1721  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Leverage Liquidity Map: Shorts dominating leverage trading on: May 04, 2023, 04:53:09 PM
Yeah the 200 is really the only one left I pay attention to. People are still bearish even now, so yeah, 20k especially sub -- and it won't matter if it happens sooner or later, but this year -- will break a lot of resolve.

Well I guess it turned out $20K was the great buying opportunity all along, as a classic re-test of 200 Day MA after golden cross  Smiley

As for the liquidity map, since this topic was recently bumped, there's a clear gap up to $31K (as this is where price recently reached). Otherwise to the downside there is an increase in liquidity from around $23K with not a lot aorund $25K. Many people still expect $25K, even $26K, to act as support if price corrects to the downside. But personally, based on liquidity and trading volume, I find $23K more likely.

So it turned out to be so indeed. Don't think we're quite so ready to wave farewell to that border, even if the hubbub on the news circles is that we're seeing the peak of USD interest and that means no further pressure -- but if we do revisit it will be short, followed by a beautiful bounce back to levels now.

Still decent buying levels now even with 23k support (which means today's price is "only" a 20+% premium)...

It is a shame West Ham didnt manage to hold on against Manchester City and they crumble in second half, but title fight is not over yet.

The script said so, and everyone played their part.

Am I asking for too much for Brighton vs Man Utd to be a draw tonight? I really don’t want to get my hopes up by top 4 is possible for LFC now. It’s still unlikely but it’s possible. We seem to have stumbled on a nice streak of form  but it’s probably too late.

It's not too much. Brighton deserve everything else, more than United or Liverpool, but of course, I'll be counting on them to do us the favour of making this race for fourth a little bit more hopeful.

While we're at it, Leeds to beat City on the weekend too?
1723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: May 04, 2023, 12:26:48 PM
Didn't foresee Jota coming on late, Nunez making a start, guess they really are trying to bring Diaz back into the game these days. I know players feel they still can qualify but I think Klopp's already written the season off, experimenting now. That's now 3 games in a row TAA is in midfield, really like him there and I think that might force me to switch Robbo out for him as we close the season out.  Least it'll mean less punishment for not being able to keep clean sheets...

It's that go-against City time again and it's pretty much just hoping for them to stumble just one more time for a big win. Fulham's also a good bet today but Liverpool are resurgent now. Time to bet against form?

Ok, yeah I just read about these BRC-20 thingies. A fungible token... who would have thought? haha. I'm even looking now at some of the prices for these ... text inscriptions... some are going for over 1 BTC, only buyable with taproot addresses. I was wondering when Electrum would support it but it's been a year and I've lost interest.

Who would have though this was going to be taproot's adoption, huh?

On another note, I failed to be patient yesterday and spent 151 sat/byte on my RBF... and that was even RBF'd up from 120 because it didn't confirm in 3 blocks.

Don't recall even spending more than 20 for years.
1726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 03, 2023, 04:16:04 PM
Disappointing season for my team LFC, but to have to try to keep winning and hope for a miracle like Newcastle or Man Utd to blow up.

5th is probably the best we can do but it’s better than ending up in that crap Conference League.

We play Fulham & Brentford in back to back home games this week. Here’s hoping for 6 points and a slip up by Newcastle or Man Utd.

Yeah, if we win this stretch of 5 games, I'll actually be happy even with Europa... honestly even with Conference (but we can't get worse than Europa if we win everything left huh).

Mainly because it will mean we actually can play and win with our fit squad (all the attackers, that is), and even with a creaking midfield (I say this being about 10 years older than them heh)... so it will hopefully mean even a less-than-desired upgrade (read as not Bellingham) could do wonders.

But next season I'll always worry, what if we get a couple of injuries again to our front?
1727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which YouTube channels and pages to follow for update on market news and TA? on: May 03, 2023, 12:31:34 PM
I really dislike how Youtube is already full of those "Reaction" face thumbnails. Worse, crypto-related channels seem to have an even higher proportion of those "open mouthed face" annoying videos.

Only problem is, sometimes these guys are the only ones with any info worth knowing that's easily Googleable. They know how to SEO themselves, I guess. So newcomers are led there. And many are actually put off, you know. Hurts Bitcoin (even if unfairly).

I know it's only half time but I can't see Chelsea clamber out of this hole. I had faith in Arsenal winning, just didn't realise it'd be 3 goals to them before half time.

Arsenal back on top, now Hammers just need to beat City tomorrow and it's game on, right?

Finally i can win with one of the freebets i have thanks to the pools sponsored by SB.

Well done! Looks like guys like you are getting better and better than I am at these longshot bets Wink
1732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Highest Record Bitcoin Transactions, What does this indicate? on: May 02, 2023, 03:36:06 PM
Came here from finding out how high fees are. Am actually surprised the old record stood for so long -- not going to check myself to verify but it does coincide with two events I remember somewhat -- the block size wars that saw full blocks and fee bloat, and then SegWit which made txs more space efficient. It's all full circle now (but I wonder what happened to Ordinals haha).
1733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [Apr 2023] Fees quite low! Use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs on: May 02, 2023, 02:21:09 PM
Wow, I hadn't needed to send Bitcoin out for a while and today took me by complete surprise. No way I would be paying the suggested 66 sats or so, so I thought, yeah, let me just send 1 sat/byte and see how long it takes. I can always RBF.

Then I saw a new icon I'd never seen before on Electrum next to my tx, clicked it and it told me mempool rejected my fee as there are hundreds of thousands of other txs with much higher fee (I'm not quoting, just paraphrasing from memory as I didn't take a screenshot).

RBF'd it. I did badly want to experiment with this non-urgent consolidation though...

P.S. Funnily enough, just this morning I was wondering what happened to ordinals, is that possibly part of the cause?

Checked DOTA Dream league and even with the patch, betting against the favourites were the wrong idea, so it's easy for me to add them again to the finals. Too tempting to just follow all the last semifinalists, or is that just the smart thing to do?

Questions are just so tricky, fine lines like the Serie A question (but I'm going with old personalities here) and Sociedad Real, that's really strange the home team is bookie fav, when has that ever happened recently? I'm thinking even if Ancelotti has ideas, his players won't. Benzema, Vini, they're hungry for personal records.

Then tennis, oh that's interesting Wink
1735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 02, 2023, 10:27:07 AM
I agree with you, if I had to pick any team to represent the English league in the UEFA Champions League, it would be Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea. I wouldn't want Brighton or Newcastle to be participating in that competition anytime soon, we don't want another Leicester and Tottenham CL story, I don't trust Arsenal or Manchester United either, but both clubs are likely to make it anyways then back to the Europa after few games. same story.

Yep, I didn't want to say it but Leicester proved what should have been known -- you need experience to win at that highest level, and you sort of have to earn your badge at Europa first. Spurs at least made it to the final and allowed us to win it heh. United, well, I feel like they're not really CL material, not with this team anyway, not since Fergie left.

another draw for Everton, and it seems that it is it for this season, four matches to go, home fixture with City, it will be hard to expect to avoid relegation

City has to lose one more league match, I'm hoping, got bets lined up against them as soon as market appears. I really don't want them to win the treble haha.

See, Juggy777 what'd I tell you about goalfests? A weekend of goals, goals and goals. And it's not going to be any different until teams have something left to fight for, and there're plenty of those left over the next four match days.

I didn't take part in the last MajSev but I think a lot of people must have come close. Zaha, Wilson Salah, Haaland, Kane, many other "sure bets" are on the scoresheet. Leicester/Everton will be the tricky one, anyone already have 5/5?

1737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 01, 2023, 01:36:59 PM
If I wasn't a Liverpool fan, I'd really enjoy their games this season. Even when they're 3-0 up, they are still crap enough to make the game interesting.

As a fan you hate to see this, yes, it is exciting and yes, it feels good to win in the last seconds but bloody hell - this is not how a top team performs.

I have said it too many times already, but I can't wait for this season to end. My nerves are at a breaking point.

Apparently, Trent loved it. I do love a last-gasp winner too, but it has to happen as an underdog, really, and coming from behind. This was to get three points we threw away. My nerves have long gone, by the way. Don't know when it happened but I've been more or less calm whatever the result. This must be what they call acceptance. Haha

With this midfield and defense, forget about going to the Champions League and focus on the Europa League. Even if Manchester United and Newcastle drop points, Liverpool is unlikely to pick up all the necessary points from their remaining games. The Manchester United-Chelsea game is a derby, and I cannot promise that we will drop any points there, but we are likely to drop 6 points before that game, and if there is a team that can stop United, it is Brighton.

Can't argue with that, Brighton and Newcastle deserve those spots far more than Liverpool or United -- on the pure basis of the football they play and the desire you see on the pitch. The only thing is experience and luck, and both the Reds seem to know how to do it at the last.

Still, I'd prefer to see everything line up for the final game. Be a shame if everything was done and dusted before then.
1738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | QFs on: May 01, 2023, 12:10:31 PM
^ Still haven't made up my mind either way, so I'm just going to wait for outrights, on Alkmaar if they get to the final, but Basel is still my choice. Hammers, Fiorentina, have decent teams but even though I'm more familiar with them, I know also they've been struggling for league form. And if it all boils down to it, it's just a matter of odds and value for me.

Basel is 7.6 now. That's impossible to ignore!
1739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vigilante hacker burns about $300k worth of BTC linked to Russian intelligence on: May 01, 2023, 10:50:40 AM
Hacker, great. Not sure why the label of vigilante -- it would presume they're trying to take the law into their own hands. In which case, by default, all hackers who do this believe themselves to be some form of enforcer, no?

Definitely confusing as to why only a portion was sent to a spendable address. Lawful... neutral? Seems more chaotic neutral Wink
1740  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto traders beaten by girls on: April 30, 2023, 09:07:01 PM
Didn't some octopus beat all sports tipsters in some world cup some ages ago? Sample size, lack of ability to repeat the results. No error margins. I just love pseudo science, don't we all?

Women are showing that they can also do what usually the men can only do. This is great. Time will come that women will not be underestimated anymore and they will now be respected by the men. I wish to see a similar improvement on other parts of the countries.

Actually, the whole story was about women doing the opposite of what men do: gamble away their crypto (just a joke, it's all hogwash).
