hello

fan speed is normal? s3.

Don't be surprised if it lifts off the ground and flies out the window.
realy? chain 2 is very bad?

but temp is ok

Temp is good. This has happened to a few people here and I haven't seen a cure for these symptoms. Some people have suggested updating the firmware or going and doing a reboot from the system tab. If your hashing is good and the hw errors are low then it isn't something to really worry about. Are the fans fairly quiet? It doesn't sound like an old school vacuum machine does it?

Discards do not matter. CK said they mean nothing and should never have been reported and tracked in the first place. The "-" you see is a malfunctioning ASIC. It should still be under warranty and BitMain can help you fix it if the chips is bad. I got someone good when I had a under performing board and they replaced it.

I've been running 4.6 cgminer on 2 batch 2s and the load is half of what it was previously and the speed has remained the same. I tried OC'ing them further, but they're stuck with the DC/DC lameness that crippled these before. One is at 218.75 - 441GH/s and the other is at 237.5 - 480GH/s.

Very happy with the binaries and sending tippage CK's way. I really would love to see if 4.6 would run on an S1. I've been mucking with source and maybe if I get some more time I'll get it to compile correctly.

If you want a quick upgrade, @Kano version is not 4.6 but 4.3.2 for the S1, I been using for quite some time now and it works fine.

https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS1

Cool, I'll load that one on and see if it drops the load on those as well. Thank you!

I'm trying 4.6 as well on two batch 2s. So far so good - stable, load is lower and web gui is more responsive (due to lower load). Hashrate  is very stable as well Smiley

I will trust bitmain more than KNC.

I don't trust any of them. They don't pay my bills.

Smiley Great posts on there - very accurate descriptions of this scamterprise

KNC has funding. Perhaps the reason for their change of attitude towards their customers. They no longer need to satisfy their customers, only their investors.

https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-104

Greed's a bitch and she's going to get hers when they screw over their investors. Customers complain, but investors make ppl disappear. RIP Scam Hole.

No more preorders for me, so I won't be purchasing this hardware. I refuse to take the risk on product development. This business model needs to die off on the consumer end and if you want it to go away do not participate in any more of these deals. I think b8 of the s3s was a test of tolerance to see if we would bite and fund this venture. Bitmain is better than this and I find it disheartening that they are following that crap model now.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 04, 2014, 05:55:08 PM

It doesn't look like they will ship by the end of the month if they are still in the engineering phase. End of October maybe. There is just way too much competition out there in this industry to justify these pre-order purchases.

Ah ok, thank you for sending me the link. I've been away for a few and everything changes.

Is this hashnest.com associated with Bitmain in any way?
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AntMiner L1 for sales $5/MH/s ships in December on: September 03, 2014, 12:04:26 PM
This is my favorite line: "Chip Efficiency: Efficiency is a stimulation result." Bitmain - you may want to change it to simulation minus the t.

If it is not a long term pre-order then i may bite. I'll keep my eye on it, but the above line is keeping me in stitches.  Smiley
295  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: antminer S1 upgrade kits on: September 02, 2014, 07:09:30 PM
The case also greatly dampens the noise from both fans on the S3. Just buy an S3.

Received a cloud hashing sales message today. Fortunately, the clear cut terms have made the math extremely easy.

$2k for 6 months hashing at 1th.

- With no difficulty increases, 1th will earn around 3.24 BTC over 6 months.
- $2k today will buy you around 4.10 BTC.
- In order to mine 4.10 BTC in 6 months, difficulty needs to drop to around 23 billion and stay there for 6 months.

This is a great deal if you believe hashrate is getting ready to drop below 23 billion and keep dropping.

However, there will still be some mathematically challenged people that will think it's a great deal and buy it just because it's from "the most trusted name in bitcoin mining!" Excuse me. I just had to vomit.
297  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: September 01, 2014, 09:04:29 PM
any news about starting to ship batch 8 ?
I paid 0.58 BTC x2 , for something that will never ROI
At least they should send it faster !

at least you are losing 0.58 unlike me, I ordered batch 6 and payed 1.32 BTC, I only made 0.30 BTC back (not counting electricity) Cheesy

so I am down 1 BTC + electricity.

Don't forget that you own the hardware and there are lots of people on eBay that will pay $400+ for your miner.

After fees and shipping youd be luck to get >$400 once people realize how bad of a deal Batch 8 is the market will bve flooded and prices will be driven down.  Now is the time to sell the S3s!

True, that's why I sold both of my B1 S3's already.

Did you sell them through eBay or through here? I want to sell all my gear as well, but haven't done anything on eBay for 9 years Smiley
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer L1 - Speculation... on: August 31, 2014, 12:48:21 AM
Interesting move. Is this hardware competitive with KNC specifications?
no need BitMain will actually deliver a working product whereas KfC will make excuses why they aren't. Also, the L1 probably won't catch on fire. Nice bonus.
299  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 30, 2014, 10:28:49 PM
Is their anywhere selling these s3 units seprate than having to order 2x units at a times as want 3 or maybe more but do not want to have to buy 4 in one go or 6 as maybe considering 3 to 5 or 1 to begin and work up.

Min order is 2. You can order any number up from that 2.3.4.19 etc

Something new is releasing.
ANTMINER L1
https://bitmaintech.com/product.htm

Well, at least it's priced right: zero (0) btc.

Should be profitable from day one.

</snark>

0 btc count me in. I'll take 100 please. I'll be setting up a group buy at 0 btc LOL.

Looks like our Chinese brothers are going to shake up the Scrypt mining world. Awesome!!!
