2701  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Pekeng Bitcointalk forum on: October 17, 2019, 02:33:44 PM
2702  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible for a token creator to take back the tokens sent to someone on: October 17, 2019, 01:49:12 PM
It depends on the token. Bitcoin, no. EOS, yes. Others, maybe.
Well, technically if the token is bitcoin, the creator cannot because bitcoin is backed by blockchain and blockchain is designed to have irreversible activities and it will be hard to get back the token if you'll do it alone without the knowledge of whom you sent it and not request them to give it back to you. But if the token isn't bitcoin, anythibg is possible depending on the smart contract. If certain people implemented that tokens they distributed during they campaign mught be taken back once unused, they probably can.
2703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't put your full trust on exchanges regarding scam projects. on: October 17, 2019, 12:54:22 PM
There is a saying, "Not your private key, Not your coins".

I many messed up with exact wording but the statement is very similar. Good one OP.
I personally prefer mixers over exchanges because exchange requires you to provide your informations and if you decline, you won't be able to use it. I find it very risky because trusting now a days is a very dangerous thing especially if it involves large amounts for everyone is being greedy over everything profitable, they even have interest with non-profitable assets out of their greed. That's why remove the gullibleness out of your body and mind for you are also removing the risk along with it.
2704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Save Yourself From, "Wallet Scammers". on: October 17, 2019, 10:10:56 AM
This actually usually happens in some airdrop and targeted newbies that isn't familiar on it.

They even ask my private key if I would share my private key then they would have the full power to control my Wallet.
This is ridiculous yet funny, they're now being straight forward in their motives and really thinks that there's a lot of stupid people.

Quote
So be careful from the attackers.
I really don't join airdrops especially it's worthless nowadays.
Beginners or their so called newbies must take note of this kind of scamming techniques because scammers know who's vulnerable and who's not and they know that the newbies are the ones who's so gullible and naive of the whole crypto space system and are easy to fool with mind toying words. The scheme is very suspicious as soon as the email asked for the private keys of the user, they should know that they should just ignore it once suspicions arise.
2705  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Banks are Blocking funds? From Exchangers on: October 17, 2019, 07:17:14 AM
If you receive funds from cryptocurrency Exchangers to your bank account the bank can block your funds?

This is really true guys?  Or its a just rumour?
Well, banks are centralized institution, meaning you need to obey them for you to manage staying and keeping your account on their custody. Banks has their terms and condition which you need to abide, some banks includes restrictions that involves using bitcoin, and as for your question regarding banks blocking your funds because of exchangers, you might have missed reading the policy of the bank that restricts cryptocurrency causing your funds to be blocked.
2706  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Mining o Trading? on: October 16, 2019, 02:46:11 PM

Base to base scenario kasi yan:

Mining - madami ako old friend nakilala na may malaking bitcoin mining dito sa pinas at still ngayun in progress pa din at patuloy ang kanilang mining, protibale ba o hindi? na more than a year ng miner.

2707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: retrospective of your thoughts on: October 16, 2019, 01:58:04 PM
Would be nice to start a conversation of your first thoughts about bitcoin. When did you read about it the first time? Did a friend tell you about it or what happened? What was your first thoughts and what is the change in your mind of this topic today?

The first time i was confronted with bitcoin, a friend told me about it. He told me it is a new currency, but he did not understand how it works or how to get it. So we started to watch a youtube video to understood this new thing. No one of us understood the technical part, but it sounds really interesting. After some days we talked again about it and both of us was infected with Bitcoin.
I think there is no change about this topic for me because there are to many new things to read or talk about. maybe it is more worse than the first days, but i like to inform me and read news about this topic. i do not know if this is for ever, but today i love bitcoin and hope there will be a day we all could pay with it at a supermarket daily.

At first I don't have enough knowledge about bitcoin. But once I tried and i learned a lot and I gain so much experience about earning money. But you shouldn't see bitcoin as a ladder to become rich. Just use bitcoin in faster and effective transactions.
I also don't have any clue about bitcoin during the day that I've heard about it. It was in the middle of 2018 and I started hearing a few passive conversations of my classmates involving bitcoin. Yes, I got curious but didn't bother to do a research about it, all I actually knew is that they are earning a lot with this bitcoin thing and I don't know how it happens, what they are doing and such until an event pulled me into getting to know bitcoin more and what was it about realizing that bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and has more complexity than the traditional currencies.
2708  Economy / Economics / Re: Another good news for cryptocurrency in the Philippines on: October 15, 2019, 06:16:27 PM
Iloilo properties for sale accepts crypto as payment

These properties are owned by cryptocurrency proponents who believe that a conversation on making cryptocurrencies a viable payment option should start.

The owners are both cryptocurrency proponents, and told CoinGeek that they believe that a conversation towards seeing cryptocurrencies as a viable payment option should start.

The owners also said that another reason why they accepted cryptocurrency payments is because of their plan to have the proceeds from the sale of the properties allocated into a cryptocurrency investment.

What a great news, I keep reading and stumbling across news like this, just earlier I've read that a small tech shop in the philippines is accepting bitcoin as payment, considering that it's just a small scale business but is very accepting and has adapted cryptocurrency, is a good sign that bitcoin or cryptocurrency is paving its way through the smallest after making an impression to big businesses. And now, this news just proves that the catalysts of massive adaptation of bitcoin is now increasing and nothing, even the life status can stop it.
2709  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Investing on cryptocurrency is too hard for others on: October 15, 2019, 05:39:14 PM

While surfing online, luckily found the common reason why Filipinos are not investing specially on cryptomarket.

But here's my personal opinion about this topic:

2710  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Muli natin bisitahin ang Phishing at iba't ibang uri nito. on: October 15, 2019, 05:10:42 PM

2711  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BOUNTY SCAM!!! on: October 15, 2019, 04:22:59 PM
Stop joining bounty campaign that promises a huge amount of bounty allocation because they are surely scam. Most of the legit IEO or ICO don't the bounty campaigns anymore since before they start the project. They have already private investors to ensure the project. Sadly when I check the altcoin section. I think I saw on less than project that seems legit bounty campaign which not guarantee that there token value will be high when list on exchange.

For the mean time. Try to avoid joining on bounty campaigns or join only on bounty campaigns that manage by experienced bounty manager. In this way the risk to join on scam project will be minimize.
If he stop doing bounty campaign, will he be able to be investing in bitcoin or altcoin? It's better for you to start investing on legit project than doing nothing. Nobody knows when the altcoin season will start. Been a bounty hunter is never easy but you gat to keep pushing, even though you see no good result
Most of the members of the forum are into having an income, be it looking for tips about how to trade or bounty hunting, they are into the money that they will get. And for them not to be scammed by fake campaigns, they should open their eyes wide open and watch out for red flags that might be seen to every promising campaign that also comes to the point that it was unrealistic. Their common sense will save themselves.
2712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New scam technic on Telegram. on: October 15, 2019, 04:04:05 PM
Well telegram is the heaven for scammers.
You can change username
You can delete conversations from both side

I thing these two are too annoying feature in telegram and people abuse it a lot. The technique you have seen is not new at all. I have seen them before several times.

Vigilance is the most powerful sword we can have against scammers and fakes for they've been around and is spreading their crimes, acting like the viruses and bacterias on your doorknobs waiting for you to touch it and stick to your hands and travel whenever your hands will land on. Taking a look at everything and being extra careful and scrutinizing isn't a big thing and won't cost u anything so do as it is for your own safety and protection.
2713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't get tricked by hidden spam on this forum on: October 15, 2019, 03:25:32 PM
We all know to not click on any suspicious links, and on this forum spam usually gets deleted pretty quickly. However, there's a special kind of spam links that often stays for longer periods of time.
It usually looks like the following:

Code:
Has anyone tried this service?
*link to the service or just name of the service*

By making it look like the original poster isn't promoting the service but merely asking people's opinions about it, such thread generates much more clicks and genuine replies than the usual spam link that gets deleted after a few minutes. The sites that are spammed in this way are usually the same scams, ponzi's, phishing and malware sites.

Here's some tips for distinguishing genuine questions from hidden spam:
1. OP is a brand new account.
If OP is a fresh account, they probably were registered with sole purpose of starting this thread.

2. The thread is created in incorrect section.
If you see such threads in board other than Service Discussions, it should raise a huge red flag.

3. The OP is very short.
Legitimate topics about services usually start with some small personal review or short description of a service. Spam threads usually start with just a single question like "Have you heard about X?".

What to do if you encountered such thread

1. Do not click on any links or visit the site that is mentioned by googling it.
2. Do not reply to the topic, unless to warn other users about suspicious activity.
3. Report the thread to moderators.
Newbies or beginners should take note of this because they are solely prone to be victims and targets of hidden spams for people behind it knew that newbies are so naive and innocent about what's really in this forum and are exploring and wants to test everything. Once and for all, everyone should think like they are the spammer or let's say the criminals in crypto world so they can foresee and hesitate to visit links provided in threads.
2714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let's stand against Bounty Scammer. on: October 15, 2019, 02:45:51 PM
As my title says, "Let's stand against bounty scammer". Do you know what is bounty scammer? Those project doesn't want to distribute stake of bounty hunters, I called them Bounty scammer.

It's been noticed lot of project just skipping after end of campaign. They even trying to listing their project on big exchange like Binace. (For example Vidy project) but they failed on voting fortunately. They scam bounty hunters mean had not paid stake. We can't take any action against them since all the fund on their hand. But I am upset about that, any bounty hunters not made sound against them. Some others who isn't victims they are making sound.

Bounty hunters ! You are the one who is promoting a project via Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Telegram, YouTube and some other social media. But after posting (spamming) on social media all hunters just become freeze. They forget about projects those they had promoted. They just care whatever they received. So why are you spamming on this forum and other social media if you can't ask them about your stake? Who is scammer I have no comment about them like fake team and so on, but those project is live and trading on some exchange then you might take some action against them.

Bounty scammer just not scammed you, they are scamming new peoples continuously. They are selling your token through exchange. Their intention isn't good, so they will just sold their token those are holding with them. Means listing on exchange is another opportunity to scam more peoples. Once their all token will sold out they will become freeze and token price will dump to near ZERO. Means so many traders will counter scam once again.

So what you would do? You also responsible for that scam. Who know how many peoples were invested on that scam project by visiting your post on social media. If like that happen you might take some action against. Post against bounty scammer like when you had posted during boulty campaign. Write against them and use hash tag like #scam and so on. Make thread against them on this forum and do free bounty once again against scammer. Write to the exchange where trading currently about their history. Write on exchange's social media so everyone will aware about their corruption. And trader will not fall into their project. Almost 10K to 15K user promote bounty campaign. So if all users make sound against bounty scammer and write social media then so many peoples would save their money and hunter also might get back their token when the project will see sound against them.  Only hunters could so that. You promote them free so write once again against them free. Show them you can do, tell them you were a part of their projects.

Perhaps my post will look like unrealistic to some peoples, but hunters could made it.

We can't actually blame bounty hunters to do what is needed for they are being paid for their service which is promoting, spamming and such. Most of bounty hunters are entering and participating campaigns because of the need for financial income, and thinking about the bigger picture of what might be the effect of their actions doesn't stand a chance to go against their way.
People don't actually care about what is indirectly affecting them, as long as they achieve what they want and provide their needs, anything else will be irrelevant.
2715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't become Bounty Hunter! on: October 15, 2019, 02:14:01 PM
It is sad to see many come to this forum and the first thing they do is participate in bounty campaigns because someone told them they could make money that way. In most cases, such campaigns pay in some rather worthless tokens or pay nothing at all.

You wonder how it is possible to work for months and advertise a particular company/project in your signature or with social networks and to get nothing?
The reason is very simple, they (owners) take advantage of the gullibility of people and the fact that something is presented on this forum, but this does not mean that anyone guarantees you that you will be paid for your work.

I put bounty hunting in category of big time-wasting, even bigger then claiming on faucets - today you at least get pay instantly in 90% of faucets on your microwallet account.

I'll give you an example of how one bounty campaign is ended, only partially happy for some participants and only because some members start to ask owners to finally pay. Some users still beg for the money, so be smart and save your time - do you want to beg for your hard-earned money and that in the same time someone is calling you scammer&bot?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5173498.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5189378.0

I beg to disagree with your upbringings, it is always upon your hand if you're gonna go waste your time with campaigns that don't guarantee you anything cause prolly it's your responsibility to filter out campaigns that are worth participating than not. Your claim is hastily generalizing every campaign that can be found here when in fact, it just so happened that you just experienced some misfortunes then apply it on the general aspect, and technically you just can't for you might start some fuz and put legitimate campaigns at stake. SO if you've experienced some misfortunes and wasted your time with your chosen campaign, then it's not the whole forum's problem but yours to take responsibility of.
2716  Economy / Economics / Re: Public address complexity and economy of a coin on: October 15, 2019, 01:41:52 PM
Ok, do you think the complexity of public address affects the economy of a coin or a chain? For example, if bitcoin had an easy to remember the address, would it be adopted more readily? The same question is valid for ETH, of course.

People are irked by complex addresses and one of the reasons old folks are not into crypto is because everything is too complicated, as they are not computer age people like us. They like it simple and I tend to think that simpler addresses would help them adapt, and improve the crypto economy.
I found this site because a friend recommended it and all I did was enter my email and reserved a good name for myself. I am one of the people who missed the .com craze because I did not care to get a good domain name, although I could because I knew about it, now I am not gonna miss that one.

These things are first come first served, and usually (as in bitcoin), people who grab the good names first tend to get rich beyond belief.
So, what do you think? Can you beat me? My position =1, I am the number 1, the champion Smiley

Regardless of the generation they are born, be it a person from computer age or not, no one wants complexity as much as possible because everyone is after convenience and smooth sailing transactions. That's why technology keeps on innovating things, for people to have easier and seemless process of doing things and same goes with cryptocurrency. And I agree that just seeing how complex the address people that isn't fond of computers and codes will lose their interest in entering crypto space no more, making the adaption of cryptocurrency slower.
2717  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Collecting Bitcoin Donations with a recognizable address on: October 15, 2019, 01:02:00 PM
I had an earlier post about Chinese collecting bitcoin as payment and another post about Hong Kong free press collecting donations. One of the things was that they had to use the same darn address for collecting BTC. Now if the addresses for donations were more recognizable I think things would be a lot easier for them.
About two days ago I found this site that gives you a common name like BOB or BitcoinBull or CryptoBull for a bitcoin address. So, I am thinking that things would be easier for large organizations to collect money if they had recognizable names instead of a long string of numbers and letters. What do you think, would it make it easier, in terms of adoption?

Actually, the only disadvantage of having long strings of unrecognizable and is not convenient for memorization is, if it was altered by a malware or a virus to redirect the transaction the owner of the address won't be able to notice it because he, himself don't memorize his address. Having domain name is beneficial for security and assurance that you are doing your transactions very smooth and no threats for you know that the address was yours.
2718  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Access wallet addresses easily, without storing private keys or security phrases on: October 15, 2019, 04:04:10 AM
I'm pretty sure everyone has heard of that one person who's device was stolen, or their computer was hacked, stealing wallet addresses, private keys, and even security phrases. Well, that happened to me after someone broke into my hotel room and stole my work laptop.  Fortunately, before they could figure out how to withdraw the funds out of my wallets, I was able to extract the funds and send them to entirely new address, but the difficult part of this was remembering the addresses.  Storing the addresses seemed unlikely, since other secure information would also be stored in the same location.  All I really wanted to was keep an address book to help pay certain vendors and also make deposits into my own accounts.

I'm not sure why, but most wallets do not have an address feature.  Having a one stop shop for all your wallets just make the entire use case easier, and I believe it's that would help attract new crypto users to support the industry and it's movement.  An address book like Digital Names saved me a lot of time to pull up saved files and find the needed address.  Oh, and this is not limited to one specific blockchain, so you can have different wallet address like BTC, ETH, STEEM, ETC, and so on...
Beginners, of all people, are prone to this kind of crime for they are so naive about the process and what kind of system and approach could work in crypto space. They must assure themselves of the knowledge needed for them to survive what they are entering and of course, they must know who they could trust and rely upon, same goes with what platforms and third-party websites they should trust.
2719  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Money Losing Worth, Bitcoin and Gold Getting Important on: October 14, 2019, 04:54:29 PM

There are a lot of reasons to believe that the value of our fiat money is losing its real value. We have inflation eating into the worth of goods and services that our money can buy and although this can be controlled to a certain degree this can never be stopped nor eliminated from any economic system. Another major problem is the tendency of many central banks to just print more paper money (termed as quantitative easing which is nice to ears) and circulate them to the economy. Coupled with a high degree of economic and political uncertainties as well as lack of trust for the government, we can in an era uncharted and which repercussions can be felt in the coming years.

Quote

In a recent interview with the Swiss newspaper NZZ a, Sonntag, Mr. Gruebel explained that negative interest rates are having an adverse effect on fiat currencies. “Negative interest rates are crazy,” he said, adding “That means money is not worth anything anymore.”

Gruebel stated that as long as interest rates remain in place, the financial industry as a whole will continue to shrink. Last month, the European Central Bank (ECB) decided to cut interest rates to -0.5% and Marilyn Watson, global fundamental bond product strategy team head at Black Rock, explained that there is potential for interest rates to go more negative, especially in Europe and in Japan.

Countries such as Venezuela or Argentina are registering very high inflation rates. While Venezuela is currently in a hyperinflationary spiral, Argentina could shortly follow Venezuela’s steps. Populist governments are printing money trying to convince their populations that owning more coloured papers would make them wealthier.

This is where gold and Bitcoin (BTC) could eventually become important for society.

Source.

As the fiat money is losing its value, more and more people will realize that it is time to get into the Bitcoin bandwagon as a way to partially protect their wealth and investments. That time is coming soon. We who are the pioneers in cryptocurrency have many things to thank for that we are involved at the right time.

Fiat only has value because the government said so and the investors agreed for it to have any value. Now that bitcoin and gold is emerging and has true value, people tend to patronize it more not only because of it's value but also because of the volatility and as for bitcoin, it's freedom from the grasp of the government that might control it just like what they are doing to traditional money. People are starting to see more potential and opportunity to make a profit out of gold and bitcoin making them leave fiat behind.
2720  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Cryptocurrency threatens governments on: October 14, 2019, 04:19:04 PM
Over the years cryptocurrency  has evolved into a global currency but governments are trying to sweep it's relevancy under the carpet. We all know that the eyes of the community are now opened to the importance and blockchain technology.

What baffles me is why are the government making lives difficult by banning or limiting it's use? Is it because it threatens the political power or are they scared it will improve the global economy or force the traditional banks to reduce their ridiculous interests rate which we have been robbed of for decades now.

What is your take on this and what do you think will make governmental bodies to finally accept crypto?
Main reason is cryptocurrency's decentralization. Cryptocurrency's freedom of will to have the control over itself threatens the power of the government to have the upper hand over everything especially about money. That's why there are countries that are completely against cryptocurrency because it makes people somehow separate from the grasp of the government, making the latter lose access of the money.
