BitShares
Wouldn't be bitcointalk if someone didn't show up to pump their favorite off topic coin.

This project has been really fun to watch evolve. When I have time, one day I will definitely open an account and try and own some land in Crypto Kingdom If you want land, the time to buy it is just NOW! Everyone is tired and overextended and you can buy a chaperly (15,000 sqm) for 1,000 XMR, and smaller lots as well, really affordable prices. We made the decision to limit the size of CryptoTown to 225 chapelries (of which only part is buildable land), so in some time, all will be taken. The town consol rates indicate that the trust that the game will continue, is high: 32.5% per realyear. So in the case you think the game will stay, you have plenty of good investments: land, CKG, CON, collectibles, NPC, and soon: Buildings! Just contact saddambitcoin to have a FOC set up for you! The ideal investment for a non-player is S-HODL. Full reinvestment of dividends with no ongoing management required. As simple as 1-2-3: 1. Buy 2. HODL 3. Profit?

Hello I am quite late here but I am mining it now through minergate i want to withdraw my earnings but I can find where I can download the desktop wallet can any one send me the link to download I am using windows x32
Here are unofficial binaries by Arux (bottom of page #122) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=641696.msg12901324#msg12901324You will need to sync the blockchain and remember that the wallet is CLI (command line interface) there is no working GUI (graphical user interface) at this time, so you may need to learn how to use the commands. If you cannot find a daemon/wallet use how-to within this forum, google search for a Monero how-to it will be the same. Hope this helps. I remember someone built an unofficial GUI a while back. Have not tried it or heard about anyone else trying it though. Also, @robelneo 32 bit Windows is not usable. I had hoped the pruning branch would reduce memory usage enough to make it work, but it was still not quite small enough. You need 64 bit currently.

... The strong rise was artificial thus fake and the conclusions in that article don't apply. There weren't any real buyers behind that volume and move up in price.
If you wish to deny reality I am not going to stop you. The readers can take a look at the charts and form their own conclusions. Well on Valentine's weekend 5 million Monero exchanged hands. Think about that. Do you think 5 million Monero exchanged hands for a measly 10% gain, or just to dump again? Selfish or benevolent, that kind of sunk cost only creates an environment with future potential profits. I think there are a lot of people/bots engaging in short term trading and likely the same Monero traded many times.

@Shkembe
The activity here is a little confusing, so I'm not sure what to put on the OP.
Are you looking to sell at 0.00013999 and buying at 0.0001800?

./simplewallet --generate-from-view-key address:viewkey:filename
That is the way the view-only-wallet is created for simplewallet in linux command line. What is the command to create a full wallet by allready created nmemonic seed? ./simplewallet --restore-deterministic-wallet

Hashrate is going down - it will be profitable to mine again soon )) Regardless of profitability more people should help mine (and not from the same pool) Aeon if they believe in the project. Mining is essential to secure the network. Yes, but I'm also pretty sure it has become more profitable recently. The price is doing okay and the difficulty/hash rate is way down.

If you have coins out while someone is using your coins to short, the resulting squeeze could destroy your principal - even though you are explicitly long due to holding XMR in the first place.
You are trying to be long, yes. But what you are actually long is not XMR itself (which would mean holding the private keys), but someone else's promise to pay you XMR. This can contribute to a sort of waterfall black swan risk, since people who want to be long seeing their long exposure wiped out might induce them to try to replace it in the market, leading to even more short losses (on the other hand, the synthetic longs' losses may reduce demand due to negative wealth effect). Or you could just hold your private keys.

Big thanks to amoebatron and freenode! After discussions, Freenode has kindly granted ownership of IRC channel #aeon to the Aeon project. In a situation that mirrored the recent Reddit transfer, the #aeon channel was technically already registered to another party, but in effect had been dormant for over 10 years. Big thanks to Freenode (particularly tinyhippo) who facilitated the transfer. Please now point your IRC clients toward #aeon and gradually remove #aeoncoin from your collective conciousness. (For the record, we never actually controlled #aeoncoin either, so it's great that we now have an official IRC base.) http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=%23aeon https://www.reddit.com/r/Aeon/comments/47d3hb/big_thanks_to_freenode_aeon_is_now_aeons/First Reddit, now IRC. It has been a good week for Aeon. What will be the subject of the next announcement? My guess is LMDB, GUI or website. lmdb would be cool, it will help to get coin on more exchanges. No real work on GUI is being done I think and website... Not sure. Hashrate is going down - it will be profitable to mine again soon )) I think Smooth said that both GUI and LMDB were in active development Active, but slow. It is no secret that my available time is limited and the highest priority goes to urgent security updates and such. Nevertheless, both will happen in due time.

Short Dash, long Monero. The Dash bubble will burst sooner rather than later
Hard to say. "The markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent."

I'm with spartacusrex. The ultimate test is for someone to pull of one of these (theoretical) attacks and catastrophically and irreparably damage the network in some way, or at least prove that one of the attacks can be used to consistently and successfully attack the network and/or individual users. Until this test is completed, I'm going to assume that POS and other variations (DPOS) is sufficiently secure.
Also, it would be in everyone's best interest if POS was broken sooner rather than later while valuations are low. So please, if you have a guaranteed attack, go ahead and do it and prove POS useless.
I didn't read the whole thread so maybe this is covered but the reason* these attacks don't happen in practice is that none of the deployed chains actually operate as decentralized consensus systems. They are centralized in some manner with checkpoints, centrally signed blocks, etc. This makes them impossible to attack but it also makes them a sham. They're just centralized systems implemented in an inefficient way that gives the appearance of decentralization. * The other reason these systems aren't necessarily attacked is that attacking takes work, and often no one really cares (competent people have better things to do). Shadowcash was recently deanonymized due to a mathematical flaw that rendered their anonymity technique utterly and completely worthless, and which existed in their design for over a year, with a bounty offered. But the flaw was only discovered by accident. Apart from this accidental discovery, the flaw could easily have stayed there for years longer but that would not have made the system any less worthless. Do not assume that since something hasn't been broken yet, it is secure. That is completely wrong.

Mymonero.com used to accept 25 word seeds until a few days ago. I don't think mymonero.com accepts 25 word seeds any more. I can't get it to work. If this is right, then the only way to have a wallet compatible with both moneroaddress.org and mymonero.com is to do an import, which costs 10 xmr. Am I correct?
It should work. Fluffypony (mymonero admin) is at the Satoshi Round Table conference so he might not be able to respond right away. Try it again, maybe you typed it in wrong. If you already tried that Im sure someone else here will chime in with some advice. I just tested with a freshly generated seed from https://Moneroaddresss.org and it works. Also, you can still choose the "Don't import transactions" option. To clarify a bit, "import transactions" (and the 10 XMR fee) is only needed if you have used the wallet previously. For a brand new wallet, there will be no transactions so trying to import them is useless (unless you want to donate 10 XMR to fluffypony )

AFAIK (correct me if wrong), Poloniex does not hold the account owner personally at risk if the short game goes bust. According to their Terms of Use, they do hold the account holder responsible: If, after your positions and assets are liquidated, your account still contains insufficient funds to settle your debts to lenders, you will be responsible for any additional funds owed However, if the account holder doesn't pay, the risk then theoretically falls next on the lender: When you lend to other users using the Platform’s P2P lending system, you risk the loss of an unpaid principle if the borrower defaults on a loan and liquidation of the borrower's account fails to raise sufficient funds to cover his or her debt. In practice, I agree true black swan risks probably exist (aside from those that exist outside the lending system altogether).

sorry for the OT.
Am I the only one that has trouble reading the price when the trailing zeroes are omitted? Seen this in a few exchanges and multiple other places. I know there is mbtc etc which is eve more confusing to me. With BTC being worth as much as it is and most everything being priced under 1, I wish satoshis would be the norm without over complicating things with the other denominations. Of course when you're reading this stuff day in and day out it becomes second nature but that hasn't been the case with me.
Good suggestion. i'll add them.
