261  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin hits 400$ mark on: November 07, 2015, 07:30:34 AM
Looks like this was the big retrace that was severely needed after the huge increase in price.

It's just a question when it will pick up again, but I expect it wont take too long with current vibes.

Yeah, definitely. A well timed "breather" for what's been a very hot week. A bit of a pull back never hurt anyone - allows us all to "reload", to average down, to build up our positions...
262  Economy / Economics / Re: Why gold price going down? on: November 07, 2015, 07:28:15 AM
Gold is the investment of last resorts. When the stock market and other markets (like Bitcoin) are doing better people are motivated to get on board, trying to ride and capitalize off the wave of appreciation.

I wouldn't dabble in gold to much. There's significantly less appreciation potential in gold than there is in other assets.

This. Supply and demand AND gold doesn't have any intellectual capital or revenue capability to support price appreciation. Investors are completely at the whim of the supply and demand equation. Gold is best when the sky is falling, the economy is disappearing, and we need to resort back to commodities for payment.
263  Economy / Economics / Re: Thousands of expat Americans renouncing citizenship to avoid new tax laws on: November 07, 2015, 07:26:38 AM
This isn't "new" news, but it is important and interesting.

The US tax laws penalize citizens for working outside the US and doesn't offer much greater benefit in terms of services by way of that citizenship or taxes paid than can be found by other countries. I think the real penalty comes at the higher income levels anyway.

Any articles out there about people regretting renouncing their US citizenship?
264  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you think signature Campaigns will still continue when btc goes $800 ? on: November 07, 2015, 07:06:59 AM
SO we have our answer - all the major campaigns have dropped their rates!

What a burn to all of us who spread the word about their business. The bitcoin economy has some positive days and they penalize us for it! Only in the bitcoin economy can employers CUT salaries when the value of the currency increases!?!?

Bitcoin won't be true to its adoption until the merchants and employers stop thinking about how much they're making in fiat and JUST think about their business in Bitcoin.
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NASDAQ.com - Bitcoin: Are We in a Time that Changes Everything for Bitcoin on: November 07, 2015, 06:56:16 AM
Wow, there have been several articles this week and that's helped drive up the price....very nice!   I hope it is new adopters inspired by the articles that are driving the prices up and not just the elite bitcoin manipulators driving the price.

And magazine cover pages about the blockchain. It's exciting indeed.

While this media is great, does anyone see an increase in personal chatter about Bitcoin around their social circles. That would be the true sign of serious or validated adoption.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't HODL!!! on: November 07, 2015, 06:53:56 AM
I'd love to spend more but as the economy improves salaries go down. The BTC working economy is FUCKED UP.

More important than not hodling is not cutting salaries when the fiat to BTC conversion works in Bitcoin's favor. These merchants need stop thinking about Bitcoin in terms of fiat, only then will we see true adoption.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to "wash" your coins on: November 07, 2015, 06:31:45 AM
I am ineterested on how to wash your coins. By that I mean that I get my coins inn a new address but untraceable?

It is not that I am doing something wrong. I am just interested.

Bitmixer.io

But I'd be careful how much you announce your intent. It's not impossible for people to discover who you are through your posts and username.

Isn't this in a way laundering your bitcoins?
 Cheesy

Ummm, yes.
268  Economy / Economics / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto has been nominated to receive Nobel Prize in 2016 on: November 07, 2015, 06:30:04 AM
Okay, I'll admit it.  Where do I have to go to pick up my prize?

If in fact Satoshi Nakamoto was nominated and actually won the award, how would he prove that he is the person he says he is if Satoshi Nakamoto was just a pseudonym?  And, what's gonna stop every Tom, Dick, and Harry from stepping up to claim the award?
Geneva Switzerland.
That is where they get awarded the nobel peace prize, so this one should be the same venue.

The award ceremonies are not conducted in Switzerland.

The Nobel Peace prize is awarded in Oslo, Norway.

The Nobel prizes for Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature, and the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences are all awarded in Stockholm, Sweden.
269  Economy / Economics / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto has been nominated to receive Nobel Prize in 2016 on: November 07, 2015, 06:27:18 AM
Nominations are great!

Technically there is no Nobel Prize for Economics - so what category would Satoshi qualify for? E.g., Peace, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, Medicine?) There is a prize for Economic Sciences but it's not a Nobel Prize.

It would be cool if his contribution to economics were honored...perhaps it's a bit too soon. The impact of his work hasn't been fully realized by the world.
270  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you track your BTC buys/sells? on: November 07, 2015, 05:24:41 AM
Blockchain is a great way to see your activity for a single wallet on chart format.

IF you want to track and manage your profit/loss or cost basis I'd do this:
  • Track quantity of purchase in BTC
  • Track date at time of purchase

Use Excel or some other spreadsheet software to (Google Sheets, etc) to track your transactions and you can use the date at time to reference your fiat to BTC conversion rate. Build in some formulas and the real time gain/loss will be fairly easy.

Have you considered reading posts in the Mining board of this forum?

Here's the link -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=14.0

There's a lot to be learned on this forum - read, learn, contribute.

Welcome!
272  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you think signature Campaigns will still continue when btc goes $800 ? on: November 07, 2015, 05:12:41 AM
Do you think signature Campaigns will still continue when btc goes  $800 ? Will the Campaigns runner will offer low price than now ?

They were running at the same rates when Bitcoin was 1K
So at $800 yep they will still be going.

ha, yeah...that's a GREAT point. If they haven't changed since they came down from $1,000, they aren't going to change on the way back up (if we ever get there).

The biggest thing that will ruin signature campaigns is if users exploit the privilege and post bullshit, non-constructive posts. Let's keep the posts of a high quality - loose lips sink sigs!

Accepted Smiley. Welcome to the club, and be sure to checkout the website you're advertising xD.

I'd kindly ask for you to update the avatar to one of our new ones. I added in/changed some in the first post about 5 minutes ago, seconds before you applied. That'd be cool, thanks. Happy posting!

Thanks!  Just updated my avatar to a new design for your viewing pleasure (although I do like the all black version a lot.) I've checked out Dust Dice, great site! I like how it tracks my betting history in a chart as I'm betting. I used the faucet to quickly earn some bits and then wagered those bits and won...so I'm up 50% at this point!

Can anyone tell me how to join signature campaign..?

Hi, Welcome to the Forum! There's a lot of information about signature campaigns on this forum. All you have to do is take a little bit of time to read the posts here and you'll find your answers - you shouldn't default to creating a new thread just becuse you have a question.

Keep that in mind if you want to join a campaign because frivolous or non-constructive posts will either not be paid or get you banned.

Can anyone tell me how to join signature campaign..?

Be patient. There are always new openings coming through.
275  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 100% Newbie on: November 07, 2015, 05:03:11 AM
A friend said I should sign up here? why?

because this is the biggest forum tot alk about bitcoin, and you can earn while talking, it's a win win situation

before you can do this, you need to work on your rank, and earn more awareness other than bitcoin

I really hate the waiting time for each post. They should validate  each account with a cellphone or facebook this way it is much harder for spammers and we can post, learn and even enjoy itt

It only takes a few weeks to rank up to a level where you don't have a time constraint on your posting. Since you've been registered since August you should be at that level. If you post a bit more you'd see your activity rise quickly and that time constraint would go away.

With that said, it seems like you don't post much anyway - so is the time between posts really an issue for you?

I don't think the fiat conversion matters. All the companies that have signature campaigns deal ONLY in bitcoin. They require bitcoin be used to pay for their services and they pay signature campaign participants in bitcoin. The fiat price doesn't matter!
278  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Auction] Casascius 2013 Silver Single + Silver / Gilt - Starts @ 2BTC! on: November 05, 2015, 05:52:33 PM
Interesting the Gilt Silver has a typo on the ANACS case.... 1Ag4obTt should be 1Ag4obTf

3.75BTC

Oh, that makes it an ANACS error coin - best to bid really high for such a rare item!!!

Are you implying that ANACS rarely makes mistakes?

Implying there needs to be a "sarcasm" font. Tongue

Haha, sarcasm font. You can't hear the tone of Blazed's voice? What a bummer that ANACS f'd the case up. I'm sure they'd corrected it for free, but not if it's changed ownership hands.

280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimond is talking too much shit! on: November 05, 2015, 05:05:09 AM
Guys, his name is Jamie Dimon.

And yeah, he probably thinks it's silly shit. So does almost any king of a business when some new idea or person enters the market.
