284  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will Bitcoin hit $500? on: November 08, 2013, 04:18:59 PM
Could u extend the graph? I'd like to see when it touchs the one million mark.

Seriously people! 1.000, 10.000 or 100.000 $ for one BTC? BTC will become more and more attractive for hackers and thieves. There will be massive waves of wallet.dat stealers, trojan horses, etc. People will kill to get one lousy Bitcoin.

Don't you see the massive implications that this will bring? And that this alone will stop BTC from rising "forever".
285  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: November 05, 2013, 11:34:04 AM
I, for example, am not verified at any exchange besides Gox, ...

It took me less than 24 hours to get verified at Bitstamp. All I needed was a scan of my passport and a utility bill.
286  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: November 04, 2013, 04:11:21 PM
After waiting for nearly 4 weeks, I have asked them to cancel my sepa withdrawal, what they almost instantly did.

Then I bought some BTC and transferred them to my wallet.

This "artificial demand" drives the price higher and higher. Until the day MtGox goes bankrupt.

Just remember there are many smart and friendly people interested in helping the Bitcoin ecosystem here, who value your contributions Smiley

"smart and friendly"? Like yourself?

All 6 posts about MtGox - and how great they are.

Fuck off, MtGox sock puppets ...
288  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: October 28, 2013, 12:26:55 PM

So my question is still unanswered: Why would anyone transfer money to MtGox to buy Bitcoin - when they can get Bitcoins at any other exchange for ~20$ less?

They don't, that's why Gox' market share is fading away. The fiat that's still being traded over there is probably "old" money for the largest part.

I know. In fact everybody knows. Question is: Why does sturle deny this?
289  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: October 28, 2013, 12:25:22 PM
But the fact that you are a pathetic MtGox sock puppet has relevance to the topic of this thread.
It is not a fact.  It is a lie, and you know it.

I have been wrong in my volume to withdrawal time estimate.
You are a MtGox sock puppet. Go fuck yourself.
Such an angry little boy.  Did you get bad grades in school today?

It has no relevance to the topic of this thread  Wink

Why do you keep asking this question?  It has no relevance to the topic of this thread.

I can give you the answer for some.  If you want to buy 20k BTC at the lowest possible price, you have to transfer money to MtGox.  Trying to buy that much on any other exchange will push the price too high due to a shallower order book.

You do realize that nobody has to buy in one huge chunk?
You also do realize that MtGox is by far not as big anymore (as they have been 1 year ago) - hence there are plenty of alternatives, even for high volume transactions.

So my question is still unanswered: Why would anyone transfer money to MtGox to buy Bitcoin - when they can get Bitcoins at any other exchange for ~20$ less?

I am not pushing any criminal behaviour, I'm just trying to find and present the facts.  Go join the conspiracy theorists here ...

We all know that you are a MtGox sock puppet. So why don't you just fuck off?
293  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will the price of BTC be when 22M people want 1 BTC each? on: October 24, 2013, 12:55:11 PM
What will the price of BTC be when 22 million people want 1 BTC each?

How far are we from this date?

Hmm...

Oh there is plenty of coin for all people. Because there is also Litecoin, Megacoin, Novacoin, Feathercoin, etc.

294  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox euro withdrawal on: October 22, 2013, 12:05:32 PM
I can understand that people transfer Bitcoins to MtGox - for arbitrage.

I don't understand why anyone would transfer EUR, USD, JPY to MtGox - because you can get Bitcoins 10-15% cheaper at any other exchange.

Because of this, MtGox must run out of EUR, USD, JPY. Sooner or later. Hence the long withdrawal delays.
295  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BFL banned me from the forums on: October 21, 2013, 08:14:32 AM
Lol! I posted a reply on how to help with achieving a refund from BFL along with information pertaining to the FTC.

vBulletin Message
You have been banned for the following reason:
incessant bickering as well as mass refund hysterics

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

Nothing new. This is the usual way how BFL reacts on criticism: With censorship and bans.

That's one of the reasons why their forums are so full of bootlickers (because everyone else got banned).

So what if the "ASIC cartel" silently agreed to peg the market (or should I say: manipulate)?
They are usually barely able to actually produce and ship their hardware, let alone team up for a conspirancy...

"Stabilizing" the price is not that complicated. And "team up for conspiracy"? Well, look at this photo ...

From left to right:
- Sam of KNC
- Josh of BFL
- random cheater
- Yifu of AVALON
297  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: October 19, 2013, 07:52:20 AM
@sturle, the MtGox master shill:

My key point is:

Why would anyone transfer USD, EUR, JPY, ... to MtGox when you can buy Bitcoins at any other exchange for ~10% less?

What if the "ASIC cartel" is this anyone? They (like most players in the Bitcoin world) have a vested interest in an everlasting uptrend in the Bitcoin price.

Because they want to sell their overpriced hardware.

With increasing difficulty this gets increasingly difficult. Unless ... unless the price of Bitcoin also rises  Wink

So what if the "ASIC cartel" silently agreed to peg the market (or should I say: manipulate)?

... and EUR withdrawals via SEPA works as it always has.

You must be on drugs. A year ago SEPA withdrawals really only took a few days to get through. Now it takes weeks and weeks.
299  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: October 13, 2013, 04:17:10 PM
They mystery to me is who is putting fiat in given that it is a relatively shitty place to buy if price is what one cares about?

That's the mother of all questions!

And I don't think it's many people that put fiat in. Hence the long withdrawal delays.

Why pay 144USD at MtGox for a Bitcoin when I can get it for 128USD at Bitstamp?
300  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: October 12, 2013, 04:44:09 PM
MtGox do not depend on a steady income of deposits to keep up the reserve.

Yes they do! Because all those miners that spent thousands of dollars on BFL, Avalon, Bitfury, etc. devices want to make their money back asap. So they mine & sell Bitcoins.

Result: MtGox has a constant inflow of Bitcoin - but on the other hand is lacking a constant inflow of fiat (USD, EUR, JPY, ...).
-> this game comes to an end in the near future.

In addition to this, MtGox has revenue from trading fees ...

Fees? Are you serious? If someone buys Bitcoins for 1000 USD, MtGox makes 5 USD in fees. How does that help MtGox to "finance" the other party that sold Bitcoins for 1000 USD - and now wants to withdraw the USD? They still need to get 995 USD from somewhere ...
