I thought Man City were the dumb team, but it turns out that Tottenham are actually much more dumber than City themselves, at least City and Pep were able to escape this humiliation, It sure would have put additional dent on their supposed title chase, but I guess the fixture against Arsenal in few weeks will probably settle that issue. It was a complete turnaround, so It's deserving at the end of the day, right ?

And me dumb enough to believe at half time. City's record going down 2 goals is impressive. We used to be like that, now we can't even keep 2 goal leads to weaker teams.

Anyone read Pep's comments after the game? Can't remember him being that livid/nonsensical.

Hopefully Arsenal's 5-point lead is intact when they take on City though...

I actually think Man Utd could derail Arsenal this weekend, despite what I've said previously about Arsenal running away with it. United just seem to be the thorn in everyone's back this season, and they could pull an upset here. Arsenal also have a history of falling off the wagon a little after the Christmas period. I don't think that's going to happen, but I do think there will be unexpected results, and this game is on top of my list.

I'd still be somewhat confident in the prediction of Arsenal winning the league though.

I feel the same, though am slightly less sure after they dropped points late against Palace. They aren't quite ready yet, and rely completely on a couple of players to keep their form.

The Sportsbet special on Arsenal win plus 8 corners is a great take if you still want to put money on the Gunners.

Please message me with your Betnomi usernames (icopress should have reached out as well) so you can get your yellow cap freebet rewards!

Another thing, everyone should PM me with their Betnomi usernames too for future reference. I know at least 2 of those names are even inactive on forum so we'll just have to keep note.

Guess who's back in my MajSev? Michail Antonio! I mean, man, he has to come in and score this week, no? Bamford had a lot of fun in FA Cup too, so he's also back in my selection. Solanke is injured so I am dead there as I put him in too early (can't change!), Ollie (injury doubt but Unai promises he's fine) also get my approval to put their names back on the goal board.

Salah also in, even if I feel Gakpo might break his duck, but if you like Chelsea then you gotta have Havertz.

But most of them need to cut their teeth for a long time before managing a big team (I say big in the sense Leicester City's actually won the Premiership).
I, too, love it when a great player takes up managerial positions (I being more of a la Liga fan, I am mostly relating to Zidane and now Xavi, although he's still trying to achieve something with Barcelona)  Wink

Yeah, it's not just nostalgia or sentiment, it's nice to know there is life after hanging up the boots -- Zidane and Xavi, now that you mentioned, I not only was lucky enough to watch in their prime, lucky enough to see them manage. So many to admire, even if some like Pirlo or Gattusso had a tough time behind the dugout.
2604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2022/2023 on: January 20, 2023, 01:25:34 PM
You and me both backing Blades. As usual, only on my acca, though, and this time only using that single game from EFL -- too many big games elsewhere to ignore!

Apart from Sheffield, Stoke and Watford  (and I believe because only of home advantage), every other game in this round is finely balanced according to bookies, no favourites!

If I were betting more money though, I'd go also for HT wins for all those 3 to get 10/1.
2605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: January 20, 2023, 12:13:53 PM
They have the Sportsbet Special available for the Arsenal vs Manchester city match well in advanced. Over 7.5 corners with an Arsenal win @2.70x if your into those markets.

It should be at least 5/1 if it's Arsenal Citeh, but it's actually United, who came down from a disappointing draw with Palace (I had a simple 10/1 acca on Palace and Arsenal so that was a bummer).

Still, an extremely good offer, I was going to go all ML on Arsenal anyway, and 8 corners for that boost, yeah I went "big" on this one too.

Hate how I'm chasing so many losses from first leg lost on accas, meh.
2606  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: January 20, 2023, 11:11:19 AM
So Messi vs Ronaldo played out to the expected win. Took the PSG win and 8 corner specials, so it was a pretty great 25/10 bet to win, Ronaldo even almost got the hattrick special won, celebrations over the top (as usual).

City had such a comeback win so Arsenal need to continue the momentum. Won't be easy against United but I'm reupping on them again. Almost 2/1 with a boost, no brainer right?
2607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 19, 2023, 09:37:31 PM

That's literally Tottenham being 2 goals up just within less than 4 minutes, I could have said I saw this coming and now I guess I couldn't have been more right about my prediction of both teams to score and Tottenham not to lose the game, now that's even Guardiola can come up with a plan to get at least one goal as well.

Aaaand it's all gone in 15 minutes or so. Kulusevski's proving Spurs need him in the team, first half actually powered and steamed over City like paper, but now they've flipped their tune and played a crap second half. Turning off now after City lead... thought I had a really nice 9/1 bet on Spurs booked but it's all gone to water now heh.

Who knows, 2 more goals before the game ends? I'll wake up tomorrow and find out.
2608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: January 19, 2023, 05:48:42 PM
Tell you what, Napoli might also be facing a tricky game next because Salernitana (the team I still can not simply understand at all but hey it's Serie A) might be getting the "new coach" effect.

So they fired him after the 8-2 humiliation to Atalanta, and 2 days later, rehired him. Both president and Nicola were speaking in loving tones to each other after that... promising they will never lose a game like that again.

Don't you love Italy...

Speaking of Atalanta, they've been getting back their goals lately huh?

Hooray!

Yet with caution, hate to be the wet blanket, but holding these licences won't mean much if regulators don't like what you're doing, and if the lessons of NEXO, Genesis and Gemini over the past year are anything to learn from, it's that these FI licences allow for very specific activities. What got all those three in trouble (litigation ongoing) is that they also provided interest-bearing accounts.

Binance does the same (Savings) and actually a lot, lot more... those licences won't save them if someone anti-crypto sits up and takes notice.

United's hitting a rich vein of form, how I wish they'd kept Ronaldo and Rangnick or Ole longer haha...

Do you think it would help Liverpool?  Wink

By the way, if United now holds the winning score with Crystal Palace, then they (albeit formally) will come out on a clean second place and will be higher than City. Who would have believed this at the start of the season?
If this victory takes place, then I think that at least 50% is the merit of De Gea, today he saves.

Oh, no of course not. But it always helps my mood to see United in pain and misery.

De Gea has actually held United up for a very long time, even accounting for when his form was poor. I actually wish he'd just kept the clean sheet though, I had bets riding both on and against United. Draws always take me out of everything.

I really miss Ole and Ronaldo, and I wish they had never picked this bald coach. pain Undecided

Right? Liverpool can make me either really happy or really down, but United's pain is a special kind of joy I miss.

Man United probably didn't do well enough to earned the win imo, so the result seems rather very fair to me, I had Man United to win 2-1, but at least I would have gotten 1.5 points if they kept the lead.

Didn't watch but Palace had 5 shots on goal to United's 3... seems like United forgot that they win games with less possession!

Let’s have them put back in their box where they belong Wink

Yes, please!
2611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper wallet for BTC used to be the best on: January 19, 2023, 02:22:35 PM
Don't need to add much more to what's already been said, except to agree with the summary that paper wallet, used improperly, can be really bad. Used with all the additional knowledge we now know, it's still the best, but hardly for everyone. Hardware wallet should still be the best mix of ease and security.

I also have electrum desktop wallet that I use for fast payments and holding smaller amounts of btc (below 0.1). I feel that it's safe enough for such small amounts.

Even at today's price, still a bit too rich for me to keep 0.1 on a hot wallet though! I definitely did see it in BTC units, but with price for the past 18 months or so, I tend to convert in my head and readjust -- about $1000 is mine now, same as my regular debit card.

Couacaud took a set off of Đoković - did not expect that to be honest, but at least it gave me a decent handicap betting opportunity.

It's going well so far, shame I did not have more money on my account. Would have gone all in with serious cash but I'm stuck at work and could not have transferred it on time.

Yeah, 3:1 and 3:2 seem like good value every time that guy plays, though seems like he carried some pain after.

Some terrible outings for me trying to play live on Fritz and Ruud after going behind did NOT go well, though, those two I was pretty sure would make it one more round, would have lost even more money on Zverev, tbh but good thing I ran out of time.
2613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 18, 2023, 09:31:17 PM
Right now, Leicester and Everton are struggling, but no one is paying attention to them because everyone is focused on Liverpool and Chelsea's recent performances.

In any case, when the big boys struggle, it gives the smaller teams a chance to compete for the league, as it did in 2015 when Leicester won the league. Right now, Arsenal is at the top of the league not because they are great, but rather because other teams are having difficulties due to injuries and other factors. Having more teams than what we currently have will make the league look unprofessional and boring.

Yeah, credit due to Arsenal (and Leicester) for what they're doing and where they are now but I definitely agree that the similarities of this season and Foxes's one is that the other contenders are all struggling for consistency.

Everton and Leicester, even Villa, West Ham, Saints, Wolves, I'd say have all lost their way in varying degrees, but because they're never expected to challenge, their woes going under the radar.

United's hitting a rich vein of form, how I wish they'd kept Ronaldo and Rangnick or Ole longer haha...
2614  Economy / Economics / Re: We are not out of the woods yet on: January 18, 2023, 06:18:10 PM
To me it seems we are at the point what would need an unseen devastating blow to make markets suffer more then they already have. And at this point only crash of the Binance, fatal flaw in ETH code, or rebirth of Satoshi could do it.

It's very telling that market crash after FTX wasn't anything compared to mayhem that UST crash caused. It was just chosen to be the scapegoat for the whole bear market. It didn't seem to matter that when it happened we were already near the bottom.

I'm expecting one as well, but as with all the past "super crashes", it will be deep, it will be severe... but it will also be swiftly followed by a rebound that sets the floor and foundation for recovery into the next post-halving rally.

Terra and FTX were scapegoats, for sure, and almost none of my circle (albeit small and not personal, I see as significant) was affected.

When we've got forum friends and people we know impacted by an event, that'll be it.

Steve, nice promo. I booked myself on one of the specials... but gave a wide berth to the Ronaldo hattrick. I know it's possible, but PSG won't want the embarrassment, they'd rather hack his legs for red cards!

Liverpool expected to make changes tonight due to the build up of fixtures. Could be a good thing playing the younger, lesser known players. Regardless though, I think it makes sense to bet on Wolves to win tonight.

I would have agreed with you last night, and I actually did not bet a single satoshi on this. Didn't even put it on any future acca, though with hindsight, it was really great to see we still dominated the game and deserved to win with half the team either second-choice players or unproven ones. Klopp did warn that he was hauling off players who didn't perform, though, so I definitely expected him to play a different team.

This wasn't even him saving his team, he was just fixing the awful form of those who lose the Brighton game ha -- we still have to play them again so we do have an opp for revenge.

Was it strange I didn't even feel happy we won? Some relief for sure but I felt almost no satisfaction.

Crystal Palace vs Man Utd tonight in the Premier League. If Man Utd want to get taken seriously in the title race they need to take 3 points tonight. A win would put them level on points with Man City.

Arsenal play Man Utd at the weekend, it’s good for the Gunners that Man Utd play tonight. Hopefully United have a tough game & suffer from fatigue at the weekend.

Palace to beat United, then Arsenal to follow it up. That's my acca Wink

I can get you Nitro for the regular price (i.e Basic for ~€ 3,60), btw. Wink

I accept BTC, ETH, any stablecoin, or even altcoins if supported by major exchanges.

Sent you a PM for reg Nitro -- was holding off for a while now but would rather buy from a forum peep. I have a mental checklist of new things I've bought with BTC, so this will be a personal highlight of the week for me Wink

Boom Raducanu out. And Norrie might be the next big scalp today... 1:1 and Lestienne, whom I'd never heard of (I know, I know, I don't pay much attention) looks the much better player, made a couple of errors in first and now almost flawless, keeps breaking Norrie.

Not actually a surprise, I was talking against Nadal even before AO started. Granted even more in some other topics related to Sportsbet specials. This was most likely scenario from the start of the tournament. Not sure exactly when injury happened but it was much sooner than 3rd set, he was already injured in second set for sure, had big problems with movements and tried to shorten the points as much as possible.

Yeah I remember the ridiculousness of him being posted as top seed and odds at one point were 7/1... as if his injury and age were something he could keep at the back of the pocket.

Read about the injury, it was during 2nd set. Still think it was his first set that did it all because he tried to chase... apparently opponent was still nervous.

Even if Rafa won, no way he continued.
2618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: January 18, 2023, 12:57:51 PM
Never good to hear about people pulling out, first Nick, now Rafa. Murray's the success story so far (didn't even realise he had a synthetic hip!!) so it's gotta be the feel good story of the year if he goes through to at least QF.

One freebet from Nadal at least, still wish things turned out different, but I did say the odds were realistically stacked way too high.

Don't forget to Opt in on EPL promo... Arsenal and Southampton give out freebets ($10 for $50) for every match regardless of outcome. Missed a string of matches just because I didn't even opt in!

2619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] - $9 BILLION EUROPEAN DIGITAL BANK N26 ENABLES BITCOIN TRADING on: January 18, 2023, 10:24:56 AM
A bit misleading to say they don't offer custodial wallets, so customers can't move off Bitcoin.

More accurate to say they're not offering exchanging actual Bitcoin. Not a single satoshi sits with them -- I would wager you can't even deposit Bitcoin on that platform.

If I'm wrong, then I'm curious to know how it works here where I live where N26 is a licenced back (with exact same deposit guarantee protections) and if Bitcoin deposits would enjoy the same insurance.
2620  Economy / Speculation / Re: How was your belief formed? on: January 17, 2023, 05:57:15 PM
Maybe not so much investment for me as a means of money. Working in a new country every year or couple of years for most of my adult life. And coming from a non-Western country, the ease of digital payments is taken for granted by most people. Myself included.

Bitcoin solved a lot of banking and money issues for me. Also started saving in Bitcoin, more of an experiment than anything but grew more convinced by its security and failsafes (it could never be taken from me).

The evidence for that, even the understanding of, came later.

Price is nice to behold of course. But the confidence that it is always there, always available, always accessible, always safe. That is the belief that keeps me here.
