261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it safe to exchange big amounts? on: September 04, 2019, 06:01:13 PM
Hey.
Is it safe to exchange big amounts on non-custodial exchangers like changelly or shapeshift, or are they designed for small transactions?
I'm a newbie and I want to know if it's safe. Also, I want to know if it's safe to exchange crypto on classical exchanges like binance.

What is your definition of a 'big amount'?

If we are talking about tens of thousands or more, I'd suggest a larger exchange, binance, coinbase, etc. For places like shapeshift, I'd say go for small swaps only. Besides minimizing risk, breaking up the orders probably makes the most sense anyway -- that way the price you get may be better. Too large a buy or sell on a place like that, where the final price isn't guaranteed, could result in under market value.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][market]★ISKRA(CCOH)★Children&Diamonds💎 on: September 03, 2019, 05:13:07 PM
I want to know a few things.

I see there are over 100k ccoh being sold on bitwhite. The only people who would be so stupid to sell at less then ico would be bounty hunters and I do not think you guys gave out 100k tokens. So where in the hell are these orders coming from?

According to bounty speadsheet data, each 2 weeks were 135k-399k tokens were distributed to bounty hunters. So 100k sold tokens seems real number.

Take a look by yourself in spreadsheet

What makes me sad is https://p2pb2b.io/ exchange. It has quite a bad reputation on this forum. And the people that use it are very desperate to sell their tokens.

Agreed about p2pb, they should try to get the coin on some better exchanges. I'm not talking about bittrex or binance or some crazy dream exchange, but even if a small exchange, at least something with a halfway decent reputation. Also ideally without KYC, as it's kind of idiotic to give away your personal information in order to buy or sell a coin not worth very much.

I expect those 100K are bounty hunter coins. Reason being, I'm not sure if they sold very many coins during their IEO. Besides, who else would sell at such ridiculously low prices? Not enough liquidity even for the devs to dump if they wanted to, and it's not like a dev would dump a project all to make like $50. Only bounty hunters desperate for money, probably from 3rd world countries, would sell at these prices.

And usually when projects sell well, they announce something. Not in this case. So I expect very little money was brought in, but they went ahead and released it on exchanges anyway -- at least that is preferable to closing up shop early and giving up.

Still, it'd kind of help of the devs would chime in here, or somewhere.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question about investments I've made on: September 02, 2019, 09:10:38 PM
So, basically, I've invested about $170 into Bitcoin trading. I figured only invest a little bit while I still get the hang of trading. Currently, about $70 is in BTC, $20 is in ETH, and the remainder in KCS. The reason for KCS is because I know that they pay dividends and I already had an account there. I heard that COSS is better with dividends, but I'm already using two exchanges and I'd rather not give out my personal info to any more exchanges. I plan to wait for KCS to rise in price, and then use it to purchase Dash and maybe Monero. The coin I purchase will be one which is generally rising in value, but is at a low point at the time that I purchase it (while the price of KCS is higher). How high I wait for KCS to rise depends on its longterm stability as a coin. If it's a dying coin, then I might wait until the price raises to $1.60, and then jump ship. If KCS is generally going to rise over time, especially as we pull out of this bear market, I will probably only trade a portion for another stable currency. As for ETH, I've got two contingency plans. The first is that I hold onto it if it is generally a stable coin. If it is projected to die out in the near future, I may wait for it to rise in price and then jump ship.

My questions are: Are KCS and ETH stable coins? Should I expect to jump ship with either one? Is Dash a good holding coin, or should I prefer Monero?

Nothing in crypto is stable, besides actual stablecoins, but they are dollar for dollar, so no point in trading with those.

So you are playing with $100 for alts? At that amount, it kind of doesn't matter what you do really ... just stick it either into BTC and forget about it, or take some swings at a lottery coin that may go up 2-10x.

If you plan on practicing trading, in this market it may have less to do with specific coins and just catching the swings, in-between BTC going up and down like a yo-yo. And then hoping whatever coin you bought reacts in a logical way. But most of the alt market lately has acted instead like a sinking stone.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ARDOR | Scalable Blockchain-as-a-Service Platform | Proof of Stake on: September 02, 2019, 06:46:26 PM

By the way: Has anyone information about if the child chain pruning feature development is on the way? That's the main reason I'm interested in Ardor. In the roadmap testing is scheduled for Q4 2019, but it would be nice to have some information about development (Maybe I'll ask this better directly in the Ardor forum/reddit).

I see it was mentioned in a recent news article. Not sure if this gives you any information you don't already know though. Guess the fact they are running it already on their own testnet is promising, however.

https://www.jelurida.com/news/ardor-roadmap-2019

Pruning

The widely expected pruning feature is already running on our internal testnet and we expect to deploy it on the public Ardor testnet in Q4/2019 with mainnet to follow during the first half of 2020.

Coalculus and new childchains could prove interesting too.

We are working with the Coalculus project on their permissioning architecture, which makes use of this feature and we expect to launch additional permissioned child chains during Q4/2019 or Q1/2020.

I still have no idea why they keep bothering with NXT though, seems like all it does is take resources away from Ardor development. They just did a NXT update, which is fine and all, but I'm not sure if it's the best use of their time.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GRAM COIN the new telegram coin Value in november? on: September 02, 2019, 06:25:30 PM
I know telegram had a huge tokensale for gram and most of it was by massive private investors that invested in millions each but i nevee knew that they are also selling their tokens on some exchanges, im not sure if this is the real telegram coin so please make sure before buying from exchanges.

I think the early investors will determine if Gram boosts the markets. I expect however that if they sell, they can make a nice profit even if prices are so-so, assuming there is enough liquidity. And of course that may decrease interest in the coin if they dump the markets.

Question though is if they are allowed to sell yet? It's also possible there is a waiting period, like a year or so, depending on the terms when they bought. I haven't kept track of it, so no idea if they can sell when markets open or not.

I assumed any exchanges currently selling Gram are just selling IOUs? Kind of like futures, which is a bit of a risk.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GRAM COIN the new telegram coin Value in november? on: September 02, 2019, 06:11:27 PM
If GRAM coin goes live during this autumn, at the same time while Bakkt exchange would go live, it will give a huge boost not only to BTC but to the whole market in general. An on the raising market any coin can easily make x5, and I am not speaking about one of the most awaited coins of 2019.

Not sure how much interest there will be in Gram, as once markets gain liquidity, early buyers can dump and make a decent profit. But if the price holds up, it may boost the markets... just not sure if it'll go to BTC or to alts, or both.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][market]★ISKRA(CCOH)★Children&Diamonds💎 on: September 02, 2019, 05:05:53 PM
That whitebit site isn't loading for me

Works fine for me, but the site is loading very slowly. There are only few trades with the price of 0.000001 BTC

I gave up on it loading just assuming it was broken. Never heard of that exchange anyway, but with that price it may not matter much.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][market]★ISKRA(CCOH)★Children&Diamonds💎 on: September 01, 2019, 11:21:03 PM
iskra is currently listed on two exchanges viz it : https://p2pb2b.io/trade/CCOH_BTC and https://whitebit.com/trade/CCOH_BTC I see now that there are many people who have traded Iskra tokens on the market. I hope that the CCOH volume can grow high. The development team also plans to register Iskra with Bittrex or Binance, that is the next step.

That whitebit site isn't loading for me, and I currently see .002 daily volume at p2b, so it doesn't seem to be traded much just yet. There are a ton of smaller exchanges out there though that the coin can get on, I assume it will at least get on a couple.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Ethereum survive below 0.02 BTC per coin? on: September 01, 2019, 07:17:59 PM

If you would like to see which coins fell most here is the website for you: https://athcoinindex.com/
There are only few altcoins that are not in 90% loss compared to the highest price.

That's an interesting site. I was well aware of the drops for the marketplace, but it's kind of striking when you see every coin like that with such huge losses.

My takeaway isn't to single out ETH like it's price is terrible, but simply the entire marketplace is down. The lack of successful ICOs definitely hurts ETH, but if the market recovers and if 2.0 spurs on a run, the price can recover somewhat.

And those are pretty big ifs, but still, it's not like ETH is the biggest loser, easily seen by some coins at 99%+ losses.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][IEO]★ISKRA(CCOH)★Children&Diamonds💎 on: August 31, 2019, 07:39:48 PM

You are absolutely right. Thanks for your tip.

I'll also ask for clarification on how this diamond buying is supposed to work in the first place?

So the partner will use the current price of CCOH as a basis for any purchases, correct, with the idea of a discount being a benefit to using crypto over fiat?

Question I have then is, what other exchanges are planned and what do the devs plan to do to create any volume? As obviously any retailer will want to be able to cash out the coin for fiat, yet that's not exactly possibly when the coin has no liquidity.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][IEO]★ISKRA(CCOH)★Children&Diamonds💎 on: August 31, 2019, 06:59:32 PM

I don’t understand why you wrote this, but the "buy" button is not active. And in site says that IEO is over.

https://p2pb2b.io/token-sale

You don't understand why I mentioned it?

Typically when an IEO or ICO is over, the buy information is removed, information is given on coins sold to date, and if the coin is about to be listed on an exchange, the information is given.

First post here in this forum still has the buy information listed. First page of the website has a 'Buy Iskra' link which goes to the IEO site.

So I'm basically saying, maybe the devs want to update this post and their website and remove the information that makes it look like the coin is still in the IEO phase?

And information on available exchanges, plus planned exchanges for the future? It's probably not a bad idea for the devs to talk about what they plan to do with the coin too.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Bulls Struggling to Surge above $0.26? on: August 31, 2019, 04:55:52 PM
I read that XRP execs keep dumping the coin, making any price increase basically impossible. Once they stop dumping, the coin can increase... if the alt market ever recovers, that is.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How often do you check crypto prices? on: August 30, 2019, 05:03:41 PM
With how the market has been going lately, I try to avoid checking prices. It's just depressing. And even if I see a situation where I think it might be worth trading, btc volatility sort of destroys the move. Unless btc can stabilize at a price for more than a week, it becomes pretty difficult to trade.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: waiting for altcoin season might take time on: August 29, 2019, 11:54:04 PM
Based on technical analysis from experts, we may not see an altcoin season this year. If you are still holding them, you may have to hodl a little longer.

I don't think I will agree with you on this. The altcoin market currently can be described as a gold mine and with good knowledge and understanding, investors can easily take advantage of the drop in the market value of most altcoins and make huge sum of profits. The altcoin market is currently unpredictable and it can easily experience some kind of bull run in any moment from now.

Not sure I'd call it a gold mine, but I agree as far as unpredictably goes.

1-2 months from now I wouldn't be surprised to see either: altcoin market at its lowest ever, or altcoin market going crazy (not 2017 levels, but several coins doing the 3-5x valuation thing). It can go either way and anyone stating they know for a fact what will happen is simply guessing.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][IEO]★ISKRA(CCOH)★Children&Diamonds💎 on: August 29, 2019, 04:31:17 PM

I am not sure what you mean?
CCOH is Iskra?

CCOH is used on tokenjar and P2P for the coin. On the IEO page it states this:
Token Sale End Time
21.08.2019 20:00 (Local)

The 21st has passed, yet strangely the sale page is still up.

https://p2pb2b.io/token-sale/CCOH/1

In the telegram channel people were so excited, asking when-when-when CCOH will be available to trade on p2pb2b.io.
Yesterday trading became available, but no one trades there. Strange...

Look at how cheap you can buy the coins for. What the hell even. Why would someone sell for that. Bounty hunters are so desperat ethe sell $850 worth of coins for $10
I am not sure if I should buy them or not. How would the buying of diamonds go? How would you do the value how many tokens per carot? THis isn't working and I am confused. Are we going to pay for the diamonds with the current market price of ccoh? IF so then what is the point? I wish this would be explained. Where is the dev anyway.

I wasn't aware it was available for regular trading. Kind of confusing to leave the IEO info up and offer regular trading at the same time.

I'm seeing a daily volume of .002 btc so far, so wouldn't worry just yet about dumping. It looks like hardly any liquidity on the exchange, which probably makes sense, as I expect most don't even know it's on any exchanges.

As for diamond buying, I assume it will be based on current market value? So if ccoh is worth .10/coin, then that's what you exchange them for in diamonds. Assuming that diamond buying aspect works as planned. The point I guess is the discount, like a retailer discount for using crypto.

277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cheap Buy Orders on: August 28, 2019, 09:43:52 PM
Depends on the exchange. Sometimes little exchanges may have odd orders, usually at negligible volume levels.

Or it could be a coin without a working wallet. I know yobit has had some coins at unusually low prices in the past. And your first thought may be it's a great arbitrage opportunity. Then you check the wallet and see it's disabled. So you'll get the coin sure enough, but won't be able to move it off the exchange.

So if you do go for this, at least make sure the exchange has a working wallet first.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are airdrops safe? on: August 28, 2019, 04:42:25 PM
Assuming the airdrop doesn't ask any personal information, it should be safe. The exception being btc forks... those airdrops are safe if you go about them the right way. That means don't sweep your private key (or use a fork tool w/ private key) until you have moved the btc to a different wallet. If the wallet is empty, worst case is someone could steal your freebie fork coins (if you go about it the wrong way, or it's an iffy fork) -- but if the wallet still has coins, they can be at risk.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The fuel for the next bull run on: August 28, 2019, 12:27:47 AM

If there is a bullrun, i only see that it could be like in 2017 with shitcoins going to the moon too as cryptocurrencies is only used by speculators.

Not so sure that shitcoins will repeat like they did in 2017. There are some big differences between 2017 and now... first off, many exchanges aren't even trading a lot of shitcoins anymore. Sure, there is always some dinky exchange somewhere trading <whatever junk coin>, but volume tends to be negligible. There is also the issue of just how far crushed some coins may be. Coins can be smushed and still recover, but sometimes when crushed down to a couple of sats, losing like 99.99% of their earlier value, they no longer can recover -- I think many shitcoins lost so much value (like basically all of it) that folks won't be so eager to pump any money into them, regardless of an overall alt season or not.

Now some shitcoins may still do well, but I don't think it'll be like 2017 again.

As for what would spur on an alt bullrun  -- btc consolidating and whales hungry for profit? Friendly regulation? Some new alt taking off? Could be anything really, or sometimes it seems like pretty much nothing at all spurs on a run...  it's up to where whales want to swim.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Energi breaks into Top 50 on CMC on: August 27, 2019, 06:35:17 PM
I honestly expect a dropoff whenever the next airdrop occurs. I realize they have had them in the past and the coin has still grown, but in this market it seems like folks prefer to grab their money and run.

It's also not like the coin has some kind of crazy high volume either ... a lot of folks dumping and I expect to see that ranking decline. Hopefully it's a temporary drop, but again in this market who knows.
