301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin do the same scenario in 2018 ? on: April 27, 2021, 04:51:32 PM
Yes, After bull market bear market will start. There is zero chances for that not to happen.

the important matter is timing.
we cannot have 2018 like bear market without a 2017 like bull market. right now we are still in 2016 like bull market and price has to go up a lot more than this and probably even reach  half a million before it can burst and drop.
302  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Sending locked coins on: April 27, 2021, 04:41:30 PM
Is it already possible, or can it be added to the Bitcoin code, to send blocked coins? Releasable under certain conditions?

A quick example:

You sell your house for 10 BTC. I am interested. You ask me a proof that I have 10 BTC. I send them to you, blocked, with an automatic return within X hours.

Possibility 1: We sign the sale and I send a confirmation of the release.

Possibility 2: The sale does not take place and I automatically get my 10 BTC back after X hours.
Perhaps, technically, this could be introduced into the bitcoin technology, but for sure no one will do this, because there are intermediaries and traits who can vouch for you. Although the idea is very interesting and it would be great to see its implementation in another coin.

it is already possible without needing anything new.
the part about locking coins and only releasing them under a certain condition (sale going through) is done using multi-sig with 2 parties (2 of 2). the part about locking the coins for X hours is done using OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY and to combine these two each part can be seen as an expression inside OP_IF and OP_ELSE.
303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its time to act and use it for btc and crypto on: April 27, 2021, 03:50:56 PM
USDT is just as centralized and terrible as USD. don't forget that it is supposed to be like USD that is why they chose that name too. so there is no chance that anybody should even consider this altcoin ever.

as for the old fiat system, it is inflationary as it has always been but it is not done. people still rely on it and continue using the fiat system even when they know how corrupt the banks are.
304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (I have not sold any bitcoins) New words from Elon Musk on: April 27, 2021, 03:27:16 PM
Mind stop patronizing this Clown? don't you think that He is successfully trolling the whole crypto community because we are objective in giving a damn in everything he says?

Blocked the account and forget about listening to what he says, crypto will grow even without Joker in our side.

that's true but i find it a very interesting experiment to see how people react to hype and FUD. for example each time he hypes bitcoin the market either doesn't react at all or the reaction is very small. then he does the same thing to a shitcoin like DOGE and it pumps hard.
i think it is a good indication of the maturity that bitcoin market has gained even if it is not fully mature yet.
305  Economy / Speculation / Re: New Bitcoin support! Fall or rise? on: April 26, 2021, 05:33:02 PM
there is a very good chance that the below $50k prices are now gone for good. the price we saw recently could be the last opportunity for people to buy bitcoin at those levels and from now on only above $50k prices are going to be seen. which makes $50k the strong support.
so far the rise is slow but strong with price currently sitting at $54250 and heading towards $70k and $80k levels next month.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FED RES Bank Secretly Bails out BITCOIN - Too the Moon & Beyond on: April 26, 2021, 05:13:11 PM
the only thing that connects Federal Reserve and bitcoin is when Federal Reserve prints more of their centralized altcoin called US dollar to tank its value due to inflation and more people migrate to bitcoin and it helps bitcoin reach mass adoption sooner.
eventually as USD tanks, bitcoin price is going to reach $10 million all thanks to Federal Reserve Cheesy
307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sell in May and Go Away. What do you think? on: April 26, 2021, 04:44:02 PM
considering that this is not the stock market and bitcoin has never followed the stock market trends the question becomes pointless.

apart from that since we already had a big correction this month and the price went low enough to get ready for the big rise and there is only 4 more days left in April, there is no other option for May to be a big bullish month.

if that's not enough in both 2020 and 2019 was bullish in May. we had 40% rise in May 2020 and 110% rise in May 2019.
The only time May was bearish was 2018 and that is because 2018 was the bear year! but take 2017 there was a 150% rise in May.
or May 2016 which was a 90% rise.

in any case months don't determine the market direction. the trend determines that and we are in a bull market specially after the correction we just had.
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did Satoshi Quit? on: April 26, 2021, 04:38:15 PM
I think he quitted because he wants to do something else, maybe a Bitcoin v2.0.
In my opinion his job is done regarding BTC...  Grin

people who have bags of shitcoin have been dreaming about this for as long as bitcoin has been around, thinking there is such a thing as bitcoin 2.0 that is replacing bitcoin. there is even a meme called "flippening" which comes along every now and then during the shitcoin pumps and disappears as soon as they start dumping.
309  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Python HEX generator Range based on: April 26, 2021, 04:11:57 PM
Looks like you are trying to find private key with balance... This won't work for that. This is why:

base on post history of the starter i believe he is trying to recover his own private key that is damaged and is missing a part of it. that is probably why the range looks like this.
although if starter was more clear about what he is trying to do he would also get better help.
310  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: April 26, 2021, 04:02:34 PM
If you want a free Wheel of Fortune bonus in proportion of your deposit amount, you just need to convert your BTC amount in FUN tokens and to deposit them on Freebitcoin. With only 5000 FUN you'll get immediately 3 WOF free rolls each day, with 50 000 you'll get 7 rolls, and with 500 000, 13 rolls...

there is a huge difference between depositing bitcoin in this site and having it sit there safely and even generate some profit and converting the precious bitcoin to a token that is volatile in nature and has a chance of going down in price so my bitcoins could be partially lost.
311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donate to Cøbra (pending court battle against Craig Wright) on: April 25, 2021, 05:46:48 PM
a good initiative but i think a much better movement is if we started a campaign forcing all exchanges to remove BSV from their trading pairs. according to coinmarketcap.com there are still a lot of them that offer the trading pair for this scam coin.

to name a few big names according to their volume and popularity: Huobi, OKEx, HitBTC, Poloniex, BiOne, KuCoin, Bitfinex, Bittrex, Gate.io, Bithumb and Binance Jex.

although this shitcoin has been dumping for over a year now but all these exchanges are providing liquidity to the scammer who would then use the funds to sue people and also cause disruption in bitcoin's development (like suing bitcoin devs).

the recent promotional deposit bonus was a bit unfair don't you think?
it said deposit any amount and get 10 new rolls on wheel of fortune. which means if you deposit 1 bitcoin you would get the same number as someone else who deposited the minimum amount of bitcoin!

i think such promotions should be based on amount deposited and you should get 1 new roll for every for example 0.005BTC.

The last time we did a deposit bonus giveaway it was for Golden Tickets and in exactly the format you suggested and ran for 48hrs each time. Unfortunately, one individual started depositing and withdrawing the same 2 BTC constantly for 48hrs every time we ran it. We think this is a lot fairer on everyone and a lot less attractive for high rollers to abuse.

Edit: I forgot the happy ending. They spent a fortune in mining fees and didn't win the Lambo.

fair enough but this could be simply prevented if you added a condition where every user could use the bonus only once per round. so for example for this recent one, if someone made 3 deposits of 2BTC, 2BTC, 2BTC only the first one would give them the reward not the other two.
just my 2 cents.
313  Economy / Economics / Re: "BTC not a currency per se but can be an alternative asset" China on: April 25, 2021, 04:00:36 PM
In an interesting turn of events, China's tone on BTC has "softened". Who was expecting this change in tone? Not me. Not after all the crack downs on exchanges or ICO bans and the works they are doing with their CBDC.

they banned ICOs because everyone else was doing it and they were too obvious a scam not to ban. but they haven't changed their tone towards bitcoin from what i can see. they still hate it a lot while loving any centralized altcoin they can control. in fact they even released a list of "best cryptocurrencies" and bitcoin wasn't even in it!
314  Economy / Economics / Re: The Country Cryptocurrency vs Bitcoin on: April 25, 2021, 03:38:19 PM
It baffles me how some of this institution think they can replace bitcoin by creating shitcoin with a central authority that depend and belong to a particular country. Its a dead on arrival.  Grin

i don't think most of those who keep creating altcoins (including any big companies like Facebook) are trying to replace bitcoin because they know it is impossible. what they are doing is trying to not be left behind as the revolution of bitcoin continues to take over the world.
315  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Questions about multisig on: April 25, 2021, 03:24:32 PM
1) P2WSH addresses are longer compared to P2WPKH (and P2SH) because unlike those scripts that use HASH160 here SHA256 hash is used which is longer.

2) in script hashes we are computing a hash of script as the name suggests. that means the hash found in the P2WSH address is hash of a redeem script that could be anything and only usually is a multisig script.
there is no HASH160 anymore instead it is SHA256(redeemscript). in multisig that is SHA256(m + n*pubkeys + n + OP_CHECKMULTISIG)
316  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How can Bitcoin market function without centralized exchanges? on: April 22, 2021, 05:12:01 PM
can we call it "bitcoin" market when we are trading "bitcoin" with "fiat"?
at least it is "bitcoin fiat" market if not "fiat" market alone. and when we are trading in a market that has at least 50% centralization wanting to decentralize that is very hard which is why i don't think bitcoin-fiat market would ever do well decentralized.

but if it were bitcoin with some other cryptocurrency that is decentralized then it would be a different story since there is no traces of centralization there and it can be fully decentralized. atomic swaps and lightning network comes to mind here.
317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has intrinsic value like Gold but better? on: April 22, 2021, 04:56:52 PM
first of all things have value because we say they have value. it is like a contract. if humanity decides one day that cat shit has value, then it has value.

secondly the utility comes in. you can't get everyone to accept that cat shit has value, but if something has actual utilities or characteristics that would be deemed worthy then it gains value.
take gold. in 700 BC gold was scarce, it was shiny, it didn't rust like iron, it was durable and pretty. so it was used as currency when they first created the "coins".

its the same with bitcoin. it has an excellent utility, it offers people worldwide a way to be their own banks. that will give its intrinsic value. the more people adopt it the higher that value is going to get.
the way it is extracted is just a characteristic of bitcoin that is the way to ensure the security.
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: why bitcoin is falling? on: April 22, 2021, 04:24:21 PM
you have to first understand the difference between "falling" (continues) and "fell" (one time thing).

the fall that bitcoin had was a small that you can't really call a "fall" considering the volatility levels of bitcoin and also it only took a day to go that low and then price remain stable around $55k.
also if you zoom out and look at the chart for the past 2 months you can see that the average price has been near $50k so we are higher.
if you zoom out more to 4 months or any more than that you can see that you can no longer even think about "fall" since there is a massive rise going on.
319  Economy / Economics / Re: How is it supposed to be alt coin season after bitcoin falls? on: April 21, 2021, 04:01:42 PM
I hear everyone talking about how it's going to be alt coin season when bitcoin season is over.
not everyone. only the altcoin pumpers and scammers were saying this to get newbies to buy their altcoin that they want to pump.

Quote
Whenever bitcoin falls, for some whack reason alt coins follow suit.
it is not a "whack reason" it is very logical as a matter of fact.
people in general have zero faith in altcoins so they never hold on to them for long. when bitcoin falls it is an excellent time to start buying it in the dip. to do that you need money, the money that could be tied up in some altcoin if you are an active trader. so you dump that altcoin to go to bitcoin market and start trading.

Quote
Even those coins whos projects have nothing to do with bitcoin like Vechain.
it is not about having anything to do with bitcoin. none of the altcoins do anyways. it is about that altcoin not being used for anything else except for trading or if we wanted to be correct for pump and dumps.

Quote
I really feel like we've hit the market cycle top earlier than expected tbh
the altcoin market cycles are actually very short and sometimes big in pump size. also there is no reason for all altcoins to be pumped at the same time. so you shouldn't expect that either. for example during the past couple of days as all altcoins were dumping there were some that were pumped hard.
320  Economy / Economics / Re: The Country Cryptocurrency vs Bitcoin on: April 21, 2021, 03:50:05 PM
Most countries will have their own CBDC in the next 5-10 years, but it will be nothing but digital fiat - things will not change much between fiat and Bitcoin.

exactly, and the funny thing is that it won't be anything new. every time we use our credit cards or basically any other form of digital payment that goes through the banks or some centralized payment processor we are already using "digital currencies". what difference would it make if that centralized currency were called digital or crypto? nothing.
this is why i disagree with the first part and think only a small number of countries are going to create a "cryptocoin".
