If you don't have internet, you can't use this forum (Wait, how did OP..!), you can't use PayPal, nor do your banking online anyway... or any form of digital money.

As posted above, there are workarounds to find access to Bitcoin, but those wouldn't work for PayPal or other, so really, this is a limitation of digital technology, not Bitcoin.

Cash is king for Pakistan, anyway. It was 15 years ago, pretty sure outside urban PK, still the case.
1682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | QFs on: May 12, 2023, 04:52:18 PM
Sevilla proved what Real started, they are bounded to this competition, and one can't just count them out, due to being bad in La Liga
Juventus is still good to pass through the final, but everything can happen in re-match

Bayer played a bit better than result shows, but they will need to win at home to reach final, Roma scored, they didn't, and that is all key stats from first match

Yeah, this is the second time in 2 games I've bet quite risky on Sevilla at great odds, only to have them draw.

They won't lose easily, but it does seem they also won't be able to win easily. I want them through, but also Roma, and then the Italians to get the cup.

The value bets are on Juve and Roma though, away teams just get such a boost to price, even if the home stadiums aren't all that intimidating...

My man mitch only has 1 more answer different to tie the game, but I believe in him, he picked the Villa question as I would have... Over 5.5 shots on target and over 1.5 goals haha. Tough, tough selection but I think it'll hit.

Sevilla really broke the hearts of underdog lovers last night, didn't they?

Don't think as many people as broken by me though:
Images are broken but this is a Basel/Sevilla acca for 47/1...

1684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Champions League Pool ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: May 12, 2023, 11:32:41 AM
@bullrunbro: it totally worked. You can see a tiny little coloured mark in the top right corner of the cell you left a comment on;)

Anyway, yeah, I've to say I'm a bit disappointed in the recent semis... Real lost me money, and I did well to not bet on the other semi, but has anyone noticed how good Real odds are on the next game? Unfortunately, I'll be putting down probably more than I should on that haha...

And hopefully, for the last semi off topic, re ViaBTC, yeah that's the only legitimate public free "accelerator" I know of. Antpool was better, as they had no limits, but they took it down a while back.

The main issue with Via is the tx size.

It's not just outputs actually. Inputs are more problematic for tx size... there was an old formula I knew but with segwit I can't pull it out of my head... but the formula easiest to remember for me, roughly, the most common type of native-to-native Segwit tx, would be 1 input to 2 outputs (assuming change) and that's already around 100-110 bytes.

x = Additional inputs after the first: roughly 70 bytes each.
y = Additional outputs after the second: roughly 30 bytes each.

110+70x+30y

So you could probably actually still spend to 10 outputs and be below 500 bytes. The problem is all our inputs, 34 of them  =)

But I haven't paid more than 10 sats/byte for years since maybe 2018? So never could use Via anyway haha.

P.S. Belatedly, good news, our pool "problem" is settled. I managed to consolidate everything at a rather "bargain" cost of just over 1 mbtc. In fact, if I'd waited just an hour more, I would have saved a bit more, but all the same, pleased! So prizes will not be affected very much at all, and payment should actually be small enough to accelerate if need be.

I'll post back in a few days the final prize distribution figures, just so we know in all it's glory. $10,000 prize pool, amazing, huh?
1685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | QFs on: May 11, 2023, 07:51:15 PM
^^^ Nice bet Slam! I also have Sevilla on my ticket, but I went a bit more by pairing it with Basel in Conference so I'm sweating it out there. I guess I don't like winning easy, huh?

Also rooting for Mourinho, meanwhile. I'd like for him to reach the final and then smack... Sevilla? Imagine that, winning Conference, then Europa, then... UCL? I'll take some bets on that if someone could show me the odds Wink
1686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | QFs on: May 11, 2023, 05:30:27 PM
UEFA Conference League resume today with the two first leg games of semifinals.
West Ham - Alkmaar in London. I think West Ham are better here in this league even though their results aren't that good in EPL.
Fiorentina - Basel in Italy with a clear advantage for Fiorentina for me. I wonder know if Fiorentina will be able to secure the qualification to the final game in this match.

I'm going for broke in this tail end of the season. Alkmaar is wonderful away, and has an excellent record against the top 3 in Eredivisie, but for some reason I don't trust them, Hammers have more or less secured Premiership so everything is in their favour.

Fiorentina similarly has nothing to play for I think, bar some mathematical miracle in Serie A, but Basel is even worse off in the Super League. Nothing left on the line for either but I'll pick Basel instead of Alkmaar as the underdog tonight!

Ah well, it wasn't to be. But let's take it a little over the top today, shall we?

I think Sevilla and Basel on their own have a say in winning tonight's first ties in Europa and Conference, the value is them being away. But instead of singles, I'm going to pair these as a short acca. Feel free to not follow Wink

Can agree with franky partly, don't use mixers you know to be flagged. But this isn't to say mixers aren't your friend. You can still increase privacy from prying eyes in many other cases. A supplier you're dealing with in crypto, or even p2p trading, or even your employer. You don't need or want them to know what you're doing.

For exchanges, there are other non-mixer services to break the links to your wallets.

That said, only a handful of exchanges actually have any kind of KYC worth their salt. Here's a recent example of Gate allowing sanctioned individuals and blacklisted emails to verify on their exchange despite "compliant KYC".

don't let us down against Leicester, secure your CL chances and push them closer to Championship

Hate to see such a faithful stalwart like Vardy take the bitter pill, actually not even sure who else is left of that title-winning team, can't think of anyone else there after Schmeichel left... but that really is the end of that era, and we have to make sure we make certain of that.

Merseyside Blue, oh crap, that got me hehe, Merseyside Red (Liverpool), London Blue (Chelsea), kids won't know, WE was a crazy game.

We have seen enough of Everton's Haram ball over the years, spending so much on players they don't need and changing managers like diapers, they were lucky enough to avoid relegation last season, they are 2 points from relegation and they have to play Man City and in form Wolves for survival, things aren't looking good for them.

WE was the bomb for so long, for years the superior of crappy FIFA but I noticed when I picked FIFA up on my kid's PS, that it had literally copied WE control for control. Anyway... Everton beating City to help Arsenal would be such sweetness.
1690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Champions League Pool ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: May 10, 2023, 09:08:51 PM
I guess KTChampions was watching this pool more closely than anyone else haha. First place is indeed yours, well done! Everyone else, theoretically hahay and up still has a mathematical chance, including me haha.

Good luck to all!

If I win something [expecting though] don't worry about my corns. You can wait as much time as you want. But I thing you are worrying too much. It's still too early and by this time mempool will be back to it's normal congestion.

I was told I was worrying for nothing and I hope that proves to be right. But I still preferred to alert everyone in the pool to a possible scenario -- and gauge the feeling. I'm pleased no one will be upset if we're forced to wait a bit more. In the end, it only makes a difference to prize winners, and maybe it's a small percentage less (currently around 3-4% less of prize amount) if we pay high fees, but still -- good to at least consider scenarios, however unlikely.

Quite happy to see I'll be the only one winning money from mitch but I made a huge save on myself tonight by not betting on any result... I would have gone for under 1.5 first half, or even Milan, but we're not even 15 minutes in and I think this tie is over.

Who imagines Mkhitaryan scoring in semifinal UCL heh.

It usually comes to nothing in hockey, I guess we are preconditioned by futsal where playing without goalkeeper almost always results with goals.

I cannot support this enough. The keeper, even if small, covers so much of the goal in futsal that leaving it open is like giving away a penalty kick without keeper moving.

Despite learning this lesson several times, our team kept doing that to chase draws, and ended up under a minute giving away free goal.

1694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the adjustment of the difficulty rate help with lowering transaction fees? on: May 10, 2023, 04:02:18 PM
In the very very short term, perhaps, but I think it's minuscule. Aim of difficulty is to get block times to the average time, that's all. And if it's lowering, it's because it was taking a bit above the average in the last 2 weeks. In fact, judging from most recent adjustment, barely a couple percent.

With luck and variance, more blocks in this period would only mean higher difficulty in the next anyway...
1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: May 09, 2023, 09:09:43 PM
I'm a little bit shocked that only three of us gave the answers. I'm not counting the semi-finalists, of course. Even Trofo didn't give his answers this time. I guess you all need a break. I wanted to stay in the game so I answered out of my head. I'm not expecting good result for me...

Actually I fully intended to put my answers in and then... forgot. Looks like you actually got a point right, and Cro2 rep got 2/2. All semifinalists are tied at 0-0 haha.

My players have nothing to fight for this season except higher prizes, so I let them holiday in Saudi to watch Ronaldo have another bad day... I even gave my coaching staff time off to place losing bets.
1696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 09, 2023, 06:32:25 PM
For the pool..... how nobody have the guts to put a everton 5-1 win? Tongue  Rdbase where are you? And sojourner most know as buwaytress?.

Hey, hey, I was the only one who got a point from Everton, even as a lover of upsets, even if I believe Everton can score 5 goals, I can't believe Brighton could concede 2, let alone 5!

@casperBGD I'm so pleased for you, and for Merseyside Blue (as Winning Eleven used to call them). Wouldn't it be so awesome for them to beat City next?
1697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +87282 units on: May 09, 2023, 03:51:55 PM
It's Real Madrid time tonight, actually, and it just happens to be against City, so it's not that I'm counting on City to lose here, just counting on Real's magnificence on this particular stage. Benzema and Vini should be well rested, too, while Pep is going to fiddle around a bit, guaranteed.

So let's use up a bit of our profit cushion here, since it's almost season end:

300 units on Real Madrid to WIN vs City @3.50. Other odds: 3.32.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm in touch with Betnomi to see what can be arranged. It's unlikely we consider any other replacement payment -- I hold all the BTC, paying you guys with another source of funds puts them at risk.

I hope all this worry proves to be temporary but I'd rather go through the discussion now so no one is surprised after 10th June!

Back on UCL topic, 35/10 Real Madrid, of course I'm taking that all the way. City treble is hard for me to swallow.

I wonder you guys what kind of transaction fees are referring, maybe bitcoinfees.earn.com is outdated as the median average cost there is 0.22 mBitcoin which is 6 dollars to get confirmed in the next transaction but a 1 dollar transaction should confirm in about 5 hours and this is a time I can wait without problems as long as I save 1 dollar per hour.

That site has been outdated for years haha. There are much better estimates out there but I usually just undercut the estimate from Electrum's own. Blockchair.com is also the easiest to look at (for an estimate).

Believe me, $6 is not going to get you anywhere. 275k txs waiting as of now, but at least the estimate is 300 sat/byte right now. Cro2 made an almost 190/sat byte payment on Sunday ($25) and it just confirmed 40 blocks ago =)

For now, best of luck to the finalists and make sure you place a bet on these guys tonight, doesn't have to be much, just get a couple crypto quid on it!   ( max bet 2mbtc)

Cheers all and best of luck!!

Not the first time we've seen betting markets on forum events, I think I remember having luck in the World Cup one betting on one of our familiars, this time I'm putting my money on Mitchr4, though I can see why a lot are rooting on Pulsar77!

Here's my 10 crypto dollars Wink

And don't forget to follow the BSFL thread if you aren't already. I survived this first season (mathematically safe) but we're going to get some really good people promoted next one!

Man, notblox1, what about that end to the season, huh? Milwall hearts broken, Rovers ensured mutual destruction by coming back from behind. Coventry could have lost anyway, and still made it.

Luton Town probably the outsider in the playoffs... the only name I can't recognise as having ever been in the Premier League. Would be pretty cool to see them back, and it will be the most unfamiliar Prem lineup I can remember in ages... Brentford, Burnley, Leeds, Sheffield, maybe still Nott Forest?
