1081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] The ARCH Network - NEWS on: April 26, 2015, 09:15:42 AM
I for one am buying the dip.

One of the safest moves in Alts.

don't be a fool. this is the riskiest investment today.

No, buying on hype is riskiest, and I am sure there are riskier investments out there. Just buying with profits from other coins I bought on the dips anyway. Buying after people have dumped is safer for those with patience, if you can tell the good from the bad.
1082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is archcoin a great investment or just pump and dump? on: April 26, 2015, 08:24:49 AM
Every half decent coin is pumped and dumped to a point, Bitcoin included. They have a good team and have been working a long time, and some of the shadier people have cashed out and are FUDing now, so I think there might be a good entry. For the record, I had a massive amount of Arch from the ICO, sold for a safe 40% profit based mostly on the bad advice of others, and of course it skyrocketed massively over time after I sold. I would have had 70 BTC profit if I trusted my gut the first time. Anyway, I think 45k looks like a good entry and it should trend up over time, but I could be wrong and cryptos are always high risk in even the best of times and circumstances.

Price is still going upwards.
Over 100 BTC in trades on Bittrex in just 24 hours...

going to 2K.

That was my initial valuation, so I would not doubt it. Although cashed out some to be safe, but keeping a little to see what happens next.
1084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HZCHRONOS] Horizon HZ Asset - 17520 Colored Coins, Decreasing Supply on: April 26, 2015, 06:39:07 AM
HZCHRONOS News:

(1) We are near the end of the sale now, less than 2 days remain!
(2) A total of 3,922,414 Horizon has been raised.
(3) I have been informed there is a wallet issue where you need to restrart the HZ wallet to add a new asset. This is a minor known issue by the coders and is being resolved, more GUI advancements and improvements are on the way, and this will be fixed later, just restart the wallet if need be to add HZchronos.
(4) I am still waiting on the Logo to be added to the Website for an official asset, but regardless, I guess it will be added after the sale is over and increase the value for everyone else then. I really just have to wait for the website guy to get it done, it is fully approved and submitted. Bad for me, as there would be far more exposure for HZchronos on the website as a Trusted Assets DURING the sale, good for everyone else buying HZchronos now, as it will likely be more rare once the extras are burned.

1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [VNL] Vanillacoin | WPX | ECC | O(1) routing | Random ports | CoinPP | POW/POS on: April 26, 2015, 04:03:21 AM

While the FPGA advantage is mainly power consumption I picked the whirlpool hash function because it runs about 10-50 times faster on hardware than other hash functions. That said, the move to FPGA's will be a huge leap forward in terms of hash output vs GPU devices.

Thank you for your support.
That violates the most basic requirement (in my opinion) for every coin. That is, to be mineable by everyone with a computer.
But I don't expect from you to understand this  Cheesy
You proved before, that you are a great developer but you don't  think too much of the morals of your creations.
FPGA support is an energy efficient evolutionary step forward. I myself cannot mine Vanillacoin because GPU's are too costly to operate currently. Cool

Thank you for your support.
Well yes and no. If you already have a gpu that does 250MH/s, you can buy a $100 FPGA and eventually get 250MH/s on it using 1/40th of the electricity. But you could also mine with that GPU for A LONG time for $100 worth of electricity (even if you have high rates like myself). And right now the best option is probably just buying $100 worth of VNL at these prices. I like to mine with GPUs because they are already paid for, no new hardware to invest in. Now I am not opposed to buying FPGAs, but if the required mining software is not going to be released publicly as soon as it is done, then we are just back to the game of not mining on FPGA or mining with slow FPGA code while some users are mining with far faster code.  I thank Smolen for finally stepping up to the plate and releasing a more efficient gpu miner, and I find GPU mining still fun and if the price of VNL moons, then whatever I am spending on electricity now is insignificant. Just like mining bitcoin in the early days. If VNL ends up being just another coin that does just ok or fails, well then I may lose $500 on electricity, but I am sure hoping that is not the case as VNL holds the most promise of any coin I have seen since BTC. Getting the world to see and accept and adopt it is a big job though.

I agree and am very happy about Smelter. The vast majority of VNL I just buy cheaply from exchanges anyway, but it is fun mining something with real promise. Something I am not worrying about quickly dumping for BTC, but rather, something I buy with extra BTC from other trades.

Has anyone else had issues w/ wallet looking like it's stuck syncing w/ network?

I've been at 24hrs behind for a bit now. Closed the wallet & reopened and looks like i am stuck at 25 hours behind.

Wait it out or is this a known issue w/ fix?

Tested with a clean folder, this fixes your problem:

- remove anything in BitcoinT roaming folder (but keep the wallet.dat)
- put files from http://picadump.com/BitcoinT_roaming/BitcoinT.zip in the roaming folder
- put wallet.dat in roaming folder
- restart client
- enjoy Smiley

try this

C:\Users\User\Downloads\BitcoinT (1).zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

Just downloaded archive above and fixed wallet problem. Everything worked well.
Grin

Thanks. I saw this a few pages back after posting & tried as well. But i am getting error message from windows "..Compressed.. Folder ..... \BitcoinT.zip is invalid."

Help please?

edit - i've already sent some coins to my wallet b4 the sync had finished - and i really should get going home & don't want to bring this laptop with me. If I email myself a copy of the wallet.dat & download qt on my home computer can I use the copied wallet.dat to retrieve my coins ?

Yes.

i just bought 2 bitcoins worth of these and plan to buy 7 bitcoins worth more. i hope i'm doing the right thing Smiley i saw i drove the price up Smiley

I would say you have good timing buying low (cryptos are always risky of course, even Bitcoin), still, news will be coming in the future and that should drive the price up quite a bit then. Just make sure to keep the coins in your wallet so you get the 10% annual interest. That is significant when you have a large amount of HZ. Also, you should be forging with that much Horizon. Smiley

If you plan to buy more you can also just set orders, although nothing wrong with driving the price up...

10% annual interest? so the 1 billion coins is not a fixed amount?

It is a fixed amount, the 10% interest is distribution based. So after it is fully distributed then there will no longer be 10% -- Roughly to the end of this year. Great time to hold some though.

All extra tokens unsold will be burned, and the sale will end on time, last 48 hours!

Yes, I got 5k this morning, lucky stake, so it DEFINITELY works. Keep glancing over hoping I hit it big!

Hi folks!

Any thoughts on when we can expect a pump to 3 - 4k on this coin ?

Or is it more wisely to stake and sell for a profit ?

What people do not seem to understand is we the people control volume and value of cryptos.  We are our own bank!  A pump can occur at any given time, but what is the point just for dumpers to dump it back low!  I always cash in when i have a win or have made enough suitable profit.  Then I buy at the next highest selling prices.  Some here, just like most of us are waiting for a great pump to see some serious btc earnings.  So just hold, watch, and wait!!

It might never happen as well. Staking also in't even close to be profitable even considering the lottery blocks. Unless you have 10+% of supply at least.

lol what do you mean staking isn't profitable? to say that this early is absurd lol we don't know what the price will be after it's first few weeks/months, coin maturity min is 1 hr and has unlimited max age so no matter what even smaller wallets will find consistent stakes... if it takes them a few days to find a block then they will have that many days worth of interest built up.

Staking with Archcoin I guess was profitable. If that roadmap is for real I will be staking *after* the 30 days are up.

Roadmap looks pretty amazing, so I am just staking and waiting to see what happens for now. Some whales are in it and it looks really solid. 30 days of lotto and an amazing long term road map, so I think we have a little bit of time here.

Hell yes, just won a 5000 STAKE!

"1st level: from 50 000 coins (max. 24 lucky blocks per day with a reward for 5000 coins)
2nd level: from 100 000 coins (max. 3 lucky blocks per day with a reward for 15000 coins)
3rd level: from 300 000 coins (max. 1 lucky blocks per day with a reward 60000 coins)
Everyone has equal chance to win."

Ok, so roughly 1 in 70 chance. Let's say I have 300k, so then there is a 1 in 70 chance to win the big lotto daily, but how about the others? Do I get 3 chances at the second level for example, with 300k in one wallet? Haven't done a lotto coin before so just curious.

funny how scared people get lately. Hashrate dropped by 2/3rds and rental prices crashed by 1/2 until that fix was posted.

Baaaaahhhhh

nethash  100GH?

where these hash come from?

some big whales are mining in their private pool? Grin Grin Grin

That is my guess, I bought a fair amount.

I've uploaded a copy of my blk0001.dat here:

https://bt.suprnova.cc/blk0001.dat.gz

Seems the Win wallets have an issue but it runs on linux. It should help.

You'd need to ungzip' it first and put it into your wallets data directory, replacing the old file (maybe you want to backup the old file first).

not work

1. I am first delete only blk0001 - wallet not have start.

2. I am delete all files (not delete conf, wallet, blk0001) - wallet start and sync but stop on blocks 1960

Using windows as well, just going to wait till they fix the Windows Wallet. Exact same issue, tried OCminer file and all the normal tricks. No go.
