Haaland is far more than an additional striking strength. When Haaland plays the other team has to dedicate defensive capabilities to stop him, which impacts the team as a whole. Having a really strong striker within your line-up is more impactful than just having this striker. An opponent is forced to think about it and come up with a match plan that includes this striker of course.

But the discussion whether De Bruyne is more important or Haaland, I think that also depends. There will be days when Haaland scores that one goal needed for the win and there have been days when De Bruyne scored it, like against Real Madrid in the Champions League. But one thing is for sure and that is De Bruyne's injury is among the worst issues that Manchester City could now have.

I'm not sure if this works with City this way, although for many other teams it would be 100% true. It seems to me that City are more dangerous with ball control + pressing than those who play in their attack. I think that the very idea of personal guardianship of individual players has long been outdated and no one uses it - everyone plays zone control. It doesn't matter if Haaland is in the line-up in separate City games or not, the opponent will play his own game formation.

I keep saying it and I will keep saying in all the time, for PSG there should be just two options, either Mbappe signs a new deal that is a lot more years and not ends this summer, or they should simply end up with benching him all year long and not make him play in a single game. If he doesn't sign the contract, then he should be sold, and if disagrees and doesn't want to talk with any team, then he should be just benched.

You can't just play him and expect the player to respect you, if he is ruining you financially, then ruin him back. Sure he would be able to get to another team anyway if you do not play him, but no player that sits out for 1+ year would be ready to play that easily, it will take a long time for him to adjust, and he would not be making as much money as he would otherwise.

You are crazy, no offense  Cheesy
Mbappe and PSG are not at war. Mbappe fulfills the terms of the contract that was voluntarily signed by both parties. On what basis should they shit Mbappe? Plus, this will lead to nothing except that PSG will lose its image (and possibly sponsorship contracts), and Mbappe will quietly receive his millions sitting on the bench.

Without Harry Kane, Tottenham performed as well as it did. We thought after harry kane left the team, Tottenham will be weaker. Their offensive performance will be slow. But we haven't seen that yet. Tottenham performed very well in both the matches. If Tottenham's defenders could have played well against Brentford, then Tottenham would have won this match as well.

In today's match, Tottenham's performance was better than Manchester United's. Son, Sarr, Maddison, and Kulusevski all performed very well. Besides, their goalkeeper Vicario made some excellent saves in this match. However, Richarlison's performance was not good in this match either. If Richarlison plays well, the overall performance of this team will improve.

Although I'm a United fan, I'm not too upset about the defeat. Firstly, I expected that United would hardly stay in the top three (and even four) at the end of the season. Now, if we discard the refereeing error, United should have only one point. Secondly, Ten Hag annoys me. Last season he blamed Ronaldo for everything, and now it will be very interesting to see what new reasons he will find to justify poor results.

Mbappe has already lost some of his golden years at PSG, but he is still young and he can turn things around. In addition, he already has an amount of money that is difficult to count, and in general he has everything except satisfying his ambitions. Mbappe looks much more focused on football than Neymar and I don't fear for his career in that sense.

I guess I would agree with everything you said but I would like to add one thing that I believe could come into play when you talk about the amount of money that Mbappe has.

The clubs from the SPL are entering new spheres all the time, which means that a player who says "ok, I now have 200 million in my account, I will decline any offer as I am rich enough and will only pursue my career". Then the sheikhs pass by and say "you got 200 million in your account, we'll make it a billion". So these offers are not about doubling the wealth, but they are about changing life once again even for people who couldn't supposedly have been any luckier in their lives. When he got a billion and the contract expires, the sheikh might say "I am going to turn your billion into 5 billion if you sign a life-long contract with us. No? What about 10 billion?".

It is so weird what they are doing financially that I would not be 100% certain that Mbappe would decline every offer that is catered to him.

Yes, the sheikhs bring some element of madness into football and it is almost impossible to predict (with reliable accuracy) what will happen. As the saying goes, if a person cannot be bought with money, then he can be bought with big money  Grin
In general, the modern world is like this (rather strange) - you can work all your life and not earn anything, and someone who shoots a couple of successful tik-toks will fall into a trend and become a millionaire in a very short time. Therefore, the crazy money that football players receive now is more or less logical - after all, they give their whole lives to football (maybe except for Neymar, haha) and are not just lucky.
3085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: August 19, 2023, 01:34:32 PM
What are your thoughts on the recent matches on the FIDE World Chess Cup 2023?

I watched the game between Ivanchuk vs Magnus and Magnus won with a score of 2-0 against the legend himself.

During their first game, Magnus was able to grind down the game during the middle game leaving that e6 pawn too strong for Vasyl to hold. On their second game yesterday, Magnus, with the black pieces, managed to get a drawing position (which he believed that he could grind it for a win) which prompted Vasyl to resign.

Fabi was also able to win against Duda and the former mentioned in an interview that the lines he played was inspired from his preparation against Magnus since their match on the 2018 WCC.

Who do you think will win for this year's FIDE World Chess Cup 2023?

A victory over Ivanchuk was expected since Ivanchuk has already left big chess and plays for pleasure, but he was once considered a real competitor to Kasparov and a contender for the crown.
I don't think that Abasov will be a problem for Carlsen, I'm more interested in the second pair - I hope Pragnanadhi wins. Caruana is also a player of the past, I want to see how the new generation replaces the previous one.
3086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 19, 2023, 01:24:12 PM
A goal and an assist on Harry Kane's German Bundesliga debut was a good way for the English national team skipper to announce his presence in the league. Regarded as the the player who's finally gonna fill in Robert Lewandowski's boots over a year on from the prolific Poland strikers transfer to Barcelona, Kane expertly delivered a performance to match that belief.
With the kind of quality that comes with the signing Harry Kane, Bayern Munich is definitely gonna be huge threat to not just the rest of the German Bundesliga clubs but to the entire European football.

I think Bayern will be on a par with Real Madrid and City to claim the title in the Champions League. Real Madrid still hasn't got Mbappe, City have lost the KDB so all three teams look equal. If Tuchel does not escalate the conflict with Kimmich and the atmosphere in the team is normal, then Bayern will have a great season ahead (it is a pity that they will not be in the same group with Barcelona, I would like to see the continuation of this series).
3087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: August 19, 2023, 01:16:57 PM
It is true that in important matches such as the semifinals or the Champions League final last season, Erling Haaland seemed to disappear on the field and his role as the pillar of the team at that time was immediately replaced by other Manchester City players who had freer opportunities to score goals. I don't think it's a problem as long as the team can use every player available and actually I'm quite annoyed because Pep Guardiola very rarely changes his players in the second half. So when they should have had the opportunity to score goals through supersub players, they still relied on the players who were there from the early minutes.

It's not a problem at all because before Haaland came to City they had won the Premier League by more points than last season and despite Liverpool being only one point behind, their title looked undeniable. Haaland is an option (very cool option) but I think he is much less important than the KDB, so I'm looking forward to a more competitive season this time around.
3088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +90170 units on: August 19, 2023, 12:36:52 PM
Yeah, it was bound for a win until new guy steps in and did the business, penalties anyway wouldn't have given good odds so we both failed on that game, KTChampions.

EPL presents a couple more opportunities. But we settle on one -- Newcastle, if they play like they did, will beat City, if City played like they did in previous matches.

100 units at Sportsbet on Newcastle to WIN vs City @6.39. Other odds: 4.90
Units advantage: +149
Bet ID: 64da726b4969d0000187f6cc

Running advantage after 3 bets: +309 (+149)
All-time cumulative: +90,379
Running units after 2 bets (0W|2L): -200 (-100)

It was all about the Sevilla striker - he missed a few chances (almost two one-on-one outings). I'm sure City couldn't equalize if it went 0-2.
By the way, I'm not happy with the format changes - the abolition of extra time reduces the status of the title.
Where did you get such profitable odds? Is that Fairlay? Judging by bet ID it's sportsbet ) Superboost?

As I expected after losing the Supercup, Bayern won big, too bad City already ruined my multibet  Angry
Kane scored a goal + pass for the game and I think with each game both his confidence and teamwork with other players will grow.
By the way, if we talk about the game, then Werder did not deserve such a defeat (although the statistics of shots indicate the opposite), in the second half they tried to recoup, and did not try to keep the minimum losing score.
3090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: August 18, 2023, 08:16:11 PM
Good stats but still far from Ronaldo's record (if I'm not mistaken, he scored 11 goals even just in the group stage). By the way, after the game with Sevilla, Haaland has a problem with the fact that further he will be under great pressure. He currently has zero goals for City in 5 finals! I think he will be reminded of this before each next final and if this figure continues to grow, it will be sad for him.

I personally don't care about Ronaldo's record, because I don't think all great strikers should be compared to Ronaldo. So, the benchmark for Haaland for me is not only about the number of goals, but how can Haaland maintain his consistency to keep playing well to make a big contribution to the success of the team.

Therefore, even though Haaland still cannot surpass Ronaldo's number of goals, but I am sure that this will not make Haaland rated badly. Also at least it's true, even though Haaland is a target man but at least, his teammates don't always rely on Haaland to be able to score goals. Thus, the team will still get good results even if Haaland doesn't score.

Whether we like it or not, any striker will be compared with previous tops. In the Champions League, there is a reference point for any strikers - Ronaldo. Both Mbappe and Haaland will be in pursuit of his records, then someone will take his place (I'm sure of it), but at the moment Ronaldo is a landmark, especially if we are talking about the good statistics of a top striker playing in a top club that dominates. So far, Haaland has only topped everyone in the Premier League.
3091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 18, 2023, 08:07:56 PM
Pep Guardiola is still trying to hire two players for this season and he asked Manchester City to hire both players at any cost in this transfer window.
The first player is Lucas Paquetá who plays for West Ham in and this Brazilian player had important rules in his team which can make West Ham to keep their player Paquetá but I'm sure an offer from Manchester City with a good price will change everything.

The other player is Jérémy Doku who plays for Rennes in the French League and plays with both feet, high dripping skills are what's can do, also he s one of the best talents in Europe and people compare him with Dembele.

I don't want to joke in the style of black humor, but it seems that if City gets into a plane crash (without Guardiola), then in a couple of weeks they will buy two new squads for any money (thanks to the sheikhs). How this guy likes to have a significant advantage over competitors. The season has just begun and City, along with Pepp, has already begun to piss me off again  Grin

So this means that when we pick a draw and it is a draw but not the exact result, it will be 3 points correct? Close doesn't exist anymore and it is either exact and 4 points or 3 points. I have been thinking about this last season already because there was a disadvantage in going with a draw as the close option was not existent. But this is an improvement.

that's exactly how it looks and that's why i set the prediction on a draw to 3 points, unless you guess the draw correctly - then it's 4 points Smiley

A fair improvement, now it makes sense to bet on a draw. Under the old rules, it was simply unprofitable. While participating in other pools, I noticed that a draw is the most unpopular outcome for forecasters, and probably no one in this pool has ever chosen it as a possible outcome (at least mathematically it was disadvantageous due to the fact that a draw is never the most likely outcome).

Regardless of how Haaland performed in the Champions League semi-finals and final last season,I think it would be wise to appreciate his goalscoring record. Haaland played 11 matches last season with Manchester City in the Champions League, and he managed to score 12 goals in 11 matches. Don't you think that's great?

After all, Pep Guardiola doesn't play a game strategy around Haaland so we can see all the players who play are involved in attack. Haaland is a target man, but almost anyone can score goals because Pep Guardiola has that scheme in building attacks instead of relying on one player.

3097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 18, 2023, 03:35:57 PM
Now that Elon knows he can't beat Mark in a fight, the next up is "threads is not as good as twitter!!" as a response to it? I mean come on, where is the fight, I don't care about twitter or threads, I care about the fight, is Elon too chicken to have the fight on live TV just like any other fighter in the world?

Why is he trying to run around and find other alternatives and not just straight up goes against Mark? What's the point of having a big debate over this when you are too chicken to actually fight? Lets face it, Elon is just all talk and no action type of guy, he can't fight Mark, he can't fight even his own shadow, he was never capable of doing it and now he is trying to make up stuff and avoid it as much as he can.

This situation can be interpreted in different ways. Maybe Musk initially mocks Zuckerberg knowing his passion for martial arts (which, by the way, in my opinion is a really strange hobby for a businessman). Maybe you are making too serious conclusions based on facts that seem important to you, but for Musk they are just nonsense. And I doubt that Musk cares about anyone's opinion about his courage/cowardice, etc.

Some teams really don't like playing the game for third place, as they're disappointed to have missed out on the chance for the grand final
But in the last men's World Cup, Croatia played with great determination and managed to win third place, an example of good soccer and respect for their team and fans
~

Not only the teams but also the fans themselves do not really like the game for third place. There is something illogical in the game for third place - two teams that have already lost continue to participate in the tournament (at least formally). In general, I am a supporter of modern formats that are used in eSports - for example, the double elimination system. If it were used, then there would be much less talk about the randomness of results in national team tournaments.

Dembele has the sacred number ten, which we hope will suit his PSG career very well. With Dembele present, the PSG squad really looks amazing the depth of their squad looks strong. But what makes PSG strong is still Mbappe, reportedly he is back playing for PSG. Under Enrique leadership it seems that Mbappe will be more confident about being able to get the UCL Trophy, if this season PSG gets a Trophy then I'm sure Mbappe will extend his contract with PSG.

How is it related? Do you think that Mbappe only wants to leave because it is difficult to win the Champions League with PSG? It seems to me not at all because of this, but because Ligue 1 is not the top League and achievements in it are worthless if we are talking about the best of the best (of course, Mbappe wants to be in this category).
And by the way, if PSG win the Champions League, then for Mbappe it will be more of an additional reason to leave - does it make sense to continue if he won everything with this club?

Based on the statistics, you should know that Man City is still ahead and cannot be said to be completely bad. The absence of Kevin De Buyne did show many shortcomings but the final result was still the end result and they came out victorious even though it was obtained through the white point. KDB role cannot be replaced by anyone and Pep Guardiola has little choice but temporary options. The absence of KDB for a long time can also have an impact on results that are not optimal. As a whole Seville is a strong club and it is undeniable that its performance is able to withstand attack after attack launched by Man City.

Sevilla are a relatively strong team, but they are definitely not in the group of top clubs, which means that City should beat them more confidently than in the lottery.
For the game with Sevilla City quotes were 1.30 and the result was a draw, and for the game with Newcastle quotes over 1.60 means City will lose (i hope so)  Grin
