I GOT MINE TODAY TOO!! Just a little late - arrived 5/29/2012 in Columbus, Ohio. Nice job showing off the rig too . Don't leave it there when your rigs are running... It'd be a shame if something happened to it. SSSSS

OH He's that Denton! That makes so much sense now. HAHA Good read, though it certainly gave me a book list. Not complaining, I probably should have read them by now anyways.

BTW for those who are worried that there are too many copies printed and their #1's are not that collectible as they have expected, I can leak the following: "some copies of issue #1 will be more collectible than others". Hailstorm is 3, 2, ... All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others?

connivence fee.
connivance (redirected from connivence)
The furtive consent of one person to cooperate with another in the commission of an unlawful act or crime Well that certainly doesn't sound good! I suppose it is better than no consent at all!

So I have received two baited emails in the last two days. I am only going to guess that the crackers are using the leaked db emails from the security failure in gox from a while back, and many other people should watch out for them. Today's email: info@mtgox.com via km33.hostsila.org 11:29 PM (11 hours ago) Reply to me Dear Mt.Gox user,
Your account is currently pending review, please visit https://mtgox.com/forms/verification For those users who have had their accounts marked for review, an explanation of why were are implementing these security measures can be found here:
Security Measures Explained <-- (this links to a fake login at http://f3w4twfe.tmweb.ru/)
'Verified' Accounts are eligible for monthly/daily transaction limits of up to 5 times the monthly limit and 10 times the daily limit.

Thanks, The Mt.Gox team
And yesterday's email (if you click the link it will bring you to a page which has an auto-download for a likely infected xls file): info@ecurrencyinfo.net via carens.websitewelcome.com 11:45 AM (22 hours ago) Reply to me

Thanks & Regards
I am sure they will send many more messages trying to infect my machine or reveal my gox password (amusingly I have never had any money in gox). Just watch out, and be suspicious of all emails. If anyone feels semi-vigilantie, feel free to whois the domains and track down the ips to shut down these sites. I am a little geek-overloaded with other stuff today. Pretty much the leaked Database has become "The" mailing list when it comes to bitcoins. I've received my fair share of fake MtGox emails, spam, and typical newsletter/PSO mail.

My magazine(s) (I got 2 copies - thanks) came shipped in a USPS-provided Priority Mail envelope. If I recall correctly, it had a New York return address, but a postmark showing a zipcode that started with 83xxx - which is probably more like Wyoming - and if so, it's no wonder I'd be one of the first to get the magazine, Wyoming being a stone's throw from Salt Lake City.
It's going to take ages for me to get my first issue, since I JUST bought my subscription.

One paranoid little question. I shouldn't have any problems changing my shipping address down the line?
Just email support@bitcoinmagazine.net with any problems. Keep receipt, it helps. We'll have a look into the newsletter thing. Thank You. Snagged my subscription. Why does your Favicon look like Missingno. ?

Wait Wait, can I still get a May issue? Someone said something about buying/reading a copy from Barnes & Noble?
This is what I get for not lurking as often as I should.
Simply go to http://bitcoinmagazine.co.uk/subscribe/ make your choice and subscribe. If you buy a single issue it will be #1, if you buy a subscription it will start from #1. If you buy a bundle it will be a bunch of #1's. Alright, thank you, I'll be grabbing a 12mo subscription. I wish I had the bitcoins on hand to buy them with Bit-Pay, always wanted to check it out. The bundle looks like a cool way to promote bitcoins, will hopefully buy one down the line. Ooh, a super secretive surprise secret gift. :0 One paranoid little question. I shouldn't have any problems changing my shipping address down the line? P.S. Your mailing list is not active. (newsletter)

If you've put your Seals username in this thread you should already be registered (you can check the list of registered players in the software), no need for the password.
It was too many to register manually :-)
Next time I'll have to make it harder, write me a poem about Seals or something.
Can I write one now and submit it in advance? ;3

hahaha well is someone gonna pass the password to us outcasts, or are we just out of luck? He takes the names posted in this thread and manually registers them for it.

Honestly the best way to learn is to do it with $20 and see how easy it is. Go through the process on BitInstant.com, and you'll see all the instructions you need.
I tried it. I selected 'walmart' and 'to email' options, and tried depositing $20: It says I'm going to get $19.20 for my $20. A 4% fee. Seems good: It asks me for a 4 digit PIN, then tells me I'm going to receive $18.20 for my $20. A 9% fee. What happened there? Oh, and it also tells me there will be a further 1% fee for the USD to BTC conversion. So that's a nice round 10% fee in total. Then when I get the voucher to print, it turns out I have to pay $23.95 (a convenience fee of $3.95 has been added): That makes a total fee of exactly 25%. I pay $23.95 to get $18.202 and then have to pay an extra 1% on top of that for the conversion. I wonder if there's some way of presenting the true cost up front, and making the fees clearer. It seems, for instance, that I end up getting more money if I deposit $99.99 than if I deposit $100, because the rate goes up 1% at $100. But the only way of finding that out is by trial and error. I'd like to see the fee structure spelled out clearly. The rate is a flat 3.99% all around. When you do 'Bitcoin to email' coinapult charges an extra 1% for the conversion and trading fee which we clearly display in orange on the next page. For some transfers, zipzap adds $3.95 fee on it. So yes, when doing $20 it may seem $5 is too hefty, but on $500 its alot less. Any tips on avoiding the 3.95 fee by ZipZap? I read earlier that it seems to be because of MoneyGram... Which locations use moneygram?
|
|
|
All in all I paid USD 103.95 for USD 96.01 worth of BTC at the current market price.
Will I do it again? Absolutely
When is it ~7%? Is it always ~4% in US? It's always 3.99% but for some transfers (Moneygram I believe) Zipzap charges an extra $3.95 Does CVS, 7-11, and Walmart all use Moneygram? If I get stuck with a $3.95 fee, it looks like it would actually be cheaper to deposit at a bank, unless I sent a very large amount.

Once again, we're faced with the chicken or the egg scenario... Do you sell drugs to support your gambling habit? Or do you gamble to support your drug habit?

You won't make much going to JUST ONE of these sites. The more sites you use, the faster you reach the bitcent mark.

Do you have anti-bot measures in place, other than the captcha?

I'm having the issue with non-connectivity also, there is hop in Denver from level3.net which is automatically dropping the tracert when I try one. This same hop works just fine for all the other tracerts I try, so it seems to be blocking dailybitcoins.org since that is the only tracert I tried that dropped at that hop.
xe-8-3-3.edge3.Denver1.Level3.net [4.28.20.37] reports: Destination net unreachable
but this same one does just fine with a tracert to Slush's mining.bitcoin.cz and multiple other sites.
