281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) shows a huge drop. What’s the Reason? on: August 27, 2019, 01:06:08 AM
Bitcoin (BTC) as of writing this article was trading at $10,024.1 against the United States dollar (USD) and the coin was showing negative and download fall of -1.54 percent. What's The Reason Behind dropdown

Source : https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/bitcoin-btc-shows-a-huge-drop-whats-the-reason/

How much time taken to recover?

If you consider -1.54% a huge drop, you really shouldn't be invested in crypto. -10% isn't out of the ordinary and a 1-2% drop is commonplace. If BTC loses half its value in a day or two, then that's a huge drop, but otherwise just ignore small movements like this.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex Delisting 23 Trading Pairs, Whats The Effect? on: August 26, 2019, 10:50:55 PM
Those coins are having a chance to be considered as securities that can't comply with US regulation.
But the delisting of those coins didn't give any impact even that already happened. People are feeling difficult when it comes to dealing with US security exchange site like polo due to the uncertain regulation.
The delisting of coins gave a little decrease at the trade volume of polo but it doesn't give any impact to the daily volume of the coins were getting delisted.

I'm not sure if folks are even reading what was delisted before responding here. The coins were delisted due to low volume because they are in really weird pairings, several against Monero. It had nothing to do with being a security, unless you consider LTC a security (it was one of the pairings delisted).

This is the list: LTC/XMR, DASH/XMR, ZEC/XMR, MAID/XMR, NXT/XMR, BCN/XMR, LSK/ETH, GNT/ETH, MANA/ETH, QTUM/ETH, STEEM/ETH, OMG/ETH, LOOM/ETH, SNT/ETH, CVC/ETH, KNC/ETH, GAS/ETH, BNT/ETH, LOOM/USDT, SNT/USDT, KNC/USDT, BNT/USDT and FOAM/USDC.

The question shouldn't be why those pairings were delisted but why did they even exist in the first place. Common sense tells you they won't have much volume.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We need regulation pretty bad on: August 26, 2019, 07:47:47 PM
Regulations can help in regard to ICO related fraud, and basically they already have in most cases -- hardly any ICOs being run anymore.

It won't help in the least in regard to bad projects. It's like saying regulation is needed to weed out bad companies from good companies -- it's not a regulation issue, simply an issue of investors needing to choose better projects.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dominance Index: is Alt Season already there, without us even noticing? on: August 26, 2019, 05:49:09 PM
If altcoin season is already here, I hate to think of what the alt markets will look like when it's not here. Easy way to determine when it's here -- price of alts increase in comparison to btc. So not only do they increase in fiat, but their alt-btc ratios increase.

Very few alts are anywhere near their 'normal' btc prices. Most are at least half of the price they were just 2-3 months ago, some worse than that. Even some big coins are at btc prices lower than they were 2-3 years ago. So again, if the season is here, we are in for some rocky times.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][IEO]★ISKRA(CCOH)★Children&Diamonds💎 on: August 26, 2019, 05:42:12 PM
Isn't the IEO now over for the coin? Although strangely I see it still offered on the website/exchange, even though I think the deadline date has passed.

Any updates on it?
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: waiting for altcoin season might take time on: August 26, 2019, 05:39:41 PM
I have heard people talk about altcoins season for a long time, especially after the BTC along with other top Altcoins have increased their prices so much since the beginning of the year.
My question is, right now a lot of people are waiting for altcoins season, so who will push money into this market? Where is the inflow and it's possible if all altcoin holders have profit? When I see the lack of attention of people about the crypto market, and there is not a hype like the end of 2017.

Either BTC needs to reach ATH then falls back, and whales move to alts. Or BTC falls and consolidates, and whales decides to chomp up Alts during the lull ... or something needs to occur to bring more money into alts. I suppose friendly regulation or a new Alt taking off ETH-style could spur something like that.

Simple way of looking at is, 'whatever whales feel like doing'. It doesn't require that much new money pushed in even, just a reorganization of current money (or in other words, change in btc dominance).
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why do people lose confidence with ethereum? on: August 25, 2019, 09:55:21 PM
why are people busy with ethereum? whether their trust has been lost. Isn't the rise and fall of coin prices on the market common? yes ... considering the market is bearish does not mean that ethereum prices will die and that does not mean that bitcoin will dominate the market forever.

come on stay enthusiastic, Let time answer. don't listen to FUD, if you are an old investor I'm sure you won't stop here. reconsider before you make a brief decision ... because ethereum is a high-potential altcoin, I'm sure they will soon rise from this difficult time.

I think many are losing confidence in most alts, not just ETH. To me, it's primarily due to the market situation, where almost all alts are suffering. But the scalability issue with ETH is a bit of a concern (we'll see if 2.0 can fix it).

So I won't say be enthusiastic, but it's not all doom and gloom either.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Price Prediction for September 2019: Can Bulls Get Back LTC to $100 on: August 25, 2019, 06:20:34 PM
I think LTC can reach $100+, but not necessarily in Sept. More like if BTC rises, it'll lift LTC up too -- meaning one is better off just holding BTC instead of LTC.

The LTC halvening boost was priced in like 2 months before the actual event. Of course not everyone knew that is how it'd play out, but apparently that is how it did.

So if holding LTC, I guess just continue to hold it. I wouldn't necessarily suggest new investors jump onto the LTC bandwagon right now though.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: hodl no shitcoins for future altcoin season on: August 24, 2019, 09:01:45 PM
I have so many shitcoins now in my wallet. I don't know what to do with them, because they are worth literally nothing. If i want to sell them i can't. What should i do ? They are just sitting in my wallet.

Obviously just leave them there, wait, and maybe by some miracle in the future they might be slightly less than worthless. There is no point in dumping coins for nothing or pennies.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now I want to buy some kind of alternate coins. What kind of coins can I buy? on: August 24, 2019, 08:39:43 PM
I had some capital investment. Altar coins. Now that's 30% price. Will I ever get my capital back?Looking to invest in some capital. What can I buy alternate coins. Will Alter Coin Market return to its previous position?

As others have stated, best to do your own research. Asking here will either get you folks stating to buy whatever alt they currently are holding, or just a random guess at some coins.

If not willing to do your own research and you absolutely feel like you have to buy some alts, just stick it into ETH and forget about it for now.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is Called Talk of Crypto Town on: August 24, 2019, 05:34:36 PM

When Majority of Audiences start Loving a Particular Crypto Project, the project automatically becomes the talk of the crypto town. The same is happening with the Titan coin.

Titan coin is getting a huge response from the market. Many leading websites, including Wikipedia, Investing.com, Coinspeaker.com, etc. have mentioned our coin in their articles/pages.

People are absolutely loving us. New threads about titan coin (& projects) are being created by users on all the popular crypto forums. Our social media accounts are getting hundreds of likes and new visits each day. Users are asking questions about titan coin on our Telegram group, which our expert team is answering constantly.

Overall, everything looks good. The project is progressing just how we hoped. Now, the complete focus is on the development part. Our team is presently working on testing the apps, which will be launched very soon.

We are also working on Whitepaper v2.0, which will contain our detailed project roadmap, plans, future development, and the complete algorithm. It will be released shortly

Do you still need more proof of the reliability of our coin and projects?

Titan coin holds the potential to disrupt the crypto industry for good, and it will. It's up to you whether you want to become a part of this revolution.

Titancoin?? https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/titan-coin/ $29 volume in 24 hours and you call this a talk of the town, I bet if you create a poll here only 1 of 100 people will vote, this is the talk of the town, this is the first time I read about this coin and there's not much on it why people should discuss it, but only you.

OP is just shilling a coin nobody has heard of, hardly anyone owns, and has no mention anywhere really outside of places like this thread here.

The only way this coin will ever be called 'Talk of the Crypto Town' is if they actually renamed it to 'Talk of the Crypto Town'.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: hodl no shitcoins for future altcoin season on: August 24, 2019, 05:04:06 PM
Almsost every altcoin is shitcoin and due to it altseason will never happen

why can you give an opinion like that? maybe because you don't have altcoin or you're fooled by lots of shitcoin. Altseason will have a time, the world of cryptocurrency is not only bitcoin but many altcoins don't need to wait for the altseason to rise. So if altseason do not think you will happen, really wrong opinion. In the world of cryptocurrency everything can happen at any time.

I think people say things like that because they have been burned, like you have mentioned, or are just holding BTC and hope all alt money flows into their coin. No different than when folks shill a specific alt they are holding here. That's why I take certain comments by folks not only here, but in more mainstream media, with a grain of salt -- typically whatever they state is to benefit themselves.

Now altcoin season as we used to know it probably won't occur, but that doesn't mean alts will never go up in value. Some people act like BTC is the bestest coin in the world and all alts are complete garbage. Yet of course from a technical standpoint, most alts are much better than BTC. And without alts, and new alts in the pipeline, innovation in the crypto space probably would hit a standstill.

BTC needs alts, if for nothing else, hype and volume. Some may say differently, and we certainly don't need all the alts currently in the market, but all alts vanishing wouldn't exactly be great for the crypto space.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ARDOR | Scalable Blockchain-as-a-Service Platform | Proof of Stake on: August 23, 2019, 08:12:21 PM
I don't know why IGNIS perform better than NXT and ARDOR.  Huh Huh

I think it's because of the public license thing and the upcoming partnership with Wise Mpay (some banking company). Ignis people I think get 10% of the coins from any clones, so they may get something free out of it. I'm not sure what Ardor people get, maybe extra staking benefits.

Or maybe it's just a random pump thing.

I can see NXT suffering in comparison, as it beats me why they even kept that one going -- ARDOR/IGNIS replaced all of its functionality and then some.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do or Die for ETH on: August 23, 2019, 06:19:16 PM
The entire altcoin market is down, and that includes ETH too. It's not like it's immune to market pressures.

I don't consider now a do or die time for ETH ... however if the altcoin market does recover and ETH stands still on the sidelines, then I might get concerned. Wait and see how things pan out, right now BTC is hogging too much of the spotlight for any coins to really move.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: August 22, 2019, 04:10:21 PM

I have the changes quoted above.

I too thought the fork already occurred, and based on the changes you mentioned, don't really see it as a reason for a run. Then again, lesser things have driven coins up, so maybe it's enough. Or there is something being added we are missing.

I think a dev or someone related to the coin also made some comment about a namechange? Not sure if it was a serious consideration or not, but I guess that could be a reason too.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I buy things on Amazon with Bitcoin? on: August 22, 2019, 04:06:39 PM
Question I have is, why bother trying to use btc to buy goods from amazon? I see no benefit to it. It's an argument I have against using any crypto as a currency -- unless there is a discount from the retailer, I see no point.

Exceptions made for folks in countries with hyper-inflation, so BTC is more stable than their own currency (and seeing BTC is so unstable as it is, that means their currency is kind of useless), or if a stablecoin is used.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: August 22, 2019, 04:02:38 PM
Whats with the rally?

Any news?
In Ethereum Classic will be held hardwork Atlantis 13.09.19

I assume you meant a hardfork on that date? I have a very small amount of ETC but really haven't followed the coin that closely. What changes are planned for this fork?

I also assume major wallets will be able to handle the fork change on their own, so we can just leave our coins where they are with no worries?

298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB time to invest ? on: August 22, 2019, 03:40:56 PM
Holding BNB for a long term is really a good decision, looking at the rate at which good projects are lobbying for binance to host their IEO, there's no doubt BnB will reach 50-100$ soon

I don't see any potential that BNB will reach $ 50 - $ 100, because BNB's supply is very large, I don't want to be wished if I invest in cryptocurrency, BNB is one of the most dominant coins now, I think BNB will only increase in the most realistic price and does not reach the price of $ 50.

I think BNB could certainly reach $50+. Problem is, it may require BTC to be 20K+. And that simply means one is probably better off holding BTC instead.

Although if BTC consolidates at a lower level and we do see some sort of altcoin season this year, there certainly could be a profit making opportunity there. I'm just not sure if we are at that point yet.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH 2.0 will cause FOMO or FUD? on: August 21, 2019, 06:14:39 PM
It should be fomo and no fud, ethereum 2.0 presents an opportunity to investors to now earn passive income holding about 32 eth. I'm anticipating a gradual increase in price up until 2020.

So far we can see what is happening with ETH price. It went all the way down to $90 again, and then managed to climb back to $330 or so but now, we are back below $200. To me, this means FOMO worked, but only for a while. And now people are seeing how slow and how vague ETH 2.0 is becoming, they are slowly selling again.

But do not worry,,, this is all good news to collect more ETH.

I don't think the rise from $90 to $330 had anything to do with 2.0 ... the event was too far out to cause FOMO. I think it was just regular market recovery. When it gets closer to 2.0, we'll find out if FOMO kicks in or not. It'd probably help if the ETH team announced a firm date.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ethereum classic is performing well? on: August 21, 2019, 04:29:24 PM
While all the altcoins are suffering in the crypto market whereas ethereum classic is performing really well in the crypto market. ETC Price Surges Above 10%

Source: https://coinpedia.org/news/ethereum-classic-price-analysis/

Is it right time to invest in ETC? Let me know!

Curious about this too... not that I plan to invest in ETC, but I do hold a teensy bit (basically leftover scraps from cashing out oddball coins on exchanges with high withdrawal fees on BTC/ETH).

Guessing it has something to do with either some hardfork they have planned or comments recently by a dev on a possible name change (not sure if it was a serious comment or not). Either that, or just market randomness. As for stating it is performing really well ... I know crypto people use a short-term timeline for most things, but we are talking about a single day. Like all alts, it has been suffering along with everyone else the past couple of months.
