2581  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 22, 2023, 05:57:13 PM
I'm in two minds about all this talk of side-hustling, increasingly popular after Covid.

Yes, improves financial stability for the short and even medium term, but it usually involves some kind of enterprise that to me isn't sustainable without further investment into "upskilling"... and that takes away the focus from an existing career that, if spent time on, becomes the route to financial stability (provided it is a career you actually believe in and are interested in).

How about Bitcoin earning and DCA as a truly passive "side job"?

Damn, I should stop giving advice to rivals. Ferguson with a goal and one bonus point in the short time he was on the pitch, while Grenwood will probably not play more then few minutes for the Leeds all the way to season end.

Kepa with another nice haul, one of my better decisions to go with him after the restart. Every time he keeps a clean sheet he also gets bonus points, stuff like that compounds nicely over long period of time.

Haha, thanks and keep it coming! Rivals like me are fine, I'm nowhere near any kind of position to threaten anyone. But yeah, Greenwood only got in at 88th minute, so I got it wrong on that gamble, and a nice goal for Ferguson.

Should still have captained Haaland, he did get vice, so I guess my changes anyway brought me up a tick but there's very little skin left for me in FPL.

All this practice for when I finally get this exercise more of a habit Wink

Re the specials: City one hit way too easily, damned Wolves.

Next ones? The way this match is going to go, either a few of those specials will hit, or none at all...

Over 3.5 and 7 corners each is pretty out there, but not impossible if we see BTTS in first half, but United don't rack up the corners anymore with their counters I feel, so I think they'll fall short on those.

If I had any money I'd back Saka to score in first 10 minutes and on Fred sending off.

Tempting to think this will be a classic United/Arsenal encounter but if anything, it's the Gunners who are prone to red cards these days...
2584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: January 22, 2023, 02:55:30 PM
Damn you, Sampdoria. Initially thought the draw was smart, then switched allegiance to the home team, not that I'd have gotten points either way  -- winless in 5 games but still in 7th place now (thanks Juventus). Wonder if I need to start taking them a bit more seriously now?

Still messing about with my Atalanta prediction. SO tempting to back Juve to go win every game from now on after their drama but odds on Atalanta are just. so. tasty.
2585  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: January 22, 2023, 01:30:12 PM
It was boring day of draws is Premier League with four matches ending up like that, but with Leicester vs Brighton we saw four goals and some excitement.
I expected Newcastle to win but they continue with low scoring matches, so my strategy for them will be betting on under 2.5 goals in future.
Any predictions for three matches scheduled for tomorrow?

Yeah, Almiron's drying up and they were last saved by Isak, would have backed them to score anyway in all games if they continue to play the way they've been when I could catch their games, but haven't watched them for a while now.

Saints rooted to the bottom so it looks pretty dire, but at least there are plenty more games to play and points to bag. League cup glory?

No further bets for me today, just the Arsenal special (win + over 7.5 corners). Also Wolves bet from a long time ago, was 14/1 but that was before they lost to United and clambered out of the hole with Spurs, so looks good at 12/1 now.
2586  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin recent boom tracing back to Mt Gox + FTX/celsius/terra on: January 22, 2023, 12:56:11 PM
It wasn't so much how dangerous stablecoins were -- algo or not -- to me, rather than the fact that all that value was built up on imaginary funds, plus the practice of unlimited money generation from staking (vapour making vapour).

And behind all that lies the only utility: speculation. Which we should have learnt by now isn't sustainable.
2587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Each time you see a red candle! on: January 22, 2023, 11:50:34 AM
Usually, a decline will be interpreted as a red candle, and an increase will be interpreted as a green candle. You can replace the red and green colors with other colors you like. And if you don't do something by the time the red candle comes up, which means there is a price decline, you may miss out on buying at that low. The price movement must also be seen based on the indicators you use. If it decreases, a red candle will appear. If it rises, a green candle will appear.

Hmm, not sure we're on the same page. You interpret candles, candles form on strict conditions -- it's what you do with them and how you think the next action will be lies the interpretation.

And far as I know, candlesticks are indicators themselves, suggesting future patterns and confirmed by subsequent candles -- you don't jump ahead of the first main candle Wink
2588  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Mini bull run or short Squeeze (manipulation) ? on: January 22, 2023, 11:19:35 AM
Yeah, don't get caught up in the news (which is all after the fact, really) and don't get caught up in predictions. As pointed out above, people were gunning for 100k 5 years ago (not to mention the prophets of 1 million dollar Bitcoin). That might seem like a certainty in next ATH (I certainly think so) but we'll probably hear about 500k and more in the run up. Don't buy any of it.

This isn't manipulation, to me. It's just a return to the mean. We'll probably suffer a lot more before proper confidence pushes price back to actual value.

Just checking in to see the vibe here and seems like the betting options get a lot of love these days, despite the terrible odds haha (sorry!). Get that you can't find many other price predictions but sports wise, losing a lot on value.

Anyway, popped myself 5k lottery tix today on a WoF. More than I would ever get on wager. Be nice to snag something here as my sports betting is very unhealthy now!

Always knew we were going to say goodbye to a lot of players and seeds well before QFs (sorry for making a pointless point) but I did not think to see Tsitsipas still alive this late. One of the guys I used to bank on a lot, to great disappointment, and finally having given him up, if he goes on to take AO I will crack lips smiling.

P.S. He's only still in second set after taking the first but on the way Sinner's not able to convert enough breaks, I think this is over.

2591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2022/2023 on: January 21, 2023, 08:14:35 PM
@buwaytress really amazing stuff from your side about these 3 team's parlay I was feeling positive but sadly Watford kill this all with conceding one goal early and unable to go anything in reply.

Right now Just Watford is the concern about acca which is having small amount, but reward is big all others are doing perfectly even I was feeling Stoke will be not able to perform perfectly they are also leading by 1 - 0 at the end of first half hopefully things could be positive in second half for these all teams.

Luton and Stoke both are leading and Watford are trailing with most chances, they will be to fight back in style.

Yeah killed me anyway because Liverpool was on my ticket, so it looks like another sad day for me, to compound several sad weeks in a row. I actually do decent because of upsets over the long run, but I'm wiping out my profits by putting Liverpool on almost every acca I have.

PNE did themselves another favour once more keeping in tune with my feeling that this league is for martingaling on a team with odds above 2/1. Stick with Blades HT win for a bit, it's good value, but don't take my word for it.

^^^Thank icopress and Betnomi, I'm just helping along Wink

Honestly, at this low point in Liverpool's season, I'm really looking forward to UCL. We get to meet Real, hopefully who maintain their freakish form, and we reset the season from there. We're over 10 points behind UCL spots, I'm sure we'll still get 4th, we know how, but it would be amazing to just win this trophy to make up for this deep disappointment.

Slightly out of topic but did anyone notice Betnomi has 2026 World Cup outright odds out? First thing that greets me on their Sports page haha.
2593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 21, 2023, 04:38:52 PM
Someone remind me never to put money on Freiburg again this season, please. At least not after Bayern drop points. 4 point gap became 5, throw away the game in hand, won't you?

Well, it's not for nothing, but I think that Bayern is the only and safe candidate to win in the Budesliga, ~

I'm still going to bet against them every time odds are 10/1 and above (yesterday only 3/1 so that was dumb). They'll win, no doubt. Just only because every other pretender to the throne is incapable of capitalising on Bayern's inconsistency.

Man, what a match day. First goal in all the games finally on 28th minute, and it comes of course not from Chelsea, not from Liverpool, not from a star but from Mitoma, assist from Mac Allister -- both who had great World Cup games and taking their form into the league.

Already sitting on multiple losses thanks to Liverpool not finding the net, so all hopes now on Arsenal tomorrow. Oh and maybe a Saints win today too? Playing the counter against Emery doesn't usually work but they only need 1 goal...
2595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: January 21, 2023, 01:45:49 PM
will be interesting to see that, what will happen - Juventus to keep clean sheet, or Atalanta to play their offensive
not looking too much on Serie A, I am still stuck with Trofo's Juventus is playing as in 1:0 series, and Napoli is a glitch, so I am voting for clean sheet

is there a particular reason for Lazio to play on Tuesday?

I've backed Atalanta, just surprised they're not having better odds given the form of both teams. Juve will probably still take a 1:0 win though, but I'm happy to gamble on the result. No idea about Lazio, not following news...

Did you hear guys, still not confirmed, but I am hearing Juve is getting 15 points deduction due to financial shenanigans. Can't be too sorry for them, hopefully this will be more than enough for Napoli to win Serie A.

Milan clubs do not look like they have it what it takes to go the distance.

Hah! I knew something was coming out of the World Cup season investigations. Not sorry to hear too -- not like they were fighting for the title neither for the way they're playing nor their tactical mastery. Seems like the people in charge over there don't like learning their lessons.

My captain is Salah this week, vice is Haaland. We need to win this game in a big way to give ourselves a boost... sentimental much?

You'd need a lot of VAR help to have a chance in this one; we're both shit at the moment, but you're not taking a point away from Chelsea today if the officiating isn't tempered as usual. You have only won 3/17 games against us at Anfield. Hahah. Grin

Back to your captaincy choice, it's a good idea because Salah is always looking for a way to score against us, so I wouldn't be surprised if he does, but Elliot is the only dangerous player on your team right now (dude is terrifying)

A VAR penalty call and Salah to convert you mean? Why not?

Elliot's what I call resolute, but no way near as terrifying as Nunez, Diaz, even on their off days =p And hey you watch out for Robbo (on my fantasy) and Thiago man, them two get crazy when they angry.

Why Greenwood? If you have just a bit more money in the bank take Ferguson. Ferguson has been putting some impressive performances for Brighton and while I expect him to loose his first team place now that Welbeck is back he will still play more than Greenwood. Welbeck is also one of those unfortunate players that will always have injury problems and if/when that happens Ferguson will be great option.

Took your advice then Wink Still had 0.6 in the bank and Ferguson only cost 0.4 more, wildcard still active so did that. Greenwood was really just thinking of Leeds' resurgence with Bamford and his play usually benefits Greenwood. But Ferguson probably wiser on the bench.

^ Damn I didn't see that Liverpool special, would definitely have put a bit on it, now am headed out and too late to make a deposit plus bet on the move. Had cleared my entire account out on bets on accas and then just finished off on the Arsenal special.

Liverpool to win isn't guaranteed by any means, but Salah scoring is probably something more likely, he loves a big game.

Why the hate? We seem happy enough when a Tweet seems to bring Bitcoin up. Shouldn't we pay our dues when the opposite happens?

Bitcoin's intention isn't to shame, if anyone feels embarrassed or even humiliated it is by their own doing -- much like I sometimes feel the bile rising just reading my old posts heh.

P.S. What does it take to become a social media expert anyway?

@LFC_Bitcoin @slaman29

Yeah I'm pretty big on Liverpool too, for all our troubles this season, we're still somehow able to maintain some kind of spirit at home, and if there is good news, we've actually played our best football against tougher sides (is Chelski even a tough side anymore now though?).

Anyway. 22/10 is great odds at Anfield, we still have Salah!

Put it this way, I'm not confident enough to put any sort of money on it, but it would be typical Arsenal. Plus, United have sort of slide into that bogey team for everyone despite the form they are in. I mean, we had a ton of trouble with them, despite them not evening reaching their best performances of the season yet. That has a lot to do with how Liverpool set up, and the injuries obviously.

That it would be. I was the first to say they're just going to crumble, but happy to have been proven wrong (so far). Arsenal have been anything but the Arsenal I've known for the past decade though.

I won't be too upset by any outcome though... worst-case scenario for me personally is United actually going on to win the title but they are in no shape for that with 17 games to fight left.

Made wholesale changes to my team now using my wildcard to save 36 penalty points heh... So Salah back in, Greenwood to offset costs, and Robbo keeps his place but I'm just going to try gain points today and won't mind taking penalties to clean out the team again.

My captain is Salah this week, vice is Haaland. We need to win this game in a big way to give ourselves a boost... sentimental much?
