281  Other / Politics & Society / Re: From what I see democrats are at fault on: January 25, 2019, 04:08:00 AM

Trump dug his own grave when he "owned" the shutdown. Despite what radical conservative pundits may say, the majority of polls (from both liberal and conservatively leaning outfits) say the people blame Trump. Not Pelosi. This cant end good for him. Pelosi has demonstrated she will obstruct him (which fills me with a perverse glee) at any cost; either this will go on until he is so unpopular he becomes impeachable, or he will have to cave, as he will get nothing done for the remainder of his time in office if this does not resolve.

The dem bill in the republican controlled senate today received more votes than the republican bill...  Yurtle the Turtle knows President Pussy Grabber lost this one big time when he declared he was proud to own this shit!  Trump lost the SOTU address battle today and backed away like a scarred little baby.  Pelosi is teaching the big baby a lesson.  If she gives into him now he will be back in March and every other time the government shuts down for whatever the fuck he wants.  A good parent doesn't give a child what he wants when he has a temper tantrum otherwise it just reinforces the bad behaviour.  Trump is taking a shit kicking in the polls on this, backed himself into a really bad corner and is going to look like more of a joke when Nancy is done spanking him!  Temper tantrums must have had a whole chapter in the art of the deal I guess eh?

The worlds greatest deal maker couldn't make a deal when his own party controlled the house and senate?  Now his brilliant idea for a deal is to negotiate with people who hate him and think he is a simpleton?

If the democrats give in then to be honest they should all be taken out back and put to pasture!

This is turning out even better than I expected, I thought Trump would have been smart enough to figure out he was beat by now but to be honest I hope he fucking holds out for another couple of months so more people can see how ridiculous he is!

I think the idea and concept is pretty neat.  I couldn't imagine living on one of these things personally.

Do these things come equipped with those space station toilets that recycle human waste back to water and then feed plants with the "nutrients"?

How much of the structure is flammable and is there any built in fire suppression, like at least a pump to the ocean with hose connections internally for fire fighting?

Why does everyone automatically think a seastead has to have some super expensive space technology? It's mostly boat like. We use boat tech. A toilet that pumps water like on a boat. Water maker like on a boat. As flammable as a boat. We have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen.

No flying cars or 2 million dollar submarines. No hydrofoil boats for commuting.

We use solar for electricity with gas generator backup and propane for cooking. No nuclear power or thorium power plant.

Where does the waste go, directly into the ocean or into a holding tank like a boat?  I guess shit floating around your house isn't a big deal?  What if I am having a swim and a neighbour flushes a big turd?

Honestly space toilets, hydrofoil boat cars and a thorium power plant sounds way cooler!  Wink

How is a 10+ paragraph post 'low quality'?

Head on over to the off topic board, there is a 700+ page thread on a flat earth that is almost entirely low/no value!

It's not the length of the post that matters its the size of the post hole that really matters!!  Cheesy

PM theymos if you want the fucking logs, but claiming

Which means Flying Hellfish has fabricated their proof.
without proof or looking at simple facts makes little sense...

You must be a trumptard!

Would you like a cookie?

I would actually rather have people use their fucking brains and not make blanket false accusatory statements, but seeing as this is BTCT that is obviously not possible...

Check this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5062854.msg47557771#msg47557771

The links on the quotes there are different and lead to deleted posts. Not sure what's going on but I doubt it's a conspiracy. Some posts got moved/split/deleted/whatever, some links probably got messed up. You can bet FHF's igloo that if there was any fabrication involved TECSHARE would have pointed that out.

At least there are a few reasonable people here.

The guy actually quoted what I "claimed" he said and admits he said it a couple of times and some how FLYING HELLFISH MADE UP HIS EVIDENCE.  smh

BIG thank you to "Flying Hellfish" for giving merit to forum posts in this category Shocked

There are a lot of really good members that don't step out of this sub often enough to get any real merit.  There is also a lot of non legendary members here that don't deserve (IMO) to be "rank capped" by merit.

I'm happy to spend some of my source merit here so you guys can rank up and then spread the merit out further as you see fit!

I love the platinum pennies! but who doesn't like em!!!!

Gratz Lesbian Cow on the win.  Cool

Some people will believe anything!  Don't ever forgot how dangerous the caravans are, they managed to bring with them a disease that was eradicated from the planet almost 40 years ago!
294  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Threatens To Keep Government Closed "For Months Or years" on: January 07, 2019, 01:32:31 AM
I've been collecting leeches for a while now. I figure when we slip back into feudalism, the one with the most leeches gets to be the doctor. I'd be damn good at feudalism, so I'm excited! The people of this forum could probably create a pretty decent fiefdom if we put our heads together. We just need a handful of engineers, a handful of the hardcore survival people, we've got the agriculture fellas, and someone to help dig the moat.

(post is sarcasm and jab at government, not off topic rambling. The invitation is real though, lets dig a moat!)

I would donate to a gofundme page to hire Aquaman to patrol the moat!!!  I would also support making ladders illegal to help border security, anyone caught with a ladder anywhere in the USA should be executed on sight.

Why doesn't trump just build an invisible wall?  I am sure he knows more than anyone about invisible walls, imagine how beautiful and effective it would be!
295  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Threatens To Keep Government Closed "For Months Or years" on: January 06, 2019, 06:00:21 PM
A fair number of dem lawmakers want to impeach trump ASAP, the rest want to push Trump through the meat grinder nice and slow.  It what world does it makes sense for the democrats to give Trump a $5 billion dollar re-election gift...  Trump couldn't even get any wall funding when both the house and senate were in his control for 2 years, people think the dems who now control the house are going to give him what his own fucking party wouldn't, for nothing???

I think the dems should offer him $75 billion for the wall for DACA and his resignation, haha!

Trump literally has no leverage left, he is desperate for an out he can claim as a win here.  The dems look so much more reasonable in this case (and polling confirms that) by offering to fund the other depts and a CR for DHS while negotiations continue on "border security".

Honestly this won't go on for months or years, Trump will do what he always does when he loses and claim it as a victory somehow.  I for 1 am extremely interested to see how he twists reality this time, it's always interesting to see him re-write history in real time!  Conway is already out in front calling this a high tech wall, dems will let him fix some existing fencing (which Trump will claim is hundreds of miles of new fencing) and give him a bunch of DHS money for smart security, Trump will say it's his idea and that his smart wall is better, stronger and more beautiful than steel or concrete and that the American drone industry is coming back after having left the country under Obama.

Ironically IMO the one who will feel the most political pressure the longer this goes on will be the dude saying absolutely nothing right now...  Yurtle the Turtle has 22 senators up for re-election in 2020... The farmers not getting tariff relief payments or subsidies etc right now are going to put a lot of pressure eventually on their senators to get all the agencies funded (except DHS if they really want to have a pissing contest over a wall).

I have to say watching Kirsten Sinema being sworn in to the senate by Pence was so fucking awesome.

Watching a homophobic evangelical being forced to swear in a bisexual atheist using a law book instead of a bible was so fucking awesome LOL.

Meuller got a 6 month extension for his grand jury!

White Shrek is going to get hauled up to the hill.

Republicans are going ape shit over Tlaib's use of the word motherfucker LOL.  They don't seem to care when Trump uses the word motherfucker though.  The hypocrisy in the GOP and their base is absolutely hilarious!

The Georgia Republican who gained national attention when he traveled the state in his so-called “Deportation Bus” with “fill this bus with illegals” painted on the side reported to jail Wednesday.

Michael Williams, a state senator who came in fifth in the gubernatorial primary in May, was indicted last week for making a false report of insurance fraud, making false statements and falsely reporting a crime after he filed a claim about $300,000 worth of stolen computer servers from his campaign office, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

It’s unclear what actually happened to the computers, which were being used to mine bitcoin, but Mitchell allegedly lied about where he was at the time of the burglary; he said he was at home in Forsyth County, not his Gainesville campaign office.

https://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/ny-news-williams-georgia-deportation-bus-20181226-story.html

I wonder what kind of campaign office had the space and power to run 300k worth of miners, who was paying for the power for the miners before they were stolen, his campaign?  were the miners even there in the first place?

Trump definitely knows how to pick em!

299  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Common ground on: December 25, 2018, 03:29:32 PM
In the spirit of Christmas, can we on bitcointalk.org try to find some political consensus? Can Flying Hellfish and TECSHARE agree on anything?

Some points which might find general agreement:
 - The freedom of individuals is important.
 - The prevailing banking/fiat system is on the whole bad.
 - In most places, the people would be far better off if major changes were made to their respective governments.
 - As long as scarcity exists, the existence of some form of trade is good.
 - Technology is good.
 - Humanity should dominate the universe.

Any others? Do you disagree with even those broad statements?

Cool thread hehe, Merry Xmas P&S!  Cool

On a Macro level I personally find it difficult to disagree with the above statements.

Not 100% sure about the last one but since I consider it a statistically 0% chance of us engaging alien life at this point in our evolutionary path, I can gladly say fuck yeah HUMANS RULE!  BUILD A DOME!

When I was younger and much more conservative I had an almost hard line stance that things were just black or white, end of story.  I've come to think very differently than I did as a young man and I understand that the world is rarely black or white and that in fact we do everything in scales.

In terms of the differences it clearly comes down to implementation.  It may or may not come as a surprise but to be honest the freedom of individuals is extremely important to me.  My philosophy in terms of my property, my family, my lifestyle is you WILL leave the me the fuck alone and I WILL leave you the fuck alone.  Of course assuming you're not crossing some socially accepted "monster" red line like but not limited to murder etc etc etc.

If this is an acceptable broadview of both sides the difference clearly creeps in when we say well how do we make sure you WILL leave me alone in private.  One argument if obviously I must personally have "weapons" designed to protect me if a rouge actor emerges (and we all know they will).  Another argument is we don't need to arm ourselves but instead create a society where it is just more beneficial to leave me alone. And of course all the scales in between those 2.

Fear is a primal instinct in animals, part of the reason humans have evolved beyond any other species is our ability to understand and rationalize fear, to adapt at ways to minimize life being boiled down to a single decision of fight or flight for everything.

Rule by fear can only ever work for so long, history is full of it, the next level after the cleptocracy's should be interesting, I wonder if I will see it or not but I do wonder sometimes what it will look like.

Alright there's my Xmas message, peace and love!

This intellectual mongoloid show's how naive people can be and how easy it is to mis direct a stupid person's anger.

I wonder if sayoc knows that the current secretary of the treasury was the man who ran the company who "roboclosed" on his house and obviously a big part of the reason for him living in his Trump truck!  It wasn't the DEMS, gays, jews, soros, hilary, obama, it in fact was a Trump ball cupper, a big part of the fucking swamp that was supposed to get drained...

Mnuchin helped run the biggest robosigning company of the 08' banking scam and walked away with 10's (100's?) of millions of dollars personally while avoiding any criminal liability, no wonder Trump loves him!

But hey Trump says fake news, build the wall, drain the swamp what ever gets the mouth breathers frothing!
