281  Other / Meta / Re: This altcoin is trying to trade merits ? Will theymos allow this ? on: May 05, 2019, 02:11:16 AM
This whole concept look silly and  it is something that he is creating value from thin air.

I can say this is somewhat of scam project or ponzi at the best and showing that project will be used to reward the merited user (with there free, worthless token.)  ,just to get acceptance in the community.

Edit:

What I dont understand is how can he guarantee or promise that the price of the token will be $1. It is not really that easy is it?

This is totally unrelated to this particular token, which I don't know anything about and only spent 30 seconds skimming, but you could do a stablecoin in a mostly-decentralized way like this:
 - Call the stablecoin "SSCN". There's also another token which is part of the same system called "SBND".
 - When the price is below $1, the system automatically creates x SBND tokens and sells them for SSCN tokens in an automatic auction process. This destroys SSCN coins, reducing the supply and therefore increasing the price.
 - When the price is above $1, the system automatically buys y SBND tokens in return for SSCN tokens in an automatic auction process. This creates SSCN coins, increasing the supply and therefore reducing the price.

(Speculators would buy SBND tokens if they think that SSCN is going to become more popular, and sell them if they think that SSCN is going to become less popular.)

A decentralized system cannot know anything about prices, so some centralized entity needs to provide SSCN's price to the system as an input. This is an unavoidable point of centralization. But everything else, such as determining x and y above and conducting the auctions, could be done automatically.

Are the stable coins are not backed by the fiat currencies?
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Pre-ANN] [cBux]Welcome to the first ever community based stable-coins. on: May 05, 2019, 02:07:02 AM

cbux1 is ETH-ERC20 tokens. We plan to mint some 2 billion cbux1 tokens and will distribute to this community based on your merit levels. Yes, if you are a hero member here and having some 550 merits then you are entitled to have 550 cbux1 tokens which are worth of $550. Balances after distribution will be burnt to ensure decentralization.

You are creating a stable coin and what you are puttin in reserve to create the 2 billion dollar worth of coin?

Why you need to create coin, then token on so many chain? (EOS, ETH,TRON and BNB etc.)

What will give value to your coin?
283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Irony on: May 04, 2019, 06:12:39 PM
There is some difference between how the BTC started and how the current crypto currency are getting started.
Founder of BTC saw a problem in centralized currency system and created a decentralized system. Founder was not working for gathering the profits. Current cryto currency startups ( which are legit as most of them are scam) are working on the same way the large business works but they accept crypto. They are motivated by profits.
284  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Double-spending issue? on: May 04, 2019, 05:10:12 PM
I read that the double spent issue is when you transfer funds and the funds remain with you and are also received by the recipient.

Your above conclusion is wrong that in double spend that fund remains with you and with the recipient. Actually double spend means that you are trying to spend the same fund twice and in the end fund will be with only one of the party .(usually it is sender.)

51% attack is totally different than double spend. Every transaction had ledger entry in blockchain. This entry is done with the consensus of the participating nodes. In 51% attack dishonest node get the majority stake (more than 51 %) and they can start writing their own transaction entry, wiping the earlier valid entries and creating the new entries. So 51% attack corrupts the ledger in layman terms.

Edit: striked after below discussion.
285  Other / Meta / Re: Why forum mods are trying to moderate a language that they do not understand? on: May 04, 2019, 04:54:11 PM
Honestly sometimes our messages just get deleted and you even fail to understand why because at times they maybe on topic. It happens to almost all of us at one point.

We generally ignore if  one post got deleted in couple of month but personally I  feel it awkward that mod think that reply is off topic/spammy   when I clearly know it is on topic.

All good  report  against you increase the counter and I hate the counter increases when I an not in the fault.

Back to  OP.
OP is not the only one who got unexplained deletion of the post. Few days ago some other user was complaining about post deleting in  bangladesh local thread.

I am also interested on knowing how Mods are making their mind for deleting the post? Do they know bangla/Urdu or they are using google translate?

Though google translate is generally correct but sometimes it messes the sentences.
286  Other / Meta / Re: The other side of merit system on: May 04, 2019, 03:35:11 PM
What's this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5126666.msg50400651#msg50400651? Give merit? I don't see creating topics for things which have been repeated thousand times only because someone expect to get merits for them as improvement, more like step backward.

This is merit begging in my opinion and I guess OP is really fortunate there.

OP , you can try to improve and people will notice you. No need to do an announcement that you think you are improving.
287  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Steemit Writers for BetHash on: May 04, 2019, 01:40:26 PM
I am somewhat surprised that you are looking for steemit writers instead of reddit, medium etc.

Anyway how many writers you are looking for?  Is it for one time or long time position.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Building an P2P gambling thread on bitcointalk on: May 03, 2019, 06:54:27 PM
OP, As eternalgloom pointed out, you have flaw in your idea. Even you are high ranking member your idea will not work.
When users can directly deal with betting site why they need to add a middlemen? (adding more risk)

Drop this idea and try to find something  other in which you and community both can be benefited.
289  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [YOUR OPINION] How can $500 be used most effectively when it comes to marketing? on: May 03, 2019, 05:05:11 PM
I see you are trying to give some kind of banking/saving service. I guess this is very absurd service.

Pro on the crypto will never advise or use your service. They will keep their money on their own wallet.

I guess you can go for affiliate commission in your business model but it will decrease your profit but then you are paying only for successful business generated for you.
290  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Sell and Buy Services Here on: May 03, 2019, 04:47:19 PM
Basically you want to create a smart contract of services. Release money when work is done.
I see problem in this model that who will independently verify that lawn is mowed properly and payment should be released?
How can system stop service taker abusing the system?
291  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Corruption in The White House. on: May 03, 2019, 03:43:56 PM
I guess it is political degradation of the system. Unfortunately when in election if you get two bad choices then you have only two option i) choose any one of the bad choice ii) Do not take part in election

I think a option like "none of these" is needed so that politician get the correct feedback.
292  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where to go? on: May 03, 2019, 03:31:30 PM
You are sharing here only negative things about your country.
I'm sure there are also a lot of positive things about your country, people, nature etc.

First , this is very old topic.
Second, telling the truth is not equivalent to spreading the negativity. I think Brazil economic climate make any honest individual depressed.
293  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: (Basic) Check the fee efficiency of your last transaction! on: May 03, 2019, 03:03:15 PM
OP,  Best I read about estimating the transaction fees is to estimate yourself by analyzing the Mempool statistics.

294  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Always monitor your coins - Always be secured! on: May 03, 2019, 02:59:43 PM
Put your coins in cold storage for better security and check your balance on the block explorers instead of opening your wallet and connecting it to network.
More you keep away your wallet from network, less will be the chances of getting hacked.
295  Economy / Exchanges / Re: scam exchange on: May 03, 2019, 02:55:53 PM
Your purpose is solved even if one legit exchange exist. Even the exchange is legit you should not leave your coins on exchange.

If dubious about exchange then try to do small trades at a time or better do not involve with them.
296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to work Bitcoin? on: May 03, 2019, 02:43:11 PM
If you want to get started then I guess you can start yourself by reading in below site:
https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started

I see you are sharing the trading article, keep yourself away from trading until you do not understand what cryptocurrencies are and what are risk/benefits associated with them.
297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [[Important]] Newbie and beginner look here please... on: May 03, 2019, 02:35:16 PM
where they know we have wallet on MEW? even we don't put email on MEW and to be sure sending pishing site to email

You are yourself giving your emails and MEW addresses when you start applying in all these fake airdrops.
Most of the bounty hunter think even the token is scam, they are free they are not losing money but in reality they are making themselves susceptible to these kind of attack. (giving your MEW address + email address.)
298  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Malware education - How to find hidden viruses & How does malware work on: May 03, 2019, 02:27:17 PM
I think , first user need to stop clicking the links that can lead to the malicious sites or download of these programs. Do not click the links if you doubt them.
When you are downloading any software ,make sure that you are downloading from the official link. Little caution is always a good thing.
299  Other / Meta / Re: What is the meaning of this Warning? Has it been applied recently? on: May 03, 2019, 01:31:19 PM
All threads on Security section has warning same as that, same in investor-based games section which topics are mostly for investments that require higher risk.

I remember this used to be the exact warning on the gambling section.

Quote
Warning: You are in the Gambling section. You are likely to eventually lose any money that you gamble/"invest". Additionally, moderators do not remove likely scams. You must use your own brain: caveat emptor. Do not gamble more than you can afford to lose.

But currently ,  I am not seeing any warning in gambling section or its child board. Is this warning removed now? and why?
