301  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending on: December 06, 2012, 01:41:56 AM
The REAL big flaw with bitcoin... is the fact that it is pegged to the US$ and not to a basket of currencies.

It's funny how people can make nearly 200 posts here and still think things like that.
302  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] YABMC :: 55Gh Perpetual Mining Bond :: Coupons Now 2x per Week!! on: December 05, 2012, 04:21:26 PM
Claims continue to trickle in but we remain well short (>20%) of the claimed shares approaching the total of outstanding bonds.

What % remaining are you shooting for?
303  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: December 04, 2012, 11:37:53 PM
The contract specifically states that if I want to enact a buyback, I can, at the highest traded price on GLBSE over the last 15 days. The highest traded price on GLBSE over the last 15 days was 0. The highest traded price on MPEx over the last 15 days was around .03 BTC.

Even if we came to an agreement on price, I'd still need your information to make the payment and comply with federal regulations.

Buyback sounds like something that could only be done feasibly with GLBSE up. I suppose it is kind of proper that with GLBSE down you feel inclined to ask for compliance with federal regulation, especially since a buyback would be trivial with it up and running.

I'm still not sure how I should feel given that I didn't end up holding GIGAMINING bonds when it went down. Best of luck to those who did... and yourself.
304  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Easyminer 'Run a test...' Unavailable on: December 03, 2012, 03:27:20 PM
CGminer supports BFL Singles very well.
It's been a month since I started this thread... I have been mining for quite some time.

Easyminer is not fully fleshed out yet. Some options are still unavailable.

I have seen the 'run a test' option available in screenshots though.

I think changing withdraw address and initiating a withdraw should require some kind of confirmation of identity. Perhaps a separate pin or password. Given that you could log in using facebook, I think it'd be a good idea.
306  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: November 28, 2012, 01:13:44 PM
So, upon further review, it seems as if I never had a withdraw address for GLBSE. I imported my old wallet.dat file I had, but could no longer use because I switched to Fedora and can't for the life of me figure out how to run the Satoshi client, into the new nice and easy wallet importer offered at blockchain.info. It's empty because I earlier transferred all of the coins out of it into a different wallet. But it shows me all of my old receiving addresses and there is nothing there for GLBSE, which makes perfect sense because I never withdrew any coin from GLBSE. I only sent GLBSE coin, and then turned around and bought Gigamining bonds with it. So, what I am to do?

You need to fill out the claim form on glbse.com.
The address you define after login will be the one used for the withdraw.

EVERYONE who has bonds or coins (and cares to get them back), should do that. You won't get anything without doing so.

In Italy getting any document authenticated by the city council administration (which is the cheapest and commonest way) costs 15 euros, *if the document is in italian*. Official translations require serious money. Then I would need a lawyer specialized in anglo contracts and such to understand and write whatever shit Giga asks , and for that an arm and a leg would not be enough.
Fugged about it. I prefer to donate all my assets to someone who sends Giga in jail.

If Giga goes to jail getting anything out of those assets would be difficult. Sounds like a conflict of interest.
308  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN MAGAZINE ARRIVED! on: November 26, 2012, 09:14:20 PM
Wow just got a reply that my magazines were shipped out 5 days after they were purchased and am being told that it takes 10 working days (i.e. weekdays) to arrive. Well given Thanksgiving is coming up, good luck to me getting them in November.

Seriously does it take 15+ working days to fill an order for 3 magazines (not 1000 magazines)?

I would expect this kind of delay from Butterfly labs not The Bitcoin Magazine.

What's the hold up? Seriously?  Angry

10 days is not unusual for intercontinental shipping. My Casascius coins took about 2 weeks for example to get to Europe.
They're coming from Romania... mine arrived yesterday in Oregon.
Just got my copies of #2 and #3 down in Florida (after reshipping), also from Romania.

I do have a handful of accounts that match (i.e., the user submitted claim to YABMC matches the GLBSE list).  I am willing to post this information (just BTC address and shares) but understand this involves some minor loss of anonymity.  I will use the responses via PM and in this thread to gauge whether I post the list or not.

We have just e-mailed those accounts that match in the interim.  This list accounts for less than 50% of the outstanding shares.

Received.

Stop trying to place blame on GLBSE, its your negligence and by taking the legal route you are just making things worse for yourself, if you have to spend 1000s on legal fees and hours in court then thats what's going to happen.

As someone else stated you could have worked this out partially on a case by case basis, I'm.sure you know people who you can resolve with without lawyer intervention

EDIT: you state that you cannot verifiy the list nefario gave you, so can I ask why you placed trust in him and his platform to host your contract and all of a sudden decide not to trust him? Again this is your negligence.

You also seems to not read anything I write. The list is a starting point. The list needs to be verified. I need to have legal recourse if things go awry. This is to protect all Gigaminers.

The lawyer is involved so people can trust that their information can be held in confidence. It is a lawyer's sworn duty to uphold laws and play by the rules.

Please look past your blinding anger and try to see another point of view.

Best of luck to you Giga and all the shareholders. I didn't happen to hold any gigamining shares at the time of shutdown, but it could just as easily be me in the same boat.

To get full list of shareholders, publish it, everybody confirms it and we start again receiving dividends. Simple as that.

Have you received asset holder information from GLBSE yet? Giga received his, and i'm wondering if it's just him.

Ryland, would you hurt yourself for my love?
I would kill myself for your love! <3

Oh! A true Romantic! Its just like Twilight!

You've always had my love Ryland! <3

316  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - SatoshiDICE 100% Dividend-Paying Asset on MPEx on: November 07, 2012, 07:26:29 PM
Yes, except that I can still double-spend my losing bets to cancel them.  In that case I don't care that it also double-spends my payout, since my payout is smaller than my bet.  I've never seen any statement from SDICE about how or even whether they have any way of preventing such an attack.

Interesting. I'm still learning about how the system works really.

The bitcoin network or satoshi dice?

I decided to try out Easyminer for the BFL Single I just received.

I was able to upload 832 MH/s firmware and perform a diagnosis in administrative mode. 'Run a test...' is still greyed out though. I'm thinking it might be having detection issues and I might want to install the D2XX usb driver.

Anyone have this issue with Easyminer before?

319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Foundation on: November 04, 2012, 04:23:26 PM
I haven't been following the discussion, but this an extremely good point. I could also be put as "Everyone is free to make his own bitcoin foundation".

The only thing that could be brought up is that the foundation is entangled through Gavin (and others, don't know) with the satoshi client developers, so that way the votes could influence protocol development. But then: Everyone is free to make his own client and/or fork.

If you make your own successful fork, you most likely reduce trust and confidence in bitcion, i.e. the sum value of the improved fork and the TBF fork is less than the value of the original TBF fork.

You are better off spreading your cheeks for the corrupt foundation rather than splitting the foundation into a corrupt and an honest faction.

Someone who cares more about the bitcoin as it is more than a better protocol that may come forward probably is already in the forward. Not saying that all or even most members of the foundation care more about bitcoin than what may come of it.

Tulkas said this was to lower the chances of a ponzi-chain forming with loans. IIRC
