2641  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: June 04, 2019, 07:48:43 PM

Thanks for help me to verify that sign message. Anyway, can i change my signature message but in the history of my signature still recorded? Or every someone ask my sign message, i must use same mesagge?

Regards
Hyudien

The idea is to show that you are still in control of the private keys of the address you have signed the message from.

All you need to do, to prove that you are in control of the staked address is to sign a message (any message) with the address.

Signing a message here is like signing any documents by hand, no matter what the document (or the message) is.

Hope this is simple enough to understand the idea Smiley

If you need to start learning about bitcoin, first to do is to go here > https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started
There you will find all the information you need as a beginner, later, when you have already read what bitcoin and blockchain are you can comeback and continue asking questions.
There is no need to explain everything from scratch but later if you have questions and you cannot find answers searching the forum you are most welcome to ask, there is always someone who can help Smiley

I have Trezor and I'm very satisfied. There is one important thing to remember when you setup the wallet, there is an additional passphrase which is critical.

~snip~

Keep it in mind when you order trezor. I can advise you to buy two wallets, one for back-up in case you forget your passphrase and erase your other device, then you can transfer the funds to the a fresh wallet from the backup.

You can setup the trezor without any passphrase too, simply by letting the password field empty.

And instead of buying a second trezor, writing the passphrase on the backup paper of the mnemonic code would also be a viable (and cheaper) option.

That's true, but many people do it and then forget their passphrases. Regarding the backup, it depends but if we are talking about funds like 10k$ and over it's always good to have a backup.

Before you do anything read the rules and the stickies.  You can start with this > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0
This is not an ordinary forum, NO. This is a completely different universe from what I've seen til now. Keep in mind that copy/pasting without reference will just get your account banned.
Spend some more time reading around and you will find all you need.

I have Trezor and I'm very satisfied. There is one important thing to remember when you setup the wallet, there is an additional passphrase which is critical.
You need to remember it, otherwise your wallet with all the funds can be lost forever.
This passphrase will be required when you do the firmware upgrade of the trezor hardware wallet, but the catch here is that if you enter it wrong, you won't get any error message, just a new (empty) wallet will be generated. https://blog.trezor.io/seed-pin-passphrase-e15d14a0b546

Keep it in mind when you order trezor. I can advise you to buy two wallets, one for back-up in case you forget your passphrase and erase your other device, then you can transfer the funds to the a fresh wallet from the backup.

What about those space rocks? It's not easy to find even one and you have 5-6 of them? I guess they also have a cool story behind them but how can you prove it?
2647  Economy / Lending / Re: LoyceV's Legendary Little Lightning Loans on: June 03, 2019, 01:36:32 PM
I want to try it too at a later stage.
My big house project is soon to be finished, just left to build a veranda and paint the roof and that will be all for this year and then I'll setup my Lighting node as I dream to do this for very long time now.
2648  Other / Meta / Re: [NEWS]Bitcointalk Newsletter - Weekly report of all interesting topics DRAFT! on: June 03, 2019, 01:32:04 PM
This should be mostly user generated list, bacause I have no time to browse the whole forum constantly.
I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of spam as well but I want to do a self-moderated thread to keep away the spammers.

Where is the drama A.K.A “weekly DT abuse” section?

I came for the technology, stayed for the drama.

But seriously, I support this. I don’t have as much time as I had back in the old days and I’ll be considerably busy this year, so that would really help me a lot (I like to stay tuned to what is happening, which is something I like about Reddit).

If you want drama, no problem we have plenty material already, but the post will be quite long then Smiley

A weekly two-line summary of the developments in the Wall Observer thread would be nice too, it has interesting posts but too much to read everything.

Then someone should report this as I barely look into it, full of jokes and fun but it's hard to find any valuable info there..
And I'm not sure which board would be most appropriate board for this newsletter.
Beginners & Help, why not? Ignoring the name of the board, and looking at the main targets of the newsletter, is to give weekly update on all interesting topics/ serious things happen in the forum.

The newsletter is definitely for all users, but there are reasons why I think we should publish it in B&H board.
- High rank users can more easily find what they need (mainly because they know where to find it, and have enough skills to effectively find what they need);
- High rank users don't care to visit B&H if there is a topic that they are interested in;
- Beginners & newbies actually have bigger demands on such newsletter and weekly updates on important stuffs;
- Self-moderation is available in this board.
Consequently, I believe that Beginners & Help is a good place for the newsletter.

Suggested local rules:
- Spam posts will be deleted by OP without notifications.
- Readers should support OP by reporting any spam post they see in the topic to moderators

I was thinking about it too, I have a few other options. Reputation- is full of different data so it's kind of OK there, and we have also the Off-topic section, bit there the thread won't be very popular and all the post "bots" will join and make quite a lot of work to clean the thread.

Topics usually lose their importance over time, so even if there is an important topic for everyone, it may end within a week.
I suggest that someone create an infographic that facilitates many topics in one place.

I wish there would be Bitcointalk Crossword Puzzle for some fun.

That would be great but I don's see who is going to do it. It's much more work than just copy and add to the OP.

10 day to the end Sad It was so fun all this time with all the ups and downs. At the end is the last day that matters.

2651  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion about acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Community values. DT on: June 03, 2019, 08:34:09 AM
So here is the dilemma, is this a fraudulent behavior and does it deserve the red paint or not?
Shall we pursue everyone using bots to increase their coin's volume traffic and the exchanges allowing this?
1) Not all bots are wash-trading bots; wash-trading bots are likely a minority as they can easily create the required volume.
2) No one involved in the project can prevent others from doing this with their coin/token.
3) It warrants a negative rating only if:
a) There is sufficient evidence that there are bots wash trading and,
b) There is proof/admission/etc. that the team is behind this.

I was also condenser if someone want to harm your project can just he can just set up a few bots and done.
Thank you Lauda, this is a whole new field for me, and I don't have time to deeply learn all the related matter, I should tho.

Even the big exchanges like Binance and Bitfinex do it.
Quote
About 86% of the trading volume looks to be fake with 65% of that total real volume originating on Binance and Bitfinex, both of which have virtually no regulatory oversight
My interpretation is different: based on this, I'd say Binance and Bitfinex only have real trading volume, and together they handle 65% of the real market volume.

Damn I read it at least 3 times, and this "both of which have virtually no regulatory oversight" made me think that they also shows fake volumes but are correct.
BTW here is the total analysis if anyone is interested in > https://www.sec.gov/comments/sr-nysearca-2019-01/srnysearca201901-5574233-185408.pdf

Bumping this thread with one dilemma.

Some of you may know already about this case >
[POS/MN] ONEX Oneexbit coin is NOT A SCAM but FULLY WASH TRADING on CryptoBridge

Just to sum it all, the ONEX coin was using bots to trade the coin only to increase the trading volume and fool investors.
This was also confirmed by their team >

Good day, my name is Maxim Zorin
I am the CEO of OneExBit project
You we put a negative review in the subject https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5129693.new#new
let me explain the situation
we are one of the few projects with his finished product on the masternode the market. we do not deceive anyone, our faces are open, we develop a good and high-quality product anyone can download our terminal and use it. https://oneexbit.com/
about trading bots, we have bots, but bots trade 100 percent of projects and exchanges.
Those people who are trying to throw mud at us are real scammers who offered us to collect a lot of money and the abyss without opening faces.

we refused them and now their task is to destroy our project.
here razoblachitelny document which I mean they published

If there is an evos investor here, then the information below is for you.

dear evos investors - they are scammers
this link tells the story of how the scammers tried to deceive the Onex team and presents the data of these people

https://docs.google.com/document/d/13ZkpE72Zk7JaT_CeyHBGH8L3cDrfcZY8_HOF30RHSDY/edit

I ask you to understand the situation and remove from us the stigma of fraud, we are living people in a working product, we do not deceive anyone.

that's why they're trying to mud us.

Personally for me, if you are trying to fake something you are no longer trustworthy, but seems like using bots to keep the trading volume up is not uncommon for many different coins and exchanges.

Here is one analysis of the whole crypto market from a few days ago. > https://www.theblockcrypto.com/2019/05/28/up-to-86-of-total-reported-cryptocurrency-trading-volume-is-likely-fake-according-to-analysis-of-exchange-website-visits/

Even the big exchanges like Binance and Bitfinex do it.

@onex_team, keep in mind that I removed the red tag only because the presented proofs were not strong enough, but that doesn't mean the if more proof is presented, you are on the save side.
2655  Economy / Reputation / Re: Iasenko's DT Negative/Positive feedback discussion thread. on: June 02, 2019, 07:17:31 AM
After all I couldn't find more strong evidence of scamy behaviour, except the fake training volumes, which seems to be a common practice among this type of services therefore I replaced my red tag with netural one.

2656  Economy / Reputation / Re: Iasenko's DT Negative/Positive feedback discussion thread. on: June 01, 2019, 09:45:19 PM
You personally IMPROVE your opinion to everyone around you, you just shout about this project at every corner and you are well prepared, I would not be surprised if you make a new thread on the forum to confuse everyone, tell me what happened, you were quiet, suddenly such an explosion of negativity towards them. this is absolutely not normal, you are hiding something.

First. How many threads i have started regarding the case Huh - 0. FACT!
Second. How many thread I have mentioned the onex_team?? 2 - one in the Scam Accusation section and here.FACT!
Third. How the hell I exploded as I posted max 3-4 posts on this case as 1 of them was a respond to you?
And last, what could I possibly hide, you tell me?

There is a scam accusation thread in the section, I read it, dig a bit in the case, saw the facts and consider the account to be endangering the newbies. Tagged it and post here why I tagged the account + gave both sides tribune to post their accusations/explanations. That's all. I just want everything to be public, and all my decisions as DT to be crystal clear to everyone.
I'm know that not everyone can be happy, but I do my best.
2657  Economy / Reputation / Re: Iasenko's DT Negative/Positive feedback discussion thread. on: June 01, 2019, 08:20:08 PM
Unfortunately, my free time the past few days was not enough.
I'm still investigating the case, the files that onex_team provided are in Russian, and my Russian is not very good, or at least not at this level to be certain that the provided evidence are enough.
Therefore I'm calling other Russian-speaking DT members to help me out with the evidence.

As I understand it, iasenko blames EVERY project, is it threatening them or what? Using the fact that he has a "bloated" reputation? Got a lot of posts in BT? so things are not done.

I read BT more, but decided to answer.

I'm not sure what you are talking about but anyway, no matter what reputation you think I have, all I aim to do is to protect all those newbies from being scammed. I don't want to ruin anyone's reputation, and I'm trying to base my judgment only on facts.
So my personal opinion is that every project using fake volumes is not to be trusted, but if there is a public acceptance of such behavior, I won't enforce my opinion to anyone.
2658  Economy / Reputation / Re: Iasenko's DT Negative/Positive feedback discussion thread. on: May 31, 2019, 10:44:17 PM
Looking for a opinion and input from other DTs.

Here is one accusation thread >  [POS/MN] ONEX Oneexbit coin is NOT A SCAM but FULLY WASH TRADING on CryptoBridge

I looked trough the accusation and everything seemed to be true. There are all the same accounts "trading" in between some amounts. This was new to me and looked as fraudulent activity.
Then I tagged the onex_team account for faking trading volumes using bots.
After digging a bit more, this seems to be a common practice among other exchanges as well.

Now comes the question to the other DT's, shall we pursue this kind of attitude or this is acceptable practice ?

Here are the PMs I got from both sides :

2659  Other / Meta / Re: Does anyone keeping track on deleted message per user? on: May 31, 2019, 09:01:15 AM
Vod's BPIP tracks this on each user's profile page. It's on the bottom left of the page in the "posts" box.

For example: https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=o_e_l_e_o
"Posts deleted by moderators: 10"

Looks like I'm blind 0_o, I'm on that page probably 20 times a day and ..I haven't seen this, thanks man.
Then my question is answered. Locking this one.

Tried to merit you but.. out of merit.. I'll do it sometime soon, or I'll just report you to a merit source Wink
2660  Other / Meta / Does anyone keeping track on deleted message per user? on: May 31, 2019, 08:48:56 AM
This is a question to all those who scrape data from the forum. Is there any database of deleted messages by moderator per user?
The data is available from the modlog.
