281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: September 11, 2015, 10:26:02 AM
For me "fair launched coins" are extremely stupid in the current situation ... I prefer the developers have enough money to get the development going.

Okay, then maybe the BCN devs should have been up front about having built BCN in 2013 and launched it in 2014 with a massive premine, instead of a fake blockchain, a bullshit story about two years in the deep web, and then trying to sell said story by manipulated press, trying to "slip it in" to Wikipedia, etc. and even now creating new zero-activity sock puppets to continue the same tired nonsense about "the probability of Bytecoin being launched in 2012 is not small".

Ethereum was up front about wanting money for development. They got $15 million ICO and nice premine on top. They didn't need to scam and neither did you. You chose to, and while it could possibly have worked, it is understandable you're now disappointed that it didn't and you got busted. Too bad. Go scam somewhere else.

It's better to be open up front.
282  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 within a month by a 2022 on: September 09, 2015, 01:08:23 AM
I tend to believe we will see much higher prices in the coming weeks. Not only from TA, but stock prices, and general financial problems around the world seem to indicate this is going to be a great time for Crypto currencies. Bitcoin keeps taking steps forward, and no one seems to notice how big the infrastructure is becoming. At some point we will see a giant leap forward. I still predict we will see that happen before the end of the year.

When there is a financial crisis, most assets price will drop. BTC will probably drop.

It's unbelievable that there are so many people will lose their mind when their leader disappears

In bitcoin world, there is no leader.

Dead?
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CREDITS [CRE] | SHA256 | SIDECHAIN | NEW BLOCK-DEPOSIT FEATURE | OFFICIAL THREAD on: September 02, 2015, 01:48:33 AM
When I put 500 credits as deposit in mining, all the 500 is taken as deposit, there is no change, is that normal? That is included in block 33338

Well, it's not wrong, but normally the system should add the newly mined coins as deposit automatically unless you disable it. If it isn't enough (which it actually isn't now, anyone mining without extra deposits will get a slight difficulty punishment), the miner will look for manually added deposit txs.

But there's nothing preventing someone from creating a large deposit tx and lock it all up. So you may have to wait a few months to get them back...

Did you create a deposit tx yourself with qt and run the miner? In that case the miner probably picked up the available deposit and added it. There's no warning if the deposit is "too" large.

To sum it up:
- If the miner doesn't have enough deposits to reach the requirement, it will look for manually created deposit txs to fill up to the required level.
- If reward as deposit is enabled, it will use the reward to get to an exact amount, and send the extra coins as deposit change.
- However, if a deposit tx is larger thatn the required amount, there's no way for the system to modify the deposit tx and send the extra amount as change. The deposit tx is not modifiable.
- The system can however modify the "reward deposit", since it creates it itself. Thereby it can add up to just the correct amount, and send the rest as change.

Example:
1. Required, 30 CRE, Reward 20 CRE, 1 manually created deposit tx with 25 CRE in it. The miner will then take the reward, add 5 CRE as deposit to fulfill the requirement, and add 15 CRE as change.

2. Required 30 CRE, Reward 20 CRE, 1 manually created deposit tx with 60 CRE in it. The reward is not enough to reach the requirement. The miner will then take the manually created deposit tx and add as deposit. Since the requirement is fulfilled it does not have to use the reward, which will be free for usage elsewhere. However, none of the 60 CRE added as deposit can be sent as change since the manually created deposit tx is unmodifiable.

Some modifications to the deposit system will be done to ease the deposit process in the near future.

Something needs to be done definitely. For example, a new miner buys 10,000 Credits and transfer to the wallet. He used it as deposit, in the hope it can lasts 1,000 block if the requirement for extra deposit is 10. Then he finds that 10,000 is taken away in one go and will not be able to use it for 15,000 blocks.

Probably Satoshi has already given its opinion without telling who he is.

That is the spirit. Satoshi has the same weight as other people.

288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin v. Bitcoin on: September 01, 2015, 02:42:23 AM
in terms of price, bitcoin is still better
but in trading, LTC may still be better

Volume of BTC is much bigger than LTC. So BTC is easy to trade, but LTC is easy to manipulate.
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP1xx DynamicMaxBlockSize on: August 30, 2015, 02:59:19 AM
The dynamic block size limit should not mean the block size go one way up only. The block size soft limit can be 2-3 times of the median of last 10,000 blocks. This limit can be breached to allow more transactions, but miner will get penalty of fees if they allow the block size to be over. That is similar to Monero (coin)
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts from Russia on the block size situation and Blockstream on: August 30, 2015, 02:12:31 AM
Block chain size has to increase to accommodate large transaction by people. If somebody wants faster transition, they can sidechain.
291  Other / Off-topic / Re: Complete the sentence... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..." on: August 30, 2015, 01:56:53 AM
If the price drops drastically because there is a fight between devs over the direction of Bitcoin.

That is the cause of recent drop.

I shall not support XT if it blacklists some ip address.

297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CYP] CYPHER [3 HARDCODED NODES][QUBIT][1MB][C-CEX - BITTREX - CRYPTSY] on: August 14, 2015, 04:56:05 AM
Well, their would be a large amount of work to make Cypher valuation increase dramatically!

You would need to hire some coders (pay them), to incorporate the encryption technology into the newer wallets with more than PC support e.g Android mobiles and maybe iphones. Aiming to make the sending and receiving encrypted messages between people who dislike Universal Surveillance as easy as installing a Cypher wallet on their device. This, itself, would need to innovated or changed into something that is useful and attractive to the crypto community in general.

Obviously, I've left a lot of finer points outs Wink

To make it worthwhile, I reckon a buy up of about 1.2 million to 1.5 million Cypher coins, would make financing of the coders a profitable long run investment for myself.

I'll probably be free, towards the end of 2015!

If, someone wants to takeover Cypher, before then, they are welcome to do it.

I hold 1,000,000 Cypher coins; I'm probably the biggest investor in this crypto Grin

If you hold 1M CYP, why you don't do a takeover hiring some coders to work on Cypher as you suggested two weeks ago?

Because, I don't want to sell my other crypto investments to pay for the coders.

I'm happy to wait, until 2016 - things move very slowly in crypto world and I'm in no rush Wink

If this coin does not have unique features and is not developed, it will die.
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 11, 2015, 01:35:17 AM
Monero still needs more volume... Bytecoin has more

lol

Volume in terms of btc, XMR is way more.

The price is still stable within a band, so there is no worries.
