Hi everyone and thank you for your kind words! Sorry for not being able to tell you the real reason why we were wearing avatars, truth is, we didn’t realize it wasn’t a Copper membership “perk” until you guys did...

Still, I am not clear if you are only the part of account recovery team only. I guess , we saw you moving threads also.

I will also like to quote one of the edited image by 3doom.

Here you go, you can thank me later.

"Whitelist" and "Nuke" are also not the perks of Copper Membership Smiley Smiley
302  Other / Meta / Re: Very interesting discussion from the mind of a scammer - see archive on: May 02, 2019, 02:40:13 PM
After reading scammer reply I got the feeling that scamming other is now addiction to them.  It does not matter to scammer what is their financial status. Look like they enjoy their con jobs.

I am more interested in knowing what causes the users to trust these scammers.
303  Economy / Marketplace / How did you get scammed? on: May 02, 2019, 01:45:39 PM
I read lot of story of users got scammed. Despite several warning and negative feedback to scammer ,still user got scammed.

I like to know what assumption/stupidity did you did, that  get you  scammed.

For ex below are the assumption:
1. Nobody is here to scam.
2. User must be speaking truth so I should believe him.

For ex below are the stupidity:
1. I can send first to a newbie without escrow.

Sometimes there is complexity.

1. User urged it is very limited time deal (like an hour) so you are not able check facts/use escrow and get duped.

So how you get duped? I will like to learn reasons from you.
304  Other / Meta / Re: The ignore button @ theymos... on: May 02, 2019, 01:49:43 AM
you are excluded from theymos trustlist,so who cares what you wants?your colleagues?

Excluded from trustlist does not mean that you are banned from using the forum. As long you are forum user you can request for the feature that you find useful for yourself and forum.

It is for theymos to decide whether he find the feature use for forum members and able to implement it.

Unignore should have a 10 Merit penalty.

Very bad choice,TMAN will be able to pay that penalty but most of forum user will not able to do it. (In the end, TMAN need this feature, so no use for TMAN.)

I have accidentally clicked on the ignore button when trying to click on a persons trust (from a post), and when trying to click on the “profile” and “PM” icons, all adjust to the ignore button.

+1, sometime I accidentally press ignore.
305  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion on Merit system. on: May 02, 2019, 01:39:36 AM
I think your suggestion is coming out of from your frustration that you are not able to rank due to merit system (when you are potential legendary on activity count assuming everyone having activity greater than 730 is potential legendary.)

It is not that tough to rank up, just read the lot of good topic started in B&H board. You can find a topic that is not discussed enough, do the good research on it and present here. You will definitely get some merits.

OP There ain't no such thing as  free lunch and you are asking for free lunch.
306  Other / Meta / Re: Cryptios on: May 02, 2019, 01:23:53 AM
FYI: The humans handling the new account recoveries system which was implemented late last year are a company that Cyrus created called Cryptios. alanst, 3dOOm, and Rizzrack -- the "mysterious newbies" who some people noticed -- are three of their employees. They've been doing a great job.

Although Cyrus created the company with bitcointalk.org in mind as their first customer, they are accepting additional customers. Their main specialization right now is high-security, social-engineering-proof customer support & community moderation.

Thanks for clearing about the status of these newbies.

Thank you theymos for the announcement and the kind words!

Best of luck Cyrus for your new endeavour.

So in reality it was your team that was working for account recovery when we thought theymos is doing it manually  Smiley Smiley
307  Other / Meta / Re: [Choose 1]Trade Forum accounts, or DT neg trust for trading accounts - banned on: May 01, 2019, 04:06:40 PM

Will you trust a guy the same if he has positive feedbacks or not on ebay/carpooling/uber etc.?

I do not trust  somebody having positive trust unless I have not dealt with that seller. Positive trust just give an assurance but it should not be the reason for anybody to lower his/her guard.

Do not compare with "ebay" type sites  because they are virtually acting as "escrow" between you and seller and this is not true in this forum if you are not explicitly taking the escrow services.
308  Other / Meta / Re: Ideas for improving local boards? on: May 01, 2019, 03:58:06 PM
Appoint the local moderators on priority that will definitely weed out the rubbish and appoint some merit sources in local board that will encourage the user to post some interesting and discussion worthy post.
309  Other / Meta / Re: What's the goal of local section on: May 01, 2019, 03:54:54 PM
It can't be off topic if you have only one local thread for everything and it probably isn't spam because it may contain valuable information but it can be seen as some kind of advertising "spam". I mean, that forum is in your signature, personal text, profile and then you posted link to forum giving nearly zero information about subject.
On the other hand, I have already seen this type of advertising so I am not really sure.

From very start , I am telling OP that Moderator deleted his post not the thread creator and thread creator also clarified it here.

The post that was deleted have "tid" and "pid" thing and it look like referral link. (though in the end , we find that site refer it as thread id and post id.)

Though no moderator clarified it here but I suspect it is deleted on suspicion of referral spam only. (Why the moderator of this forum will be knowing such a peculiar terminology of that site?)

310  Other / Meta / Re: [Choose 1]Trade Forum accounts, or DT neg trust for trading accounts - banned on: May 01, 2019, 03:34:29 PM
Would you trust an account that has a proven and long trading history?

I guess primary purpose of giving negative for account sales is to make negative that previous + overall stay. Otherwise , how it make sense to red trust the account that is not engaging in any kind of trade activity.

Would you trust the same account with a notice "ownership changed"?

Actually , no one should trust any online identity. so it will not matter if that identity "X" changes to "Y".
(By not trusting , I mean you should be neutral, it does not mean distrust. )

If it is about bitcoin then you can ask for the signed message from the wallet and verify the balance in block explorer.  Images can be doctored easily so they should not be taken as solid proof.

Additional tip to keep your password safe:

Be aware of your surroundings. When you are entering your password , make sure you are not getting Shoulder surfed.

I hope you should get the chance.

315  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Upgrade!] So.... on which board did you earn (or spent) most of your (s)Merit? on: April 29, 2019, 02:22:21 PM
Hello there LoyceV, is it possible to get the stats of Dabs and Mr.Big? TIA. Only the Spent Merits.

I'm really guessing there aren't much Merit transactions in our local when it comes to Dabs.

Looking at the stats shared by LoyceV it does not look to me that they are Merit Sources (if they are, then not at all active). Amount of Merits sent by Dabs is not even justifying the initial airdropped smerits.

PS: Thanks LoyceV for pulling out mine data.
316  Economy / Reputation / Re: Who's your forum bestie? Make a guess and I'll prove you wrong. Probably. on: April 29, 2019, 06:52:18 AM
My best guess is mprep  (but will be surprised if Jet Cash name pop up, quoting him against his no -quote wish).
I think I am quoting LoyceV  too or no idea if it comes out CH.
317  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Upgrade!] So.... on which board did you earn (or spent) most of your (s)Merit? on: April 29, 2019, 06:42:31 AM
I will request mine for received and spent.

Is it their any  public interface for doing it yourself instead of requesting?
318  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should I show sympathy or label as stupid? on: April 29, 2019, 06:34:13 AM
Sometimes it happens people let their guard down and they got scammed. User can use the escrow but escrow does not come free.
Even you are fooled to use fake escrows.
You can keep your point and it does not matter that what do you think of scammed guy but you want to use "DT tag" against a scammed person.  You were not only rude there but shown your mental fickleness.
319  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Over dependency on the government in African community on: April 29, 2019, 05:08:41 AM
Education is a tool for success and in most cases lack of education is responsible for lack of development.

Lack of education causes you to choose corrupt politicians, not recognizing your rights , blaming yourself or somebody else and  depression.

Few things are not in individual hands but we can try what we can do.

320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't read it if you get offended easily. on: April 29, 2019, 04:31:13 AM
Lets get real here, eventually we all are here to earn somehow, through our respective ways of course so what's the point of pinpointing newbies?

This is your assumption. We "like to earn" does make any compulsion to earn and "somehow" is sounding like that you are not caring about the right way or wrong way.

if they are doing it after doing proper research good for them and even if they are not doing it with some research and get to know that it's some scam that's even better for them because this is how some people learn. Accept their ways and most importantly respect them as well.  No offence.

Did your country give license to drive in road even if they do not know "how to drive" right now, it is fine. They will eventually learn after doing couple of accidents, might be killing some people in learning.  Ohh! we should respect their way of learning "how to drive".
