Afghanistan was a battleground for the United States to show its power to China and Russia

Afghanistan was a battleground for the United States to show its power to China and Russia but Britain, along with the United States, lost the war. And it sent a message to China and Russia that they are also weak against people who do not have weapons like the United States or Europe. So is there anything to be gained from joint US-British military exercises? In case if the Taliban retake Afghanistan?

The lesson to be learned from Afghanistan is that people don't believe in your idea, they won't be fighting for it. It took 20 years to train the Afghan Army and it got destroyed in 2 weeks. Most of the soldiers didn't even fight and just went home. Most of the fighting was done by the special forces but they were outnumbered and had no air support. Most of them got wiped out. So all USA did in the end was giving better weapons to the Taliban.

Someone I knew lost his life in a fatal accident, we grew up together and we build mining rigs together, after he passed away I had to go over to his place as his mom requested to get rid of his miners (GPUs and other things) there isn't anyone around to keep doing what he does, sadly I sold some to other friends of a friend, I just want to say whatever you are doing life isn't guaranteed, always plan ahead and be prepared because anything can happen, it's not wrong to build your lives up but always remember to enjoy along the way, death is inescapable

Sorry to hear this buddy. Always hard to lose a good friend. May he rest in peace. Life is so precious because no one can tell us if we will get 90 or 45 years old. We should do something that makes us up happy every day. Life is not only about work and money. We need to think about ourselves and our own happiness.
2883  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Afghanistan fall into a prolonged state of war again? on: August 16, 2021, 09:14:50 AM
No i don't think so. The war is over after 20 years now, USA and all other Nato members left Afghanistan. Yesterday Kabul was transfered peacefully to the Taliban and the president fled the country. Taliban are back in power. Also for the Taliban this like Christmas now, they got all the trucks, guns and other equipment from the Afghan Army and the American tax payer. They even captured drones and planes. 20 years of training for the army and it collapsed in 2 weeks.
2884  Other / Off-topic / Re: Yoghurt on: August 16, 2021, 09:14:43 AM
Yogurt is a very useful probiotic for intestinal flora. Unless of course you make it yourself at home. There is no benefit to eating yogurt if you buy it from the market.

Yoghurt is very healthy if its natural, but many companies only sell it sugar added and other things. If we can get low fat yoghurt without any artifical ingredients, then it's very good for our body. Especially if we have problems with our stomach, then eating a yoghurt a day can make a big difference. I always switch between milk and yoghurt for my cereals.
2885  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get girls when you're not handsome? on: August 16, 2021, 08:26:46 AM
The older woman get the less they care about a handsome man and more about a successful man. If you are independent, have a decent job, a decent car and a good apartment than it will be no problem to find a girlfriend. Just lower your standards a little, instead of going for the sexy 22 year old student, try to go for some older, more mature woman.

Very sad news again. It seems that lately the news are only full with bad news. I can't understand how someone who is unhappy with his life can harm and hurt innocent people. What did the little girl do to him. Nothing. And then he just commits suicide to escape any punishment. Why not just commit suicide without hurting anyone? So sad.

2888  Other / Off-topic / Re: whats important to know? on: August 15, 2021, 07:11:10 AM
i havent been active in crypto for a while, completely forgot everything

what are some main points that have changed or is important to know?

I think the most important thing is to be aware how much the crypto world grew over the last few years. There are tons of alt coins out there and also a lot of more traders. Everything became more competitive and its harder to make a profit. We need to make sure we focus on a few alt coins that really interest us instead of following the whole market.
2889  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it possible for a football club to move from one football league to another on: August 15, 2021, 06:58:56 AM
I don't think such a switch in leagues is easily possible, and very unrealistic. The only chance would be for the coach and all players to switch to an English team, but then they wouldn't be called Real Madrid anymore. Also I am sure the Spanish fans wouldn't approve of it. Most of them would drop identify with the club. And English fans are also very loyal, they would approve of it either. The earnings would drop overnight.
2890  Other / Off-topic / Re: IMPORTANCE OF VACATION on: August 14, 2021, 07:43:48 PM
After being fully vaccinated this year I took my first week of vacation in 12 months. Damn this was so necessary, only during the trip I noticed how much I needed a break. Working from home all the time during the lock down was kind of though, because there was no real difference anymore between being at work and at home. My boss took it for granted that he can reach me early in the morning and late at night.
2891  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you feeling the pressure? on: August 14, 2021, 02:49:55 PM
The epidemic is spreading more and more around the world, and there is no sign of abating. What does recession mean? Epidemics, deaths, jobs, unemployment, layoffs, wage cuts, economic recession, GDP, etc. There are more wage cuts and layoffs. Are you feeling the pressure?

Yes I am feeling the pressure. The politicians are acting like everything is fine and stocks are rising but the economy doesn't look so strong. Many companies are closing down and laying off. I think the whole hype is around the government pumping more money into the system. Unfortunately these relief funds barely reach down to the people and end up making the big companies richer.
2892  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage. on: August 13, 2021, 11:47:14 AM
But can't you just important oil from the middle east? Saudi Arabia is happy to export oil. It doesn't sound so bad if you just trade for the things you need. There are other sectors where USA is heavily exporting. I wouldn't worry so much about. Better technology in the future will change everything, specially with the electric car rise.
2893  Other / Off-topic / Re: God and sports on: August 13, 2021, 11:44:13 AM
Often times i have observed players in a soccer team coming together before the start of a soccer match to "pray" before the kick off of their match against an opponent.

I'm always baffled and i need to ask, do you think God involves himself in things like soccer and other sports?

If people believe in God, then they also believe that God is everywhere, including sports. It is a very personal question that we can't argue with. The problem is that nobody can proof that God exist, and nobody can proof that God doesn't exist. If it makes the player be more focused and play better being religious than its good.
2894  Other / Off-topic / Re: The most profitable ways to earn cryptocurrency? on: August 13, 2021, 11:37:17 AM
Buy and HODL. This is considered to be the most common way of earning money from cryptocurrencies. Most investors buy coins such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and more and wait until their value rise.

I agree, if we don't have so much free time that we can do our own trading in cryptos it is best to just HODL. We can save excessive trading costs by just holding our coins through crisis. Crypto coins tend to move in cycles, so if we don't need the money at the moment we just sit out the bear market and wait for the rally.
2895  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you are learning a new language, post your tips on how you are learning it? on: August 13, 2021, 08:45:30 AM
For me the best way to learn a new language is with Apps like duolingo. The have small sets of tasks you need to do every day, it includes, writing, listening and speaking. It only takes 10 minutes and you can repeat it as much as you want. Also if you forget your tasks you get reminders which is very helpful. You can use the App in the morning during breakfast, at night in bed or just when you are on the move. I improved a lot with it.
2896  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the Best type of Government? on: August 13, 2021, 08:38:37 AM
For me the best type of government is a democracy with a federal system, so you can vote on the politicians in your city, state, and the country. A system like that gives more chances for the voters to interact with their politicians. Unfortunately I am not the average person in my country. On the city and state level I know that only around 50% of the people actually go voting, and on a federal level its around 60%. So about half of the people aren't interested in politics or don't like any of the parties that they can vote for. For them it might be better to live with a different type of government than they actually do now.
2897  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Most important person alive? on: August 12, 2021, 06:31:20 AM
Interesting question, a year ago I would have probably said Elon Musk, but now I am not sure anymore. He did much for Space engineering, so far it remains unknown if he will actually succeed in bringing people to Mars. 20 years ago this would have probably been Bill Gates. Only question I have is why is there Mario Draghi on your list, don't really understand why the Italian prime minister should the most important person alive. Wouldn't it be better to add the President of USA, Russia or China? They seem like they have more power.
2898  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you cope with the stress of trading? on: August 11, 2021, 02:37:55 PM
Trading - One of the most stressful things I have ever done.

It is a rollercoaster of emotions and if you do not have an outlet, it's only a matter of time till you're reenacting scenes from "The Shining"...

How do you cope with the stress of trading?

Asking for a friend
  Cheesy

It is hard to give advice here because everybody is different. I had problems with stress too when I did day trading. I always felt like I sold to early or too late. By the thing with trading is that we can't always find the perfect timing. We need to beware that we are going to make a loss on some trades. As long as we win more than lose we should be fine. Try to clear your had in the evening.

Who would have known a pandemy can be this profitable

or is it a plandemy  poster for vaccine passport messures printed JANUARY 2020!
https://twitter.com/i/status/1424310220415651845

Unfortunately did a lot of people become rich during the pandemic. It feels wrong but this is capitalism at its core. While big pharma companies made decent money with the vaccine, the biggest profit came for doctors and pharmacist who are doing all the testing. Most of the rest centers are run by very young students who get paid minimum wage, and the owners get paid millions. This test madness needs to stop.
2900  Other / Off-topic / Re: what do you do to keep fit ? on: August 11, 2021, 01:58:22 PM
I gained some weight during the last corona lockdown and need more exercise now to get back on shape. My first step is to try and avoid the car as much as possible. Every task in the city I will either do by bike or by walking. Second step is to go jogging atleast one time per week and to go swimming. And the last step is to start playing football or tennis more regularly again.
