
No,signatures and forum advertisements are two completely different things.Users carrying signatures doesn't contribute to the forum financially while the paid adds on the forum, out side of your signature space does help pay for forum's services. But yeah if you look at it,
Signatures -> Gets more people on the forum ->Interests advertisers to market their products on the forum.
2585  Economy / Services / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDare.com - Users dare you to make videos for BTC on: February 27, 2017, 07:48:52 PM
Nice concept, you could have take to the next level but the entire website design and marketing strategy kinda sucks. You know, this shit could have been fiver for bitcoins.Do you have enough devs to work on the project ?
I might be interested.

“Make a sexy dance in a crowded place, wearing a swimsuit with "BitcoinDare.com" written on your chest!
I can simply take a video of a rave party with a dude in swimsuit and edit your site's name over his Chest.Do you have any verification methods?
2586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Bitcoin Casino 'Scams' to Look Out For? on: February 27, 2017, 07:44:13 PM
What are some of the scams in bitcoin casinos to look out for? Whether they will allow us to easily withdraw the funds, whether there are exorbitant fees and whether the casino games are fair and random? What else should we be vigilant about?
Let's start by the severity of the scams. (List sorted in order)
1.Betcoin.ag
2.bitcasino.io
3.veascasino.io
4.cloudbet [scam-in-progress]
5.Fortunejack [takes light years to reply or process withdrawals]

You can either surrender on these sites or watch yourself die slowly by losing your patience for the support to reply.
2587  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: February 27, 2017, 07:38:02 PM
What is the hosting plan that you are using to run your website? Is increasing the stats of the host will make things faster or that's totally up to the algorithm you are using?
That depends on the programmer to utilize the resources. However don't think hosting plans can do much but the algorithms!Since the program is is on GitHub and if you're really curious, don't hesitate taking the code and finding out the time/space complexity using one of the algorithm analysis techniques (Asymptotic Notations).
2588  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Online Courses for Blockchain tech on: February 27, 2017, 06:31:03 PM
The search for an academic approach to Blockchain continues. I have linked to some of the study materials I found interesting.
Are those free of cost ? Do you think you will be practically able to implement whatever you learn in the books ?I don't think so.You might want to start with reading about Cryptography and implementing a few algos to see how things work.Once your basics about encryption techniques and network protocols are solid, you can directly start learning the bitcoin protocol. On your journey, you will learn the blockchain as well.
What I'm really implying is don't waste too much time getting knowledge, start implementing it from day 1.

Beware, there are other books that are simply lifting projects off Git & flipping through concepts without delving deep. Avoid such books.
Exactly.Instead one can enjoy checking the code for a few open source projects on github.
2589  Economy / Services / Re: Root my Phone - Oukitel on: February 27, 2017, 06:15:01 PM
Greetings to you my long lost friend. If the job hasn't completed yet,you know who to look for Wink

How would be rooting done though ? Through skype ?You don't need to pay, shoot me a Pm.I will guide you through it.
2590  Other / Archival / Re: European web dev [good prices] on: February 27, 2017, 06:11:39 PM
I may have a few jobs for you if you're well versed with ReactJs,Redux and Single Page Stateless Applications.I don't want to see your previous projects for proof,if you have a history of contributing to a few open source projects on GitHub and a stackoverflow profile,do shoot me a pm back with the respective links.
2591  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the requirements to be "Escrow"? on: February 27, 2017, 05:52:33 PM
I see people working as "Escrow" in the forum. These people work like a kind of brokerage house in their bitcoin payments. And they get commission from the transactions made. I know that reliability is very important for this.
Not only reliability, your trust and reputation do counts.Basically, you should be known enough for carrying out high volume trades with members on the forum. You may disregard that and still offer your services but who'd you think will use you for an escrow when they better options around ?

But who gives the title "Escrow"? Is there anyone authorized for this job?
You give yourself that title when you're confident about people not having problems with it.Like start a thread offering escrow services and you shall know what I'm talking about.
2592  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is coinbase down or is it just me? on: February 26, 2017, 08:04:48 PM
I like how you'll freak out when a website with all your coins just goes down any minute.Imagine, what if they actually go down and never come back again ? Be smart, stop using third party online wallets.Doesn't take a genius to install a desktop wallet. No one knows the technical vulnerabilities of tomorrow, only precautions will help us stay away from the crashes.
2593  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CLOUDBET IS SCAM! NOT PAYING FOR WINNING BETS! SCAM! on: February 26, 2017, 08:01:12 PM
This is a very good and recommendable idea to record your screen and have proofs available. I think most players are too unconcerned!
I'd recommend not playing on the site anymore when they have like 10 scam accusations against them lying unresolved. It's time I guess, where are all the gambling bloggers ? Word should spread out, stop using that shady site.
2594  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Re: Re: The Force Within - Selling defaulted acco on: February 26, 2017, 07:30:03 PM
Here is the thing. We could be using our main accounts, but it would severely reduce the quality of the accounts, as they could be easily tracked. As account trading is also seen with a pretty bad light, it could affect our reputation.
So you mean to say you're afraid of losing your reputation and hence you're scared to post from your original accounts ? Doesn't make you any better as an individual. Why continue account trading if you know it's not endorsed by the forum ?

The accounts are not farmed and if you buy an account, you will see proof that every account have a defaulted loan. Every account got a signed message included from the lender and original account owner.
I'm only concerned about the fact the "accounts are being sold" which could be used for pulling out severe scams and that may cost people out of their hard earned money. Also I think I know who you are..

No, Theymos would never do that. He would see why it is a stupid idea, as people would be losing their accounts, just because they forgot about Bitcoin for 6 months.
I'd modify it a bit,if someone still wishes to activate that account again, they could just message theymos about the ownership of the account.

Think I'm lying? I want to bet 0.1 BTC that he would respect every account, even the inactive ones. Find an escrow, I pay the fee. We will announce the bet publicly and request Theymos's answer. If he doesn't bring his opinion, we do it by popular vote.
Blah blah Blah..Keep those 0.10 made out of farming accounts to yourself.I'm least interested in betting with someone who is not audacious enough to talk from his main account.Grow a pair, dude.

Ok, don't dare to do it? How about you talk nicely to everyone and respect them.
Not respecting the alt account scum of the forum. Also, fuck you, since you asked me to be nice.
2595  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] Do you have signatures enabled? on: February 26, 2017, 07:01:12 PM
A lot of people have advertisements in their signatures that can be annoying to look at.
How ? The signatures are actually good in a way to stay updated with the latest happenings in the bitcoin world.I tend to open signatures with catchy quotes.

The forum has an option to "Don't show users' signatures." Do you have signatures enabled?
I think this is poll will have interesting results.  Smiley
You can disable signatures here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=theme  Cheesy
Thanks for enlightening me but I'm okay with the default settings.I'm sure everyone posting below would have signatures enabled Tongue
2596  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A hotel booking site that accepts bitcoin on: February 26, 2017, 06:17:26 PM
how are you gonna handle cancelations? sounds pretty problematic to me
Doesn't sound so problematic. They can just send the bitcoins back to the same address where they came from ?Infact, this seems like a much better option than sending the money back to other digital wallets or bank accounts.Bitcoin wins over everything.
2597  Other / Meta / Re: Separate online list for staff on: February 26, 2017, 01:34:46 PM
I'm afraid that enabling this will just make the spammy bots smarter, they could somehow check If the moderators are online or not and start doing their thing once they know they no one can stop for a certain period of time.
Fortunately, some or the other mod is always online.I'm sure the job has been divided into separate time zones. So there a mod online at every hour on bitcointalk.I might be wrong though.

It's also possible to hide your online status in your account settings too so If those can't work together, I don't see the point.
That just hides the green box besides your profile. But you can easily make out if the person is online or not by opening their profile page.

We are preparing to add various payment methods such as PayPal, Apple Wallet, Android Pay, Google wallet etc. I would love to add Bitcoin to that list, but as I am sure you can imagine, I expect my colleagues to have the typical (and very annoying) "Is bitcoin not illegal and used for drugs and guns?"
Tell them, before bitcoins came into existence, people still bought guns and drugs off the internet using other forum of money.Bitcoins just made it simple.

I can explain to my colleagues how that it's not true, but they only have to point out that I can't explain it to all our our potential customers, and thus we should not add bitcoin, as it may be perceived poorly.
Let the customers pay using the normal payment methods.Keep Bitcoins as an option. If someone who understands bitcoins as much as you do,they'll be glad to book stuff from your site using bitcoins. And they will definitely pass the word around.

However, if I could counter that, with a promise (however vague) of a new potential client-base, as there might be lots of good bitcoin people, that would love to help make a positive change in the world, at no extra cost.
Exactly! In terms of coding and maintenance, bitcoins needs the least attention.

If anyone has any input on how accepting bitcoin could help attract additional business, as well as any other input, it would be greatly appreciated.
Bitcoin is just another way of accepting payments. It wouldn't grow your customer base as such but keep the potential customers hooked on to the site.A bitcoiner will always book a hotel from your site with his bitcoins if he knows you're the only company doing it.By doing so,you'd not only expand your tech but also give a good name to the bitcoin world.
2599  Other / Meta / Re: Separate online list for staff on: February 26, 2017, 01:11:51 PM
I have seen it on almost all forum that they have a separate list on homepage for staff members who are currently online for members to reach them easily in case they need any help.
Can we have similar separate list for online staff members here also?
Why would you want to reach staff members for any help if you can just use the "report to moderator button" ?
Apart from that, everything else is pretty much discussed openly in the stickies or the meta section.
If you have any particular forum related queries, you can open a thread about it in Meta.
If you still want to talk to a staff member, drop them a message by checking their last online status ?

Btw,there is a link to check members online : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=who

2600  Economy / Services / Re: BitDice Casino Signature Campaign [WILL START 1 DECEMBER] on: February 25, 2017, 08:05:14 AM
If the budged is in question, I would suggest you to just modify rates a bit. It is for sure better to keep participants already enrolled, then try to change them. Bitcoin price increased in last 3 months. So I think rates could decrease to support the budged even while have only few Full members.
So nice of you to be self centered. How about just cut the Legendary members from the campaign and allow a couple of more full members instead of hiring a single legendary ? That way, they won't have to reduce to budget and would get 2 times more posts than from a single legendary member.

Full Members - 0.027 BTC per week
Senior Members - 0.032 BTC per week
Hero - 0.038BTC  per week
Legendary Members - 0.042BTC  per week
Why should we consider prices in $$ when this forum and website strictly deals with bitcoins ?

When people leave recruit only Full members.
Nah,throw the legendarily out and keep full members only.

Some might not agree and might go elsewhere, what would give you more place for Full members. And because of this reason I also suggest that new rates are announced as soon as possible and count for week.14 that will start next week.
The case is not the same when people don't farm with 100 other accounts like you do.It's clear that you sound very self centered without thinking of other ranks.

@Boxxob : Please update the payment status ?
