301  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Has my wallet been hacked ? on: November 12, 2015, 04:43:33 AM
were you running the latest version of blockchain app?  previous versions had a serious vulnerability that led to some users losing their coins as they effectively sharing the same address unaware until someone noticed and cleaned them out.  Undecided

Android Wallet Security Update
Alyson · May 28, 2015 · 2 Replies
Today, we released a new version of our Android wallet in response to a recent security disclosure. In rare circumstances, certain versions of Android operating system could fail to provide sufficient entropy, and when backup provisions also failed, multiple users could end up generating duplicate addresses. To our knowledge, this bug resulted in one specific address being generated multiple times, leading to a loss of funds for a handful of users.

Though the issue occurs rarely, it might impact bitcoin addresses generated by old versions of our wallet when run on Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean” or older. Users should download the latest version of our app from the Google Play store, and update their Android OS.

Users who have generated potentially impacted bitcoin addresses are encouraged to follow these steps:

1. Send funds sitting in potentially impacted addresses to newly generated addresses. Note that addresses created with the latest Android app, the iOS app, or at www.blockchain.info will not be affected by the flaw.

2. Potentially impacted addresses should be archived to avoid accidental reuse.

If you believe that you were negatively impacted by this issue, please contact our support team: https://blockchain.zendesk.com/home

Great to see, hopefully less negatively and trolling.

One thing, some users in chat are reporting problems withdrawing from usecryptos Undecided may just be a temporarily thing but can the devs look into that?

306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Bullion (CBX) | Est. 2013 | PoSP | PoV | Get v1.3.0 now! on: October 28, 2015, 12:36:07 AM
Some good news for CryptoBullion, CBX has just been added to https://www.banx.io exchange.
Blockchain is all synced up and market is open for trading.  Smiley

This is one exchange I hoped would add CBX being one of the coins i support (i think i may have mentioned it in the past in the old CGB thread when it was still atomic)
it has a minimalist style (themes to suit color preferences), multi language interface, high security and an attention to quality that shows in features, and transparency not commonly seen or existent on the larger exchanges.  Its also never been hacked or compromised which is not a claim many exchanges can make these days.
I've found it to be a well managed alternative to the bigger exchanges, and never had any major issues or lost/locked out of my coins there.  Which is why i've had in my signature space for a while (and the referral which gives some ATP reward)
Exchange has been around for 2 years, previously known as Atomic-Trade, developed entirely from scratch by Byron who now is the lead dev/admin after he sold to and joined the Banx Team which rebranded it to Banxio earlier this year.

Its a good exchange for CBX imho as there is not an excessive number of alts here, so less noise makes it easier for CBX to stand out more then when mixed in with a zombie horde of alts Cheesy

Trade fees also recently reduced to 0.10% and only the coins network/miners fees for withdrawals (no profit taking on your withdrawals), so some opportunities for arbitrage may arise Smiley

Status page

Liquidity page

Coin Info window

Can change interface to for your native language, and themes/color preferences Smiley

Other notable features are internal messaging, ATP feeshare (every 6 hours fees are distributed), and advanced API https://www.banx.io/apis
Home page also provides some useful info like bitcoin ticker, news from several crypto news sites, and system messages.
They are on twitter as well https://twitter.com/BanxExchange

Check out the exchange if you havent before, i'm hoping that this will another place i can trade CGB and help keep our options open for trading without restrictions.

Guys, we are pleased to announce that the new ANN thread has been published!

Come over and say hi Smiley  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1221198.new#new

Hi! Smiley

Great to see the ANN, looks really shiny.  Hopefully moderation will not be necessary

I like the runners gif, very cool  Cool

I highly recommend https://www.banx.io, its another great exchange to trade mangocoinz on and they also have recently
reduced the trade fees to half and also reduced the minimum quantities needed to make a trade.  less fees more profitable trading Wink

308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: October 27, 2015, 02:04:20 AM
what is price at banx?

Seems to be hanging around the 5000 satoshi area lately, BTC/FIAT has been rising so all altcoins have seen drops against it, this will smooth itself at as bitcoin becomes more stabilized price.

https://www.banx.io/trade?c=MCZ&p=BTC

Just curious again!!
@https://mangocoinz.com/webwallet/ I can't find 2-Step Verification like Google Authenticator, Do you think here could be a safe place to store your MangoCoinz??  Huh Huh
Its made by the devs of mangocoinz so it can be trusted and if anyone tried to take your coins they can probably help you because of centralized nature of mcz. Its a good alternative if you dont want to keep on exchange.

I have been using https://www.banx.io for a long time to store my mcz safely and has proven very secure and trustworthy to me that i consider it my main wallet for mcz instead of phone. login is protected by 2FA, and extra security is provided by the separate pin created when first signed up and which is used for trade and transfers/withdrawals.

If you haven't made an account there yet, then I can really recommend this exchange as a safe place to store your mcz along with other altcoins they support Smiley
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: October 26, 2015, 06:07:06 AM
Now listed on Banx.io and running the latest 3.5.2.1

Come trade some Gridcoin Smiley
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CAPT] CAPTcoin - Best distribution! on: October 23, 2015, 12:28:13 AM
Hello CAPTcoin community,

Unfortunately CAPTcoin hasn't had almost any support and I'm no longer able to keep the current services (website, forum, explorer, API) by myself so I'm forced to close them in a few days.
The wallet (and external services such as exchanges) will technically continue to work and I'm keeping my coins but I won't be able to spend time maintaining them.

CAPTcoin has been a great experiment. I did my best and I learned a lot while doing it but it has caused me only losses which I can't keep any longer.

Thank you very much and I'm sorry if I disappointed anybody, I really tried not to.

I disagree, there has been ALOT of new support for CAPT. New exchanges, faucets, block explorers and a dedicated multipool + other services have popped up in the last few months to support CAPT.
What more do you want for support?

At least spend a minute update the OP to with all the new exchanges and services they provide: Cryptopia, Yobit, Steakcloud

311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: October 21, 2015, 09:42:43 AM
as the first phone-mine coin in the crypto currency world,i personally donot think mcz will die,but also i donnot think what devteam want to do are helpful.
in china, many coins can buy real products yet, keep an eye on http://www.38haoli.com/,sadly,none of them are successful attract users' interest.
it is the truth that,by far,our genius devs still fail to know which is the most important for a coin to grow stronger...
best wishes.

I had a look at some of these other mobile phone and NONE of them are even remotely similar to what mcz is doing or capable of its speed.  it seems to be mostly the same android wallet being pass and rebadge for each new altcoin that wants to add to it but the altcoin is still bitcoin derived and relies on miners/stakers to keep blockchain moving.  These coins are created to pump and dump on cryptsy/bittrex and do not deliver on any real promises beyond what they can already clone from existing work done by others.  Those types "devs" (if they can even be considered this) do not stick around for more then a month and have no interest in making their altcoin last longer then the its schedule pump and dump on cryptsy/bittrex.  They won't be around to fix the coin in 6 months if something needs fixing and offer no hope to anyone left holding those altcoins.

The mango team by comparison is still here dedicated to their project, and 1 year of age(How old exactly is MCZ nw?) and many bugfixes + new releases later shows these are real devs here with something original and not taken from anywhere else. Going through this thread one can see their focus from start is to make this coin stand out from the others and become a long term success and not just a quick buck scheme Smiley

Any news of the New ANN thread guys Smiley

It's done. Both the design and the content is finished. We will probably post it today or tomorrow.

looking forward to the new ANN.  mcz has been more active at banx lately (https://www.banx.io/trade?c=MCZ&p=BTC) and more users are on the exchange this past week Smiley

What is wrong with blackcoinpool.com?

No payout since 6.10.2015.

consider the date, sounds like they have not upgraded to the new wallet?  have you tried to contact them?  some of these sites and exchanges are really bad at keeping updated with their coins.

litecoininvest.com is down... don't know if it is going to work again.

Domain name + ssl have expired but it is not down, can be still accessed using the ip(92.62.131.129) instead of domain name.  a workaround is to add to HOSTS file using "92.62.131.129 litecoininvest.com" or enter the IP directly in browser eg https://92.62.131.129/

Seems everyone else can sync wallet but me.....  not fair, LOL

I have no clue why it won't work... have re-started, re-loaded, tried using the bootstrap.....  i'm dead in the water.

You've upgraded to v1.2, right?

Yes, I did.
Does the logfile show any errors at all? You could try to contact rat4 via IRC (#blackcoin @ freenode IRC)

If everything else fails: Backup everything, then you could try to export your private key, set up a completely fresh wallet, import your key into the new wallet, rescan.

Yes, looks like I'll have to start over......
the debug.log file is filled with errors, but at block 751......and it always stops at 136391 or 136392......

Here are the last few entries from the log; it is full of errors about orphan block 751.......
oops, i can't past here, i guess

start over with an empty folder and just the bootstrap (move wallet.dat to another folder). Use latest 1.2 BLK, it will will import/reindex the bootstrap.dat and then sync the remaining blocks from network.  Afterwards you can close the walletqt and copy back your wallet.dat (replace the freshly generated one), run the walletqt again, it will take a moment as it will rescan and load the wallet you just copied back.

You forgot to add Counterparty XCP Wink
This is and will likely continue to be the most successful Crypto/Bitcoin 2.0 project,  it main advantage over rivals is that its secured by Bitcoin blockchain and its miners.
No messing about, no hardforks, seperate blockchains, restarts or multimillion dollar icos involved, it works and it here.
