281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I just woke up and saw wins in my gambling app on: March 10, 2024, 06:24:06 AM
With this your approach towards gambling, This strongly suggests that you have other sources of income and not hoping to earn a living from gambling, This is literally the best approach to gambling and not putting all your mindset on what will be the outcome, basically hoping on the positive result, just do the proper analysis you should do and stake your games, Then whichever way the result goes you take it with good faith. In as much as I expect to win my bets, I don't hope for the outcome to always favor me.
I think everyone no matter what's your social status is should be having that kind of principle, of not using gambling as a means to make a consistent money or to do it as a job because it just doesn't work, even if some of you might argue that there's profit to be had, the risk of losing is always much higher than the chances of winning.

What OP experienced is something that only many of us can hope for, it's not something that can happen to everyone so if you're going to see this as an inspiration to gamble, think again and check your vision and principle because it's heavily skewed with the delusion that it's going to work for you too.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling : Next Generation Challenges on: March 10, 2024, 04:49:28 AM
If they choose to develop by having VR in gambling, they can probably make their dream of making online gambling more sociable, it's already a thing so they've got no excuse that VR casinos can't be a possibility or a real thing because VR Chat exists and it's been a thing for a long time, you can probably even use that as your basis for creating your dream of a more sociable casinos. The scary thing about their dream is that they're targeting younger generations, you know, the one's that rely on mom and dad's money, I can only imagine what chaos in the household this kind of dream ensues.
283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Create a player list of rights on: March 10, 2024, 03:20:49 AM
Could work but wouldn't this get abused in some way? You know when people get creative and they're given the right to have suggestions, they'll wear their thinking cap on so they can do the things that would either benefit them or exploit the system or just to plain old troll the sites right? Not to mention that even if we carefully check the listed rights, would we be able to persuade sites to follow them? Because it's an informal documentation right? Like those petition websites.
284  Other / Meta / Re: Ban ragiceski as he continues to spam the legal board on: March 09, 2024, 02:54:32 PM
I tried to translate the text using Google Translate and got an incomprehensible result.
I assume that what happened is a programming error and not promoting spam.
The time interval between posts is an average of 6 minutes so something must have happened.
Overall, will be banned soon.
Most likely reason, when I did the translation by highlighting one line and then doing a translation on that one, it returned something that alludes to girls in hotels or something like that, it's probably a pornography related advertising or the Hangeul of Google translate is really bad.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many satoshis are there per person in the world? on: March 09, 2024, 01:51:23 PM
wealth distribution has always been unfair for everyone. when you are born poor and turn into a self-made millionaire, you have done your job well in improving your life. to people with less opportunity, this is just a struggle, this is why we tend to migrate to other countries to work for it.

the internet is not even available in some parts of the country so i don't expect the adoption to spread quickly not everyone having 0.002 BTC.
It's just a scale, it's not meant to be taken literally, it's supposed to show how big is the scale that bitcoin encompasses by showing us how much bitcoin there is by distribution to the population. Wealth distribution could've been fair in the past but humanity loves to make a statement and they want the glamour of status and so they end up with this kind of thing where everyone wants to race to the top and rule over those below you.

In regards to the Internet availability, it's going to be this way for a long time because if we try to go for the provision of Internet connectivity wherever you are, a lot of trees and mountains are going to be toppled because there's a need for signal towers and they can't just build those towers without harming the local faunas, so yeah, it's difficult to solve that issue.

Imagine if this ever happened though, I can only imagine what the price of bitcoin will be when this happens.
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you worried about the US Government moving BTC? on: March 09, 2024, 12:58:28 PM
Not ever, I've seen companies flood the bitcoin market back then and try to manipulate bitcoin price back then, US government isn't any better than those whales and institutional investors, they're nothing to us retail investors and long-term hodlers, they're not going to be a problem even if they move their bitcoins or sell of it. I'm more worried from the fact that I'm not getting paid enough in my work so I can invest more in bitcoin and still be able to pay the bills and some leeway to indulge myself.

I find it funny that people are always like this when whales or big money is involved in bitcoin, no matter what it does to the market, it's going to be just fine, no need to worry because if the price of bitcoin goes down because of them then it's good for you because that's an opportunity to buy cheaper bitcoins, get more bang for your buck.
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing into Bitcoin as self pension on: March 09, 2024, 10:59:18 AM
Do be careful about that idea OP, you don't want to end up with no money in your name when you retire or that you've got smaller than you'd expect to have amount of pension money, don't rely on bitcoin as your way of growing your pension, maybe diversification can help you but other than that, you've got to be crazy to just rely on bitcoin, can you even handle the possibility that you're going to be seeing your pension money going up and down whenever the market is experiencing issues and FUDs because you've got to be really strong and won't be easily swayed by these FUDs and short-term price drops if you're investing your pension on bitcoin alone and can you handle hodling for a really long time? Because that's what you're going to be doing all the time, no selling or withdrawing, just accumulating.

Have you also thought about how to store your bitcoins long-term? Because there's a case of obsoletion in technology and you don't want that bitcoin get locked out because your wallet isn't compatible with the latest technology at the time that you're selling to claim that pension.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake loses $615k bet on Joshua-Ngannou bout on: March 09, 2024, 09:20:21 AM
Wow, that's just a surprising thing to happen, a lot of people have been talking about the punching power of Ngannou and it seems that it's not enough for a veteran fighter like Anthony Joshua, I'm sure that Drake's fine with that money lost, it's probably a small amount of money compared to what he's net worth so we don't have to be too sad about him losing that amount of money but still, it seems that Joshua isn't a showman because he quickly finished the match and it's such a performance too albeit a short one. Props to Ngannou for fighting even though it's a KO, he'll definitely be picking up after himself but will definitely move on and improve, his instincts in boxing are ever sharpening after all.
289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 09, 2024, 06:26:31 AM
As much as it's helpful for you as a human being and an individual to do some self reflection, it's going to be biased sometimes to do so, it's a good idea if you're also doing assessments that involves other people, that way you're making sure that you're doing the right changes because sometimes, there are things that you are aware of but you don't like to admit that it's who you are so you're resistant to it and so I believe that an assessment by other people preferably people that you're not close to would do the assessment for you, that way you're going to be slapped with the truth. Self-examination or self reflection is really biased if you're not used to doing it and you're doing it with your gambling habit, you're bound to do a lot of self-denial of the things that you'd be doing so it's better if you do it the way that I've said, ask someone.
290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How your feels? on: March 09, 2024, 05:09:26 AM
I'm gonna go on the limb here and say that most of these people that have gambled their crypto doesn't necessarily care that the price of some of those crypto that they've used to gamble is now worth more, they don't care and they'll probably go back to gambling again, it's not like they can do anything about it anyway, the casino won't give that crypto back even if you beg and cry blood in their faces, that's the policy of gambling, you pay for the game and you lose, there's no money back trick besides winning the game which is difficult for most to do.

It's also worth noting that these people that spend a lot of their bitcoins and altcoins even though the market is fully green are probably rich people and that money that they're throwing away in these crypto casinos are probably chump change to them and those that are betting small amounts are probably not betting daily or only a small percentage of their monthly or weekly earnings.
291  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC created new ATH before Halving: are you surprised? on: March 09, 2024, 03:14:52 AM
Definitely a surprise but it's not a showstopping kind of surprise, bitcoin didn't waver at the start of January and it's prices until now just continuously gone up without a sign of decline so that's what I've felt about that event happening to bitcoin, we all got to be ready though as bitcoin has never had a black swan event yet and it's going to be a mess if you're not prepared for that so if you're investing right now, make sure that you're doing DCA rather than buying bitcoins in droves, it would be a bad idea if suddenly the price dumps and you have no money to buy during that price dump, DCA and go all out in investing once the prices goes down which it inevitably does but only invest what you can afford to lose so you're not making yourself go hungry and getting late in rent because you've invested everything.
292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is going to touch all time highs on: March 08, 2024, 11:47:30 PM
when 80k march 15? or later.
I'm not good at speculation but man, I do think that it's a good date and number that we predict it to go there, the only factor is whether a lot of retail would take profit around 75k making the price go down but we still got like 6 days for this to happen, the further it's away from, the more likely the prices will go to the predicted number.

Anyone here not yet ready to sell their bitcoins or is still accumulating to maximize their profits when they finally sell?
293  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC power on: March 08, 2024, 07:35:19 PM
Bitcoins can be split into satoshis which works like cents in a dollar and the thing is that you can split so many times and if it even becomes so high in value, I think that we're going to see that everyone would still get a small amount. It's not 21 million that's going around or is potentially going around anymore because Satoshi Nakamoto (founder)have around 1.1m bitcoin which I think is unlikely to ever be sold, there's also the estimation that there's about 2 million lost coins so there's like 18 million bitcoins to go around and there's still like 120 years before we can see the last one. Don't you worry about the amount of bitcoin my guy, I feel like it's not something that we should worry about anyways because we can't do anything about it anyway.
294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ethical implications of the use of Bitcoin on: March 08, 2024, 04:15:55 PM
You know what would also make this much more better and would attract more people to do some discussion? Adding some sort of meat and bones to the topic, contribute something to the body of the topic so people will know what the hell you're talking about, people don't want to be doing guessing games you know, best if you just delete this or edit the thread and add something.
Calm down, OP's a newbie, give him the time for this kind of things, I'm sure that OP will eventually learn how to do it right but I do agree with you, a topic should at least have the opinion of the original poster because it's not really a good idea to have some kind of discussion without a context. The best that someone can do in this kind of situation would be to just learn, that's it. I don't think that deleting the topic could be a good idea though, it creates nothing of value if you do that anyway. As others have said already, better if OP edits this topic and add his thoughts and opinions so the discussion can finally start.
295  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dont sell because you feel like selling, give it another thought. on: March 08, 2024, 03:37:24 PM
Don't do what OP tells you, if you really need the money and you've got no way to pay your bills besides taking a small chunk of bitcoin in your stash, just do it. It's better in the long-run if you take care of yourself rather than let yourself get hurt in the process of saving, I'll tell you a story of a kid that I've known when I was still in school, this kid is always saving his allowance and doesn't eat even though he feels hungry because he's saving for something, I didn't ask what he's saving for but then he stopped coming to school, I just found out that he's taken to a hospital because he's starving himself and did get some form of anemia or something, he did recover though but my point is that you should never move your health or your necessity in second place in terms of priority, as long as you're alive you can still invest in bitcoin.
296  Economy / Economics / Re: When luxury becomes a necessity. on: March 07, 2024, 11:47:24 PM
Well, let's put it this way, you're not the majority of people that can just buy that luxury item without worries because you need it for work, it would still be a luxury even if it's a necessity for you, luxury for me means that it doesn't have any purpose besides it's function and it's effect on someone's social status, it can never be a necessity as I believe that a thing can be considered a necessity if you break down to the most basic and content life that you can be and if you can't live without it or you won't function for a day without it then that's definitely a necessity, maybe someday when everyone can afford that laptop, it might change group and become a necessity because everyone's got one.
297  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: All Time Buy & Hodle (ATBH) on: March 07, 2024, 03:18:32 PM
That's the first time that I've read someone and refer to bear market and bull market as "dip market" and "All Time High market" respectively, it kind of makes me cringe that people are calling that phenomenon something when there's an already established term for that, is it really that hard to call these phenomenons in it's generic terms that people are trying to find other ways to say it?

When it comes to being prepared though, I'm definitely ready for whatever happens to bitcoin, there's a lot of horror stories about bitcoin that's presented out there through my years in the forum, it's going to be really stupid of me to not heed the implied warnings of those stories right?

Also I'd like to add that when you're prepared for the best and the worst, you can relax easy and take your time, you're definitely going to be fine and you're not stressing where you're going to get the money to buy in case it's a good opportunity to buy bitcoin and knowing when to sell when it's the ripe time to sell.
298  Economy / Economics / Re: Hard times in the average Nigerian society on: March 07, 2024, 02:40:58 PM
My question now is what exactly sponsors the untold hardship in the life of an average Nigerian
If we're not just talking about money in terms of sponsorships, I believe that the Nigerian people are also responsible for the hard times that the country is facing, this isn't a Nigerian thing though as this kind of sickness is prevalent in a lot of countries if not all countries because if you vote a stupid, corrupt and incompetent official, who do you think has put them their through votes? Sure some might be corrupt and tries to rig it but think about it, if you all knew that the election is getting rigged, why aren't y'all doing anything about it?

Imagine if the people have voted for someone that's competent, you would immediately see the difference that's mostly progress, these good people aren't going to be winning if the public isn't on their side, that's why I believe that in hard times, it's not just the people that's on the top that's responsible but also your fellow countrymen.
299  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are some countries being sentimental with bitcoin and the cryptos at large? on: March 06, 2024, 11:39:04 PM
Self-centered is the most likely explanation for their problematic approach and embrace on bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, maybe if we're high ranking officials in the government that's involved in finances, we would know the real reason why the government don't like the idea of bitcoin ever being a thing. Or in truth, the real reason why they don't like it is basically what you've said, that it gives the people the freedom that they need, I mean a free kind of people is definitely a big deal to them because those types of people can never be influenced to do their bidding, remember that hunger would lead you to follow people that want the power by giving you false promises but bitcoin and most cryptocurrency can help you resolve that hunger and that way you're not looking for these men giving false hopes so that's one of the reasons why I think bitcoin and cryptocurrency isn't popular with the government.
300  Economy / Economics / Re: Our decision making is responsible for the outcomes in our ways on: March 06, 2024, 05:26:43 PM
As the others have already stated, it's not really your business to change their lifestyle and that disassociation is going to be a bad thing for you especially as a friend. Let me put in some sense on those two matters that I've agreed upon:

          1. Minding your own business would definitely take you far in life, you meddle too much and you'd end up having to deal with trouble and at the same time you also end having no time to deal with your own problems because you're too much involved with the life of your friend, if they want to be miserable then let them be, that's how they want to live. Think of it this way, if you're in his situation, what're you going to do? And are you going to want your friend to be pestering you about all this stuff?

I know that we all want to save someone from their misery but there's just not that many people that want the saving and to me this all sounds like trying to be self-righteous, that you're the one that's more moral and a very nice exemplary.

          2. I can't recommend disassociation to some degree because there's the factor of how long you've been friends with that person, it's definitely a problem if you're childhood friends or that you've been friends for a long time, this isn't the kind of thing that should crack a friendship, the reason is too petty in my opinion and the only time that I believe that a disassociation or friendship termination is valid when that friend's been asking money for them to gamble or that you feel like if you stick to this kind of person, that you're not going to go anywhere in your life.
