Hi all, as I'm working on the new website and as we are getting ready for the "rebranding", I urge everyone to start using the name "Node" and move away from NXTLite. We are so much bigger than just a clone or fork of NXT. We are built from the ground up using Node.js, and for those who are not familiar with web development circles, Node.js is a very big deal. The association with Node.js alone is going to go a long way with the marketing of Node. Node is going to be HUGE. The more I work on the web site, the more excited I am getting I sense there has been some problems in the past due to language barriers... rest assured, I will be personally rewriting the content in a more simplified, marketing-style manner (something which I have done professionally for many years). I'm really looking forward to getting the new site up - it will be ready this week, I promise

The last proposed logo looks too much like eMunie's logo for sure! IMHO, the logo needs to contain the letter "X". Something along the lines of the Korean boy band's logo, but different

I think one of the most important things in the new OP is to explain the rules as much polite is possible. "Miss the bus" thing is quite rude. I noticed it also but decided not to mention. It's definitely nobody's false that you had to delete all collected addresses. So you need to put it somehow like this.
In order to be complitely sure your future Node stake is safe and secure we improved the software and started over collecting accounts. We will contact all stakeholders through PM during the period of xx.xx.xx - xx.xx.xx. All stakeholders will be able to claim their stakes within X months after the lunch.
These folks need a PR guy who speaks their native language and English well. Don't worry, I am in the process of redoing the Node website and I will also clean up the writing. I've worked as a corporate web developer and technical writer for over 15 years and English is my native language

by the way the staff does not turn over to the news, standing topic
LOL - the post directly above your's is from the "staff" and it was posted just this morning. Two posts above that is another post from the staff: Let there be an auction, we want to run an auction, along with beta-testing Need a couple of days on something to fix bugsThat kind of seems like news to me, no? Maybe the staff should stop working on the client and open up a private chat room just for you to update you minute by minute?

Check out this garbage article: http://www.coinssource.com/exocoin-launch-early-june-whats-really-going/No whitepaper during the IPO - really? Fact check much? I seem to remember a couple of versions of the whitepaper. And after all the work these guys have put in and the current working beta, he suggests this could still be a very elaborate well thought out scam. One of his reasons - due to the level of English used by posters in this thread?! Unfuckingbelieveable! I remember reading an accusation post somewhere where the accuser claimed coinssource was just some shill site used to pump certain coins.... I'm going to have to go with that theory now myself and remove it from my daily bookmarks. The author doesn't say it's a scam, but states that he sees some indicators and it might be one. Did you read the whitepaper or the Exo wiki btw.? (I have no connection with coinsource) I did read the whitepaper and also contacted the dev directly. After doing so, I made my investment, the maximum allowed, directly with EXO. Even back then I felt they were putting in far too much effort for a scam. And how about now? Why bother coding update after update, spending time writing lengthy status posts on this forum, when they could have obviously already released a "good enough" client to even claim the escrowed funds if that was their intention. The coinsource article is just garbage, plain and simple. The facts I've brought up were totally ignored, yet the level of people's English writing skills in this thread was considered as a possible "scam indicator"? Okay then, thanks for the investigative journalism

There's no guarantee that safecoin will even come to fruition, so I don't know how one can expect it's price to skyrocket. It's not like other cryptos that are already being mined and circulated. It's an idea that hasn't been tested in the field yet. Even the devs admit that they're not sure how many aspects of their system will work until they are able to have a test network up. If the idea is so popular, why do you think people who wanted to get into the IPO but couldn't, aren't rushing to buy MSAFE right now at a Deeply discounted price?
For the exact same reason people weren't rushing in buying Bitcoin after it crashed back to $2 after the rise to $30 - most don't understand the full implications of a system like this. They will, eventually.

I think it's reasonable to calculate based on 100% distribution. I certainly am not going to calculate marketcap based on 10% fire sale by founders. Regardless of specific #'s, I'm referring to potential returns for those that participated in the IPO and why the current price is below that mark.
Coinmarketcap.com uses the amount of coin in circulation rather than the amount of coin that will eventually be in circulation. So the current market cap of Maidsafe is $ 4,917,225 based on the amount of coins which were distributed during the IPO...which is 452,552,412 MAID coins. So the amount of Safecoins that will exist when the Safe Network goes live will be roughly four and a half million - the same as above. Demand for them will theoretically be a bit more than it is now and that will cause a bump in the price. Not sure how much though... I thought that MAID coins are going to be exchanged for safe coins at a 1:1 ratio. Shouldn't there be an equal amount of safecoins as MSAFE when the network goes live? The strange thing is how there was so much demand for MSAFE when their IPO started, but as soon as the coins could be traded, the mastercoin investors have been dumping. It looks like most of the interest in their project was from people looking for a quick profit. Demand for safecoins might even be lower, especially if safecoin doesn't live up to the expectations from the whitepaper. The MaidSafe team failed to keep touch with the investors. It seems that they leaved us after the IPO. This is nonsense, they don't post here because they have their own forums and given the level of the comments here I certainly don't blame them. And I predict the exact opposite. If you look at where the world is heading and the increase in encrypted internet traffic since the nsa scandal broke and the popularity of all these "anonymous" coins, I expect the value of Safecoins to skyrocket in the future.

Worst thing you could do is to distribute 1/3rd of the coins among the 1200 users and keep the remianing coins for yourself. Even if you are going to give these coins away later, people will always tell you, that you knept 2/3rd of the initial coins. (= unfaire distribution )
I dont want to tell you how to act and what to do. Just do the right thing ! and put some thought into your decision.
I agree with this. Can you confirm IPO is over and all coins will be distributed to the 1200 accounts? This would be the wisest thing to do - the IPO has been open for weeks now. Those who are interested have applied. Simply divide the total number of NODE between the registered stakeholders and nobody can claim an unfair distribution.

Here is a sandboxie report of the file posted here, looks suspicious to me, strange network connections and attempt to install itself in system startup is not right. I would wait until someone trusted confirms the MD5 of this file against the original 1.5.2 i am still running 1.5.0 so cant check here. https://malwr.com/analysis/N2E4YWY0M2M5NzUxNDU4YTkzZmQzZmM3ZTZmZTQ5ODk/As far as I know it only offers the option of being autorun at startup. In the options menu of all the QT wallets, that option is there. But I don't really know tbh. I am not a C++ programmer. Yeah i am aware of that but this seems to add itself to startup on the first run, i have also checked the first ip from the report the irc one which seems to have also been used in a few qt wallets posted before and in a multibit wallet that somebody had downloaded, links below. None of these files should be connecting to a irc host and even stranger the same one. Am nearly 100% sure now that this is binded with somekind of irc botnet, like PlasmaIRC bot or similar, am still waiting for someone to confirm the checksums against the official 1.5.2 software which will confirm it as i am sure they wont match. http://www.herdprotect.com/ip-address-62.210.131.147.aspxhttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=448262.0Is the same file that i downloaded yesterday's mega Ok yep i will be the first to say i was wrong and am sorry for doubting your link, but can never be to careful when it comes to crypto and a link posted by a new account as a first post is always going to be suspicious. I have managed to download the offcial 1.5.2 from the first post and the checksums match, so it is 100% the same file on the dropbox link as the one in the op. Thanks for the fresh upload and verification guys!

Can't get wallet at meg. temporary error, retrying. Please, update link to wallet.
I CAN CONFIRM THAT THE WALLET LINK IS NOT WORKING!
BCCdev may have exceeded the allocated daily bandwidth associated with this FREE mega account. Keep trying - the link is good. I have downloaded from that link over 5 times today, after each one of you wrote that the link didn't worked... As time passes, Mega adds more bandwidth to a FREE account. They limit the bandwidth to force users to get a PAID account. Any complaints should be directed to BCCdev (by PM) or Mega.co.nz. I have lost track of how many time I have tried to download the wallet over the last 3 days. 5 times today alone. For the love of God, can someone please upload the wallet to a website other than Kim dot Greedy Fatso's?

My suggestion for a slogan is "Node, the next generation crytpocurrency platform built on Node.js". Node.js is very popular among developers so this way we can piggyback on their notoriety

'NodeCoin' is taken and just 'Node' is gonna be attached with 'coin' by majority of people anyway Sad So we need to find something
Not necessarily true, people will say "Have you checked out Node?" just like they say "Have you heard of NXT?" I haven't seen anyone refer to NXT as Nxtcoin. Nodecoins will be used on NXT to pay out people who run network nodes. I think there is nothing wrong with calling our platform here just "Node" which makes sense as it is built on Node.js. In fact, a lot of people don't like any name with "coin" in it anymore. Look at the names of all the new platforms: Nxt, Quora, eMunie, Etherium..... Node fits in perfectly! I agree! There are pros and cons! But i think everyone will get used to it! As an idea someone proposed to use instead a 3 letter abbreviation to use the whole word! For example Bitcoin = BTC, but Node = NODE!!! Node stays Node! This will make our currency stand out! As the first 4 letter! Also this is legal, i mean acceptable cause cryptos aren't limited to some kinda of ISO What do you think? ?? Hmmm, I supposed the ticker symbol could be NDE, but NODE also works (look at DOGE). My vote is for NODE across the board!

In fact, a lot more than $3 million has already been burned over the 8 years of software development for this coin.
If this is true, I would sell all my safecoin immediately. It's been said, repeatedly, that the MaidSafe guys have previously received funds invested from "friends and family" for past development work on this project, which is what I am assuming this refers to. And provision has been made for "rewarding" these early alpha-stage investors, seed-capital supporters, in the current coin structure, which seems appropriate to me. Nothing to do with budget, if you are developing something for 8 years with nothing released, then you should be worried. I guess with $6mil now, they can keep going for another 16 years! I personally know of 3 legitimate Maidsafe competitors that will have working products in the next 6 months. I hope Maidsafe can beat that time frame. I guess time will tell who's talking out their ass - Maidsafe or your 3 legitimate Maidsafe competitors. My bet's on your "competitors". LOL
