Well well well. I had a nice big bet on City at SB and that lost, but I dont' mind saying that was actually a hedge against a 14/1 bet on Saints elsewhere, which I did double down on a 7/1 to qualify, so I'm happy with the result.

It's always profitable to bet against City.

There is also a small matter of a $10 freebet on any Arsenal/Southampton $50 bet with min 1.5 odds on SB so I'm still going to get a bit of joy from that hopefully.

Nice to know Pep won't be enjoying another free pass on EFL trophy, amazing Saints performance today!

All right. Finally, finally made my team changes. Actually only took out two, and played some risky last-chance keeps on guys like Grob (can't spell his name right now) heh heh.

Darwin finally in my team, next to Haaland, and I've chucked out poor Trent in favour of Robbo.

Seems pretty tempting to put in City players but I wonder if United is the better form team?

Haha, yeah, that's the voice of reason. 8 major guys on your treatment bed is normally not such a terrible thing for a Prem League team but it's always going to bite deep into a team reliant on its best players and the Foxes happen to be one of them.

I've now since switched my pick to Iheanacho, as it really doesn't look like we get a surprise. What? Not Vardy? Yeah, because I see now the main man is also not fully sharp but has made great supplies for others to finish.

Anyone realise next round of games is on Valentine's day?

1 month and 3 days away. Can't wait!

This is an awkward moment for him, but this is reality, and this is what it is. It would be interesting if the person with the most points in the next round received the cold wallet; this is just my opinion.

That would be interesting, agree, but I'd rather everyone have an "equal" chance of being randomly chosen -- but allow me to figure out something in the meanwhile to add a bit of spice to that.

Speaking of most points in the next round, I've just been notified that something is in the works to move along the yellow cap rewards, just so you all know nothing has been forgot Wink

Steve, amazing promo and watching with Kanu? Damn. If I were a Gooner...

Interesting fact, unfortunately heavily influenced by the fact Arsenal was much better team troughout the history. Last couple of years it was the other way around but I don't remember if they played then.

Great game, and I am expecting some mouth watering football in it.

By the way Saka got injured in their last cup game. He walked off the pitch so hopefully nothing serious.

Yeah, they've not ever won against City in the league but Pep has already lost twice to Arsenal in FA Cup, both semis -- to different managers (Wenger and Arteta). City just haven't found a way to master KO competitions (does league cup count, nah).

Didn't know about Saka injury, would be a shame if that disrupted his current hot streak.  Def agree with you you never (as a manager) risk someone like that and it's actually their job to protect these assets. Treasures I would even say in Saka's case. Klopp's very clear and I think Pep's the same, they would rather have players mad at them then risk them injured and you know there are always players who insist

I just haven't watched enough football this season to even attempt predictions this side of the year. I've been away too much in the last few months. Liverpool are incredibly unreliable, and I'm not even sure what's the problem since I haven't been able to watch many of the games. I'm looking forward to the end of the season, so I can start anew in the next season. Since, I honestly don't know much about this season across the teams.

Seems Manchester United, and Arsenal have recovered from a few years of poor performances. City seem a little less consistent this year, and a little less dominant, but I can't be sure in that.

Have managed to watch most of Liverpool and actually a great deal of World Cup, but have definitely not been able to watch other games or keep up with developments. Real life has a really nice way to get into the mix and it's not that I don't have time mostly, just not the availability to sit down and get into it.

My take on Liverpool:
- complete physical shellshock from last season's exertions that they have not had the chance to recover from (only a real holiday can rest that deep fatigue).
- injuries to main plan has forced makeshift attack
- Nunez unlucky. Now, I'm the first to say a flop is a flop but I watch this guy and he creates chances out of nothing and puts himself in incredible positions. Yes his finishing seems off, but he tries majority from outside the box or just on the edge. It's not like say, Sterling or Havertz who get so close and finish badly after being served on a plate.

Man Utd is creeping up the board too... 20 wins from 29 this season is impressive, given their troubles. Arsenal too. I put both down to high performing players (Rashford and Saka come to mind).

Harko, sitting at the top, not bad. I have to start remembering now who's following who and who's good so I can sidebet on them next season. I'm doing awful across the board. Want to blame my busy schedule but should probably just admit I'm crap.

Day after tomorrow's big game (edit, I thought today was Thursday haha). BTTS for sure? or Juve 1-0 @Trofo?

You never know what happens to a team after they lose a no-lose streak!

Or maybe chainanalysis is so strong that it can unmix the mixed coins, so even if the thief did everything correctly, the funds will be tracked.

As I understand, mixing is not formally proven to break the connection between coins, it's just that no one has managed to demonstrate the opposite so far. But chainanalysis companies have been working on it all these years, so there's a possibility that they will come up with a solution or maybe already have. It could be probabilistic - it may not work for every output, and sometimes provides false results.

I know this might come back to bite me in the ass but I've always held the belief that these companies don't know more than developers (I frequently bring up the Chainalysis whistleblower case several years back who confirmed that they were selling software that couldn't do better than what an armchair sleuth would find on public tools).

I'm sure there will get better.

why do you you think there are some malicious idiots trying desperately hard to get innocent normal people into using privacy enhanced tools even if privacy enhanced tools are things that will definitely get innocent peoples funds noticed more (flagged as suspicious)

Forget malice, ignorance and carelessness too. When I first started p2p selling, some guys got so lazy they gave me an exchange or even casino address and that might "taint" me just by sending them even though I specify to give a clean personal one.

It was so important even in Asia that before satelite tv came with all the live shows, national TV and radio even broadcast FA Cup programmes including prematch discussions and it was a big thing that everyone would play to win.

It changed after Champions League qualification was more "valuable" than FA Cup (which doesn't qualify you).

Also lower side PL teams prefer to fight survival (and keep earning more money) than to win FA Cup.

I definitely think some teams no longer value this cup.
FA cup has history on its side, it is the oldest national competition in the world, only football of course. It still has a lot of charm, but money took away a lot from FA cup. It just doesn't pay nowhere near the money European places in the Premier League and it is normal that clubs prioritize that.

Man that really brought memories. I didn't know much about football outside my country until late 1990s but my grandfather would always watch the live FA cup games in the 80s. "Road to Wembley" program every weekend if I recall correctly and indeed, the only foreign club games you could watch on TV in those days but they all played past midnight so I wasn't allowed to stay up. But you could hear the music and the commentary and I imagined it anyway.

That theme song still plays fresh in my mind. Just looked it up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYFu3cbdnuU. All us kids would sing that song before we played football or pretended to lift a trophy. Not World Cup. Not any other cup. But the English FA Cup haha.

Dunhill sponsored so much football in those days even in my country.

Honestly, I still watch it as much as I can but I'm even watching League Cup haha. And when I was in the UK some years back, I still enjoyed watching the pre-match programmes, even the build up, days before. So I think it's definitely a generational thing. Nostalgia. My kid doesn't give a rat's ass about it even when his team plays.

Would love to win it again, but would love even better for some none PL team to get it. We honestly don't really deserve it... playing the kids until the semifinal/finals heh.

I like mk4's copypasta haha but yeah, I've always been an Andreas Antonopoulos fanboy. Have to admit I haven't heard his new stuff since 2021 at latest, so can't say but it was his books (collection of lectures) that really got me reading Bitcoin in 2016. Wish I'd found them earlier.

Just something to mention... and I know we're only talking about Bitcoin but these days, my work takes me into a lot of learning in this area, and I've been really struggling to find a way to help a newcomer easily detach or expand on from Bitcoin education into "everything other than Bitcoin" learning. This mainly because the way Bitcoin works is almost completely different from everything else parading as "the same thing but better".

From an education point of view, especially with kids and newcomers all using some form of non-Bitcoin wallet, now I try to see learning starting with Bitcoin and understanding classical crypto or classical blockchain (which is required fundamental) and then everything else is... modern crypto/blockchain (which is required for soon-to-be non-financial mainstream use).

2nd half of the season, people. And I've entered a few names I've really missed from the squads (St Maximin, Antonio... I almost put even Maddison). They were "injury doubts" during EFL games, so I'm expecting they might at least play some role if the return from injury and I probably shouldn't risk all 3 so left out Maddisson but let's see what happens with news before the first game on Thursday.

^^ Yeah, the good old days when you could pick your outright. Better still were the good old 30/1 or 15/1 specials on straight sets and such. Made a lot and Bitcoin wasn't at ATH then.

Not really a good tennis bettor but when I had time, used to bet live on the favourite after going down a set (or against them when they're a set up and this will be what I do on Nadal if I'm online during his matches). Seems much more value odds especially if you catch a great swing.

Arsenal vs Manchester City in the FA Cup 4th round, mouthwatering clash, be nice to see if they can top our win vs City last year in the semifinal. I remember we ended HT with 3-0 but almost let them back in. Man, I miss Mane.

Good news for the Sportsbet partner: each time Gooners met Citizens in FA Cup for the past 100 years, they went on to win the final!

Cue SB specials... hint nudge Wink

Yay Atalanta and Verona, 2 much needed close points to keep me... in 14th hahaha

@KTChampions And probably my worst of all (has it been 3 or 4 seasons already Trofo?). I don't even know what I'm doing these days heh.

@casperBGD Should have paid attention to your post earlier, Lazio did indeed do the funny and threw away 2 points. Game was turning out so well for me too.

P.S. Match highlight I saw earlier spelled Ciro's name as Cyrus several times. Never seen that before, and it was Italian sounding commentators too...

Second, I see a bit of a privacy dillema here with Luke trying to find the thieves. If he succeeds, despite mixers and coinjoin, it would mean that Bitcoin privacy is not good enough to protect you from adversaries. What should Bitcoin (I'm talking about the whole ecosystem, not just the protocol) future look like - weak privacy that can be broken with certain effort, or complete privacy that protects everyone, even criminals?

I'm not sure I see it this way (not a dilemma anyway)... If everyone only used Bitcoin without exposing people, then only parties in a transaction know each other (and this isn't even necessary).

The theft being announced immediately identified one party and then the thief (or at least, put him on the radar).

If Luke succeeds, it only means that they (the thief) did not know how to use (limited) privacy-enhancing features or was unaware of how Bitcoin works (not likely one might think, but hey Silk Road).

I'm thinking of past thefts that were easily tracked here.

If he fails, I see it only to do with the success of the privacy-enhancing measures the thief would have taken (mixing, coinjoin, etc).

Re the future, I thought privacy was already the current development focus of Bitcoin (seemingly moving on from scalability)?

Yeah, lost Real Madrid but upped my ante on Barca, and it paid off pretty well. Was almost tempted to go on half time win too, but was afraid of a late winner, in the end, covered losses and ended up with as good a game as any. Funny thing: boosted odds live around 10th min (when I placed it) was 2.43 but in Betbuilder pre-match, I needed to pair Barca win plus over 4.5 booking points to get the same odds. Match gave a lot more than that of course but only after 87th min!

Oxford vs Arsenal tonight & sportsbet.io sponsored, PL leaders Arsenal take on Oxford in a proper old fashioned FA Cup tie. Arsenal will obviously go in as favourites but away from home with probably Arteta making a few changes, Oxford will be up for it. It could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Oxford players.

What do you think guys?

Arsenal are such heavy favourites I didn't even like the handicap offers, but might check live lines out or closer to game on Betbuilder and plenty of player stats picks like I tried in World Cup (if available).

After the heroics of Stevenage and Wrexham, Oxford will be fancying their chances.

Gooners way too good though and they'll have Saka on bench am sure at least to rescue the game if needed.
