1762  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] BPIP Extension - user info add-on / extension for Firefox, Chrome, et al on: February 18, 2020, 01:18:23 PM
Is the same here, and I don't distrust Lauda. I have the DT settings ON, and there are not issues with other DT members, at least I haven't notice yet.

I'm assuming it's this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5098579.0

It shows "DT2" correctly for me. It takes a while to show up - there are large images on the page and the extension works when the page is idle, so basically after everything else has been loaded.

Could you please press Ctrl-Shift-i, reload the page and let me know if anything shows up in the console log.

Interesting, it appeard back after I click the link to see what thread you have posted.
I know it takes a while to show,so that's why I checked with LoyceV's comment and he had the DT1 on the name ( I don't recall seing eddie's DT2 tag tho). I opened Lauda's the profile as well and there was no DT2 sign.
Is it possile to load first DT1s and later DT2s with delay? I waited like a few minues to take a screenshot and upload it and hare it here.
1763  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] BPIP Extension - user info add-on / extension for Firefox, Chrome, et al on: February 18, 2020, 01:04:28 PM
I think there is a bug when someone distrusts DT member.
For example, I have ~Lauda in my trust list, and extension did not show DT2 badge on his/her profile. After removing "~Lauda" from my trust list, now I can see DT badge regularly.

It can't possibly be related to your trust list. The extension doesn't know who you are and whom you trust/distrust. If you notice this happening again please check if "Show DefaultTrust position" is turned on in extension settings and if it is - let me know which browser you're using so that we could debug this further.

Is the same here, and I don't distrust Lauda. I have the DT settings ON, and there are not issues with other DT members, at least I haven't notice yet.  (don't get confused, I've disabled the avatars Smiley

Interesting, she is on my DT2. Here's a rating >
1764  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exchange managed to lose 7000- 13000 BTC in Non Payment?(BTC downtrend reason?) on: February 18, 2020, 12:51:14 PM
There should be some kind of regulation, everyone can create an exchange and then just steal the funds, like what we see here.

There's quite a contradiction. Regulations, among other things (including the fact the owners may be prosecuted for theft) bring the so much hated KYC (so the prosecutors get to know which individuals the funds are stolen from).
Don't take me wrong, I am pro-regulations for companies, but it's hard (actually impossible) to keep everybody happy.

The problem is that all the regulations and KFC ( i mean KYC) are turning the exchanges into a bank institutions, the government have overview of what you possess and still can turn you down if they want so.
And we all go back to the good old trust. Mt.Gox was also trusted exchange but see what happened, people never believe it will happen to them. Binance was hacked but they manage to recover, so they build more trust but you never know. Same for me, I don't know what I can expect from Coinbase, I never had any issues with them, but this does not guarantee that they are honest and won't still my funds there, that's why I keep only those I'm feeling "OK" (if you can every feel ok for such things but) to risk.
1765  Other / Meta / Retrospective view on the community generated suggestions to improve the forum. on: February 18, 2020, 11:01:45 AM
In August 2018, hilariousetc as a community representative made a request to theymos for some changes in the forum. Not long after we got answer what can be changed and what should be further considered.
I took some time and when trough the list.
Here is what has been implemented form the list. (there were other changes that were not listed here)

I'm not going to respond here in detail to all of these ideas. It'd be extremely long. I will classify them as OK/maybe/no:
Quote
• A newbie welcome message or link to a welcome thread upon sign-up explaining the basic rules and links to everything they need to know including the full forum rules, helpful guides and FAQs etc. No excuses for not knowing the rules then.
Partly implemented. Not officaly published <someone has to confirm that>
• Dedicated sub board mods for most boards that don't have any mods or non-global mods already assigned (Bitcoin Discussion, Beginners & Help, Off Topic etc).
Not implemented
• More patrollers/mods who just handle sig spam or farmers.
We have the recovery team - taking care of the spam as well.
• Restoring the memberlist search and stats (very useful for finding huge farming abuses).
Nothing on that front. Many third party projects monitoring the stats tho.
• Enforce the sig campaign guidelines. If a campaign is spotted that is doing little to nothing and is abused en mass by spammers, farmers, bots and copy and pasters they are warned. If nothing changes then they are punished with such things as bans, threads trashed, signatures blacklisted site-wide etc.
Nothing really official there yet.
• A 'bump button' for the marketplace that only allows you to bump your thread once every 24 hours. Manually bumping by posting will then be disallowed. As mentioned above, posts by lower ranked accounts could not be able to bump threads thus curbing potential abuse.
Implemented bump button, to different section.
• A report queue for reported messages. Currently every global and admin are spammed by any reported message and half of the time when you go to handle it it has already been handled, thus wasting everybody's time.
No info <input from mods requited>
• More admins or demi-admins added to help with account recoveries and other admin duties.
Done, the recovery team took over the recoveries.
• A captcha added to a user's first post or two/three etc to curb bot usage (purchasing a Copper Membership could remove these).
Not implemented
• Require email verification for new accounts.
Not implemented
• Require email verification first before passwords/emails are changed.
Not implemented
• A Beginners and Help board for the Alt Coin section (the bitcoin one is mostly swamped with alt coin and bounty-related issues).
Not Implemented.
• Add badges as a reward for high reporters and/or merited users (some perks would also be nice). Maybe we could have a 'most merited' user of the month badge. Prizes or awards could be given at the end of the month/year for the biggest rats/grasses/ass-kissers merited users or reporters.
Not implemented yet.
• More options for self-moderated threads (being able to limit participation to certain ranks ie no Newbies or Juniors etc or banning certain users from being able to post in your thread at all to stop trolls and personal attacks etc).
Not implemented.
• Signature bans. Bans that remove the signature for x amount of time or even permanently (actually proposed by theymos but never followed up on). Being able to blacklist an entire campaign's signature would also be helpful for those campaigns that refuse to do anything about spam.
Done, and seems to work very well
• Certain sub boards shouldn't count to post count or activity (Bounties, Games & Rounds and possibly Off Topic).
Not implemented.
• Awarding merit doesn't take you to a new page. Clicking the merit button multiple times could pump up the merit one by one. This would make awarding merit much swifter and less annoying.
Not implemented.
OK in principle, would require thought/adjustment/implementation. Many of these things are more complex than they look at first glance.

Quote
• Charging ICOs a fee to make their ANN here. You could even get rid of the ANN board completely and give them their own sub once they've paid the fee. If there's no Ann board then there will probably be no paid bumping because it will be useless, but let them spam away in their own slum and squalor.
Not implemented.

• A dedicated Marketplace for the Alt Coin board that would be used for currency sales/exchanges and advertising/requesting services etc (the current one has no description and is being used as catch all for anything and everyting and not what it was intended for).
Not implemented.
• Requiring manually whitelisting of all new accounts before they can post. All new users will essentially be shadowbanned until they've been verified by a mod. This will eliminate 99% of bots and spammers before they even start. Spam threads can be trashed on sight before they even become spam megathreads.
Not implemented.
• Press board locked/archived as it's served its purpose
Not implemented.
• Some local boards have Press and Off topic subs. They should be removed as they're hotbeds for account farmers/spammers and are not necessary here.
Not implemented.
• Warnings in red displayed to lower ranked users when they go to post alerting them to the most commonly ignored/broken rules.
Not implemented.
• A sub board for highly merited users to encourage constructive topics only by users who have proven their worth here over time (or make the Ivory Tower merit requirement much higher [OMG ITS LIKE SOVIET RUSSIA GULAG]).
Not implemented.
Maybe.

Quote
• A publicly displayed 'banned' rank under a person's username for permabanned accounts (people are wasting both theirs and staffs time reporting already banned users and bots).
Not implemented. Some third party projects support this feature.
• Implementing a redirect notice/landing page for when users click an external link urging them to double check the url for phishing and possibly warning them of the dangers of buying things from autobuy links and that they should likely use a trusted escrow etc).
Not implemented.

• Require at least one merit to become a Junior Member (bots will never rise past Newbie status then and can be nuked once spotted).
Oh yes 😊
• More donator ranks such as Silver and Gold Member that come with additional perks such as avatars and Full/Hero member-sized signatures etc (which will severely curb account farming and sales). You could also even have an expensive premium 'Platinum' rank (bling bling) that comes with further benefits (for example: image banner in signature, animated gif avatar, custom title, ability to change username etc).
Not implemented.
• Remove signatures completely from everyone (or everyone only has a basic signature) and to get one you either need a very high amount of activity & merit or:
B) Buy them via new donator ranks (theymos did initially comment: "This may be a good idea. Though I do think that people who don't pay should be able to get a small signature." [though Newbie signatures have been removed completely since this comment was made]).
Not implemented.
• Posts from lower ranked accounts don't bump ICO threads to the top (which would then render paid bump spam useless).
Done. Still some spam in the section but much better than before.
• Two report buttons/queues: one for sig spam and low quality posts and one everything else that is more urgent (hundreds of reports on spam posts are currently burying more important reports).
Not implemented.
• A new member rank after Legendary as it is becoming far too common now and will only become more so as time passes. I would suggest fixing Legendary at 960 activity and the new rank is double that at 1920. You could also make the merit requirement very high for this rank so it's only for the crθme de la crθme of users [OMG NAZI RANK ITS LIKE THE RICH KEEP GETTING RICHER].
Not implemented.
• Additional perks for Legendary accounts or a higher rank if added (for example: custom title, image banner in signature, clickable link in personal text, access to exclusive sub board etc).
Not implemented.
• A captcha added to deleting a post.
Not implemented.
• Disallowing lower ranks from posting in Off Topic (this is bitcoin forum, why would they head to that board straight away other than to easily farm their accounts (alternatively, posts not counting towards postcount or activity there would also work).
Not implemented.

• If a post is removed then so is any merit awarded (I think some users are deleting posts to hide evidence of abuse).
Not implemented.

• More advertisement slots. This forum is badly under-monetised in my opinion and we likely lose hundreds of thousands in lost revenue to signatures and lack of ad slots and visibility.
Not implemented.
No. Or not yet. Or the idea would need to be significantly modified.
1766  Other / New forum software / Re: Epochtalk installation readme on: February 18, 2020, 10:09:55 AM
Thank you so much, this will be much easier for all those who want to test run the forum. Out of smerit Sad Sorry.
I really hope that this guide will push forward the Epochtalk project and finally we can migrate to the new platform. I will share this link to my twitter, not so many followers, but anyway we have to spread the word. Smiley

This thread deserves a pin to the top!!! Please any mod to do it.

Thank you guys I appreciate your support. Hope theymos will consinder my application soon, out of smerit again.

I support this application. Iasenko has been a valuable member of the forum and was able to find good post. I believe he is always good to everyone. Let's do everything in his style.

Thanks but somehow you missed this Let's do everything in his style thing, probably that's why you are now banned.
Thanks suchmoon for the cool add-on, now I can spot all the banned users in a second Smiley
1768  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exchange managed to lose 7000- 13000 BTC in Non Payment?(BTC downtrend reason?) on: February 18, 2020, 09:39:12 AM
There should be some kind of regulation, everyone can create an exchange and then just steal the funds, like what we see here.
We are taking here about 125 000 000$ with the current exchange rate, and this is considered a small exchange. As much as I hate regulations, there should be some kind of order, otherwise people will continue to distrust the bitcoin (and crypto in general) and we are riding away from the mass adoption.

Bitcoin is simply the biggest, most popular Crytocurrency in the market right now. It has earned it's position by ushering in a new era of anonymous transaction ever known.

While the are people who says that Bitcoin is untenable and is not very a valuable investment option.

LET'S LOOK AT THE REASONS WHY BITCOIN HAS BECOME POPULAR

The first and foremost reason is anonymity.                                           Bitcoin allows users to send money to any place in the world at minimum cost and that gains it self (Bitcoin) an achievement.
The second is stability.                       Despite the up's and down's of it's (Bitcoin) values, it is still relatively stable than some other currencies in the world which experiences hyperinflation.
The third is Time.                                Bitcoin might not be the fastest but it is certainly a score faster than other non anonymous flat currencies.
Security.                                               Bitcoin is definitely one of the most secure Crytocurrency we have right now. And with thousands working to keep the dozens from starling the money from the millions, it's likely to stay that way.
Since Bitcoin use complex technology, it cannot be outsmarted by any knuckle head. You will actually require some serious skills to make a digital heist.

In short, Bitcoin has definitely shown us that Crytocurrencies have a lot of potential and it's an inch close in becoming a reliable investment mode. The is no denying that if it continues evolving like this it will attract more counterparts and then it will be right on top.

Thank you

1770  Other / Meta / Re: Cleaning up the house in Bitcoin/ Altcoin/ Gambling Discussion boards on: February 18, 2020, 08:24:59 AM
Isn't it a bit better now at least in the Bitcoin section? Last few weeks I reported a few threads that were actually made for discussing altcoins.
On the other hand there are still topics created by fresh accounts that hare even shorter that one liners with boring (already discussed 1000 times) subjects. You can't stop this.

I don't visit the Altcoin section, except when there is a shitpost in patrol which have to be reported.
1771  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 18, 2020, 07:49:09 AM
Hi again,

have found another glitch:

https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=Timelord2067 returns a valid page.

https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?id=Timelord2067 does not:

The second link is wrong, should be :
https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?id=131361

The id prefix should cointain your Bitcointalk ID not Username. Where did you find that link, on bpip?
So when you see p= be sure there is a username
p=Timelord2067
When you se id= then there should be an Bitcointalk ID.
id=131361

Haha, Satoshi Nakamoto is a banker. Sounds very credible for sure... and pastor Shocked. Pastor only for the Devil, preaching his scammy Altcoin.
How about i proclaim myself as a God and demand you stop breathing my air because I invented it, or I'll sue you.
1773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and cryptocurrency mining virus on: February 17, 2020, 02:33:14 PM
Interesting, the OP just registered to ask this question and never returned after that. Seems like the account was created with the sole purpose to make thread for generating posts.
Don't you guys ever check how legit is the OP when you posts comments?? It's very fishy.
1774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy on Friday and Sell on Monday on: February 17, 2020, 11:39:58 AM
You can't relate to that, as a strategy. Well you can buy on monday 17.02.2020 and sell it on that monday where you have made a profit (if you ever do a profit), it this case you can be right. If you don't make your own TA, you just gonna end up as the other.. broke.
If the bitcoin price goes down under 5K again, I'll buy no matter what day it is Smiley
1775  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 17, 2020, 11:01:42 AM
One suggestion for when you have time.
Those accounts that wake up in the security log, can be listed to be parsed as well, so accounts like this one below should not be marked as inactive while they were active just a few days ago.
Quote
Last Parsed: 46 days  (Planned for 43 days from now)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=123376

Maybe you can parse an account only when this account becomes active. If it gets banned during that time it will appear in the modlog together with the deleted posts by mods.
The merit data is reflected in the merit log.
The only thing that can be changed is the post count ( if a thread gets trashed or posts are deleted in a self-moderated thread).

if I do not like the way of talking to me and if I ask the other guy to act with manners then if the guy was taught a little bit manners in school or from family then they will listen and act normal as a gentleman do.
Use the Ignore button, problem solved. You can't possible expect everyone on the internet to be nice to you.
This forum gives users the freedom to be as rude as they want, just like it gives anyone else the freedom to be as nice as they want. Enjoy the freedom to choose your style, but let others enjoy the same freedom.

All you're doing now is making didtmansayabadword.tk/ very active

On the other hand if you haven't been called at least once a "f@king cunt" by TMAN, then you are not really active in this forum.
Don't take things too serious here, it's just a forum filled with some anonymous nerds often with IRL communication issues (like me for example Tongue) which you can't take serious.
C'mon be a grown ass man/woman (or whatever is politically correct nowadays, i don't follow the latest trends , u know real life comm issues) and just leave it be. No need to go for "... but Mr.Police Officer, he called me a Fatman!..."
Like Mr.AI (Idk how is politically correct to address an AI, so apologies if I fucked up here) said use the frikin' ignore button.

1779  Other / Meta / Re: Add link to the rules in the PMs for deleted posts. on: February 14, 2020, 11:53:57 AM
The rules are quite strictly enforced here even tho they are not official ones, but then just don't call them rules, maybe only guidelines how to avoid their posts to be deleted and direct them the unofficial rules. I know that theymos (following the satoshi's legacy) won't make an official rules, but we need to refer to something at least as a guide for the new ones here.
1780  Other / Meta / Add link to the rules in the PMs for deleted posts. on: February 14, 2020, 11:19:51 AM
Question: Which user rank gets most to the posts deleted by the mods?
Answer: For sure those are the newbies.

^This is just my assumption based on my report stats. But in any case a link to the Rules in the PMs we get from the Forum regarding deleted post, would really increase the newbie awareness.
For the spammers, we really don't care, but there are some genuine newbies, quite confused sometimes, if we can manage to keep them easily informed is the best we can do.

The PM from the forum is like a warning, you did something wrong. But the users most of the times are like What the hell did I do wrong? The best thing we can do is just to show them what they did wrong but it's not easy for every single person, instead we can just guide them to the rules, and they can find themselves what they did wrong.

Here how the message looks now :
