282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETC vs ETH on: September 01, 2016, 12:06:31 AM
So once ETH goes PoS, there is no reward for mining it?

Once ETH goes POS mining is OVER.
We can still mine ETC though.

Not exactly, they both have the difficulty bomb that will END mining, make it impossible. Not until sometime in 2017, but ETH will fork to POS only, and then ETC will have to decide how immutable they really are.

284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: August 30, 2016, 10:05:16 PM
Maybe it's time to recap basic numbers:

General

Coinmarketcap shows 62,585,264 (or 62,737,901 according to synereo doc) AMP as total available supply ON MARKET

That would be nice if it's total number, but actually initial total number was 2,000,000,000

With current price it would make 367,700,000 $ , it's much more but it's still just ~1/3 of Ethereum

After 1st crowdsale

Now the good things

319,600,000 AMP were destroyed after crowdsale and it makes total number of available AMP 1,680,400,000 with current price it's 308,941,540$ and it would make it market no. 3 just behind Ethereum

After 2nd crowdsale

After first crowdsale, 15% AMPs were destroyed. It's hard to say how many will be destroyed after 2nd crowdsale, but let's assume it will be similar

Let's also assume 2nd crowdsale will be similar to the first (45 million AMPs), then there will be about 108 milion AMPs on the market

and marketcap will be about 19 million $

If burn will be similar there will be total 1,360,800,000 AMP in existence with evaluation 246,620,505 $

Just to be clear, each AMP token price is determined only by the available number of AMP tokens and not by all 2 bil. initialy created. Only the demand and suplly for the available AMPs is creating the price for the AMP token.
Yes, that's right. But huge amount of additional AMP can be thrown into the market practically anytime and that does investment difficult because it brings huge undeterminable inflation.

"But huge amount of additional AMP can be thrown into the market practically anytime" -- I don't think so, they have been around for years and everything is meticulous. My understanding is that around Sept 2017, give or take, would likely be the final crowd sale, and that would be for the "completed" platform. (This is from listening in public hangouts and not a secret)  So even if you are worried about it, that would be something to worry about in late 2017, and considering the price a year ago, I think anyone buying now should be pretty happy a year from now if the general uptrend continues. This is just personal opinion of course, but I have been buying since 15k and will buy more with the crowdsale.

286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: August 12, 2016, 03:44:14 PM

so basically you just send AMP to any bitcoin wallet(preferably cold storage) ?

That is pretty much it, it has to be a normal 2 key pair wallet though. I highly suggest you follow the guide closely and try it with a test amount first, all the way through the cycle. As you are being your own bank here, no room for mistakes. Currently I keep my AMPs in cold storage on the standard 2 key pair Electrum Wallet. I made the guide myself as I couldn't find a simple guide out there for doing it. I went overkill on detail in the guide, but my AMPs are safe now. Smiley
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: August 10, 2016, 04:50:41 PM
can't wait to see the crowdsale out of the way hoping it will be the last. it's affected the market too long.
then amps can finally fly free

I don't know why people view the upcoming crowdsale as bearish for the price.  All the new crowdsale does is put more peoples' skin into the game and set a new price floor where they buy in at.  They won't want to sell any lower than their entry price, because it would be for a loss, and they will expect a similar ROI as the original crowdsale participants achieved.

It dilutes the market with more coins.

Think of it like Satoshi's coins coming into the BTC market...It will cause a huge dump.
Also when MAID devs announced they gonna sell their stash, price went down 100%

Same might happen to AMP....it might fall back to around 7-8k imho..

Lets see.. Smiley

I don't think so, mostly just because of Steem and people can see the potential for social media blockchain projects. (Having a crowd sale is also different from devs dumping their stash) I would guess the price will actually be a bit higher then as more information will be out. Assuming the market likes it and believes it compares well to Steem and legacy social media systems.

It goes without saying, and repeated OVER AND OVER in the guide, use a small amount to test first. In fact, do that every time you ever move or do anything with any crypto. You will save yourself a lot of misery that way.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: August 05, 2016, 05:36:07 PM
This is a blog I wrote up based on how I store AMP tokens in cold storage, this definitely works, you may not need to follow every step, but I am extra careful with storing tokens. Feel free to provide feedback as Synereo can later make their own version or perhaps a video for people.

I would love to debate this with the anonymous scammers using a moderated thread to protect themselves from hard questions, and sock puppets to FUD infinitely superior projects.

First off, ETC had no consensus, so they are not the valid chain. Claiming hash power of 15% does not make for consensus, only a fool would believe that, convince me the earth is flat, that is about the level of claiming 15% is a majority. It was based purely on theft and bribes. Good luck using THAT to last into the future. Additionally, a 2am ninja add by Poloniex also indicates some level of complicity. However, as we only have two major Alt exchanges left, I would rather just focus on my own project than burning others down and risking the entire crypto ecosystem. Lastly, Franko and I are two of the most honest people in all of crypto, and the BIG TIME scammers are afraid of us. They cannot compete in the light, only in the shadows with deception.

EXP is crap compared to ETC. Your mantras of transparency to justify the 11kk premine are ridiculous. So cut off this pathetic bullshit in bold and get to the point.

ETC shares the same whitepaper with ETH and gonna be even more transparent. No more foundation and Vitalik's buddies to pursue their own financial interests. Their devs don't have any premine. ETC will survive and take over ETH some day.

Cool story. Here is how I see it though, and I might just have more intel on this than you, their anon devs are from Russia along with the rogue mining cartel from the same region, and they likely have the 100 million looted from the DAO, unless they had to pay Poloniex some. You do realize they just mined the old chain and didn't do anything? Do you have any idea about how bad that looks? That allowed the attacker to claim his prize and bribe whomever was needed to go along with this scam. Still, let's say the devs are just innocent and the best devs ever, anon devs, but good honest ones, and Poloniex is just an honest exchange that never fakes volume or manipulates the markets, fine. I am willing to play along with that, if you are willing to open your mind and think harder.

Even in that case, where you are right and we should not follow the money, that always shows the truth, this older fork of ETH contains one of the largest robberies ever, and will always have a questionable origin. That means it will never overtake ETH or BTC, and anyone that knows anything about business and the real world already knows that. Even BTC with the huge Network advantage is held back by the original anon dev and questionable Origin, and ETC is no BTC. Lastly, you think it has value because it is an earlier version of ETH? That is the dumbest idea I have ever heard. Why not make Ethereum Ancient and start mining all the various older Forks of ETH? Normally that would just be too stupid to think about, and only because Poloniex added ETC is it taken seriously, and only by people that don't know any better.

Another obvious reason they've been insolvent for a long time is, a guy I know from one of the trading channels I'm in (Expanse dev - not franko, the other one) tried to make a 100 BTC withdrawal from Finex like five days ago and what happened? Finex canceled his withdrawal, gave him some bogus excuse, put his account on hold, and refused to let him take funds out.

Just more evidence EXP devs are getting rich pumping and dumping on their followers.

yah, that doesn't look good. it actually pissed me off to be honest.

can exp defend this?

Lol...EXP pumping and dumping often without any news

whats up with the red franko candles always after a pump?

Some people sell on the News, I don't like that in the slightest bit, and I am not doing it, but you can't stop a conspiracy theorist from believing what they set their minds to, and I can easily see how people could think we just want to have the market cap this low, but we do not. Our goal is to break resistance and grow the price (with development and partnerships), but outside factors have been working against us, like anonymous scammers, hackers, and trolls that work to suppress the price while attacking our repuation, as they have no reputation of their own.

Their aim is to make a false equivalence that all projects are scams and therefore just buy the scam with the most volume, but we are actually building a legit project and slowly working our way up. As I am a business owner I know what businesses look for, that is real utility, not fake speculation based on misinformation like many projects out there. Some of the lies and stupidity in cryptos actually do piss me off, as I found Bitcoin in the first place to try and deal with the scammers on Paypal, and now I have to deal with them here. So I know the feeling and it is rational and fair to be skeptical.

I have thought about not having the Newsletters every two weeks, or randomizing the timing on them so people can't plan selling around news, but I truly believe that in time we will have News good enough that people will just buy more than they sell once it comes out, and then I imagine most all the haters will suddenly turn positive and praise the project as it rises, as hypocrisy is infinite for some. I have seen this pattern plenty before. Until then, at least Newsletters keep everyone informed, show how transparent we are, and it does help with volume, and that makes it much easier to get Expanse on new exchanges and keeps attention on us.

So there we have it m8's. You bastards are legit jealous that someone who isnt you might make a dollar that you didnt get to make. That's what all your crying amounts to. You are disgustingly green with envy.

100 btc is about $56,000. For an entire years worth of specialized labor. In Australia that is barely over poverty lines. After googling for a minute you can still get government assistance in America if you make that amount. The average mediocre web dev makes double that amount on freelancer every year. Quit your crying, change your tampons, and if someone else making money hurts your feelings so fucking bad, your broke ass needs a new hobby. Don't be a jealous arsehole you whole life. Only you can change how petty you are.

He lost about 20 BTC, no fault of his own, that is on the Hackers that are destroying cryptos and the reputation of Bitcoin itself. 20 BTC is a lot of money to him, and anyone else that has to work for a living. Amusing that some people would even take a tragedy of Bitfiniex and try and turn that on a very hard working honest dev. Although I guess Dan now knows what Franko and I deal with every week now. "Troll Logic." Some people can be jealous and petty, and it is a joke they are targeting people making 50k+ a year, working on a project well over a year, instead noticing that some are making around 15 million a week while they are looting the entire ecosystem.

This leak is enlightening on many levels to me. While it is being used to FUD ethereum, for smart analysts, this actually clears the team to me. I was suspicious that they could even be connected to ETC somehow, but certainly they are not based on these leaks. That makes Ethereum a far more trustworthy project in my eyes, and my respect for them is restored.

As for ETC, it is some rogue miners, a really good hacker, and Poloniex. You can thank them for tanking the price of Bitcoin with the ETC PnD, which I would guess, is mostly being used to cash out the DAO hack and replay attacks.

I now respect the ETH team more, even though they called Franko a dick, "Bell-end," in truth he is just very passionate and principled and likes to speak his mind. Much like myself.

PS, as for trolls, thanks for the free thread bumps, but I won't bother talking to liars and scammers. You don't deserve my time. Feel free to attempt to tarnish my reputation till the cows come home or until our market cap is in the top 10 though. Thanks.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: August 02, 2016, 04:57:56 PM
I have started up a personal blog where I will ask questions to the Synereo team, and later perhaps some original articles. These are the very first questions I wanted to be answered before I was willing to buy in.

http://cryptocollectorsclub.tumblr.com/post/148351049114/qa-1-why-i-might-invest-in-synereo

They are doing an ICO soon...Hence the price will dump hard

More coins are entering the market
Are you the new Synereo troll? You know, every coin needs a serious troll and we didn't have one for quite a time. Grin Grin Grin

That isn't how it works, people do not buy into an ICO and then sell for what they paid, the price will be based on the current price, not some discount. They are buying anticipating the project going up higher. Looking at Steem, that seems EXTREMELY likely, as this has been in development for years, not rushed. If you don't want to miss out, do some research on it. Wink

Thats it, the "FUD o meter", is going off the scale. Trolls tearing it apart in trollboxes.
This is a buy and hold Smiley

That should be called the "scam box" at this point. I have removed every coin possible from Poloniex, and will not be going back, nor will I recommend them again in the future unless they improve.

Questions for Poloniex about ETC:
(1) Did anyone on the Poloniex team or any moderators own ETH in advance and benefit from the decision personally, beyond the benefits to Polo?
(2) Do you know the Attacker or have any arrangement with him/them?
(3) Is Ethereum connected to the attacker, Why hasn't the "attacker" dumped yet?
(4) Why such low standards all of a sudden? This is an abandoned fork without consensus and a mediocre block explorer, no website, this sets a dangerous precedent.
(5) Do you really think this type of distribution is in any way ethical or moral whatsoever?
(6) Will you do it again if the opportunity arises, why or why not? i.e: Is Bitcoin Classic coming next?
(7) Do any owners/workers at Poloniex have troll box anonymous personalities that manipulate the market to their benefit, yes or no?
Cool Why allow anonymous personalities to manipulate the market in the first place using the troll box, isn't this a huge red flag for the SEC?
(9) Why not RAISE STANDARDS for Poloniex and call it CHAT BOX and require real identities? Level 3 for anyone chatting to keep out the scammers?

Facebook requires this level of transparency, and dealing with question 9 alone would restore massive confidence to the point I could trust Poloniex again. No offense, but this looks really terrible to anyone that was not gifted free Bitcoin, aka ETC. Those that were gifted are suddenly shills without principles, again, terrible precedent and divisive by design, in my humble opinion. A shame, as Poloniex had been my favorite exchange up until now, and I was there from the earliest days recommending Poloniex to thousands, even back when only a few Bitcoin were being traded daily there.

FYI, number 8 is glitched, never seen anything like that before... weird.

Exp seems like a good coin been trading it for awhile back and forth I'm sure the pressure will increase soon

exp has been holding 100k strong like a beast, even during etc pump. good sign, exp worth wayy more imo

I hold every single EXP I own safely in my wallet, I would not even think of selling any under 10 milllion market cap, unless I had to for bills. We have been suppressed for a long time, but that will come to an end sooner or later. Make sure you are holding some when that happens or you will miss out.

My favorite kind of fud spreaders are the edgy ones who say "shitcoin".

A shitcoin requires anonymous developers, and ideally, a moderated thread so you can be certain it is a scam in about 5 seconds.
