281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] BitShares 2.0 Pitchfork Date is October 13, 2015 on: October 02, 2015, 10:39:36 AM
Man this Graphene Wallet looks sick, can't wait to try it out.

So how does Bitshares manage bloat with 100,000 transactions per second and 3 second Blocktimes?

With 3 second block it's will be 33 000 transactions per second, as I know later this year it's will be upgraded to 1 second block after block propagation code will be optimized (today BitShares use more or less same block propagation method as Bitcoin).

So what does that mean about the amount of Bloat incurred over time? Is there some kind of pruning method? or does it keep the entire Blockchain in it's entirety as in BitCoin? What does that mean for node holders? Will they sport GB-TB's of data?

there's a blog about TPS: https://bitshares.org/blog/2015/06/08/measuring-performance/

should answer your questions

So Bitshares is going to do a snapshot to move onto Bitshares2.0? How would that affect exchanges?

Maybe someone from the inside knows something.

I wanna figure out how Bitshares will be able to manage 100k TPS. Realistically, if it does what it says then it's the first Blockchain that can compete with Visa so 12-15 mil marketcap is nothing when you can run entire corporations on the Blockchain.

I meant the recent dump.  BTS 2.0 is coming out which is supposedly good..  Then someone dumps.  Does not compute.

So maybe someone inside knows something?

I think it would be to try to margin call people and pick up more shares at a cheaper price.

Looks like someone tried shorting with a fairly large amount of Coin where some 130-140 btc worth were dumped into buy orders all at once.

The thing that is interesting is that if you really wanted to sell that amount of Coins, why would you just dump all at once instead of selling over a longer period?

I guess if considering getting in or not, this may be a good chance to get in at a low level.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon™ HI POS | LiteStake | Multisend | TOR | Android | Cryptsy on: October 01, 2015, 11:56:57 AM
I've updated the OP to include the new PayCon website we've built. It still needs some work but a bit of a fun project that we can work on and refine to be the best it can possibly be Smiley

I've been gathering some information and working on the Blockchain and testing where I can, also quite busy with real world stuff and trading as well so just trying to make time for everything.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Overleveraged buffoon creates biggest Mexican standoff in Altcoin history on: October 01, 2015, 11:39:46 AM
Hah, this is great!

Bitshares is way oversold right now, should be some nice profit over the next week.

Well atleast for some...

Too bad I am not a Korean with $1.175 million dollars USD cash to play around with (in Bitcoin)
..must be nice  Roll Eyes

and this is part of the reason why I quit this trading stuff long ago.
big money walks in and controls the game..
which sort of spits in the face of the very concept of Bitcoin in the first place.

AKA: The rich get richer

Big money only can control the game to an extent, you still have to be able to sell when holding large amounts so the more you have the bigger the gain that needs to be to be able to liquidate it.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining on: September 30, 2015, 11:52:31 AM
My daily anti-shill

Do not invest in this shit, you will lose money because there is no proof that there is any mining actually happening. People who have invested are trying to get out and having their withdrawals delayed for days on end on refunded to their accounts with auto-reinvest turned on. Don't know what auto-reinvested tuned on means? it means that you are automatically rebuying MHS (previously KHS), and will cause you to lose more. Do not buy this under any circumstances, this operation is pure fraud and will take you money.

If you believe I am in error of the judgments I make, feel free to counter my arguments with SOUND and REASONABLE arguments, I will gladly retract my statements.

Until then, do not invest in this SCAM under any circumstances.

P.S. The OP has not replied in months......

290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Colossuscoin- 1.5.2 BIG, STRONG, and FRIENDLY on: September 30, 2015, 11:39:54 AM
Quote
Information on how to dump your ColossuscoinV1 (COL) private key:
1.) From Menu, click Help > Debug Window
2.) Click on Console
3.) dumpprivkey <YOURADDRESS>
4.) replace youraddress with your colossuscoin-address

Thanks for this, it's not so easy to find. Where can I find "my address" please?

Colossuscoins are ‘stored’ in something called colossuscoin addresses - they look something like this: 26sujaFM9YUMLk87pXYu3W5FZJZwLaFuEn. There are two parts to a colossuscoin address – the public key (commonly just called the address) and the private key – the important part that lets you spend the colossuscoins on it’s corresponding public key.

>> From Menu, click "Receive coins", there you find your colossuscoin address <YOURADDRESS> (puplic key)

Thank you very much for all the help, ColossusCoin is the strongest and friendliest Coin around because I and everyone else want everyone to be able to  profit as we grow. Smiley
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Colossuscoin v2.0 (CV2) |[X13] [PoW/PoS][in 100% PoS Stage]5000 CV2/Block! on: September 30, 2015, 11:01:38 AM
Hi, I have received the Coin for the build and just waiting on the builds to be made.

I had a quite interesting conversation with mullick and in the interest of trasperancy, I would like to share it and get as much feedback as possible. looks as though Cryptsy holds approximately 50% of the ColossusCoin Coins.

[9/27/2015 10:59:12 PM] Crestington: Hey Mullick, it's Crestington
[9/27/2015 10:59:52 PM] Crestington: I was wondering if it is possible to be able to swap out the ColossusCoin Blockchain for ColossusCoin2
[9/27/2015 11:00:19 PM] Crestington: It has been running since the beginning of the year and something I'd like to get sorted
[9/27/2015 11:01:02 PM] Crestington: we are in ownership of most of the Coins and have been swapping over Coins that are outside of the Crytpsy exchange
[9/27/2015 11:01:44 PM] Crestington: by my estimates there are about 60 mil (approximately 30%) of ColossusCoin on the Cryptsy exchange
[9/27/2015 11:01:58 PM] Mul Lick: Ya we just got a ticket about that actually
[9/27/2015 11:02:07 PM] Mul Lick: "I received notice to swap COL to CV2, But I do not find Cryptsy is trading CV2. Please tell me the roadmap of COL. Will Cryptsy stop trading COL in the future? I do not want to swap. Must I swap in the future?”
[9/27/2015 11:03:03 PM] Crestington: my idea is that we would reserve about 60% for the Cryptsy swap, distribute the majority of the rest between those that have swapped beforehand
[9/27/2015 11:03:15 PM] Mul Lick: But ya we could work something out. Just not sure how we are gonna handle people who dont want to swap. Never had that before lol
[9/27/2015 11:03:18 PM] Crestington: reserve less than 10% for development
[9/27/2015 11:03:26 PM] Crestington: I don't know
[9/27/2015 11:03:37 PM] Crestington: it's really tricky and don't want to short people
[9/27/2015 11:03:42 PM] Mul Lick: We could just send them the COL and not swap them i guess
[9/27/2015 11:04:32 PM] Mul Lick: But they wont have anywhere to trade. Let me dig up the wallet and see how many we have. Was there a snapshot taken?
[9/27/2015 11:04:52 PM] Crestington: no snapshot has been taken
[9/27/2015 11:05:26 PM] Crestington: we've been doing 20:1 as the CV2 Blockchain has 19.7 billion vs the 312 billion for COL
[9/27/2015 11:06:20 PM] Crestington: but that would leave some 40-50% left over as the chinese exchange held a great deal
[9/27/2015 11:06:29 PM] Mul Lick: Last time the db scanned the wallet we had
[9/27/2015 11:06:32 PM | Edited 11:07:03 PM] Mul Lick: 161,244,879,623.26000000
[9/27/2015 11:06:42 PM] Mul Lick: That includes storage wallets
[9/27/2015 11:06:56 PM] Crestington: ok well that's actually pretty good
[9/27/2015 11:07:09 PM] Crestington: that's about half
[9/27/2015 11:07:37 PM] Mul Lick: That could be off though. We were not on the right chain last it was up. So could have less. Could have more. Ill have to get the wallet synced up to know for sure
[9/27/2015 11:07:54 PM] Mul Lick: Have any nodes to sync to?
[9/27/2015 11:08:15 PM] Crestington: the COL1 chain is coded pretty badly
[9/27/2015 11:08:27 PM] Crestington: even with nodes it won't sync properly
[9/27/2015 11:08:49 PM] Mul Lick: ya which is why the wallet is in my archives lol
[9/27/2015 11:09:06 PM] Crestington: I just want to get it sorted so people can trade and use it
[9/27/2015 11:09:12 PM] Mul Lick: Hmm. Do you have a wallet synced up? I could give you a dump of a listaddressgroupings from the walelt
[9/27/2015 11:09:29 PM] Mul Lick: If you have a chain you could compile a balance for each address
[9/27/2015 11:09:58 PM] Crestington: I'm not quite sure how to do snapshots
[9/27/2015 11:10:07 PM] Mul Lick: Ya its a pain
[9/27/2015 11:10:17 PM] Crestington: been trying to get help but not much help given
[9/27/2015 11:10:25 PM] Crestington: we've been doing it manually
[9/27/2015 11:10:40 PM] Mul Lick: You basically parse the chain for all addresses with a balance above x then in the new chain send each address its correct balance
[9/27/2015 11:11:08 PM] Crestington: you send it to the address in the old chain?
[9/27/2015 11:11:30 PM] Mul Lick: If they use the same base58 encoding
[9/27/2015 11:11:56 PM] Crestington: what about starting letter for base58?
[9/27/2015 11:11:59 PM] Mul Lick: Otherwise you have to do some maths and use the pubkey to generate a new address with the new chain
[9/27/2015 11:12:30 PM] Mul Lick: Ya it gets a bit tricky there. You can use the pubkey to generate an address for whatever address format its in
[9/27/2015 11:12:38 PM] Mul Lick: And the same privkey will unlock the new address
[9/27/2015 11:12:52 PM] Crestington: hmm, that's quite cool
[9/27/2015 11:13:11 PM] Mul Lick: Ya an address is just a hash of the pubkey
[9/27/2015 11:13:28 PM] Mul Lick: You could just make one key pair and use that for every coin if you really wanted to
[9/27/2015 11:13:51 PM] Mul Lick: But that just throws all security out the window if that key gets hijacked
[9/27/2015 11:14:33 PM] Mul Lick: https://github.com/znort987/blockparser
[9/27/2015 11:14:36 PM] Mul Lick: Thats a good parser to use
[9/27/2015 11:14:46 PM] Crestington: yeah I was given that before
[9/27/2015 11:14:51 PM | Edited 11:15:05 PM] Mul Lick: It can give you a dump of every address and its balance in just a few minutes
[9/27/2015 11:14:56 PM] Crestington: how do I setup the script?
[9/27/2015 11:15:09 PM] Mul Lick: lol never figured that out
[9/27/2015 11:15:11 PM] Crestington: actually that would be great
[9/27/2015 11:15:41 PM] Mul Lick: I posted on the forums as i couldnt get it working
[9/27/2015 11:15:48 PM] Mul Lick: But no answer in months
[9/27/2015 11:16:03 PM] Mul Lick: I just built my own in php which is 10,000x slower
[9/27/2015 11:16:10 PM] Crestington: yeah only one I know that knows how to do it is superclam
[9/27/2015 11:17:22 PM] Crestington: I'll have to check the base58 keys, I believe they are the same
[9/27/2015 11:17:37 PM] Crestington: what about magic number?
[9/27/2015 11:17:44 PM] Mul Lick: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=88584.msg11965661#msg11965661
[9/27/2015 11:17:47 PM] Crestington: does that matter?
[9/27/2015 11:17:51 PM] Mul Lick: thats my post about the parser lol
[9/27/2015 11:18:04 PM] Mul Lick: No thats only used when connecting to peers
[9/27/2015 11:18:18 PM] Crestington: ok
[9/27/2015 11:20:18 PM] Crestington is it possible we could do the swap manually and leave it open for about a month, distribute about 10% and then give Cryptsy about 75% to balance it out?
[9/27/2015 11:20:40 PM] Mul Lick: https://github.com/Sudo23/Infinitecoin-V2/blob/master/src/base58.h#L279-L282
[9/27/2015 11:22:27 PM] Mul Lick: Ya we could do that. Only thing is verifying what our balance was. The database is accurate from the last time we ran it but we have no way to prove that to you without using the chain. First ill make sure we dont have any other wallets and get a final balance for you
[9/27/2015 11:22:43 PM] Crestington: ok sounds good
[9/27/2015 11:23:28 PM] Crestington: I had someone send me en email today asking me about the swap as well
[9/27/2015 11:23:45 PM] Crestington: I just really want to get it sorted out
[9/27/2015 11:24:09 PM] Mul Lick: Ya if the new chains functions better than the old a lot of people will be happy lol
[9/27/2015 11:24:13 PM] Crestington: otherwise it's something hanging that I intended to do but never did
[9/27/2015 11:24:23 PM] Crestington: oh yeah much better
[9/27/2015 11:25:03 PM] Mul Lick: Ok ill dig up the wallet in the morning and work on getting you a final balance
[9/27/2015 11:27:34 PM] Crestington: sounds good, thanks

Please let me know your thoughts an opinions.

Interesting, BTS price breaking above 2700 again.

If r0ach is correct about the short position, this guy is already at a 100 btc loss..

I totally agree!
Q:How much of the coins does Cryptsy really own?

Regards
Tom

Of the old Col v1:
They got 61,681,298,209.54 showing for sale on the LTC side
and
They got   1,109,616,060.18 showing for sale on the XRP side.

So they got at least that many in their wallet , probably more.

 Cool

Hmm, I would say it would be about 30% of the Coin with much lost early on so I would say that it would have to be something where we would give 20-30% to those that swapped, 60% to Cryptsy holders and retain the rest for the development fund. I will talk to BitJohn and find out if this is possible.

Hello Crestington!

What do you mean by that?
I think it's fine that all Colossuscoin2 holders should equally gets unclaimed 2.0 Coins from what is left over
in relation to how much they own (redistributed through PoS by %, if this is possible)

Other method we should consider: All excess/ unclaimed Colossuscoin2 will be sent to a burn address.

Quote
A burn address is a special address that is predetermined. No one has ownership of
the burn address, meaning once coins are sent to it, they are forever gone and are considered “burnt”. It is
impossible for burnt coins to be “un-burnt”.

Regards
Tom

I really don't like having Coins sent to a burn address because it messes up Block explorers but could easily send a large amount as fees over a week or two.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lies Bagholders Tell Themselves. on: September 28, 2015, 01:44:50 AM

If I had a bag of 10 lbs of gold, is it bad to be a bagholder?

If gold were worthless, yes. It would be bad to be a bagholder.

You don't seem to understand what a bagholder is.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bagholder
http://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/bag-holder.asp
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bagholder

Just substitute "coin" for "stock" and you'll get the idea.

Are you saying there aren't precious metals bag holders?

Everyone holding gold or silver after the 2011 bubble is a bagholder IMO.

I think this is the correct term for bagholder from urbandictionary

bag holder (n)

In a swinger group it's the husband who holds while wife is merging with another group member...

wife says to husband " will U be my bag holder tonight? BIG black african wants me & he doesn't like his balls to drag on the sheets " !!

husband says to wife "####@$%$@$!" this is the last time I always get STINK HAND !!!

Nope, I sent you 5k, sent 8k to Dennislevy, a couple k to Crunkch, 10k to Vlad McLoud, 20-30k to Fire Rabbit and 5-6k in the Cryptsy trollbox, Presstabs explorer is great for dolling out a few extra Coins.

I made a decent amount trading over the last week by pushing up volume which is cheaper and more effective than paying for the Coin promotion since the recent changes to Cryptsy in which there are no trade Fees but 0.5% on withdrawals Smiley

I don't really know why this thread is still running since the site is a ponzi..

It runs because Bitcointalk has a policy of not getting directly involved in moderating for scams so people need to do their own research. So until Bitcointalk can create a better method, the best method people can do is to warn others who might fall into these traps.

PSA: Scrypt.cc is guilty of Fraudulent Misrepresentation, a crime in every financial jurisdiction in the world. Anyone who has lost money buying or selling their fictitious 'KHS'/'MHS' token is legally entitled to recover their funds back in full.

Nice, Jahvinci and I have a little test Coin up and running to play with, got a nice little project to play around with for the next little while.

I've actually been interested in Clams use of "Staketo" which allows you to stake your input and your reward to an address of your choosing.
Really nice Crest, if you need more testers you know where to find me :>

We've been doing some mining of X13 and it made me wonder if you can just send to the same address of an existing wallet within a new chain and what it takes to do that.
Well theoretically just importing the key to that address should grant access to the coins shouldn't it?

That's what I'm thinking, going to test it out this week to see. I asked SuperClam about redemption of keys and he said you just need to send them to another address within the same chain.
